She looks so good in her after pic. You could see the 3 in waist difference! I wanna try this
You should try and sit further away from the green screen in your next videos
At the beginning of the video sleep was mentioned and also energy level. Those two things were not mentioned after the diet. I wondered how those were affected.
Ummm all that work for 3lbs and.6% body fat?? It’s a no for me, dawg.
I don’t crave sweet too often, but when I do its watermelon, passion fruit, and lime! Give er a try people!!:)
I did it in 2016 and lost 10 pounds. People were like wow. 2020 I am back by 5 years. Gained what I lost. It’s so difficult to do a second cycle
I’ve done Whole 30 twice now, The first time through was pretty difficult (March2019). I had recently been diagnosed with Crohn’s and was looking for a possible way to reduce inflammation. Though I’m largely asymptomatic when it comes to crohn’s the biggest change I saw was a lost of 24 lbs in a month!!! A year had past since my diagnosis, and I was gaining weight at a profound rate. I weighed more than I ever had in my entire life. I started my second round of whole30 (Jan2020) and again lost 22lbs in a month. I found the second time was easier, sugar is my Achilles heel, but orange juice cured my cravings. Having meals planned ahead of time was a huge help! Going out to eat is nearly completely off the table, Knowing when a meal was made, that I had better make enough for left overs is a sure fire was to keep you from taking the easy way out and purchasing something from a fast food joint in a pinch. The second time around for me has definitely encouraged the need to continue eating healthy, and look for alternatives to processed foods and sugar. Congratulations on your whole 30!
I and I only fuck with the organic coco and agave chocolates, thats it just 2 ingredients no oils or any of that other shit! Called #GoRaw
Hi there, have you discovered Fat Blast Furnace? (check on google) You will find out about the serious crimes we commit against our bodies. With Fat Blast Furnace, you will discover how to burn fat quickly.
Oh, and on a, lets say, percentage scale, how processed are nuts? I don’t mean the roasted and salted kind, but more the kind you find in packets in health food stores. They’re obviously not actually raw (cause lots of raw nuts are usually hot-water blasted anyway, otherwise they can be poisonous).
Hey there, have you considered “BellyFatTack” yet? Just search Google and you are going to spot bellyfattack.com On there you will find a helpful free video by an established medical doctor teaching about the best way to lose unwanted fat. This helped Melody to burn her belly fat. Why not give it a shot. Hopefully it works for you as well…
Whole 30 is legit! I’m doing it for the second time. I sleep better and feel more energetic. I miss my beer but 30 days goes quick.
I did this program twice. The 1st thing I can recommend is pick a 30 day period where there are no special events. I’m a big drinker and not having alcohol was the biggest challenge. But the 1st time I lost 40lbs. And after baby #2 I lost 20lbs because I cheated and started the program twice.lol now I’m on the 3rd time. In 6yrs
You just need to make sure you eat enough food at your meals. And dates are your best friend when you need to satisfy a sweet tooth.
Thanks for sharing. I’ve been wanting to try this new eatinf plan for a while now. It was encouraging to hear you say that it wasn’t hard at all. I plan on starting this plan on Monday.
great to have you back! I think i eat half of this and im twice her size haha fuck my metabolism
PALEOwhole 30 made me lose 35 pounds and feel better. my a1c went down to under 6.0 shocking my doctor who wanted to put me on pills. the only problem i had was foot and leg cramps. make sure you take magnesium supplements and pickle juice really helps and eating pickles as well.
You can totally see the difference in your body!! Way to go!!
I don’t get it… before it ends up in my stomach I chew it. there is no difference than drinking a smoothie then
I thought you were supposed to start the 30 days again when you brake the rules?? Pretty sure you broke the rules, a couple of times.
Dark chocolate without sugar is made of all the tears…. it just doesn’t taste good
You’re not supposed to eat fruit at all because it contains a lot of sugar
Order a poke bowl then keep some coconut amino’s near by it’s not that hard. Sheesh.
