Just found you and am OBSESSED with your videos! Such great info! What’s your thoughts on macadamia nut milk??
My experience is the Ripple coffee cream has a strong pea aftertaste. If you’re not a fan of peas like me I would stay away.
So I’m really confused guys, can someone help me? The Oatly low fat has 7g of added sugar but there is no sugar in the ingredient list so where is it coming from? If it was just regular sugars I wouldn’t question it but it’s listed under the added sugars. Someone please help me out, thank you.
Just wondering do I need to cook the rice or does it not matter? Thanks
What do you recommend for someone who is allergic to tree nuts and lact dairy is not good either, are the options?? I tried soy milk few times but I’m hearing it is not good for male testerone levels
Hi Bobby what about Trader J Soy milk could you please make a video about other shopping place thanks
what about this product called joi? has anyone tried it or researched it? is it good or bad?
Here is an idea. Always make you plant base milk. It’s 2-3 ingredients and it less waste. Plus you know what got into it
Laughed my ass of reading the title, couldn’t help myself after a long day at work and reading NUT MILK
Waited for the whole video for Bobby to talk about the unsweetened GoodKarma flax milk and get a 1-second clip of a photo of the protein version, come on it was even in the cart!!!
I am trying to get as close to sugar free as possible, but really starting to miss my chocolate chip cookies by the roll. Started going to Tropical smoothie: just have to ask for no sugar in the smoothies.
Almond milk is really bad for the environment. It uses so much water
I’m confused by the flax milk. Why flavored? I drink the unsweetened.
Hello, Great video in the beginning you said Diamond almond breeze milk was not good then you said it was better than the shelf Product. So is it safe to drink or not? 1:19
Thank you for keeping my triglycerides low. I am now sensitive to buying those with sugar.
I finally find out why I have indigestion these days after having barista oat milk for two weeks.Thank you!!
Art need to stay behind the camera with that goofy grin on his face, dude popping outtakes no where to get his 20 seconds of fame.
I am trying truli almond milk anyone try this brand before and is it good?
Chocolate milk is going to have sugar, you can’t just take out the sweetener.
I grew up drinking cow milk but I stopped drinking it since it messes with my stomach, now I really love oat milk, almond, & soy milk although I haven’t tried cashew.
I would love to know your thoughts on pistachio milk/ Three Trees milk!
there’s “nature flavor” on the ingredient list of Ripple Original Unsweetened Dairy Free Pea Milk…
as yummy as it is, no one really needs chocolate milk anyway
I’m curious why is there so much sugar in coes milk(is that sugar added ).and if so is that’s why all these new milk alternatives are out
Great video. I just want to say that oils themselves are not emulsifiers. An emulsifier is like sunflower lecithin, which helps to bind water and oils.:)
You know I like your videos but I found out that ripple milk has natural flavor that you’re been warning us to avoid how is it safe for kids????
I’m so bumbed, thinking unsweetened Macadamia milk was good for me. Now I have zero optiona on milk substitute because I dislike almonds, coconuts and oats. sigh……
Hmm what about Macadamia Milk vs Almond? Thomas Delauer is a HUGE fan of Mac (and Coconut). Or are they both just as great?
I would be very interested to hear/read what Bobby/FlavCity’s opinion is on GButter I personally love the stuff!
Ripple has natural flavors in it I went to target to buy it and checked the label and it’s literally in the ingredients how is that safe for ppl especially Kids
Thank you for letting people know about the perils of Soy milk. It is heavily promoted as the best milk alternative to milk. Any woman who is prone to internal cysts finds out the hard way how perilous Soy products are.
I hate this guy but he knows his shit. I always come back to him because he is thorough with explanations, but he definitely irks me haha I like Art though.
It IS awesome that there are so many options now. I was as Sprouts over the weekend and now their vegan yogurt section is larger than their dairy yogurt section. The yogurts are made from all sorts of milk including oat, flax, almond, etc. Its a great time to be vegan for sure.
can you send me any research that claims soy increases estrogen
can you send me any research that claims soy increases estrogen
Milk contains iodine which is needed for cognitive child development.
Be careful with this.
Calcium and proteins occur naturally in milk. Conversely, soy is fortified hence not easier to absorb.
Almond is low in protein.
Just choose lactose free milk if you need to.
I just started using Silk protein, almonds, cashew. Unsweeten, high in protein.
Listening to George Gilders Wealth and Poverty #GeorgeGilder
Way to ruin my favorite brand of almond milk for me right off the bat!!
I am doing almond milk now and it’s so good to me just like cow milk
Never talked about the dangers of natural flavors. Most of these drinks have natural flavors. I wished he would have explained that. Natural flavors can have up to 30 ingredients just to make the milk taste good. The sad part is they don’t have to tell us what natural flavor really is.
