So simple to prepare, and the result is fantastic. Gotta try it.
Black been sauce and vinegar on a filet minion? Come on jamie…
Just made this and was delicious. Only thing I added was mushrooms.
Eating this right now, excellent! Have you got wok recommendations? I just did this in a skillet and it could have been easier…
Sir;
You have done a super great job but next time please present all ingredient in front of the camara due to maybe peoples out there like myself would like to see the ingredient to do the same. thanks for your receipes, by the way, I know I heard the the Rice wine is Shi-Shine Wine, also the name of the powder you used with the chicken stuck, I did not see the name of the container, anyways, thanks
Respectfully; Andy
wow! your wok looks really clean and shiny.. I wish mine was like it.
James Strange, can I use red wine vinegar, Your recipe looks so delicious, I will try this recipe. It’s fast and easy. that’s what I need.
dude your face at the start of the video is hilarious and disturbing
!!HEY PLAYBOI!! always brown chicken a little first take it out and then add it back after veggies almost done
The metal spoon hit on the anti stick pan make me crazy ahaaaaaaaaaa!
I consider scallops a festive dish as they are pricey. But this recipe is a good balance with other festive dishes because it is simple to execute; whereas most festive dishes are more complex
I don’t really like scallops..can I change to other..need your opinion thanks
Not going to watch the video, just clicked to say the thumbnail looks like garbage slopped on a plate and I wouldn’t eat it.
Yeah never add raw chicken to semi cooked vegetables. always cook your chicken first then add the vegetables. But anyways you’re plating look very nice.
This is such an awesome recipe and some simple. Looks really good.
Thank you very much for taking the time to make these video’s! I have made several of them over the last 3 months. Have been especially enjoying the Dim Sum tutorials! Maybe in the future you can teach us to make Xiao long bao? Again thank you Happy Wok!
Just finished dinner. It was very good. I am definitely saving this recipe in my favorites to make again. Now I just need to remember to light a match when I pee. LOL
Thank you for this recipe. I did go out and buy the black vinegar and I’m glad I did.
How much soy sauce for the pre-mix sauce? The ingredient list at the end doesn’t mention it.
I love ur cooking recipes. Followed the roast chicken in air fryer and the ding tai Fung golden prawn paste n my boy n hubby love the food. I’m going to try more recipes like the chicken rice as I miss eating my mum’s chicken rice.
Nice job James. I like straight up, simple food done by a non-pretentious chef. This is really good stuff to illustrate to folks that it is not hard to cook good, fresh food. You are a likeable guy and I’m starting to check your vids out more and have not been let down yet. Keep up the fine work bro.
me encanta tu baile Oliver!!! saludos desde El Salvador!!!!!!!!!!!! besos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! me encanta como cocinas he aprendido mucho de ti!!!!!!:)
Love all your cooking videos, subscribed! All the ingredients are in hand, hope my husband likes modified Chinese food so I don’t need to cook 2 separate dishes each meal.
just made this and it was super yummy! didn’t have any asparagus on hand, so i just used a mishmash of veggies lol. thanks for the recipe, definitely making again:D
Is there a reason I can’t watch certain videos since I am in US? Please no negative comments to me as I am tired of being bullied when I ask a simple questions. Thanks! Peace and love!
Hey, Happy Wok. You’re one of my favourite www-cooks! Very clear and easy recipes. I’ve learned a lot from you.

Just want to wish you some strength! You gained so much of my respect when I saw your show about the cafeterias in American schools. Don’t ever give up!
Looks great. I really enjoy your videos and the way you make them. Thank you.
Your recipes and cooking are great, very easy to follow……. you no doubt have much experience with chinese and oriental foods. But I am shocked you do not have a million plus followers? Anyway……thanks again for another great recipe.
I used my Wolfgang Puck electric wok (hard to find now and I love love love it)… Made this recipe tonight. It was sooooooo delicious! This wok is now my new favorite kitchen item! It’s taken permanent residence on my breakfast bar. Oh ya. 😉 Gonna make it with broccoli next time…then snow peas for the next round.
hey Mr strange.i just followed your exact receipt chicken and asparagus saute..I’m eating it right now. it’s delicious!
