Ive been doing this workout for more than a month now every day and i have see absolutely no results except loss of breath this is useless and a complete waste of time and it makes you look like an absolute idiot

Do you want to do aerobics while trying to push yourself on the bike? I don’t. I’m all for combining arms with cycling but this seemed like a goofy routine made up to just seem like you’re working your upper body. Resistance isn’t clear when you just say “up one turn, tap it an inch” every bike is different and it should be described on a scale from 1-10 like many trainers do. Seemed unsafe for any beginner to attempt and I’m afraid this was poised for very poor form and as a result of the lack of clear direction from the trainer I’m hurting in my knees and shins, where no one should be.
Just had hip surgery and needed something to do for rehab. Actually enjoy this surprisingly…do you have any more videos with this instructor specifically?
Best spin workout I have found on YouTube. Instructor has great verbal commands and seems to anticipate mistakes before rider makes them. Hope she makes more videos
Im a beginner and love this session. Brinn the trainer is amazing (and hot). It’s by far the best one I’ve seen on youtube because it actually starts on time, isn’t annoying or obnoxious and is easy to follow. I’ve been doing it every morning since Jan2. Yea it’s not easy but go at your pace and do what you can.

Your form on the bike is so bad! Hunched back,shoulders up, head down. Not a great example to beginner spinners! Otherwise great workout.

I love your spin workouts! Add more if you like! Id love it! I use spin as part of my warm-up, along with some P.T. joint mobes, stretching or stability work before I do Kettlebells. These short and quick but heart moving spins are perfect for my home routine. Then on my off days from KB I can either do full spin only, or hike and when gyms are truly safe again..row. But def really like that they are efficient and not trying to prove anything to anyone, just vet the work done.( some live spin classes get a little bit Oooh-rah for me. Haha! I can work hard without being pushed to feel like I I’m trying to beat anyone.) Anyway..thanx!

Question on the last set with the hill climb right into a sprint, at what level should the sprint be at? I know the hill climbs are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 should the sprints be at the same levels? Always unsure because I see the instructor changing the tension going into the sprints.

In sprint/race no way you should be looking up like that. That flexion is terrible for the cervical spine. The neck should be in line with the spine and then eyes up.
Amy Jo is great, I’ve been spinning for years, haven’t found a class yet, but I found you on youtube, your great. I love the first video more, only because up and down or jumps really boost your cardio with leg strength.

Reminds me of sprinting when I played rugby. Still figuring out my levels (1-10) and seems like half a turn on the knob to go to the next level. Just got myself a folding exercise bike and gave it a first try with this video. Worked up a sweat but survived til the end.
Was worried that the resistance on the bike being pretty weak even on highest setting would make it ineffective my legs had to move real quick on those sprints but I did feel it.
Can you still reach your maximum heart rate with a lighter weight flywheel? Like spin bikes with 30lb flywheels? Thank you.

About 6 years ago I was a spin instructor for virgin active gyms. since then I have incurred some physical and mental difficulties that have stood in the way of me getting my fitness back on track. Never did a spinning class before but got a bike for home use as supplemental cardio for non-gym days. After trying this video/workout I can see why people like spinning so much. This seems to me to be a great, easy intro.

I like how you were positive and not intimidating to beginners. Some instructors are a bit more blunt and I find them daunting when they say things like “Come on do you want this or not you got to work at it now” when its only a quarter way through and I really struggle to complete their workouts! Its difficult to explain but sometimes they say their videos are for beginners when really they should be for more advanced. This workout is easy for beginners so thank you for that. Now time to lose my fat!

1RadNomad When it’s -20 C outside, and I live at the end of 7 km of gravel road, and the wind is blowing at 75 km/h, inside spin routines make a lot of sense. Plus, I can do this workout any time of day or night without a “safety buddy” and get a decent workout. So, outside would be better, yes. But inside, this is a best case option.:)

Just got my Schwinn spin bike last week. I’m a runner and used my elliptical before I got my bike. Great video. I hope you have more for this beginner. Question. Is the 5 or 9 number you say the resistance?
this is kicking my booty!! but i feel like i’m getting a really good workout nonetheless. im going to do my best to try and finish it, even if i do have to stop a few times because my legs feel like they’re falling off
I thought this was too easy when it first posted, but since I love a 20 min ride before I lift I just adjust sprints and climbs to a higher resistance and it makes it challenging for me.
I made it halfway, and I can only do position 1. I am seriously out of shape but this is just day 1.

I use to do spin class I guess 15 or so years ago. I like to stay in shape and after the gyms all closed I didn’t know what to do. All I had was a yoga mat. So I bought a spin bike. Anyway I guess you can call me new. I’m 59 yrs Old and found you on YouTube. I just did this beginners video and it was rough, but I got through it. I just wanted to thank you for putting on these videos. I’m hoping by the time the gym reopens, I’ll be ready to take a class and not feel self conscious. Stay safe and healthy. I’m new to spinning and I tried your workout for the first time. It kicked my butt and was AWESOME! I do have a question. Do spinning instructors lift weights either before or after a cycling workout? I like to make sure I’m toned all over and not just my legs. Or does cycling do that for you?

I’m really out of practice with working out after a prolonged period of chronic depression (like an actual decade), so having something like this for proper beginners is amazing. I have a lot of body confidence issues that makes exercise a really big emotional hurdle, and I barely thought about that at all because of your positivity and encouragement.
