I find myself wondering if an of the recipes have a marzipan-y taste to them, with the almond used in all of it… I can’t stand marzipan, though I do love other almond sweets. If the middle one does not, I would LOVe to make it, it sounds amazing.
I like that you all used three different ways to pit your cherries. You had a stoner (what my dad called them, lol), a knife, and Mr. Chef with his fingers. I think the chocolate would be my favorite personally. I also like that you’re using Bings instead of Queen Annes. I think QA would be a little too sour for these recipes. Love it. If I understand correctly, in the UK, corn flour refers to what someone from the US calls corn starch. we tried this without stuffing and i guess it didn’t firm up as well as it should have? it was solid but soft still like tofu in the middle. any pointers or should we stuff the roast?

Supposedly the text instructions can be (you know how every food blogger writes their life story before launching into how to make something? That.) but the ingredients list and general…”bake this at 350 for x minutes” stuff is fair game.

When I make a tofu scramble I use black salt which is made for making the tofu taste like scrambled eggs

peanut milk is even easier to make at home than oat milk: just put 250ml warm water and a tablespoon of peanut butter in a blender and mix! you can make more using the same ratio, I always use it for smoothies.

Try make falafel with those dry chickpeas instead of already cooked/canned ones!
Soak dry chickpeas over night and then blend it up together (don’t boil them first) with the rest of the falafel ingredients! Does that make sense? Those canned chickpeas are already cooked so they get too mushy and fall apart!
okay hopefully this is useful to at least one person but the easiest hack to straining your oat milk is to just hold the bag from the top and slowly twist the bottom, it squeezes all the liquid out really cleanly and easily!!

something BIG i also learned about falafel (the hard way lol) is that u use soaked uncooked chickpeas!!!! so soak them for at least 8 hours and put them in the food processor “raw” and blend everything the same way and they will cook when u fry them!!!:-) makes a huuuuge difference

I’d love to see you guys do 3 different homemade granola bar recipes Cuz I have so many food sensitivities, I’ve started looking into making my own and there are some AMAZING recipes out there I made some for a friend (whose food sensitivities differ from mine) that involved dried apricots, apricot jam and dark chocolate and it was 100% worth the ensuing stomach pain to have gotten to try them!
You could make one of the recipes vegan, too. So many involve honey, which a surprising number of people can’t eat due to gut sensitivities like IBS, Gastroparesis, FPIES or any number of autoimmune disorders. Hell, you could even make the vegan one low-FODMAP
I’d love to see an actual low-FODMAP challenge, in general It’s a set of dietary restrictions that would really force you guys to push the limits of your creativity and I reckon you’d all do a fantastic job of coming up with awesome dishes from only low-FODMAP foods

Posting again because Thanksgiving has come and gone. I made quite a few side dishes. Vegan Gravy, Roasted Root Vegetables, Cranberry Sauce, my turkey-style Tofu, and a Green Bean Casserole which is not vegan cause it had a lot of Dairy in it. So I felt accomplished.
You cook like a human, not a you tube robot, and that is appreciated. Sometimes I just wanna see someone eat smoothies and the same soup everyday.
*Also, I am a meat eater and have finally convinced my family to go part time vegetarian! I figure if you can throw crap together, so can I you make it seam easier than the pinterest people.

(most) walmart’s sell barilla gf rice/corn noodles (namely penne and spaghetti) which are really yummy with italian type sauces (marinara, alfredo, etc) highly recommend

The pastry dough from their Sweet Cherry Pie from 2014 is by far my FAVORITE pie crust ever.

I think Barry’s is a weekday dessert cherry pie; it’s fast and easy. Ben’s is the Thanksgiving/4th of July cherry pie; its tradition and sentimental. Jamie’s is the Christmas/ New Year’s Eve cherry pie, it’s sophisticated and a bit of a showstopper.

PS. You’re using sweet cherries, they’re quite different than sour cherries (and much less aromatic). Sour cherries don’t need almonds.

You guys are great so I’m going to just tell you that cherry pitters cost a whole dollar. Please invest in one for the show. Also, I don’t think that cherries are a thanksgiving food, even though I had some canned tart cherries that I accidentally put too much cornstarch into on top of my thanksgiving cheesecake.

Yum! So the consistency of my crust is definitely not like cookie dough! It crumbled, but I think it’s because I substituted butter for coconut oil! Hope it works can’t wait to finish! ♥️

Easier way to destone cherries: glass coke bottle + heavy straw or chopstick. Pops the pit right out into the bottle without staining your fingers pink!