That is nowhere near how I would cook a stir fry. Too much vinegar and soy sauce and not near enough fresh garlic. No spice either. Go to a Chinese grocery and buy some proper sauces.
I enjoy watching your videos. Makes me want to try and cook this. It must be delicious.
How’s the resautant empire Jamie? Ultimately, the public has voted and said your recipes and food were shite. They voted with their feet sunshine.
I tried this recipe today but I ran out of asparagus so I replaced it with brocolli. My family loved it especially the ginger oyster sauce! Thank you for sharing this recipe, Roland!
did anyone notice the thing he did not want to do he did-( to make his chicken and asparagus to saucy) stirfry the first thing to do is always cook your meats first-then vegetables.
Love your videos bc they are straight to the point; no frills! I’ve learned how to make multiple Chinese dishes from you. Thank you for posting!!
Hi, is there a reason why you put oil in the chicken when you marinate it?? Have you tried putting corn starch and baking soda?? I heard that baking soda makes the meat extra juicy.
I always clean it, dry it over the fire then oil it before I put it away.
Budget supermarket steak and this combo was fantastic. Super tasty
This has nothing to do with stirfrying. It’s more like simmering.
There is no risk adding raw meat to the veggies. If the wok is hot enough and the capacity of the burner is high. Dish like this would cost me about 4 minutes.
Cornstarch on the chicken helps to tenderize it. In the sauce it helps to thicken the sauce. It really adds no flavor.
do you use an electric stove? where can I buy a wok like yours?
It is a light weight cast iron. It has a very quick response time. It cools and heats very quickly.
Ginger, garlic and stir-fry? Am I the only one to think this is inspired by Chinese cooking?
Your wok is happy with such delicious recipes. I will try and make this one too and thank you for your work and amazing recipes.:)
Yes she is and we let her be a lefty. But she does some things with her right.
I have used duck breast instead and more other vegetables and came out so delicious, the recipe and your style of cooking are brilliant from now on I’m huge fun of your channel.thanks wok master
Hey Jamie, I’m from Germany and I’m loving what you do, it have changed my life, but this video looks like a advertising! Please don’t lose your flever, that is an inspiration for so many people!
yummy as usual, congrats on your first public cooking debut chef. on the other hand, can i use abalone…the can type? tq
Thanks for the recipe. I plan to make this tonight, only substituting asparagus with green beans.
Why does your wok not turn black. Is it Chinese cast iron. Thanks for your videos.
Now, I’m enjoying watching tutorial videos like these, not for the purpose of re-creating the exact recipes but for taking note of the techniques or even ‘secrets’ revealed by great chefs, such as in this channel.
Since your stove isn’t powerful enough to put out the BTU’s needed to keep that wok sizzeling should you have maybe preheated that liquid before you put it in your wok? It seemed like when you poured that cold liquid in the wok it completely stopped the whole high heat wok cooking process.
Hey James….stupid question…but can you use a wok on a conventional oven or do you need a gas oven that produces the flame? Thanks bud.
thx chef Fai for sharing. can I use broccoli as I do not have asparagus and I want to cook this for lunch tomorrow?
Great recipe & video! We’re making something similar tomorrow. YAY! I get to break out my Wok!!!
OH NO HE USED A METAL SPOON AND SCRAPED AGAINST THE NON STICK PAN!
Olive oil for a stir fry… common mate. But looks nice as always.
Am I able to subsitude asparagus for broccoli? Will it taste weird since broccoli tends to absorb sauce?
Oh that looks good and it’s still breakfast time here. I think I’ll add some red pepper, too!
Hi there I made the Scallops and Asparagus in Ginger Oyster Sauce. It was very easy and quick and the Family loved it.TY for sharing
the dish looks a bit salty i think. it has too much sauce, but i guess is more of a American taste.
