My husband has a similar situation with wheat. He thought he had a problem with wheat because of his eczema reaction and cut it out for about 4 or 5 years. He like you saw the comments about people with gluten problems eating wheat abroad and being fine with it so he tried it as well. Since then, he’s been eating wheat from other countries and organic american wheat just fine. He now attributes his reaction to the amount of Monsanto glyphosate pesticide on the non-organic american wheat. He also has problems with gout and reduced ability to process folic acid in which glyphosate causes problems with. That also influences his reaction to highly sprayed glyphosate foods. Non-organic soy now is his most reactive food and it is also highly sprayed with glyphosate. He has had skin reactions to non-organic peanuts as well. Pretty much if you can’t wash the foods and it has been sprayed with glyphosate, he will have a skin reaction. He’s so happy he figured out the glyphosate connection as he now is able to enjoy all the foods as long as he keeps those things in mind.

Hi! Did you get joint pain? I been having tons of joint pain been put on gout medicine didn’t help, now I’m on methortrexate bc they think it’s psoriatic arthritis but when I started I cut out all of the gluten and now my joint pain is gone no attacks for 1 month. I don’t want to take this medicine if I don’t have too.
Interesting Ive been so critical of the GF movement up until now. I’ve struggled with major depression and anxiety since I was about 11 years old, but as an adult (31), I really really suffer with mood swings, adhd symptoms, brain fog, fatigue, as well as physical symptoms even when I don’t feel like I’m in a full blown depressive state. I wondered if I needed to be re-diagnosed but I don’t have access to therapy right now. Now I’m wondering maybe gluten is the culprit that makes my depression worse, not further comorbidities… thank you Doc!
Dr. Gundy I would like to see you and Dr.Joel Kahn have a long discussion on both of your views. You should reach out to him
I never liked kimchi, but I really like this one.

Is this video gluten-free? I don’t want to watch it if it’s not, I heard gluten is extremely unhealthy
You can “outgrow” allergies. I was diagnosed with “allergy to wheat” due to really severe rashes & vomiting. I don’t recall bloating which likely happened too, mainly the rashes and vomiting because they hurt. I was a child. The doc said, “You can switch her to rice but If you feed her wheat, maybe she’ll outgrow it.” So, my mother fed and I vomited..she fed and I got rashes..she fed and I had tummy pains. (Maybe she liked putting me in the bed early.) Eventually, I did outgrow it. So when my own daughter started the rashes / vomiting I knew what to prepare for. She outgrew and to this day loves breads as much as I do.
Did she really just recite government health propaganda like grains is the only way to get B vitamins. Maybe eat some veggies. Typical sheep, grains are full of pesticides-and heavy metals. Then people wonder why everyone has cancer smh lol
My daughter has a gluten, egg, & chicken allergy in addition to ASD, ADHD, PTSD, and severe GAD. She eats a great deal of processed gluten free foods plus sodas and Powerade. Drinking water makes her nauseous. She has a great deal of joint pain, headaches, sinus congestion and “dissociation” she calls it. She often has lymph node swelling which is how we discovered some of her allergies. Also IBS. She lost her health insurance after I became disabled and I’m wondering if she is having difficulty from more food allergies.
So happy for you. I am highly sensitive to soy, which is in literally everything. After I had my 2.5 year old, I started taking flaxseed for my breastmilk and my face broke out terribly in cystic acne. So I messed around with different supplement type things to “balance my hormones” and it made the entire situation worse. I figured out that everything I was taking was high in phytoestrogens and that’s what threw me off. Well now I’m highly sensitive to anything with phytoestrogens (flax, soy, nuts, legumes, even garlic and olive oil now.) The list goes on and on. If I slip up, my face breaks out horribly. Doctors just want me to take birth control, which isnt gonna happen almost 3 years later and here I am still on this super restrictive diet since I’m also dairy free. So, I totally understand the joy you must feel now that you are able to eat freely again. ❤
Wow, you poor thing, living with that for so long. 2 years ago, my now 5 year old broke out with a terrible bout of eczema. I took gluten and dairy out of his diet and his skin cleared up, but it took about 7 months. So now my son and daughter are both gluten free and dairy free. I’ve recently been having stomach issues and I’m afraid I have to give up gluten and dairy as well. My husband and I were still having some here and there…bread, pizza, cheese, etc. I think it will be difficult for me because I love bread and cheese. I did find that my kids can have raw milk from the local farm and raw cheese we find at the grocery store. I was just talking to my husband about seeing a naturopath. We have an integrative doctor nearby, so I need to get myself over there to be tested because I’m feeling fatigue, stomach issues and just generally not well.
