If anyone is really interested, it is entirely possible to test yourself for Covid-19 when it really comes down to it. The probability of false negative is extremely high and depends on how the sample is collected and processed, so definitely do more than one sample, but it's a routine laboratory test that most labs have the materials and know-how to do.
Here are a few links for the primers. You can buy the entire kit or order the primers separately. If you buy the primers separately, each should only be ~$3 that lasts for >100 tests. You can choose to use the primers that are designed with or without the probe or not (3 vs 2). Primers with the probe are more specific, but more prone to false negatives.
The rest of the components are an RNeasy kit and Sybr-Green. There are several brands for each. Everyone has their favorites, but they should all work. edit: grammar