A most excellent recipe, and video! Love hoisin sauce items! Thanks for sharing another winner dinner!
Man. I’d like to sincerely thank thee for this video.
I don’t think I ever made a delicious dinner like this.
Okay so the things I didn’t use in your recipe or replaced with something else was:
Wine, I didn’t use wine since I’m not allowed to have alcohol.
Black Vingear, the stupid store didn’t had any. So I just got brown natural vinegar instead.
Cooking oil: Olive oil.
Wish I could show you results but don’t know how to show it to you.
Also thank god for finding out about this youtube page because now I’m gonna try a recipe once a week..
You’re amazing! Your daughter is lucky to have a magical dad like you.
Cheers!
Hi Roland, made this for family recently and it was fantastic. I was a little worried about so much ginger juice but it really made the dish. It really is easy but you do need your mise-en-place because the prep moves VERY quickly. Ask a sous chef (family member) to help with the chopping:)
If you look on the soup aisle you can usually find it there. I prefer the kind in the box over the canned kind.
Oh my gosh, this dish looks delightful, thank you for sharing your recipe. I don’t have all the ingredients, but an Asian Market has started their business in a town close by.
I’ve been looking forward to going there to see all their interesting ingredients, that I’m learning about, thanks to you and your channel.:) Gretchen
Chef Ronald, can you teach me how to make ginger juice without a blender?
Hi! I’m back again. Mmmmmmmm… scallops with asparagus taste so good. That taste so crunchy and delicious asparagus. Great recipe. See u next time.
师傅, 您可不可以上传视频教我们怎么煮点心的辣椒酱谢谢。
Can you upload a video of how to make dim sum hot sauce?
Very nice. I’m always confused with cooking my chicken. I over cook it, because i’m afraid of getting sick.
um sitting in hospital bed watching this watch most your vids that looks awesome thanks very healthy to
Sick recipe Jamie…. I’m putting this bad boy on the menu this week.. hopefully my misses loves it as much as yours…. cheers mate!
I do love this……..Thanks for posting!!!!!!!Well done my friend!!!!!!♥♥
Can I omit the cornstarch? I dont have that. Does it add flavor to the recipe?
I like your way of cooking….it won’t need much time to prepare,delicious….. so yummy…..
Hi there can u maybe show some recipes for this vege called Chayote? Thanks.
To answer GDye, I was told by my Asian co-worker that a wok needs flame from an open fire, or a good gas stove! But hey! Why not try woking on what you got! Ha! Might turn out great!
Love the asparagus in this recipe and of course the sauce, Thanks for sharing!
Jamie One love. No more. Funny. Gorgeous. Best. Especially I really like that moment, when Jamie starts to dance)
I tried making this dish, the Asparagus was over cooked, ans the Chicken was undercooked
Jamie, you are a great chef! I love your recipes! You may not know this, but please peel the skin from ginger because that will cause food poisoning
hi chef Fai thx for your prompt response. I tried the recipe with broccoli and carrots and it was delicious with jasmine rice. my family enjoyed it as well. I am learning a lot from u! keep up d great work.
Steak, asparagus and shop bought sauce and everyone is going on like it’s a magical dish LOLOL.
Soo glad i bumped into your channel. Been a subscriber for a month and I’ve done a couple of your recipes, the taiwanese chicken popcorn and this one…. I’m horrible at cooking but you make your recipes so easy to follow. I already got a from hubby finally thanks chef Roland
Not sure if I’m liking this recent trend of labeling all your recipes as “Super Easy”.
Absolutely one of the finest recipes I have ever cooked, huge hit with all…try it folks letter by letter you will be a star.
Thanks to Mr. Oliver…truly a class act.
I will buy asparagous tommorow and i will cook it asap! Thanks from greece!
Iam about to go buy all the ingridients where do I get the chicken stock from?
That steak is raw/rare on the inside…come on millionaire chef…
Well done cooking with proper meat Jamie. Was starting to worry that the woke Far Left nutcases had converted you to their muscle-killing vegan and plant-based nonsense. Resist the Marxists and eat meat!