Great job, I started watching your channel couple weeks ago and I love it, I used to do bodybuilding and I had to read and investigate every product before I buy anything and you doing this research but in a deeper level educating everyone with names of the chemicals and what they are, keep up the excellent job and God bless you, your family
and your baby.
Ridiculous take on soy milk. Please do your research. Trader Joe’s organic unsweetened soy milk is under $2, has only two ingredients (soy beans and water), 90 calories and 9g protein per serving all without tasting like chalk. It doesn’t really get better than that
Hello,
Have you done research on probiotic supplements? If so, which one would you suggest?
Thanks for your videos.
Something to consider: there isn’t a lot of nutritional difference between organic and non-organic. The process it undergo’s after it is harvested means that nearly all the pesticides etc. are washed out.
I just bought rice milk I’m so excited to taste it ❤️♀️♀️
Best channel by far! I wish I would watch this channel ages ago.
Why do I have like two brands in Poland… Also 7% of us are vegan it’s the highest percentage in the world, so weird
I wish I liked pea milk, but it was so disgusting LOL.. I threw the whole bottle of Ripple away.. t_t
New Barn Unsweetened Almond milk is the bestbetter tasting than Malk which is my fallback when they are out of NB and it froths also. Just my opinion,
Does the sunflower oil in the ripple milk make it bad to drink or is it still okay to drink? I’m trying to find the best way to get calcium without diary products
I love watching you for your food reviews & 2nd bc your shorts are the BEST
Are dates ok to eat three or four a day as a desert with pecans, thankx
Oh boy oh boy. SOYMILK getting the bad rap again (Organic only) please read the article from Dr. WILLIAM Le on Soy milk.
The almond milk recipe you mentioned in your video recommends buying almonds from Costco. Those almonds however are not organic.
I eat Brown Cow Yogurt. I love the creamy texture. is there a similar brand that might be better for me? that is just creamy?
Bobby we are trying to buy vitamins during this coronavirus crisis. But a lot have junk and sugars. Can you do a video on the best vitamin brands? Help!
hat’s the best non-dairy milk for frothing? I need my cappucino! Thx!
Hi question, if I wanted to make a cold or hot coffee or matcha latte what do you recommend? If I used canned coconut milk do you recommend watering it down?
Bobby is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly! You rock Bobby!☝️
I just came across your channel I freaking love you. It is so simple so easy to follow thank you thank you thank you. You help me with the perfect peanut butter and now you helping me with the perfect milk. I can’t afford to soak almonds and make my own thank you again I am a new subscriber and I freaking love you.❤
Walking dead is happening corona virus so many warned before hand
Bobby, Ive bought some Pacific organic almond milk beverage (in the carton) for during this pandemic. May I refrigerate these (unopened) cartons??
I made oat milk too!! Love this recipe!! Thanks for sharing it!!
I love oat milk use it for everything and I love to just drink it.
I would describe your remaining Pulp as a Hot Dog size amount. Are you going to try the other forms of Oats like Groats, Steel Cut or Quick Oats to find out which ones have the least amount of Pulp left over? Thanks for being so energetic, excited and Happy while recording this for us!
Yum so simple and frothy! We do 5 second nut milks at home with nut butters!
hellor i am an oat please dont eat me im a oat im a oat im a oat
I love oat milk and I use it for everything! It’s one of my favorite ones
With this recipe WTH have we been drinking puss milk this whole time lol
OMG you had me at peanut butter milk. Never in my life thought of that. That bottle you used is really cute. Reminds of when milk used to be delivered to homes.
What cleaning supplies do the job and are good to use without damaging the environment? Can you do a video about that please. I know you focus on food only but with this COVID 19 I would like to know.
I really need to try this! I don’t use a lot of non dairy milk right now but if I need it, I’ll definitely use oats!
I feel like they should have shown whet brands they used, because that makes a HUGE difference. For example, the Brand SoDelicious is terrible, in my opinion. Also, personally I prefer Blue Diamond Almond Breeze almond milk over others. I’m a bit disappointed they didn’t show oat milk though.
You hadn’t drink milk until you actually drank a European unpasteurized milk!! To me, milk that don’t come out from a cow shouldn’t be considered milk.
This is just what I’ve been looking for,as oat milk is my favourite plant based milk.I spend a fortune a week on this and this would save a lot as well as without all the packaging and additives and stuff it entails.Great recipe and will be trying this for sure.
I believe our teeth are made of calcium phosphate and its the stuff that lines our arteries in the brain and body. What do you think?