The body fat machine is bogus I’m a trainer and I know better than that
Congratulations!!! I’ll be starting my Whole30 on March 1, 2019 & this video is really encouraging. I’m 65, retired, live alone, and due to a chronic illness that mainly causes major fatigue, I have no social life (my own fault) so a totally different lifestyle BUT I also have a lot of that under the skin acne that I know is a buildup of sebum…yuck…probably because my number one vice is COLA (Coke or Pepsi) and I’m talking the real deal, not diet. Been drinking cola in various degrees since I was 19!!! It began in college because I don’t like coffee so it’s what I drank to stay awake pre-exams, etc. That’s 46 YEARS of pouring sugar into my body. Thank God I don’t have raging diabetes…not even pre-diabetic that has to just be good genes. So, no Coke will be my #1 challenge I don’t drink, really don’t have a sweet tooth except for the Coke like the foods I can eat on it, etc.
I decided to move toward a Keto/Paleo/Primal type of eating because my cholesterol is high for the first time in my life. In addition to all the Coke, I don’t like to cook so for years I’ve primarily eaten frozen/processed foods. The beginning of January I began moving toward that diet and without any other changes, no exercise, etc. I’ve already lost around 15 lbs so I’m excited about positive changes continuing.
Thank you. I am considering Whole 30 for health reasons (and if I lost some weight I wouldn’t complain). I appreciate your honesty. Good video!
She looks fabulous good job and she saved . great job
I’m doing this diet and im about 5 days in and I have lost 3 pounds….and idk if that’s a healthy amount weight loss.
I’m 17
5ft 10in
177lbs (at the start of diet)
15% body fat (I’m an athlete however not in season rn).
That chick with acne needs some choline and a liver detox if she really wants her skin to look better.
I’m on day 9 of the whole30 and my hardest part is craving sugar and candy. I’m fine for the most part and then I see peanut m&m and want to cheat. I haven’t cheated yet. Must…have….willpower
Is legumes and grains not “whole” food? Seems a bit misleading…whole foods just means foods that are as little/no processed as possible and closest to their natural form. Whole fruits, veggies, GRAINS. Basically, for a ‘whole food’ diet, if it had a nutritional label on it, it should contain 1 ingredient to be a truly whole food. If processed/packaged, it should be minimally processed, have a short list of ingredients, and every ingredient should be easy to understand what it is.
You should do a follow up video where you slowly reintroduce foods to see if anything specifically was the cause of problems you experienced before. Acne, bloating, etc.
It would have been nice to see what you were eating and to see the reintroduction phase which is the essential purpose of Whole30 how certain foods affect your body.
Great video! Zena looks great after finishing her Whole 30. She looks like she lost a lot more than 3lbs. NSV victories☝️
Whole foods do not “COME FROM THE DIRT”. There is a big difference between dirt and soil. Whole foods can come from the soil and the ocean, i.e. Irish Sea Moss. No shade, no tea, just droppin’ some knowledge, whilst you drop yours.:D
It’s nice that so many people had results. Mine were very minor. I was coming out of a depression, and read that it helped people with mh problems, so I tried it with a little too much hope that it would bring me out of it, and was a little disappointed when that didn’t really happen.
I didn’t completely follow the rules to a T, because I can’t always eat at work when I’m hungry, so sometimes I had to wait, but everything else was pretty much to the letter, save for the occasional RX bar (which is still compliant as long as you don’t overdo it). But, I work in a bakery and went two months without eating any of the food there, so I was glad to see that I could challenge myself to do that and succeed. I did it for about 50 days and then another 14 for reintroduction, because my body tends to react slowly to things hoping that
The best things about it for me was just that it got me to cook. I grew up in a family of non-cooks, so it forced me to put way more work into the food I ate instead of eating for convenience. I was also cooking for other people in my house who were sort of doing the diet, and adjusted some for a person who can’t have any salt. It helped me realize that legumes make me extremely gassy(or at least lentils do), and that cheese wasn’t having much of an impact on me as I thought. But, I didn’t have the magical results a lot of people do. I actually gained a bit of weight, but my clothes did become looser, so I’m not putting too much stock in the weight portion.