Thanks for sharing your journey. Happy for you that you can enjoy sandwiches and cakes again
Wow! I learn so much from u. I learned from watching your PMDD video that I was misdiagnosed with major depressive disorder. Whenever i took antidepressants, i would feel better in 3 days and the docs kept telling me i was wrong and it doesn’t work like that. I was finally dx with PMDD last year and now i understand what those docs didn’t. I also used to suffer from eczema and AdHd and I used to get debilitating brain fog. I’ve had digestive issues since birth. I learned i was gluten intolerant in 2014 and it changed my life. No more eczema, fatigue, diarrhea, or brain fog. AdHd gone with this and avoiding most food additives. I also have hypoglycemia so…that contibutes to depression, anxiety, and AdHd symptoms… i went vegan and that completely changed. I used to suffer from random boughts of orthostatic hypotension and was told it was just my body. Going vegan changed that. I can jump up from lying down first thing in the morning now without collapsing. What a difference the right diet makes!
I want to cry with happiness for you!! Last few years I started getting rash too tried everything nothing would make it go away. I was unwell with toothache 2 yrs ago and was unable to eat and the rash started clearing out. That is when I realised it was food related. I cut dairy but still gor rash, then my sister said try cutting gluten and I did and wow yhe rash cleared but it is difficult because i love to cook and bake and I had to cut all.that amd go.gluten free and they are expensive too!! I initiallt went doctors, I had a male doctor who made a silly remark that it might be makeup related and said to me “i know as a woman its hard to give up makeup” I was soooo angry because he wouldnt even listen ti rest of the symptons! Anway I have nit have Gluten intolerance before, but your video has been helpful! Thank you soo much cxxxx
Dear Dr. Gundry thank you for helping me be healthier and understand fundamental mechanisms of life.
I would like to learn more on what someone can do in order to avoid or fight against (chronic) infections (like Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma, Chlamydia, HPV, Herpes etc) that are not considered fatal or very dangerous and some of them often require multiple cycles of antibiotics and are very difficult to eliminate.
Well… I’ll fart a lot with or without gluten.
And I’m proud of it.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!! This explains so much of all my symptoms and I’ve been searching for a reason for so long!!
After a long time I realised I have a gluten sensitivity that was really affecting my health and mental health.
I always felt incredibly tired, all the time, I had muscle pains all over my body, joint pains, an eczema rash that would come back over and over again. I would change my diet and still my digestion would be bad. I had terrible mood swings, irritability and depressive moods. My sinuses hurt, my neck was always stiff, daylight would be harsh on my eyes and I would have this brain fog making it really hard to think and concentrate on anything. That brain fog was probably the most annoying symptom because I could become so annoyed that even after having slept enough, drinking a coffee I would still have no energy.
Then my mom did extensive testing for allergies on herself. After a lifetime of pain, fatigue and other symptoms she was diagnosed with multiple allergies including gluten. I quickly looked up the symptoms for gluten sensitivity and I realised I had all of them. I changed my diet overnight and two years later I havent had the same complaints.
I really miss something so simple as a sandwich. I used to eat so much bread. I’ve gone of my gluten free diet multiple times to cheat and I feel the effects the days afterward. It’s not worth it. A gluten sensitivity does make eating out, buying food more difficult and expensive. And I have to explain myself to everyone every time because they are sceptical. I have done a simple test for gluten intolerance but it came up negative, however for me it’s very clear that it doesn’t do me any good.
docter am from pakistan and i suffered from dysthemia and then after one year of therapy i hit the full blown mania and now i am suffering from cyclothamia. i also suffer from ocd. but the major and genetic problem of mine is bipolar. i used sertraline hcl and antidepressent with anti pshycotic. but no good response. can you help me please.
