The potential inaccuracy certainly does not warrant a price of 130€!
Can we use this without having to use the fitBit? Like just tracking weight once in a while
There are some digital scales that allow you to put in a desired weight to shoot for and keeps track of how well you are doing. Granted, anyone can do this by looking at the numbers but I just don’t see this on here. Also, this is a scale that cost 130. Is it worth it because most digital scales with connect to your smartphone
ignoring the misspelling, I’ll do it, thanx fitbit Dude
Why did you not show us how the scale works on the app??? Everything else you included bar the one thing that I wanted to see
This is not good scale, not even muscle scale. Garmin is better.
This isn’t a review of the scale at all. You just review the app ect…..
This product is a $100 piece of useless glass. If you are lucky, you
can setup wifi connectivity ONCE. However, if you ever have to change
your wifi address, you are screwed. There is no way to set this up
twice. I’ve tried everything…fresh batteries, reboot phone, remove
and add new device through wifi app, factory reset on aria 2….you name
it, I tried it. Don’t waste your money on this useless product.
i purchased the aria 2 as a family scale and its ridiculous we have to create accounts and invite them, especially my 3 yr toddler with an email account. AND i cant see other family members BF and BMI. Users should have that option to share or make anything private.
Using mixed fitness tech equipment. What scale should I get?
I had gen 1 and setup was a complete nightmare. Would not connect or find my device. At this point its pretty much just a scale with no smart features. Waste of $$!
can I just use it as a normal scale without the app? jump on, jump off?
how does it sync? via bluetooth. to my phone? or wifi and my phone has to be connected to my wifi? and ill just sync?
I thought The A in Aria was pronounced like the a in arrrgg. Not like “area”??
I don’t think those bands are accurate. They don’t even monitor your heartbeat.
“hell naw you need to recognize”, “knuck if you buck” hahahahaha i was dying.
As usual, a thorough review with just the right tempo packed into a few short minutes. I’ll take a closer look at this motivating device to go with my Ionic. I trust that the scales can be laid down on carpet. Many thanks. Dave, Australia.
Thanks for the review, love it! I want one! So glad you did a demo. Just want to ask, was it you who stepped on the scale? How was it? I hope it’s not slippery. Thanks.
I appreciate your info, but would have liked to see what exactly it displays on the scale and how long it displays it. For example, does it give you a BMI number or have units on it? What about lean body mass? Etc.
Hai Erin Lawrence. Nice review about fitbit aria Wi-Fi scale.
my sister got this for FREE!!..im go visit her more often
” I ran out of bathrooms at my place” hahahahahahah hahahahaha hahahaha!!!!
which smart scale do you think is the most accurate for measuring fat percentage then?
“Which is affectionally being called RizKnows Bathroom Videos. That is also the name of the hard drive of that hidden camera up there.” Well, a camera in the restroom? That could go either way. Haha!
look at ours https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/867177233/adore-worlds-smartest-ai-powered-smart-scale?ref=popular
I’ve been using this scale since the day it came out. I have zero complaints other than the BF% being way too high. I am constantly between 16-18 on the scale and that’s not even close. I would agree on 1/2 off whatever it says.
If it can’t properly track bodyfat then where’s the point in spending a 100 on a scale?
Do not purchase this item as of now 2017. My purchase of 2015 no longer connects to wifi. I have spent several days and hours with several techs and my wifi server. The end results is this scale will no longer connect to wifi even though it has the latest software. The company will not do anything to replace the item. The best they offered was to give me 25% off a Fitbit. No thank you because those only last a year as well. Love the idea of their products but they are disposable quality.
Just letting y’all know they are on sale on eBay with a warranty. $65
As others have mentioned, I think he used the “normal” mode to measure body fat %, the “lean” mode generates a lower body fat % which is more accurate for more physically active individuals (the lean mode can be found on your aria settings on the fitbit website. (If possible would you be able to try the lean mode and let us know if it seems more accurate to you too).