My favorite foods combined, love asparagus and scallops. Thank you Chef. One question though, if I have prawns on hand do I increase sauce or reduce scallops? Love prawns with scallops. Would you consider doing a full meal, multi course video. I’d love to see how you pair dishes. Love you both.
So good to seeing you be happy and doing your thing Jamie! Keep going at it.
if scallap change with sotong ball is it can i mean nice or not?

I’ve been cooking from your books and videos for a few weeks now. And wow my man; you know how to make cooking easy, fun, affordable and so delicious. I’ve never eaten better in my life. Thank you so much.
That does look nice. Maybe im a bit paranoid regarding chicken but is it not safer to cook the chicken first then add the rest afterwards?
Why not cook this for breakfast? The red pepper would be good in this.
gorgeous princess man, she’s lucky to have a great cook, lol!
Wonderful recipe, however is there anything you can add to make it so your pee doesn’t stink? Dinner was delicious, but it ruined “Watersports Tuesdays” at my house….
Can’t stick this bloke. And this is the last I’ll grace this channel.
Jamie Oliver, he ain’t lying. These are all wonderful recipes.
Another Great Dishes my friend.Hope you and Family are well. God Bless. I wish I could eat this lol lol
Thank you for telling me that you cooked this. I am happy that you liked the dish.
how to ruine an expensive piece of steak: cheap black bean sauce
Like the video, I’m interested in the brand of wok you are using.
neat trick with the ginger. you sir are a scholar, a gentleman, and a culinary wiz-kid.
mind blown!
Comes with a side of redundancy employee’s and debts that wont be getting paid! So tasty
tow things I can not seem to find, any help with a online store that has these iteams (Black Vineger and Black Soy Sause) black soy is thicker and sweet
I have got to upgrade the scallops I eat! I usually buy the ones on sale. They’re tiny, and while they taste good, three bites and I am done. No more! Thanks.:)
Maybe if he’d have spent more time running his restaurants they wouldn’t have all collapsed, lots of unemployed people because if this chump. Instead he’s making youtube videos for his 4.7M subs.
This looks great. What part of the chicken was used for meat?
Stir fry asparagus at high heat without poaching good point, but some seasoning and cooking steps different from traditional pro chef…
Overrated TV personality, overrated prices just like his restaurants and after a five course meal you still feel empty like your wallet.
I think I want to make this for dinner tonight. Quick question though. How similar is black vinegar to balsamic vinegar? I ask because I looked up the description of black vinegar and it sounds very similar to it. I have Balsamic, but do not have black. I can run to the asian market and get some if I need to it’s not like it’s expensive or anything. Just curious.
Beautiful seasonal recipe! So simple and perfect. Who needs an excuse to eat scallops or asparagus.
Boom chef! Sooo deliciuos, love stake. Just need to wait for asparagus season to start 😉
Hii i am from India and I love to watch your cooking. Your recipes is very simple and yummy thanks
Have u tryed making orange chicken just take chopped chicken breasts and put flower on it than deep fry it than add Panda Express orange chicken sauce
Too lazy to go buy asparagus right now. Dinner will be in good time!
I am not willing to call this a “stir-fry”, but it looks like some awfully tasty grub.
I am happy that you like the asparagus, now you have a new vegetable to enjoy. For more salt you can add more soy or a bit of salt.
I’ll be doing the happy dance too tomorrow when I give it a try
This dish was pretty good. My only complaint is that the ingredients list says to use 1/4 teaspoon of sugar, while the video demo says to use 1/4 tablespoon. This is a difference of 3 times as much sugar. Also, it’s difficult to recall all 20-30 steps from a 10 minute video, so would have been nice to also have the step by step instructions included, along with the list of ingredients.
mmmm had to put you on the #stirfry list https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAv2UbDc4VoSuc0oAc27QwZNodxAeKmWI
Джеми, привет!!! Можешь подсказать рецепт для сказочной утки?