This is a life changing video for me. After working out and eating very clean, I noticed that my stomach was always huge, bloated and in mild pain, no matter what. Then by chance I wondered if my constant bloated belly might be related to gluten(not just dairy), after observing someone avoiding gluten. I’m almost a week gluten free and I’ve felt a huge difference. I’ve almost got a flat stomach which is rare even though I’m slim already. Hearing that depression and adhd symptoms are related to gluten sensitivity made me realise gluten may have been the culprit all along!! I have adhd symptoms and depression so I’m looking forward to see where I am in 6 weeks!:)
I feel sorry for anyone who has celiac disease. It can really make your life shitty.
Do u have casein intolerance and did u have tonsillectomy as well, i want to know that does tonsil removal is common between people like us.
Thank you really much for the video! I have since 2 month this strange general malaise and I have sometimes stomach ache and some strange spasm, I feel also very tired and a bit sad and depressed and I really don’t know what it is. The doctor told me I have a bad vitamin d deficiency and a bit of Candida but now that I listen to this it may be this… isn’t it?
When people, with celiac disease (CD) and non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS), ingest gluten, their bodies react by producing excess of the hormone zonulin. Zonulin was discovered in the year 2000 by Dr. Alessio Fasano and his research team. Zonulin opens the tight junctions between the epithelial cells of the intestine. So, there is your long explanation of intestinal permeability.
Some people will get intestinal problems because they are sensitive to FODMAPs.
However, people with NCGS can get the same intestinal and extra-intestinal symptoms and conditions as people with CD. Here’s info from the National Institute of Health:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/29578652/
Isn’t it true that NCGS is a transient condition? If you’re not lacking the enzymes (intolerant) or diagnosed with Celiac, can’t you heal your gut and reintroduce it?
So in orher words, we must eat fiber from vegetables aren’ we? Thanks for this talk docs! Namaste!
Thanks for the video. I was bed bound. Completely debilitated. Sleeping 17 hours a night and being awake for 3 and needing to go back to sleep. Joint pain. The worst brain fog you could possibly imagine. I couldn’t even read. I went off gluten 5 weeks ago and it has completely changed my life. Add. Depression and every mentored symptom is now gone.
Thing I don’t get is whether these effects associated with gluten are due to gluten itself or due to people having killed off their healthy gut bacteria necessary for digesting gluten (with excessive use of antibaterials, that eventually make their way to the gut)? If its the later, then they should be associated with loss of gut bacteria, not with gluten.
I eat bread every day.but when I cut it out for a few days my brain fog goes. and start losing weight. I also feel less muscle soreness.
My goodness, I’m having all these symptoms mainly joints inflammation, headaches and depression. Even though I love bread and baking I have no choice but to try a gluten free diet. How long does it take to have the joint inflammation symptoms gone after starting this diet?
Interesting! I get really annoyed by the gluten free bandwagon, now it appears I might have to try it for myself! Time to eat humble pie on that one, may be!
I hate pasta because of this, my girlfriend likes my pasta so much, but it always makes us sick, tired, abdominal pain, gut inflamation.
Have all of it. Much more difficult than it may seem. Quinoa isn’t good, nor is millet…
Why anyone would choose to be gluten free makes no sense to me. I have celiac disease and I hate being gluten free
Hello, Doctor!
I went here wondering around youtube and I stayed for every video! I honestly hope you would do anything related to ADHD, cuz it’s topic in which people have very little knowledge. Also, subbed and waiting for new vids!
Cheers from Poland!
This was very helpful. I have a gluten sensitivity, too, but I can eat food from Europe with no trouble. I don’t get rash, but I often icky symptoms.
You are awesome! Your videos are very informative and important.
Impressive. Seriously impressive diagnostic information there, and it likely change many people’s lives who come into your office wondering what’s wrong with their memory.
I had to go to many, many (11) different GPs and ENTs (over 3-4 years) trying to figure out why my white blood cell count was so elevated, why I was extremely fatigued, with a constantly sore throat, incredibly painful lymph nodes, cystic acne (no family history of skin problems), memory loss, and recurrent yeast and sinus infections. One day I was on the subway going from Manhattan to Queens to the regular nail salon I’d been to dozens of times before over the previous 2 years. Once I was on the train, I could no longer remember what the correct stop was. I actually got off one stop BEFORE I was supposed to get off, and finally realized I had to get back on the train and go further. I realized how it must feel to have Alzheimer’s. I was 25 years old when that happened, and I was about to give up hope of ever having a healthy, normative life.