Just an idea and I have been thinking about it myself. I am a scuba diver and have lead weights. any known weight will do. place it on the scale to see how accurate it weighs say a 5 lbs weight of some kind. Also I noticed that it depends on where I kind of stand on the scale will adjust the weight some as well. if you stand more to the back you will weigh less. At least that is my case of a Walmart digital scale I have now. I try to make sure my toes are even with the front of the scale so i know I am standing in the same place each time.
What a great looking man with a pristine voice for videos.
This review was great.
I bought my Bluetooth digital for $40.00, I think I got a good deal
Jeff, could you do a video review on body fat measurement devices? Which are best/most accurate for the money?
I was very highly disappointed with the Fitbit Aria. I have not been able to use it due to the Fitbit wifi issues. After troubleshooting they went ahead and sent me a replacement. I thought my nightmare was over it worked for a month then I ended up where I started from. in the beginning. I had my internet provider change the configurations on the modem still nothing work. I explained to Fitbit countless times that there is an issue with their wifi system. They keep telling me there is nothing wrong yet numerous people were having the same issues. I have not been able to use the wifi of the scale. I have to manually enter the information. I shouldn’t have to do that I paid a lot of money for the scale now I am disappointed and I feel that I am not going to use their products anymore. I am waiting for this stupid scale to commit suicide so I can throw it in the garbage.
I found that mine tracked my fat % quite accurately. I would say difference is not more than 1-2%
Hi i would just like to no is fitbit aria accurate and whats it like on floors that are uneven and can you adjust the legs to get it even
Hey RizKnows, could you please do a review/unboxing of the Nike LunarEpic flyknit runners. Thank you so much, by the way I love your videos, they are the best!
I so wanted to get one, but my goal was not to hit certain weight, it was to reach certain body fat percentage. Because of that I ended up with a “Weight Gurus” scale and linked their app with fitbit. It gives me all I need, syncs with fitbit and the body fat percentage is spot on. One thing I do recommend is to still use “my fitness pal” to input food without paying attention to their calorie numbers and link it with fitbit for a better in/out calorie count. Hope that helps
I think the Aria accounting for possible clothing, so it counts less.
Scales is off, body fat off… Only reason to buy is a fitbit sync… Ill pass
Can you answer if moving the scales re calibrating and weighing in gives a consistent result. It seems no one actually reviews this and this is a key flaw with consistent weigh ins.
(This is because not every one wants to keep the scales in an open space without moving them. (we move them from under the sink for example to save space)
Example:
Set scale in regular location to weigh yourself. Calibrate 0 and weigh in. (record weight 1 x 3 times for consistency)
Move scale to alternative position. Re calibrate 0 and weigh in. (record weight 2 x3 times for consistency)
Move scale to alternative position. Re calibrate 0 and weigh in. (record weight 3 x3 times for consistency)
Move scale back to original position. Re calibrate 0 and weigh in. (Record weight 1.2 x 3 times for consistency)
Then can you tell me or us all if the results are the same or within a small margin of each other. One assumes that the re calibration should be accurate in all positions and deliver a very similar result for every weigh in.
I have already returned scales for wildly fluctuating when having it in a slightly different location in the bathroom making it next to impossible to track my weight properly/ trust the scales. (They where Salter digital scales)
Did you try changing the Aria to “Lean” mode for yourself? I found that dropped my BF% by quite a bit and got a little steadier in terms of results.
there is a selection in the settings of the scale to switch to, i think it calls it “lean” body type….which drastically improves the readings for individuals with lower bodyfat, still not 100% accurate but much better. i also see a fluctuation of +/1.5% in my readings which is NOT due to actual fluctuations. just an additional add for potential users. I found this setting in the online interface for the scale.
Thanks just got 1, Im a garmin user but the index is just to expensive (IMO) and I got a great deal in ebay for $70 and I can use my fitness pal and sync the info to Garmin….just perfect.
