I’m allergic to gluten and soy, i didn’t know my whole life. I thought because i have asthma when i was a kid.
I’m trying to make some food for a friend with gluten problems. I am not a chef nor do I know how to make all these Asian dishes. Is there some way to make something good but easy like a casserole or lasagna that does not have gluten? This is very interesting but out of my league to make. (for a potluck at church so not a big chef’s kitchen)
If you are allergic to gluten you can not consume cross reactive foods. No grains can can be consumed.
my mother’s friend sustained much damage to her liver as a result of living with undiagnosed celiac well into her 60s
I’m 38 and I’m noticing soon after I eat wheat product of drink a beer I start itching on my upper chest, scalp, hands and forearms only. The scratching causes a hives like reaction. My scalp feels like needles pricking it. It’s weird and why is it happening later in life.
Anyone interested go to my gluten free group on FB “Gluten Free Show me what you are eating”
I’ve eaten wheat products all my life. For the majority of my life it’s been whole wheat. After I finished menopause and had my gall bladder out my digestive system has been struggling as well as many other things went wrong with my body. I keep going back and forth about cutting out wheat or slowing down. I did test positive for 1 celiac gene on my 2 3 and me test but my gi doctor saw no evidence of any damage in my colon that would be indicative of a celiac problem. I know that only 15% of people with celiac genes ever actually get the disease but I have, also, read that as people age they can pick up sensitivities. I think what I’ve decided is to slow down on the wheat. I do better with grains every day so I’m not cutting out grains and I won’t worry too much about every little bit of wheat gluten but I’m just curious if I will feel a better. If it is the wheat I think it is more a sensitivity than actual celiacs disease. Aging can be a whole lot of fun sometimes. 5/30/2019
the spicy pepper paste in bimbimbap has gluten in it, so it is must to make sure they do not add that to the dish.
Don’t tell spongbob about Lettuce, it would be a really salad day otherwise!
Baked potatoes can be amazingly versatile, the only limit to what I put on them is the gluten allergy.
I became allergic gluten gluten on 2014. Since options were very poor: I researched and find out that most South African, Indian, Chinese and Mexican foods are naturally gluten free. So I had never struggled to find food. Apples and cheese sticks are my favorite snacks and emergency food as well as Glucerna or Ensure. Food labeled as GF is overloaded with sugar, fats and/or sodium. IMHO If God made me gluten intolerant, maybe He wants me to eat a healthy diet
THANK YOU for educating people! I am a sever Celiac and many people are not aware of these facts!!
Technically, a salad is any two or more things mixed in a bowl.
Warning as someone who loves Koren Food Hot Pepper Paste Is Not Gluten Free!!!!
Its Thailand that is still mainly GF. And Japan leans more that way. But Korea and China have eased wheat into products too just like u.s.
(I can’t speak for Cambodian or filipino food since over ten years now, but i’ld look in that direction too. I know glass noodles with roasted pork is one of my all time favorite foods ever).
I really needed to find some recipes for my mom to try, she’s not supposed to eat gluten or dairy.
I am gluten intolerant and I’ve been having a really hard time finding foods I like. This is helpful. However, my nutritionist said I have to limit rice due to arsenic.
Gochujang is NOT gluten free y’all. That is the red pepper paste in the bibimbap. And a lot of Korean food.
I’ve never seen a recipe for shepherd’s (or cottage) pie that didn’t involve a flour gravy as binder and flavor, nor a traditional meatloaf recipe that didn’t include breadcrumbs, although both can obviously involve substitutions to become gluten free. Most taco and chili seasoning mixes also contain gluten in the form of maltodextrin or flour, so be careful.
I still like your list, though, despite the fact sushi is on my very short list of common foods I’ve always found disgusting. Even made with cooked meat, all you taste in sushi is seaweed covered in soy sauce, because that salty, fishy, rotten-lettuce flavor is so strong. Add raw meat and it’s just vomit worthy. But I may come around eventually.
Aren’t most corn taco shells gluten free, including Old El Paso? Sure, not flour tortillas but true taco shells and corn chips. It’s the seasoning that’s usually the issue. so just use hot sauce and/or salsa to season your homemade tacos, or make your own mix.
Also, a prickly pear comes from a cactus and looks nothing like a typical pear, so that image is way off. Thanks for the video.
STOP! You have Bibimbap as a gluten free food with “no substitutes,” but it often has red bean paste (gochujang) which DOES have wheat in it. You have to buy it special in order for it to be gluten free. Actually, unless you do substitutes, Korean food is not a good gluten free food. It’s misleading since it looks like it should be, but most dishes have gochujang or soy sauce (often both) which both have gluten. You can find them available in gluten free versions and then eat your heart out.
The spicy chilli beef wraps from Gordon Ramsay are AMAZING one of my favourite dishes
I have not been compatible with gluten for several months. But now I have great recipes to eat without loss of taste.

. https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2016/09/21/gluten-sensitivity-celiac-disease.aspx This protein, found in wheat, barley and rye, makes your gut more permeable, which allows proteins to get into your bloodstream. This sensitizes your immune system and promotes inflammation and autoimmunity. In the press release announcing the publication of his new book, “Gluten Freedom,” Fasano said: Gluten-containing grains have been linked to more than 200 adverse health effects, with 20 adverse modes of toxicity, including neurotoxicity
I do zucchini and mushrooms with marinara sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Burgers wrapped in lettuce also.

They said they wouldn’t mention any dishes to which you’d have to make any drastic changes, but for the sushi, I feel like it wouldn’t go along with their “rules”.

So glad to hear that rice noudles in pho is gluten free. Most authentic noodle soups is rice noudles i think. Im very glad to hear that as i love it so much
Billions of people have been eating gluten for millions of years. Do the math! The chance that eating gluten would be a “real” problem for you is about as likely as winning a Lotto jackpot.
Thank you for these delicious recipes! I was recently diagnosed with a gluten allergy after years of struggling with congestion. I’ve been looking for good recipes but there hard to find. Thank you for this! My mother gave me this book and I’ve really enjoyed some of the recipes in here:

Dear Health-Conscious Dessert Lover try this http://bit.do/dL4ZW
Dr.tell us about new research about celiac in 2019.any cure?any tablets, vaccine any new hope?
It’s pretty dumb to say that you should look out for tempura while eating sushi. That’s like saying look out for Caesar salad if you’re allergic to anchovies while eating in your pizza restaurant. It’s kind of obvious and not related to the item that you’re eating.
First off there is a lot more traditional Mexican dishes that are gluten free.
Fresh rice noodles are often made with rice flour and wheat based “corn” flour so are not gluten free.

uhmmm the rice vinegar used in the rice for sushi contains gluten.
I’m not celiac, but big amounts of gluten leaves me feeling really awful. I can eat soy sauce though.
Ummmm… You should have been more specific when talking about curry. Japanese curry is NOT gluten free.
Can this video also be good for Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity/ gluten Intollerance.??
I recently discovered that I had celiac disease and been looking up recipes without gluten or dairy. I then realized all my ads were about amazing foods containing gluten or dairy, I’ve never felt so bullied by YouTube before