I got lucky a few days later when an acquaintance told me about a doctor who believed in preventative medicine that was just down the street from where we lived. She was the only physician able to connect the many dots. She read the questionnaire I filled out, listened as I answered her questions in her office, and in the exam room she asked me to open my mouth as wide as possible, and she looked inside, turning my head up toward the light and from left to right. Without doing any other tests she said, “You have food allergies, but let’s do some blood tests to confirm my hypothesis.” All the other physicians and specialists that had previously looked into my mouth at the inflamed red spots on either side of my epiglottis never made the connection. Nicolette Francey, MD quit practicing a few years later due to her own health issues, but she is still an author on health-related issues https://nicoletteasselin.com/
My blood work showed I had allergies to wheat, yeast, corn, barley, eggs, tomatoes, avocado, potato, watermelon, cantaloupe, and that was just the food allergies. My white blood cell count was so elevated they referred to it as an autoimmune response saying that my immune system was attacking my body and killing off red blood cells, causing anemia.
I would have to immediately begin a radical change in diet that was just the first part of the healing process. It was the foods I ate daily that were causing an immune response. The next step was to kill off the overgrowth of yeast in my intestines, and that took much longer. I not only took one tablet of Diflucan daily, but also Nystatin from a compounding pharmacy. This was hundreds of dollars of prescriptions a month, which was a lot of money back in the mid-90s…a lot more than that is today. The worst part of this 3-prong change was giving up all forms of sugar, including fruit of any kind. I did not embrace these changes but rather understood that if I wanted to live, I was going to have to spend at least 6 months being physically miserable, while all that yeast died off, and allowed my immune system to cease its attack, and then another year plus for the lining of my intestinal wall to regain at least some of its integrity so that things weren’t permeating the paper thin walls into my body causing yet another immune battle to commence.
I realize you are an MD, but you’re also a psychologist. The psychologist Dr. Francey recommended was a nice man, but he never made the connection, either, even with complete access to all my medical records. The fact that you have this information in your head and know it so well that you can effectively communicate it to others will be life-changing for people.
This is why I say your knowledge is impressive.
Had the 1st, 2nd or 3rd physician been a knowledgeable diagnostician, it could’ve saved me thousands of dollars and possibly prevented the full downward spiral of my health to the point that my own company’s corporate physician told me I was too sick to work. I ended up losing 2 full years of my life recovering, thousands and thousands of dollars…on my income alone…in one of the most expensive cities on the planet, and I had comprehensive 80/20 coverage. It’s no wonder I didn’t become homeless. I had very little savings being so young, and my company’s disability coverage barely covered my wildly inexpensive rent-stabilized studio apartment. What I did have was large credit card limits, and it was credit that allowed me to cover the prescriptions that killed of the yeast that was sucking the life out of me.
Thank you for the time you invested to learn this information. It’s one of the things that differentiates an ordinary MD from an extraordinary diagnostician. Some physicians seem to forget that their primary purpose is as an effective diagnostician. If the diagnosis is inaccurate, everything else is unlikely to be helpful and may even be more damaging than doing nothing at all.
I have gluten sensitivity issues as well. I have been gluten free for 8 years now and it makes a huge difference. The last couple of years though I have been experiencing severe joint pain and all the other symptoms mentioned in your video. Turns out that corn is the new evil for me and it’s worse than gluten because corn is in everything. This includes medications (corn starch, sorbitol etc). I now have to get my medications compounded. Corn is hidden in foods (flavors, spices, maltodextrin, sorbitol etc.) There is no laws that require corn to be listed, therefore they can hide it.
Thanks for the video! I have removed gluten out of my diet completely and I feel amazing, no more battling inflammation and depression.
Nobody can breaks down GLUTEN=inflammation i have it since childhood
This is research based on the microbiotagut brain axis? What other foods affect symptoms of depression or anxiety? Could omega fatty acids improve brain health for example and increase inhibitory neurotransmitters for anxiety?
Now this is interesting, I never knew that a sensitivity to gluten and having depression can be related. I have a sensitivity to gluten where if I eat past a certain amount such as if I eat too much bread or rice in a day or it can be within a period of a few days, I will get extreme abdominal pain. Sometimes the abdominal pain can be so bad that in the past I have had to just lie in bed because I cannot move with the pain. And painkillers don’t get rid of the pain.I also suffer on and off from depression and I get headaches quite a lot. So maybe it could all be linked. I don’t always get the depression symptoms though if I eat too much gluten, but I do very often get the abdominal pain
Wow you sing too? You should totally post a song of yours.
