I literally am thinking of getting back to running a lot and have always known that you need a bite before the jog. So searched marathon and found this channel. So far not bad. Some meals and smoothie ideas I like. The coconut rubbing of veggies is a good idea.

I have a half marathon in April and I’m so nervous about eating so many carbs but I know I need hem for this marathon. After this marathon I am going Keto. I was Keto for five weeks in July and I started eating carbs again and gained the weight back but not bad. I am starting to get back into better shape for this half marathon and I know I need to increase my carbs big time. So scared bough because carbs make me depressedthey literally do. But I need to tell myself it’s fuel for me.
My school wants us to gain weight but then have sports after school wtf they need to have health treys for athletes cause all they have is weird stuff and pizza like all the time and have a snack bar with awesome stuff but i know is unhealthy cause its good
That’s waaaay too much protein to be honest! You need 1.2 times protein to your weight. So if you’re 70 kilos you’d need about 100g protein straight.
Too much sugar, too much carbs.
Coffee pods? Very very harmful for the environment.
Also I forgot to mention during the runs I prefer the Honey Stingers or something called Carb Booms they are a bit more natural than the GU gels, and they do not really upset my stomachs like the GU gels do.

Is it normal to go thru like a binging phase when transitioning to intuitive eating as giving in to all cravings even when not hungry! How do u fix that! And work on listening to ur body not just cravings especially if not hungry at a certain meal time!

What type of maca did you use? I want to use maca for balancing hormones as wellbut when i went to the grocery store they all said it can cause birth defects and scared me.

I would love to see a skinny on sodium! There is some new science about the amount of sodium we should be consuming and I’d love to hear your tale on it. Also how sodium affects our water retention (is it true or just an old wive’s tale?) I just love salt, more so than sugar, but sometimes I feel like I a bit of a wake up call.

Ok I always do this and I thought I was so strange haha. I LOVE peanut butter and jelly so as a healthier substitute I always put nut butter on greek yoghurt with some sugar free jam or berries with a little bit of honey. It’s SO good and hit’s the spot for peanut butter jelly cravings! Good luck marathon training! xx

I think you consume around 40 gram of sugar and the ideal amount for women is 25 gram

I followed this marathon training program “Zοrοtοn Axy” (Google it) for my first marathon. My goal was a sub-4 hour marathon and I reached it. I followed every little thing in this training program and enabled me to race confidently to get through 26.2 miles. It is a good feeling to be able to reach that goal. Highly recommended for the devoted runner..

Going to try the yogurt, jam, and almond butter that is something I’ve never tried. Can only get runs in at night here in Houston, the sun is up to early and with the humidity it is the recipe for the worst run of your life. Thank goodness this half marathon is happening in January!

I made use of this marathon training courses “Zοrοtοn Axy” (Google it) in my half marathon training, and just used 6 weeks of the schedule provided, and ran a PR! I am presently making use of it for my marathon training, and am running better training runs in comparison to past marathon training. Hi great video, add a spoon each of ground flax seeds and chia seed onto your breakfast cereal and dried coconut and extra goodness a chopped up banana. I’ve started taking spirulina tablets too and these have made a difference.
The macca does nothing. If you want to balance hormones ginger tea bigelow or Yogi and squeeze some lemons and mix with honey local to you and taking a prenatal vitamin target. The spinach berries shake is on point.

Hi becca, I was wondering if you could do a video on the Netflix movie What The Health. I recently watched it and I was wondering your opinion on it considering your an RD.
I tried soft dried (no sugar added) mango halfway through my last long run and I felt great! Fingers crossed it works well on today’s long run. I don’t love the liquids gu’s either but I do think I’ll give the chews a try!

So during my long runs, I eat fruit snacks! Although they definitely aren’t healthy, they are packed with sugar and they don’t hurt my stomach! But yes I love how you said that as long as you are only eating those a small percentage of the time, everything is okay!

Hey Becca, I loved this video! I was wondering if you had any nutritional book recommendations. I have some spare time this summer, so I’d love to read up. Also, I think it’d be super cool if you talked about some of your favorite running gear in a future video for this series (leggings and shorts/shirts/sports bras/socks/tech stuff etc.). I sometimes have trouble finding comfortable clothes for running, especially moisture wicking clothes that are breathable and won’t leave me feeling suffocated during the summer time!

Oh the joys of living in the UK! I’m a brit who moved to portugal and your overnight oats ingredients are too expensive here haha. I go with oats with some hazelnuts and raisins, topped with plain yoghurt. I think the key things is oats as they’re the most filling, so the more the better. Love your breakfasts though, so tasty looking:)

Spot on video. Race day brekkie has to be the bagel with PB and jam as you say but also with chopped up banana and a very light sprinkle of maple syrup. Sets you up with a lot of great fuel.
Emma, If you leave your beet whole and either wrap in foil or put in a covered dish it will cook along with your sweet potatoes. When it comes out just cut and eat. It ends up way sweeter cause the juice stays in, is easier to prep and doesn’t stain everything in the kitchen.

Try preheating the oven to 420 degrees instead of 425. Amazingly, this slight decrease in temperature makes it infinitely more lit

I usually cook sweet potatoes in the microwave for about 7 minutes and then cut them in half for meal prep. Im too impatient to make sweat potatoes in the oven lol.

I make a pretty decent amount of it and put it in different jars so that I can eat it during the week! I mix some oat, honey, cinammon, almonds, sunflower seeds, coconut oil, chesnuts. Maca really does help with endurance n stamina so it’s really good that you’re testing it out. Also try incorporating some Beet juice into your smoothies maybe…I recently started n it did wonders for my energy

but you’re not a vegan. you say on your website you’re a vegetarian who “tries” to follow a mostly plant-based diet.
it’s a lifestyle and a philosophy of causing minimal harm to others. maybe just don’t call yourself a vegan runner if you aren’t truly a vegan runner. (we exist out there.)

As a chef I wouldn’t recommend using tin canned beans with tomato in it. Since the tomato acidic reacts with the metal wich is no good at all for the body. With dried beans, soaked overnight, you get a whole other experience with taste and easier for the body to digest and also has got higher nutrient value than pre-boiled tinned beans.
But for a fast and easy solution I understand:) peace!

I get 1 small bowl of grits with a glass of water for breakfast before working out and then I don’t eat until like 3ish.

I don’t know how you can justify eating healthy when you are eating whole eggs and whole milk I see a lot of this nonsense on YouTube that’s not healthy eating unfortunately you and the rest of YouTubers may find out the hard way one day with health issues just because it fills you up doesn’t mean it’s healthy and before anyone opens there pie holes I have my on RD and heart doctor and they would disagree with this bring back whole milk, whole egg movement and I think they would know best
I just watch other people eat healthy while I am sitting here eating unhealthy