I’m open to any advice. The RX bars are really the only thing I can think of that weren’t really the best choice(but even those I only had on occasion). I tried my best to stay in the spirit of the program, and maybe I could have exercised more, but I was hoping for there to be more positives than I got, especially with mental health, energy and certain dietary issues. I always assumed milk was what blocked my digestive system, but eliminating it for two months only helped me a small amount. I was hoping to have more energy and feel a lot better, but I was disappointed that after 64 days, my depression only lessened a little bit(and I was doing a lot of therapeutic-related things as well that have helped in the past while I was doing whole30, so the actual difference might be even smaller). I don’t know if anyone else has had similar issues and found a solution, but if there’s anyone out there who had a similar experience to mine and made changes that worked, I’m open to suggestions or insight.
but isn’t the point to find out what foods aren’t right for you? It would have been cool to hear about the reintroductory phase. After all, it’s not really supposed to be about weight loss., that’s just a pleasant side effect
did you do any form of exercise during the 4 weeks like fasted cardio for 30-40 mins…i would equate this diet to just very clean eating without sugar dairy or starchy carbs
Makbang videos. Haha. I notice many kpop artists like making demos of their foods.
I did whole 30. I loved it. Not being able to have sugar really made fruits taste like candy and now I hardly ever go near sugary snacks. My weight changed slightly, but my main goal going into it wasn’t weight loss, it was changing my eating habits. I was addicted to sugar and soda and now I’ve almost completely eliminated both from my diet. I would recommend whole 30 for sure.
Starting off any plan/change by saying “I’m terrified…” is not a great way to start.:( I highly recommend reading the Whole30 books to learn and get excited about all of the reasons you’re doing this plan. The Non Scale Victories are the biggest reasons to do this plan.:) I lost over 100lb and having a positive mindset is the main reason. No fear, and positive self talk.:)
Totally off topic but.. Where did the woman on the left get her soft trench-esque coat?
What was the genius recipe you showed a picture of? I’d like to know what it is and how to make it. (Around the 6:20 mark)
you helped me a lot with my body and my school work and i give you all the credited
Comments like below is why I hate Whole 30. It’s already so strict with the base rules. Then there’s all those little rules the creator added and people are so uppity about it
The girl in the video was more concerned about her social life and skin problems…than the over-all effect of whole30. How was energy levels? What triggered cravings? How do you feel? Would you do it again? What did you learn? What advice would you offer? Also…she didn’t lose much weight or have the success the diet promotes because she basically cheated with chocolate and dried and frozen fruit. Cravings are bitch! And that’s one of the purposes of Whole30 is to break those food addictions. Can’t do it if you’re doing it.
Anyway….
I noticed that when people do whole30 many of them try to find ways to curb their cravings by “cheating”. Like eating the whole dried fruit in one sitting. Or making pancakes with paleo ingredients…or finding some yummy recipe that substitutes for what you were eating before. My thoughts are that to have the best success is to follow the plan as simply as you can without creating elaborate recipes and plan what you are going to eat ahead, then only have that food available. Forget take out. Forget shopping at the last minute. Forget going out to bars and potlucks. You are just setting yourself up for failure due to temptation. You’ll also be creating undue stress by being around things you can’t have, instead of being at home eating the things you can have. If you do fall off the wagon (eating a big ol bag of dried fruit that’s not on the plan), then you need to start over. To have the best results…although admittedly more difficult, stick with the menu, keep it simple, and focus on getting healthy instead of worrying about your social life. Think of it as a food and recreational vacation/retreat for 30 days. Stay home or head to the gym or a walk/run/swim/ fresh air. Don’t keep temptations in the house. Meditate and read a book. Spend quality alone time with yourself. Unplug and detox. It’s only 30 day…you can do it and reap the rewards. And finally…have a plan for day 31 and beyond.
Thank you for not being one of “those” Vegans who tell us we are evil because we want to keep some meat product in our lives.
She probably had reasonably good gut health to start. Her changes were not super dramatic. Someone with really unbalanced gut health and bacterial over growth will have much more dramatic numbers, in a positive way.
I think that it´s not real Whole30, there were too many things which aren’t allowed in this program. For me it´s not clean W30, sorry…
I like how honest and real this video was and it inspires me to try this out!