I have hypothyroidism.. I grew up heavy and lost weight as an adult.. I’ve never felt good.. 8 months ago I started treatment for hypothyroidism, and it was like omg, I can feel this good? I thought it was the answer, but I was still bloated all the time, my skin still had issues, brain fog, anxiety, depression. I have ptsd from childhood as well, I just assumed these symptoms had to do with that and not caring for myself as well as I should.. I started making dishes that were gluten free because I followed a blogger who cooks that way and noticed myself feeling better… so I went completely gluten free. My skin is better than it’s ever been, I’m starting to come out of depression and brain fog… it’s incredible. Honestly, if you have gluten sensitivity, you probably don’t even need to reintroduce gluten to “find out”, I know what would happen if I ate gluten again, so I won’t. You’ll be able to tell if you have it when you remove it from your diet.
I love it!!!
So much and important information from a very short video. THANKS!!!! I hope that you make more videos of this kind. If not: I still will follow you. Just watch the video in 3-4 parts because of the long time.
God bless you and your family
Hi Doctor,
I believe I have gluten sensitivity because it does cause me gastrointestinal issues like bloating and constipation. I have been diagnosed with anxiety, depression and adhd.
I am on my 6th week of fluoxetine and I am feeling full of energy. I want to do things -so far just cleaning, ironing, laundry… I have so much to catch up with.
My question is: The depression you are addressing in this video, is it a mild depression? Because I don’t think that gluten sensitivity can cause suicidal thoughts. Is that right?
I absolutely loooooove all your videos and them. I am so thankful for them.
Thanks for the talk,very interesting.
I eat the Bubbie’s sauerkraut to get my probiotics, it’s so good.
I don’t know if I am allergic to gluten but I know I feel better without it.
I’m very happy to hear that you are doing well and have some natural choices. I have been trying to find a naturopathic practitioner in my area.
Come on? Why didn`t you guys put the value about gluten bar from the research. 40% FODMAP and 37% Placebo. The difference is only 3% I can make a conclusion that FODMAP is a bull shit! At the same time if Gluten bar would give around 10% we can make a conclusion that it is GOOD to eat Gluten. So I really don`t understand why you`ve showed only a half of experiment results, even if the experiment was not perfect, as she says.
Wow! I did not know that it depends on where you get the wheat. That is so so helpful. I realize when I make my own banana bread I don’t get disturbed from it. But when I eat a regular toast I get affected. Maybe I have to try and buy wheat from a different country and bake at home. Thank you so so much. I really do benefit from it.
Girlfiend had consistent bloating several years ago… There I was, sweating like a pig, thinking the contraception stabbed me in the back… turns out she had another thing going on, called gluten-sensitivity…dietary change, et voila.
(of course an instant pregnancy test immediately disproved the 1st theory haha)
I tried this for a while. You’re right, it is not easy, but it did make a big difference in how I felt. I went mostly gluten free and was off antidepressants for 5 years and using supplements like D3 Bcomplex, Omega’s ect. It was just hard to keep up with it and it’s also expensive and not covered under insurance. I found if I fell off the wagon with it my depression would slip back in…I’d lose motivation to do all the work, exercise, nutrition…and back to square one. This last visit to the doctor, I started back up on the antidepressants. During my intake when I was asking for them. The nurse was asking me if I was still taking and she went through the list of supplements I was on. It occurred to me…I had been depressed since summer and that’s when I stopped. I don’t know what’s better because even the supplements have certain pros and cons. The biggest con was just price and my inability to keep it up. Antidepressants for a while to keep me steady and I will keep a log and report back. Honestly…I would like to understand the cause…is it gluten? diet? boredom? Past/unresolved issues? A curse? Lack of brain chemicals? PMDD? Perimenopause? Hereditary? Ancestral?
people without the celiac disease sometimes do feel better without gluten. it might work for your depression you would not be the first.
Dr. GIundy is a Jewish paid controlled opposition asshole traitor.