I have made oat milk with cashews..it was good but it separates so you have to shake it. I think Im going to try it plain like your recipe….Thanks Ashley!!
Thanks for sharing! I need to try this. What filter do you use under your sink?
Hi guys! I get asked all of the time if the process to make almond milk is the same as cashew milk (my personal favorite). And there is a slight difference. So today I wanted to show you how to make almond milk at home! If this is your nut milk of choice, now you won’t have to buy it from the store again. Happy Sunday! xo Lisa
This is the second video so I literally have to wait for my almond to soak up water no ok then I will have to wait for tomorrow this is a big Boohoo from me I will be having this for breakfast really really nice
almond milk is the best im happy to know you can make it, at the store is cost like 3.50 ima make it tmr
do you HAVE to strain the almond milk? i don’t have a nut milk bag or cheesecloth. are there any other subtitutes that work? thank you in advance
Didn’t the nutritious stuff and vitamins goes to the darined water.
Instead of use a new water wouldn’t it better to wash the almond before it soaked, then use the soaked water to blend it all together.
can you heat this milk or does it only have to be used cold? I’ve heard you cant heat some as it would turn slimy
What of someone puts the almonds away in the water and forgets about it and they keep growing
Hi Lisa, I recently discovered your channel and am so glad I did. I can’t wait to try some of your tips and tricks on recipes and meal prep. I was wondering if you ever drink “golden milk” (turmeric milk). I have been reading about it and seems like it’s incredibly beneficial to overall health. If you do, would you mind sharing your recipe/version of it?
It’s hard for some of us to justify a $600 vitamix. I make it with an inexpensive ‘bullet’ mixer. It just takes longer. I don’t mean to be combative, just want ppl to know they can live with one less expensive kitchen tool. Also, if you have a small kitchen it’s hard to store a lot of gadgets. Maybe I’ll try in my food processor and will let you know. Thx for your vids.
When you soak your almond water did you put it in the fridge or room temperature?
why we can’t use the same water we rest all the night that don’t give a lot of more flavor?
I hope you’re also sourcing you raw almonds from a good source since all commercial almonds are treated with the fumigant propylene oxide to prevent contamination by salmonella bacteria. Propylene oxide is use in making polyurethane plastics. I personally stay away from almonds. And don’t get me started about roasting them.
Why do she have a vitamix if she’s gonna strain the pulp, I have a vitamix and i blend it for a few seconds and the pulp is gone, you can not feel the texture from almonds spinach…
Few points
1almond milk to be kept in refrigerator or at room temp.. what is shelf life
2initially i made the milk and it went well. Past few times it sort of goes bad -greenish water separates from solids. What could i b doing wrong pl?
Please help! My first few batches were great in consistency. But now, almost all of my batches are so foamy I can’t even fill up half of my milk jar. My theories were: soapy nut milk bags, soapy vitamix container, or maybe blending too much? But I’ve made sure to fix all of those just in case…it hasn’t helped. Is this normal?
I love you SO MUCH for this. Another fantastic way to use my Vitamix!! Thank you!!!
Im a cow milk drinker and im honestly so excited to try this. Im not a big fan of cow milk at this point so i hope this one becomes my new thang!
Idk what happened i followed the recipe but the almond milk tasted like bad milk
Can I use a strainer vs a cheese bag to drain the milk? Similar to the strainer u were using to rinse the almonds off?
how long can you use it? One week is enough before get expire?
My daughter did it but it went bad really fast, any idea why?
I need to watch food vlog that doesn’t show faces of the vlogger
Does it have more or less calories than cow milk? And also, how long can we use it?
This is fine and good, but it is NOT cost-effective, unless you grow your own almonds. I can go to Costco and spend $7.50 for a half gallon of almond milk or spend $12.00 on almonds to make the same amount on my own. Home made oat milk is far more cost-effective.
soo they dont breastfeed thier babies.. satan must be proud
That was stupid easy I will have to try it. I have some oatmeal, I just have to get a nut milk bag.
When you are so ready to make it and then you hear overnight
Hello! I really love your videos
Can someone tell me want the powder is? English is not my main language. Thank you so much. Love for all
Can’t believe how much money I spend on Almond milk. Wow! Didn’t know it was so simple to make.
Thank you for this recipe! I just did this and waiting for it to get chilled. ❤️
My question is how long it takes to strain the milk through the nut bag?
Thanks for sharing the recipe. How long we can store it in the fridge?
Hi Lisa! Is it normal for the milk to look like it is separating while in the fridge? Or did I do something wrong?