Have you seen and/or reviewed the LUMO Lift and LUMO Run? I’d like to hear your opinion on these two devices
Have you checked out the HIIT Bottle? I’m planning on buying one and it’s hard finding a decent review for it. Thanks
I ran out of bathrooms at my place LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! like I said RIzzooo my nizzoooo!!!! I just bought this scale and got it a day ago.
Thank you for letting me know that it does not give you accurate readings
heres my problem with smart scals, they super expensive and show too little informations, a better plan is to go to any farmacy and use the big machine that calculate/check ur weight and ALOT more for a 1 dollar
anyyyyway, great video jeff 😉
Love your reviews and have been wanting an Aria! I have the Fitbit charge HR and wanted to up my game I’m curious what your take on fitness training mask? I’m curious if the claims are as true as they say, would love to see a review or comparison on the workout effectiveness with or without the mask! Thanks for all your hard work.
Good review Riz. I use the Aria with my Fitbit Blaze and it should be an easy choice for any one using a fibit activity device. The charts are great and I like it separately identifying my wife’s profile. Nice to just step on and off without having to do anything else.
You look much fitter then me, and yes, I mean it seems like I have more body fat, but according to Fitbit Aria my fat percentage is 17%, even lower than you.
I also had a body scan, my overall body fat percentage is 29%, not sure which I should believe.
Mike, does the fitbit aria give consequent readings? I have had a BIA scale which gave me different weight measurements everytime i stept on the scale. I want one thats accurate for measuring weight with wifi, which i can use with an app.
Unfortunately the aria will fail just after it’s warranty running out in 1 year..
Hey! I asked you in another video (the Polar Balance Scale) but you probably missed it, I wanted to know why the scales are so off concerning body fat or rather how you know its incorrect. It sounds strange that all of these scales offer this feature without it actually giving an accurate measure when all of the other measurements are correct.. Thanks:)
I disliked ur video, because u said a bad word please don’t say that
This scale is as in the video promoted noting more than a “modern accessory”. It has nothing to do with a proper smart scale. The Fitbit app is another shitty complimentary. I’ve got versa 2 + the scale, which I’ve felt almost forced to buy since the Fitbit app doesn’t regularly sync (actually almost never) with my third party scale although it’s Fitbit compatible only. Same story with Aria 2, syncs only when I manually confirm it’s been me on the scale despite the fact there are no other connected users. The Aria 2 is not only nothing but an ordinary digital scale (with some “extras”) but also quite pricey compared to ALL similar products. I definitely do NOT recommend you to buy this scale even as a fashionable accessory. And finally, to the video’s author, dear friend, there is nothing honest in the fact you are totally ignorant of the theme, on the contrary, you are trying to delude others like you which is totally not fine.
I dont understand why u need a scale to view information, other than how much u weigh
Nice to see multiple measurements in a day. A feature Garmins scale needs. Good video.
Hey, thanks for these great reviews it is helping me to find the best fitness tracker but i was looking for getting the misfit ray.. could you review the misfit ray?
thanks in advance
Big Riz
Can you connect by Bluetooth ad well. I have the Charge HR. Think I might purchase it
Hmm, the body fat inaccuracy kind of takes away the biggest appeal of it for me. Without that all it’s really doing is syncing your weight for you over a regular bathroom scale. Fitbit should release a calliper accessory just for more accurate readings of that.
Nice bathroom. Do more videos in that bathroom. And yes don’t tell him about the second hidden camera.
Anyone know if this scale can be used WITHOUT a phone? Thinking of other household members that may want to use the scale like a traditional scale and not have to have a device/app
Can you do a review on the UA Charged Ultimate Training Shoes please
This looks like the scale they use on the show Fit to Fat to Fit but I’m new to them. Video content/quality keeps improving dude! Keep it up haha
What’s your recommendation for a scale of I’m in the garmin connect ecosystem? You mentioned connecting to myfitnesspal and then to garmin connect but what scale could I go just straight to garmin connect? Thanks for the great videos man, keep it up!
I already own a scale with bmi etc. measuring. Now i manually update my fitbit account with the info. Still don’t know if this really would make a difference for me
Hey Jef @RizKnows, I realy enjoi all your great Reviews an every thing else you post! Pleas keep it up(:
Have you ever thought about makeing Videos of your average day/week? With all the food you eat and all..?