Seems to me, an impaired gut will let many antigens into the blood stream, not just wheat proteins. Repair gut to restore gluten and fodmap tolerance? Could be how restrictive diets help in general?
It’s an associated immune response. The quality of wheat is lower as food industry tries to make food cheaper. Cheaper and cheaper with worse and worse raw sources. Buy from reputable brands.
try to feel what’s best. Friggin scientific dark hole, that’s where we are…
Get the cat out of the bag, the culprit is roundup, the farmers spray it on almost all grains so they will dry faster so harvest times can be controlled and shortened. Buy organic, vote with your dollars!
Everyone I personally know that has sworn off gluten did so after feeling sick for quite some time (not sick like a cold really, more abdominal issues), Drs were unable to figure out why, they heard of and decided to try gluten free and voila issues resolved.
Unfortunately, they then began preaching it as a cure all just because it worked for them/their issue.
let me share my story some may relate to. im 40, ive been eatting regular american foods since childhood. in my teens i started getting canker sores and headaches. these followed me all the way through my 20s and upper 30s. fast foward to 30s. sore joints, hadaches(bad ones), brain fog, tired, depressed, wanted to be alone, not interested in doing stuff.( not all the time, but most) Then, randomly, usually at night, i would get excrutiating pains under my right rib. a quick ZAP pain. only lasted a second, but it would make me jump, or even fall to the floor. scary! scary enough to cause an onset of anxiety waiting and anticipating the next strike of pain to hit… lost weeks of sleep. it only happened a few times a year. Then one night it happened 2 times back to back. I had a friend over and they were like” yo what the fuck? you ok?” after that, i had this constant never ending dull tooth ache pain under my right lower rib. i dealt with it for months. ( all the time i was eatting regualar food) i still got headaches, my joints felt horrible all the time. but i blamed that on weight lifting. anyway i finally went to the doctor. im stubborn as hell. endoscopy showed some inflammation in my doudendum and a small ulcer and esphogal varices. ( swelling of the vessels in the esphogus). ultrasound showed nothing on the liver, kidney, pancreas, gallblader etc. bloodwork came back ok except SKY HIGH antibodies for gluten.. So doctor said “oh, stop eatting gluten” honestly the way i felt i was hoping they woulda found something more than that, cause that sharp zap pain is terrifying. I went gluten free for a year. ( headaches 99% gone, canker sores gone, pain under my right rib gone, although i do still feel little blips in the area….. Now, recently with this whole covid 19 thing and being laid off I have been eatting like shit.. compleltey lost my way. eatting mcdonalds, dunkin sandwichs, pizza you name it… what do you know…. slowly but surely, migraine came back where i threw up, joints feel horrible, and the pain in my rib is acting up again and i did get a little zap which has set my anxiety and depression on fire…. Please stay away from gluten. its fucking poison
I have diabetes and depression and stomach problem and asthma what diet I can use
I might have the same eczema sensitivity. I only eat kimchi if i make it myself. Store kimchi usually have msg and i’m sensitive to it. Unless, you find organic kimchi which cost more. I broke out with rashes for eating certain food. I didn’t eat eggs for a long time. The most important i changed in my diet is the salt. I threw away any salts that contained anti-caking and other bad chemicals. Using the right salt makes a big difference in my opinion.
Can you please let me know if the Lentein water lentil is a grass seed? I’ve begun taking Dr Eric Bergs “Veggie Solution” based on his recommendation. This product is supposed to contain the fiber with the green plant protein.

My wife has been dealing with Ménière’s disease for several years. Is there help for her with the Longevity Paradox program?
Studies on diets only convince me If the complete food diary or list is published as well. My patients have to keep a diary on food and Symptoms for 2 weeks. This helps to identify problematic foods and shows the interconnection between diet and symptoms.
I only see lasting positive results in my patiens if their diet is sugar-free, high-glycemic fruits-free, dairy-free, absolutely all grains-, glutenand gras-free, lektin-free, food-additives-free and most importantly toxinand pesticide-free.
Going wheat free is (bar celiac sufferers) more important than “gluten free”, since I don’t think either rye or barley are nearly as bad for us as wheat. I find German rye bread (notwithstanding the lectins etc) that has no wheat at all to be fine on my digestion.
Good video doc! It’s too bad that the pseudo-scientific/quantifiable self movement has such an affinity for gluten. As if it’s the solution for everything.