Very easy great recipe…I’m never gonna buy packaged almond milk now.. This is pure and healthy.
woooootttttzzz a lotzzz of vltradeliciovzzz vegan milkzzz in one place i havent tried them all but i’m sure i love hazelnut milk the most i also love everything with hazelnut vegan cakes, creams, smoothies, hazelnut ice cream woooooofffff woooooofffffff
Hi dear i have roasted almond at my kitchen, should i soak it overnight too?
Can we use in cooking oats. And whats the shelf life of this milk
Great video!!! Aren’t you suppose to peel the almonds? I see that some people Perl the skin after soaking…..
Awesome recipe, thank you! I am wondering though, how do you make up for what’s lost nutritionally when considering swapping homemade for the fortified nut milks offered in stores? Also, any budget friendly tips on acquiring enough almonds to do this regularly, because bulk nuts are very expensive in my local stores. Thanks!
the fact that y’all squeeze it thru a cheese cloth without gloves or something on…
Hello ma’am. Thanks for the informative video; much love from South Africa. I noticed you use a half a cup, how’s much almond milk did that yield?
I remember I read something bad about the skin of the almonds, you should peel them off before you crush them so its safer =)
I started making my own milks and creams when I didn’t like the “natural ingredients” or HEK-293 commercial companies began putting in their products. This has been a wonderful experience. My favorite is Brazil nut milk. I got the nuts at Trader Joe’s. I used the recipe for almond milk with the milk-nut-bag process.
I also make the creamer and add Nielson-Massey peppermint or orange extract to flavor it.
If someones wonder what almond milk tastes like without any sweetness or anything. It tastes like expired milk with almonds
Wow – it’s very expensive to make your own cashew or almond milk. About $10 a quart. Is drinking nut milks that I buy in the store so bad for me? Would love your opinion.
That looks really nourishing and healthy, Thanks for the video.
I’m definitely trying this! I go through almond milk so much in my house
Looks good but… what to do with the pulp?! This always gets me…
Hi.thank you.but can i know about the blender of u ?? I like it??
Which plant-based milk is your favorite and which one is your least favorite? My favorite nut & seed milk is hazelnut milk and my least favorite is sesame seed milk (as I find it too bitter).
i discovered your channel 30 minutes ago. your voice and recipes soooooo good. recipes looks simple. congrats and loves from turkey
looking forward to hazelnut and pistachio milks, but! oats milk is hands down the winner for me, plus its cheaper that nuts (esp. pine nuts:)
Hi
I am Trying to be dairy free here in India where we have very less options available..almost nothing..like almond and soy are just entering the market which are with sugar and super expensive like if normal milk is 50 per lit this is 300/ So your video is a blessing.Thanks. I have one problem though.i do not get the product you added after straining the milk.can you give me a alternative or should I just skip it..?
Hi. Is it possible to thicken the coconut milk as well by heating?? Please answer
Can you do a video where you compare how they froth on an espresso machine I’ve been trying to find a homemade nut milk or vegan milk that I can make lattes with
@NutritionRefined Petra, how do you make Oat milk that is not slimy? Mine tastes good but is very slimy, especially when kneading it through the nut milk bag.
8:00 “Peas grow in the ground”
uhhh……
and why is everyone so scared of GMO. Everything is GMO. Thats why there are different kinds of apples, peppers, dog breeds etc.
Hi) I’m not very good in English, what did you add in milk to put it together?
Idk how they make it but they sell pea milk at my grocery store! You should try it out id love to see that lol
What kind of sunflower lecithin is best to use, I would like to make flaxseed milk and also can I use it in any plant base milk I make?
What’s that powder you put in the end before again blending???
I think they added water way to much in them like obvsly if water is more then actually stuff how is suppose to taste good I mean I drink cashew milk, coconut milk etc and they are delicious
Like your video and thanks for doing this kind o content.
Coconut is not a fruit is a Nut… Coco NUT
Is it possible to freeze those milks? I would love to make a big batch of almond milk and then freeze it (less cleaning haha) I hope it freezes well?
Great video as always!!
Thank you for this. If we have fresh coconut here in Philippines. What should i do pls?
So to neutralise any strong flavours, why not mix lots of nuts together.
Increases nutritional profile.
Hi! Have you ever tried making almond milk from almond butter? And also, have you already cooked any baked recipe using the almond pulp leftover? Thank you! Love your videos! ❤
can we use soy lecitin or liquid sunflower lecitin? I can’t find powder sunflower lecitin were i live
I have made my own coconut milk and almond milk. I haven’t tried the others yet I look forward to trying them.
One word of caution about almonds — any bought in the stores or supermarket have been pasteurized. There are several methods of pasteurization, but the most common one uses a chemical called propylene glycol which is carcinogenic.