I lost over ten pounds doing this for one month really works I was never hungry lost the crave for the sugar… My skin was very clear this is now my go to diet!!!
I can’t really relate to this girl since I’m alittle bigger, I’d love to see a bigger person go
Looks like she lost mostly water and muscle. She needs to start this over again. Eating that fucking dried fruit wtf.
I’m planning to do the Whole30 this summer. Has anyone figured out how to do a decent cup of coffee that is ok while on this protocol? I like do add creamer and sweetener. I MUST have my coffee.
Ok, you can’t have that chocolate bar on a Whole 30, btw. That breaks the SWYPO rule.
Pretty much everything I love and enjoy I can’t have on this diet lol but if it means living longer why not
Better late than never from your channel! Thanks for highlighting this.
Great video! I didn’t know lots of this, as a vegan whos on the lower end of healthy weight and overthinks a lot, its good to know how healthy stuff is and then just moderate amounts. Cleared up my confusion on smoothies and nut butters and syrup and just yep its not an all or nothing thing like my mind sometimes thinks! Slowly improving my diet but working on adding more healthy stuff instead of cutting out less healthy stuff as I’d like to put on some weight (often neglected in wfpb talk)
I want to try this so bad just to see if I have any food sensitivities. I’ve had GI problems since I was a freshman in high school. I know there is a number of causes such as stress and genetics but the fact that I eat pretty healthy now and still have issues kills me. Wonder if some of it could be attributed to certain grains or dairy. I’m pretty sure I am allergic to lentils as I had a beef and lentil soup one time and it irritated by throat and now I’m afraid to try anything new like quinoa or couscous.
Ahhh thank you so much for this!! This is the best video I’ve found about whole foods! I really loved all the details:)
That’s not really an “elimination diet.” That’s something different altogether, designed to introduce one food at a time in an attempt to identify allergens. That’s frightening that you can become a registered dietician without knowing exactly what the fuck that is.
I’m an Independent Consultant with Arbonne, and we have a 30-days to healthy living program that I would love to see you review and compare to this challenge!
Loved this video. I just started the Paleo Diet three weeks ago (with one cheat day a week). I’ve also been running on the treadmill 4 times a week. So far, I’ve lost 11lbs! You are right about substituting the things you love with a healthier option. I’m now craving healthy food, no longer wanting to cheat, and have an abundance of energy! Great job!!
I’d advise anyone thinking of undertaking the Whole30 to fact-check some of the bold claims they make.
https://nutritionasiknowit.com/whole30/
I like you channel. I hope my channel can be as good as yours some day.
Looks like you had a great experience trying Whole30! To be honest though, some of the things you showed that you were eating are not compliant. There are things that are still against the rules even if the ingredients are technically compliant. All that being said, I would love to know which Hum vitamins are 100% compliant. I had to cut them all out on my round and would like to know before I start my next one if any are safe.
Zena looks SO good! Good on you for doing this! It is NOT easy haha!
I love whole 30. I lost almost 20lbs last year and kept it off an entire year! Now I’m trying to incorporate Keto and Whole 30 noticing how certain foods affect my body and triggers migraines.
@Vegan Michele I’m interested in a plant-base lifestyle, i have type 2 diabetes and to say i’m overweight, is putting it mildly. But i’m also a little confused on how to start. Having said that, my question is after consuming so much aspartame -equal to sweeten everything, what do you use to sweeten coffee as a vegan? Thanks
I’ve been vegan for years but recently started following WFPB eating. I feel SO MUCH better! I make pasta fagioli from scratch using organic vegetables and vegetable broth, brown rice bowls with beans and avocado and broccoli & lots of huge fruit salads & vegetable salads. It’s so easy cooking this way and you feel so much lighter after eating. This was a great guide, thanks!
Very good information. I watched the video on juicing for the skin. I jotted down all the mentioned ingredients, but was hoping for some amounts each per drink. Also, can you suggest a juicer you think does a good jobone that does not destroy the nutrients. They are lots of juicers and some are lots better than others. Thank you!