Dr Gundry I’m so very glad to have found you.
I am a 48 year old overweight mother or 12-year-old twins, I suffer from leaky gut, but I also recently had a gallbladder attack where surgeons wanted to remove my gallbladder, I refused and am now terrified of all fats and oils and I do not know what to do or eat, all I know is that I want to keep my gallbladder can you help me please, my plan was to do ANDREAS MORITZ liver and gallbladder cleanse, but my last ultrasound showed one stone that is 3 cm in diameter. I don’t know what to do. love and best regards
Nadine Simpson.
Doesn’t a persons sensitivity to foods depend initially on their blood type? Doesn’t each blood type create it own distinct immune system? Didn’t Hypocrates teach this thousands of years ago?
I was on a keto diet for quite some time and felt great. After losing the weight, I decided to reintroduce some carbs, including bread. Two days later, I had this sudden sadness that I used to have before, feeling blue for no reason. I instantly recognized that old familiar feeling and now I think it was the gluten. I will continue to reintroduce carbs, but gluten free only. Thank you!!!

Thank you for this simple and excellent video. The best I have found so far.
I have just discovered you can live without a stomach, colon and a good portion of your small intestine. I understand your small intestine should be clean and free of microbiome to function properly or you would develop SIBO. When healthy your colon should be the home of your microbiome, how does the Microbiome adapt if your colon is removed?
Thank you so much for this information! You made it so easy to understand!
I hope you enjoyed this clip from my interview with Dr. Perlmutter. I will be posting these podcast mini-clips more consistently to bring attention to the health topics that are SO important, that they’re simply worth repeating. Are there any health topics that you would like to hear more about in future episodes? Let me know in the comments!

Can u please do a video on the different fibres. and the benefits of fibre. iv looked and u dont seem to have a video about fibre.
It is so refreshing to hear a psychiatrist who is not only knowledgeable about psychiatric disorders and medications to treat them, but also knows about nutrition and how food sensitivities can mimic mental disorders. I am trying to get back on the ketogenic diet, which eliminates all grains and other sources of carbs. When I am in ketosis my depression almost completely disappears. I have been officially diagnosed with bipolar 2, but during a 10 day stay in the psych unit several years ago the psychiatrist on duty said he thinks I have BPD. I have done a lot of research on BPD, and as rude as that psychiatrist was to me, I think he is right. I don’t know if a report got sent to my psychiatrist or not. Anyway, my depression and anxiety symptoms are much more manageable when I’m in ketosis. I just find it really hard to stay on keto, even though I initially lost 30 of the 103 lbs I gained since I started taking Seroquel. I think the only way for me to stop craving sugar and carbs is to go 100% carnivore.
Gluten free diets doesn’t eliminate other types of lectins and processed foods. Let alone pesticide free blablabla
I really think there’s a lot in nutrition and I and I have learnt a lot from this channel thank you ever so much for making these entertaining and informational videos. Thank you you.
Dr. Gundry, I would love to see a video of yours on heavy metals, which, in my opinion, at a cellular and systemic levels are often at the root of many disorders/diseases, as they suppress detox pathways, disrupt the cellular machinery by binding to proteins, cause redox disbalance, and in small amounts lower the body’s tolerance to any type of other toxins and irritants, as well as bioaccumulate throughout life and might be a very substantial part of cellular aging and general aging.
These contaminants are at an all time high because of industrial wastes that are now abundantly found in every type of food we consume, and it feels like, humanity doesn’t really understand the hazard of heavy metals… they are extremely difficult to clean from the environment and even more difficult to detox from the human body safely.. This to me is the insanity of a gifted species without perspective humans.
I recently was diagnosed with sjogrens. I am educating myself but I am completely overwhelmed. I was hoping you could do a segment on sjogrens. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
You are such a sweet and classy lady. I started watching your vids on HS and now I just watch everything even if I don’t think it pertains to me. Mad love!
Could you please do one on symptoms of Lupus? A family member of mine is suspected to have it
Very informative video. I was wondering if there was any correlation between Gluten sensitivities/ Celiac disease and Hidradenitis?
I had digestive problems after being bitten by a bug in Spain 14 years ago (my immune system went into overdrive). Over the past 2 weeks since cutting out gluten I am 100% better.