I get my UNPASTEURIZED almonds through Amazon. The company that offers the unpasteurized ones is Terrasol.
Just buy organic is not enough to protect you. The word organic refers to how things are planted. Pasteurization is something happens AFTER they are harvested.
If they are pasteurized, it doesn’t matter whether or not they are organic.
My fav is coconut and almond but prefer coconut seems to be more a clean taste. But all can be great
This video is so aesthetic and relaxing to watch.:) Love the process of water and seeds become milk!
After seeing this, i already tried almond, sunflower and pumpkin seed milk all were fantastic.:) Now I’m curious to try out coconut milk.
Sei molto brava. Mi dispiace non poterli fare non capisco la tua lingua.
Hey what was that power u added in nut milk n where will I get that thanks I’m from India n love ur channel
Honestly speaking, I am absolutely love plant-based milks. My favourites are soy milk, almond milk, tigernut milk (due to its natural sweetness and high fiber content), sesame milk (because of the high calcium content), flaxseed milk, oat milk and (very recently) coconut milk (I use it for curries, homemade yogurts and desserts like cheesecake).
I tried brazil nut milk, but it wasn’t for me, plus I’m not a fan of hemp. But hey, I’ll have a go at brazil nut milk again when I get the chance.
However, the next ones that I’ll try making are: hazelnut milk (perfect for Dairy-free hot “chocolate” at Christmas yum ), peanut milk, cashew milk, walnut milk, pecan milk, apricot kernel milk, chia seed milk, poppy seed milk, sunflower seed milk, pumpkin seed milk, macademia milk, and brown rice milk.
Btw, I have heard of pea milk, and I was wondering if it is possible to make milk out of chickpeas, lentils and other beans (e.g.: adzuki beans, mung beans and black beans)?
What about poppy seed milk? I read that it has lot of calcium.
Great video as usual. I would love to see you do rice and oat milk. What about soy milk? Is that possible?
Do you have some ideas for how to use the solid part after straining the milk? I wouldn’t like to throw it away. Thank you!
Hello, That is a very good idea about dairy free milk. Very informative. Every time the notify button alert me, Here I go. lol.
Just one question please can you tell me the name of your sunflower lecithin. I am search and from my understanding the best one is organic, and cold pressed, sunflower lecithin. I live in UK, but could buy in any part of the world, I supose. It is very difficult to find, unless I pay £80 pounds for 1 kg (it was the only one I found). That is to much. Thank for the help you can give to me. Continue with these and other videos that you post, they are very good.
Fantastic video, extremely helpful and motivating to try plant based milks. I became very motivated to try some. I wonder what buckwheat milk tastes like…my only reservation is that I have read that pulverizing the goats with water will eventually create oxidized fats. Thanks for the video
Another great video Petra. I’m on my way to the supermarket for make coconut and hazelnut milk
Could you please put a link on where you buy your lecithin. The one I bought from Amazon has a strong chemical smell and taste, I had to trash it.
Muchas gracias, me encantan y me ayudan mucho tus videos!
Te mando un saludo!
FANTASTIC breakdown! Thank you! Also appreciate the tip about sunflower lecithin. Will be trying my hand at plant-based milks again.
All the milks looks delicious. I never thought about using some of the other nuts and seeds to make milk. Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions.
Thank you so much with this video!! I was talking about the vegetal milks we can do with a close parent and here you bring the subject which makes the summary so… of course, I will send the video
Thank you for your videos, so calm and informative. The taste test is always my favourite part. I’ve never tried making plant milk at home as every cloth that is in my home for 3 minutes gets covered in cat hair and that’s not very appealing for straining through xD
Thank you for including seed milks. I’m sensitive to nuts and coconuts, which makes my dairy-free options more restricted. I love hemp milk.
Petra…you are a genius!
Imagine occasionally adding blended fruit and/or spices! The possibilities are endless.
Coconut milk with blended pineapple…etc, etc, etc.
Yummy!
I love your videos ❤️My favorite is cashew milk because it’s creamy!!! They are all good though
I love how easy to prepare these are, and that you include advice about soaking and rinsing pertinent to categories of nuts and seeds. Thanks For Posting: )
I’m allergic to every kind of peanuts but I can’t stop myself for making this
Here is my formal request for more videos like this! I really enjoyed this format. The two recipes in one, the facts/cost breakdown. It makes this video such a great all-in-one resource!
I’ll be sharing it with friends new to the nut milk scene 😉
Thank you so much for these kind of videos, you make life easier ❤
Petra I’ve realised they are all done the same way as long as you have a cheese cloth,to go with, it, by the way have you post about homemade vegan heavy cream yet or not?,about the vegan butter I’ve already saved it,thanks again.