Greatings, from switzerland!
Hey I enjoyed your review, I just got one but I’m having trouble with multiple users. Trouble syncing
It will not recognize one user even after being “invited”.
Don’t miss my in-depth review of the Fitbit Aria 2: https://wearablewhisperer.com/fitbit-aria-2-review
I added a friend, sent him email, he accepted it, it also showed on my application he accepted, my question… When he stands on it, it does show his icon, however not reading body fat or mass, just weight.. Not sure why it’s not working
Mine is talking about pressing a button but there is no button
trouble for me to re connect my fitbit scale after changing Wifi network! am like clueless
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️I am an old person and this set up was just what I needed!! Thank you for realizing not everyone is tech savvy in this world although I have mastered googling and texting Again, thank you for breaking it down for a senior citizen to understand.
Great video. Straight to the point, and not too long. Thanks.
How did you get your mobile to be paper of the listed devices?
after I weigh myself, shouldn’t it sync with my fitbit app? It doesn’t
I am my phone doesn’t find the scale I don not get the 4 digit code or a set up menu
Great Video, thanks for letting me know about this scale. I am 47 years old 5″11 my weight floats around 176 to 181 lbs. will check out your band video.
I just bought mine and this is just straight forward and easy to understand. No intros or sponsors just straight to the point how to. Thanks for the video!
My Aria scale measures 4 lbs lower than my other digital scale.
This is not a review about the scale, it is all about the software and calories, completely out of the subject
All scales are great untill they show you the results you are not happy with. lol
Thanks for the review. How exactly do you jump between the “normal” and “athletic” modes. I see nothing on my scale to direct me.
honestly i think theres going to be a new scale out soon because theyve just reduced the price like they did with the versa just before the 2nd one came out
I’m actually a little bit disappointed that you didn’t step on the scale or even turn it on to show us exactly how it works
I am assuming you can just use the scale and not all this other stuff lol
This is cool, I’m late in this…. Never seen this before…Thx for sharing hon
this scale also is good up to 350 lbs. alot of floor scales don’t go that high.
This product is a $100 piece of useless glass. If you are lucky, you
can setup wifi connectivity ONCE. However, if you ever have to change
your wifi address, you are screwed. There is no way to set this up

Never had weight issues till an accident immobilized me. Now that I can move about again, I got the FitBitONE Tracker some months ago it has helped me so much to get mobile again and lose the 50 pounds I put on my formerly quite active self. I lost 30 of it and then suffered a string of new injuries minor but gained back some of what I lost. But I am not even sad I BOUGHT ARIA and now with both I know I will win and stay won again! I love the power to track it! So good!
Weight can go up for a few reasons, putting on fat or putting on muscle or a bit of both… The nice thing about the Fitbit Aria is that you can see your overall weight and your Lean Body Mass, if your weight goes up 5 pounds but your lean body mass also goes up 5 pounds then you gained only muscle, if you gained 5 pounds but your lean body mass stayed the same then you gained fat. Pretty sure I gained muscle 😉
I read some reviews that it was difficult to connect to WiFi if you weren’t in the same room as your router. Is that true?
I used to play a lot of MMO’s so prefer Meat Sack (from Meat Shield) lol Flesh Bag has a very nice ring to it tho haha
This is for someone who wants to get or stay healthy, you must log your food and water intake daily, weigh yourself on an empty stomach after you go number 2, then weigh yourself multiple times thru out the day just for logging info, ( you’ll learn more about your body this way) before and after exercise as well.
i purchased the aria 2 as a family scale and its ridiculous we have to create accounts and invite them, especially my 3 yr toddler with an email account. AND i cant see other family members BF and BMI. Users should have that option to share or make anything private.
I got my Aria 2 a few days ago. It’s a piece of junk, tons of wifi connection issues and definitely not an upgrade from the first Aria. Skip this one.