Hi Michael what oil would you recommend instead of olive oil?
just starting on the WFPB way of life and this video is great, I love the links below too, however the 7 day healthy vegan meal plan short URL seems to be broken, is this a you tube video? thanks
I’m not that great with YouTube. ☺ where do I find the grocery list and salad recipes you mentioned in the video? Thanks!
Hi I’m a twelve year old who wants to make a big lifestyle change but my all my Family members are essential workers my moms a nurse my sister works at a grocery store and my dad a truck driver how can I get the Whole Foods if there says working
Hi, I am a new subscriber, looking for a new way of eating. Can hardly wait to see more vids ^-^
Hi there, I think the content is awesome in this video! I’m not sure if it’s just me but I really had a hard time focusing with the music in the background. I had to concentrate really hard on what you were saying. Just some feedback. Thanks!
Love cooking this way. Our health is just getting better and better each yr we eat this way. Thanks for the vid
Only 2 critiques:
(1) apple juice, cashew yogurt, tofu = definitely not WF.
(2) olive oil = not to be judged as harshly as other oils.
Otherwise, stellar video; very enjoyable to watch, and thankful for how many people this will help. Namaste, Love & Light.
I just went vegan 4 days ago:) Absolutely loving eating this way!
Thank You for explaining this, im already Vegan too but started today….
Your ethos for eating vegan and going vegan is so nice compared to other influencers especially Freelee. Keep doing what you’re doing!
I found your video straight forward and extremely helpful! Thank you!
I just went vegan and i been incorporating plant based meals it’s been 1 week and I feel amazing thank you for being informative
I love Dr. Klaper. “It’s the FOOD!”
I wish all doctors were as trustworthy and unselfish as him.
I still struggle, but way better, I just keep going. I used to get down on myself, but not anymore. Just keep going! This was good thank you!!
Except the problem with bread is that when I look around at the ingredients of every bread on the shelves at Whole Foods and elsewhere they all have sugar added to them.
I prefer to die as a man than to live like a rabbit. A life without cheese, fried chicken, a burger, ice cream, french fries? never a Pizza again?! all of that always replaced with fuckin salads without oil? ar you fuckin serious?! if the rabbit diet allows you to live until 350 may be i’ll think about it. but c’mon, at best, the rabbit diet allows you to live 5 more years than the average more or less healthy guy. So i give an emphatic “fuck” the rabbit diet!!!!
Thanks for the informative video always love watching your videos
Sadly, I think dr. Klapper failed here. In the first 60 seconds of this video he said WFPB is “the same diet we’re eating now without the meat, Dairy, eggs, hydrogenated oils, sugars…”… For most Americans, not really.
Then he said the diet is based on “colorful salads, hearty lentil stew and bean burritos, and fruit and soup”… When average people here that they are going to hear “soup and salad and fruit”!
Major, Major misfire on the first 60 seconds. Sound bites are so important.
I might have to weigh in on this.
Elephants and cows build muscle on plant diet he says. So we have four stomacks so break doen this fold too. Nooooooo.
Whole Food Plant Based Diet vs. Ketogenic Diet.
I bet in 5 to 10 years the common enemy of the carbohydrate rich diet of today dies out and we will have a new “race” war of plant munchers against grease suckers.
Did I hear right? She only lost 3 pounds, but also list 3 inches? Wow! How does that work?
My room mate is on the Adkins diet and I wanted to see how perceptive he was, This morning he was in a hurry and left for work and did not flush the toilet, As you know the Standard American Diet (SAD) is loaded with fat, sugar and salt which equates to great taste. So I put him to the test. I removed the turd and smothered it with lots of butter, a cup of sugar, and a touch of salt. I mixed it thoroughly and threw out a package of his hamburger and replaced it with the turdburger. He came home tonight and sure enough he made a “hamburger” and mentioned later that it tasted great. Do you think I should tell him why it tasted so good?
Oh man, what’s not to love about Dr. Michael Clapper?! I love this man!
