Daisy Brand: Cottage cheese from Daisy contains just three ingredients: cultured skim milk, cream, and salt. Low-fat cottage cheese includes those three ingredients plus vitamin A palmitate. According to the company’s Frequently Asked Questions page, all Daisy Brand products are considered gluten-free to 20ppm, or GF-20 levels.

Liquidity stuff is whey and the crumbley stuff is curds. Have you tried using lactic acid instead of the vinegar/lemon combo? Obviously not as “fuss free” but I’ve heard good things. And you asked for this but goat cheese. It’s the only thing I’ve not found anyone not making a decent replacement. You want a challenge. Make some goatless goat cheese. Lol

Dear Titli, this was amazing. I hardly ever follow recipes (too many ideas I’ve got when it comes to food:)), but this time I did and I can say this was the best lasagne I have ever had! The only change I made was that I prepared a thicker white cream with less milk and being Hungarian mixed in a small pot of sour cream.

I miss vegan cottage cheese so much. Most vegan cottage chese look so soupy from trying to replicate the whey it turns me off? What if you tried it with a little less (or at least half) of the soft tofu? And froze the firm tofu to increase the “curd” texture. Let me know your read on this or if you be willing to try this on your website. Love your recipes. Thank you for helping all of us to be that much more happily vegan with your lucious recipes.

I first made this with Soon soft tofu and half a block of firm and 1 tablespoon Nooch was too much. Hard to believe w Nooch but it was a light yellow color. Tasted ok but second time I used same tofu and half as much Nooch and it’s perfect! Thanks for the recipe!
The only concern I would have living in the states is that the corn starch is most likely made with GMO corn. If you live in the states please try and avoid products containing GMO corn as studies indicate it is very bad for your health. Great recipe titli:) I will have to try this as I think it looks absolutely amazing.

I love your vegan cottage cheese recipe! I’ve made it many times. If you’re out of fruit, it also tastes really good with Everything But The Bagel spice sprinkled on top.
My mother was on a gluten free kick for a while and she devised a gluten free lasagna using thin slices of zucchini or courgettes as the pasta substitute. I must say that though i’ll always be a fan of pasta, it was far from the worst thing i’ve ever eaten. It even served to brighten up the flavors of the dish quite nicely.:)

None. I remember how cottage cheese was 30 years ago (creamy consistent texture and didn’t taste like salt). Now cottage cheese is runny with huge curds and salty AF. It tastes like ass now and I am pissed, because I used to love cottage cheese and now it is disgusting running and salty slop. I’m sure it has to do with big companies buying up the smaller ones which actually had cheese masters of whom took pride in their products. There are some things that can’t be automated and cottage cheese is certainly one of them.

It might be worth mentioning to avoid pre grated cheeses. They are often dusted with super fine flour to prevent the cheese from reforming into a solid block in the bags at the grocer’s.

I will try this but instead of this meat filling I’ll use your lentil lasagna recipe, which I have already tried and it was yummy! I normally put a lot of leek in my lentil stews and they mix together perfectly so I’m sure a healthy lentil leek lasagna will also be delicious.

you look nothing like a hairy biker….but yes this recipe is delicious… I add mustard and a little garlic to the cheese sauce for a bit of extra ‘kick’…. my ex hated cooked carrot so I shredded the carrot into the mince mixture it just ‘disappears’… he knew nothing!!!:D