I would love the know the ratios of nuts/seeds to water that you specifically used! Then, I could adjust to my taste and create my own personalized and tasty recipes!
I dunno why I love watching videos of things I’ll never make myself.
Love your videos…I think the best on YouTube hands down! Do you have a video or if not can you make a video on what to do with the ground up nuts left over.
Hello, I have made oat milk several times and it always comes very slimy is there anything you can add to this so this wouldn’t happen very discouraging!!!
Store one tastes just like sugary water, homemade is so much better!
Thank you!!! What about oat milk, how do you remove that type/kimd of mucus that appears?
I’m so glad you didn’t add soy to this list because all soy in USA is GMO. This video was well put together, especially, about phytic acids in some and not in others. Well done.
Thank you so much! I made some almond milk yesterday…it’s amazing!
Thank you, do you have a suggestion in place of bananas,? I love bananas but not in cookies. Anything else but fruit
Thanks I am trying to be dairy free..here in India we have no option of plant based milk and if there are in speciality stores they are too too expensive..one suggestion try making a dry powder of the almonds before adding the water and blending..it is easier to blend
I love that you said homemade tastes better.. love almonds… can not stand store bought almond milk! Not sure why but it just has an off flavor to me. I am making my own now and needed ways to use the pulp.thank you
What flour can I substitute the coconut flour? Thanks for your response
I like your video, it is easy steps to follow… Thumbs up for you
Hey, great weekend instructions! Gonna make it today for the first time. But now have a question any idea how much calories such milk has? I mean the pulp I guess makes up the most caloric part, but doesn’t the fat go into the liquid? Really curious how to calculate this…
You inspired me to make almond milk for the first time ever!! Thank you for the recipe for the almond pulp cookies!
Hi! I have been making my own almond milk, but it doesn’t taste right unless it is very fresh. I have not used salt. Maybe the salt and some added sweetener would act as preservative? Is it possible to soak the almonds too long? I took the skins off, but that was time-consuming and didn’t improve the taste or keep-ability. Any ideas?
How much of each ingredient do you use for the cookies? I checked your web page for the recipe but it does not indicate the quantities.
Very very nice job on this video…..extensive and detailed
Would it work using soy bean pulp? I never know what to do with it when I make soy milk…
So, I just read an article about how all almonds in the United States are pasteurized, which technically makes them not raw. Are these what you use, or do we need to hunt for an imported almond that is actually raw?
just wondering,, i put my pulp back through with more water it is not as creamy but a little thinner is that ok to do… i only have a ninja and after 2mins blending the milk becomes warm is that ok or does this hurt the milk
why not use the water they been soaked in? i think the milk is gone be more creamy this way
For you:
If u don’t have coconut flour, flax seed etc…
Heres my delicious recipe:
Ground oats
Bananas
Honey
Almond pulp
Vanilla extract
Almond/peanut butter
Chocolate chips
(you guys can use your own measurement)
Absolutely love this video, I do have one question though, what can i use in place of maple syrup (i do not have agave as well) both these things are not easily available where i live and are crazy expensive. what would you recommend?
Love your videos but I need to point out something. As far as I understand, soaking nuts and legumes eliminates phytic acid content by activating the enzyme phytase (which breaks down phytic acid). Soaking also activates amylase which breaks down complex starches in grains making it easier to digest. So discarding the soaking water (which doesn’t have phytic acid in it) won’t provide additional benefits. On the contrary you might be missing out on some water soluble nutrients. Appreciate the amount of work you put into this. Great editing and aesthetics as well.
Hi! I am really loving these recipes especially the basics since I’m starting from SCRATCH! Would you be willing/able to do a video about things you keep on hand in your pantry at all times, and how you store/use them? Or if you’ve already done this somewhere, can you point me to where that might be? Thank you!
hi loved it but is there an alternative to using banana’s in the cookie mix?
I tried almond milk for the first time, and now I’m in love with it. Definitely going to make a batch every week.
Can i use honey instead of maple syrup for the cookies?
Also, any alternative for coconut flour?
i eat mostly vegan, and you dont just drink plant based milk to be honest. I mean I’d have it with cookies but you don’t really drink it straight
The video is great, thank you. The cookies baked without egg and margarin?
what is that white flour she added after flax seed flour? i couldnt catch it
I just found your channel and subscribed. I havent watched yet. I will though.
peel of almond should peeled for better milky taste or flavour.
