MY EXPERIENCE with this strain. So I strained my abdominal muscles in February 16 2018 by going heavy on abs. I had a bad GRADE 2 to grade 3. I was in so much pain that I couldn’t walk for 2 weeks without my abs hurting and feeling like my guts wanted to pop out of there. I went to many doctors for this… NOTHING FOR MY HELP. They told me it wasn’t really serious. I went back to the gym after a months feeling good and BAMMMM it hurts again started with a mild pain on the right side of my lower abdominal and little belly button pain. I lost all my gains and all my strength. After going back to the hospital, thank god not in much pain they told me I had a muscle strain or tear. I too two months of the the date was August the 17 2018 and went back in the gym feeling more better. Two days later went to a sports medicine doctor and told me the same thing. He told me abdominal muscles strains take a very long time to heal. So I gave another month and two weeks to heal. So far I’ve been working out now and still till this day I have a little bit muscle spasms and soreness but not how I was before. This case being said I’m now waiting for a MRI from my sports medicine doctor.

Your toe to bar move is kinda not correct. Your body shouldn’t be swinging, you can’t use momentum. If you’re not able to stabilise your body then you should try more core exercises. Using momentum decrease quality of your workout.
I always forget that Rachel is actually super fit and works to stay in great shape not just casually skinny. Love this for perspective and how your video/creative skills translate even in the fitness world!

I think I pulled mine doing water aerobics on vacation. I try to stay average in the work out department having a moderate amount of exercise but I think I over did myself. I felt like my stomach was ripping open but I didn’t stop…. I guess I learned my lesson.

Yeah, this looks like a great workout but, uh, I can’t stay on the bar long enough to do a full setmy grip strength just gives out. Haha and slowing down the reps just makes it worse.
Also, does anyone else have hip popping issues when they do the hanging leg flutters and hanging bicycles?

Chris you are a great motivation for me. I suffer from mild cerebral palsy but still do your workouts and am in the best form and feel the strongest right now I have able to gain a 4 pack and define my bicep muscles thanku so much for being such a good inspiration
The best way to get better guys is to push yourself and to take longer breaks to focus on the form
My bars is too close to the ground to just hang so I was holding myself at the top of a pull up the whole workout

I especially like that you teach doing a toes-to-bar without kipping. I’ve been doing CrossFit for almost eight years now and despite what some people think Crossfit has some genuine health benefits. That said, every CrossFit box I’ve been to always teaches/encourages this movement as one where you use the kipping motion to gain momentum. That has some benefits for opening up your shoulders during a warmup but after all these years I am convinced that if you want to get the real benefit of doing a toe-to-bar movement you do it strict controlled movement as you demonstrated in this video. You gave some excellent advice here. GREAT WORK!!!

Why do knots not show-up on imaging studies? You can feel there’s a big knot, but CT doesn’t show it. This is a big problem because a so called doctor will say there’s nothing there even though you can actually feel it.
Man, I was in 10th grade when this shit happen to me. I was doing sit ups in gym, felt fine after. Next day I was in so much pain. Couldn’t move for 2 weeks. It hurt so bad, that I couldn’t keep food down. So I end up throwing everything up. Losing 13 pounds was the best thing it ever did.

When I do these kinds of ab exercises or even some floor exercises such as leg raises or sit ups, I feel this in my hip flexors rather than my abs regardless of how tightly I hold my abs in (if that makes any sense).
