In a saucepan, combine quinoa and water, bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until water is absorbed and quinoa is tender. Once quinoa is cooked, transfer to a large bowl, stir in 1 tablespoon of olive oil and set aside to cool, at least 20 minutes. Eating it now…a great alternative to an orzo and feta greek salad that I’ve been loving all summer. I used a regular cuke and it was good, English would have put it over the top! Fast and easy. Definite thumbs up!
Not only high in protein but very high in calcium to! Chickpeas are such a good calcium source along with tahini! This salad is a great source of calcium through out!

I have seen your kitchen organizing tips.. Really excellent and helped me a lot.. I would like to know organizing Clothes in USA walkin closets. As in India we are used to so much of steel cupboards and all of a sudden these huge walk in closets makes us confused. I know it’s out of your kitchen but I would appreciate if you could give tips on organizing clothes.

Was your quinoa pre-washed? Normally you should soak quinoa for about 10min and rinse/strain until the water runs clear to remove the outer waxy coating as it contains saponins which give a bitter taste.
When you sprout the Quiona, you get more vitamins and minerals, when you oil it, you get more of the fibre… try this instead of cooking it, SPROUT IT, it has more flavor in your salads sprouted. MORE NUTRITIOUS (shame to waste it by boiling).