This is one of best plant based milk video! Great work Caitlin
Hey Caitlin! Thanks for the amazing video! Very complete, even for me to that am.used to make almond milk several times during the week, I was able to learn a lot! But I do live at Brazil, and here there is no maple syrup available, only if imported. Do you have any substitute suggestions? Thanks in advance and regards from Brasil
Can another ingredient be substituted for the bananas, my husband has a potassium restriction? Thank you for the video very helpful ♀️
Great recipe! I used rice or buckwheat flour instead of coconut flour and omg delish. I used to throw away the pulp.
Question what can you do with the coconut pulp after making coconut milk?
Hi! I did this but the next day the milk was smelling so bad even though I put it in the freezer… it looked like the water and almond milk were separated… Can anyone help with any advice?:/
I used 1 cup almonds to 4 cups water and it is definitely more watery than store bought? Maybe I should have soaked it for 24 hours instead of 6? Or maybe once it sits in the fridge overnight it’ll thicken…
Oh gosh I’ve just made those but with cashew pulp (had only that on hands) and wow they are the best cookies i have ever eaten! Will definitely do the recipe again and this time with almond pulp. May be nice to play with the butter as well:) thanks Caitlin!
It just so happens the Minimalist Baker just did a recipe on her channel for Brownie Bliss Balls using almond pulp. Just a suggestion for another way to use it.
I was SO excited for the cookie recipe til you said it was banana:( allergies suck. AND YES, get really strong milk bags!! I made almond milk once and my bag broke and it was a nightmare!
I love making cashew flax milk, and i never know what to do with the pulp. Thanks for the great idea!
I don’t really like making my own plant based milks because it can only be fortified if it’s store bought and it’s kinda hard to get all the calcium and b12 etc if you take away one source of those nutrients
those cookies looked so bomb! have you ever had cookie brownies? i feel like this would be perfect for that.
I HAVE to make these. Do you think I could swap out the white flour for oat flour? Thanks, Caitlin! xo
I’ve been watching your videos for a while now, and they just keep getting better! You make plant-based cooking so simple and I am inspired!!
Almonds are sooo bad for the environment, they need so much water while being grown. What are your feelings about this?
Can you do something like this with oat milk and just recipes with oats in general? Better for the environment and wayyyy less expensive
How many gr. in your one cup? 128? I am in Russia and we usually mesure in glasses wich is 200 gr.
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!
just did my own hazelnut and almond milk:)
If we want to fortify our homemade almond milk should we use liquid supplements?
We love making our own nut milk at home and usually use the pulp to make crackers or flour, love these cookies!!
My blender isn’t strong enough to pulverize the almonds alone, but I do have a good mortar and pestle. Would I be able to incorporate that somehow to crush the almonds or soak the almonds longer to get a similar consistency?
OmG my husband would love if I started to make nuts milks! thanks for the upload! Oh and my husband is obsessed with cookies! Such a perfect video thanks!
The almond milk looks great, so simple but what healthy way to consume it.
Hi, I’m not used to the measurements in cups. Can you please give me the amount in grams of a cup of almond. Thank you
I know almond milk may be very tasty and stuff, but it’s so bad for the environment. I beg of you to not buy this weekly
This video could have been 5 mins not 67 hours long just sayin
Great idea! Thinking of throwing away the pulp is part of what’s stopped me from trying to make my own non-dairy milks. I’m partial to oat milk myself, do you have any idea what to do with the leftover oats?
I followed your recipe. It tastes sooo good. But cookies were a bit soft don’t know what went wrong
Ahh! Thank you so much for this, I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with my almond pulp. Also, those silicone baking sheets.. how do you keep them clean??? Mine are so gross and nothing works to clean them off
I’m allergic to coconut, I wonder if all purpose or some other flour would work?
The best milk is the one that doesn’t hurt the cows to obtain.
rice milk is SUPREME it’s naturally sweet even when unsweetened, no need to add sugar!
I used to drink cows milk so much. I would go through a gallon in 5-7 days. But I learned more about the dairy industry and stopped buying cows milks and switched to soy milk and I love it!
I used to take a carton of rice milk to my first class with me, planning on drinking it throughout the day, I love that stuff so much I’d drink it within 20min. Every single time
This comment section is a great example to demonstrate the definition of “subjective”
Doesn’t lactose-free dairy exist in America? Over here in Scandinavia you can buy lactose-free cow’s milk, cream, butter etc..
This has been something I want to try, but haven’t…it is so easy! I love oat milk (think there’s more protein in a cup than almond milk too:) But it’s hard to find in the stores. Love the idea of making your own and saving the packaging/extra ingredients they add like guar gum, etc.
My family & I got these portable juicer blenders from SlushTek.com (they’re on sale for 39.99!!” and we’ve been just bringing a variety of nuts & a strainer with us on camping / hiking / road trips so we can make oat milk & nut milks on the go!! We just recharge the blenders in the car with a USB & it has saved us so much money
I was almost sick after drinking almond milk. It was awful but I need a vegan alternative to milk
Lol have almond at home and I didn’t know I can make milk of them, I love milk. I have to try it
The blonde girl fucked up the video, can’t tell if they like it or not because she always has a different yet opposite opinion of the others’.
They drink milk by itself? I never drank milk by itself I always drink it with cereal or oatmeal or something
Hi there,it doesn’t have to take you hours to peel almonds. Submerging them in boiling water for 20 seconds will soften the skin. I have to do this cause I only find regular almonds in my city. Great videos!
Almond milk makes me sick. Literally when I drink it I feel like I will throw up. Dairy is nicer
Ooh looks like I’ll be making some oat milk. This looks great.
Rice milk looks like the water when u wash the rice before putting it in the rice cooker
They didn’t try oat milk. I wanted to know if that tastes good
OMG Caitlin, you sound so sweet! You must be fun to be around. Loving your videos.
HOW DO THEY NOT LIKE COCONUT MILK! UNSWEETEND COCONUT MILK IS AWESOME
Almond milk is my and my brothers favorite milk, but we only like it unsweetend
Almond milk sweetened with dates and vanilla is so tasty! I make my own at home sometimes and it’s great!
Honestly you would think someone is trying to poison them and I LOVE soy milk!
It’s so hard for me to enjoy vegan milks but rice milk tastes the best for me
this video took an L when i realized oat milk wasnt mentioned
The only reason they liked rice milk is because it tastes nothing like milk and everything like orchata
That blonde girl with glasses is the type of judgemental girl that doesnt like anything and always has a critic like comment to say about whatever you bring up. Get out of that comfort zone, make peace with food! There are many flavors outside your tiny bubble.
Show them DAIRY IS SCARY videos.. And they’ll not go back to cow’s milk…
omg I literally wanted a video exactly on this and then I saw the notification and well Day is made!!!!
What would you say goes best with coffee? I don’t like plain almond milk but willing to try homemade. I love chocolate hazelnut milk and chocolate almond milk. I normally have soy milk with coffee.
I have tried the soya milk and trust me after that i am starting to think vegans are gross:3
Im not watching this for the almond milk for me, im watching because i heard 12 pounds of water make a single almond and i decided to search this up-
Thanks Ella for sharing this video. I made this recipe at home and it’s so good. Pretty simple as well. Highly recommended! Cheers
B.
I’ve heard almonds (if concumed a lot) contain some poison, that can cause you throat problems leading to suffocation, is that true? I mean, when you drink almond milk, you consume a lot of almonds.
Hey. I imagine you won’t respond but I would be interested to hear your thoughts on Oxalic acid? Nuts and greens such as Kale are high oxalic, which aren’t great for people with leaky gut or sensitive types. For me they exacerbate my fibromyalgia symptoms: I also want to avoid soya for similar reasons to you, so it’s tricky to know what to do! Thanks xx
Your videos are not only inspiring but relaxing too. I could listen to you all day. You have such a beautiful voice. Thank you for promoting eating well! X
It makes me gag to think humans are still drinking breast milk from another animal TO THIS DAY
Hi Ella, I love your videos. I was wondering what is best, dairy or almond milk? I am asking because I never heard of almond milk before and am curious. thank you!:)
Wow this could save so much and not have all the extras. I’m guessing you can use a little vanilla extract to give it that vanilla flavor
Did you make that granola in the bowl? If so can you share the recipe it looks amazing!
This is great and seems so easy! I will have to give it a go. This is probably a silly question but am I right in thinking that it’s the water that stops the almond from turning into almond butter?
I love your recipes! Thank you for sharing, can’t wait to see more!!
Absolutely LOVE this Easy Tutorial from Miss Ella! When you’re soaking the almonds, do you store them in the fridge or leave them out?:)
Love love love your channel, app and website Ella! I cannot find a jelly bag/ nut milk cloth anywhere on the internet that has sidesdo you have any information on where I could purchase one, or a link perhaps! Thank you:)
Thank you for making this look so easy Ella. One question, how do you make sure the almonds aren’t stale when you buy them in the big sacks and are they more likely to go stale because they have been skinned?
Ella your green and gold ring is beautiful! Do you ever make nut cheese?
Just discovered you tonight! Love your videos! Even though it’s not Christmas time, you’ve definitely got me planning way in advance!
If you leave the skins on does it affect the flavor? I made some almond milk once and i left the skins on, didn’t know any different, and i thought the milk was atrocious which is why i haven’t gone back to making or drinking almond milk. If it’s the skins that made it gross then i might try the above recipe.