This is true. Dark chocolate always taste 1000 times much delicious than dairy chocolate for me The aroma, wow
FISH IS ALSO A MEAT!! Ugh the amount of times I hear “well if I can’t eat meat can I eat fish?” AAAaaaahhhhh….. if a being has a face and a beating heart… It’s a nooooo.
Currently doing whole30 challenge. I wanted to know what dish you made?
Yo don’t eat that so called dark chocolate lol, that shit has animals hidden in there lol, fo real
I would love if Dr. Klapper were my physician. He speaks clearly and concisely.
It’s a while since I have watched NZ TV. However, with James and Dr Klaper going there recently, well I feel like I am up to date:D
Dr. Klaper interview with three zombies…
why can’t I have my dead flesh?
hahaha lower in calories but you burn glucose with that blood sugar rollercoaster and you need to eat all the time
After eating whole food plant based diet..I don’t know how i lost 2 kgs of fat even eating in calories +
Fishing is good excuse to do
(1) Take a break
(2) Relax
(3) Some thing to do
(4) Adventure
(5) Fresh air, sun light and light exercise
(6) To do drugs
(7) Free food
(8) Masculinity
(9) Fear
(10) Cost
I’d say for most, alot on that list aint a deal sealer. Such as masculinity which gender has nothing to do with it any way other then if think are a eagle getting food for hatchlings in nest.
Vegan replacements can be:
(1) Photography
(2) Snorkelling and Skin diving
(3) Volunteer biology and environment measurements
(4) Bird watching
(5) Yoga
(6) Body building
(7) Sun gazing
I’v seen alot fishing competitions will not award prizes for fish that aint alive and photoes taken and even phone apps that track position. Just finding the fish and documenting it, proving it, is the real competition.
Should probably hear his concerns that of if veganism takes over the place will be boring and possibly increased taxes will cripple alot of people from being able to do any thing and maybe evern the removal of taxes because fishing license fees pay for jobs and is illegal not to have on. Fishing is one of the very few things have to do. There is hardley any thing to do.
What is the replacement/s?
Fishing is meditative and calming, until have to fish. But the process of going for a walk and sitting down in quite spot or saying hello to some strangers and meeting people, so of a community thing, a bonding thing.
I don;t think nay body actually give a shit about fishing, just the other stuff, the culture of it. What is at the the centre of it nobody cares, just mental block it out for the greater good
Runs 8k a day… Anyone see Mark Sisson or Tim noakes do that these days??
Funny how Klaper is the only one showing the slightest bit of maturity.
I make and eat hearty vegetable stew, and I find my parents eat my stew.
This is the most straight forward, direct, effective answer to this question!
THANKS for posting it!!
Am I the only person who when feeling a bit ill or under the weather…I only crave fresh fruit or vegetable soup? I think it’s nature’s way of trying to help you get better..
Like most they didn’t get it! they never will, and don’t want to. Bang ya head against a brick wall. I’m a 65 vegan athlete.
It’s amazing the life changes you experience when you move to a plant-based diet thank you I just hope everyone in the world will become vegan at some point much love peace
Mr fisherman says: “even the ones you catch?” Does he think all the other fish just leap out of the ocean willingly, or that somehow fish being caught by a rod and reel makes all the pesticides and mercury evaporate.
Dark chocolate can still have dairy ingredients.. The problem is processed foods have to go in general.
Thank you, another good video. However I feel flours might have been better covered. Whole wheat flour was mentioned briefly; do you have any views on stone ground flour vs steel roller ground flour; then I believe sourdough breads have a lower glycaemic index than yeast risen ones. (I don’t eat any flours, bread or flour products; my grains are boiled whole brown rice and sorghum, sometimes barley seeds of which only a skinless type is available here.) For those who eat it, wholewheat pasta is acceptable I suppose though made of finely ground flour? But as you did stress grey areas abound; the overall idea of a spectrum and one’s goals was well made, and many good specific examples. Thanks.
he was the most important part of Cowspiracy when he said that we shouldn’t be drinking baby calf food. Amazing human!
I HATE THE PROTEIN QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!
Im so sick of it! GAWD! Like people don’t know that by now! If you are eating a well balanced vegan diet you will be deficient in NOTHING! Apologies for the caps, I’m just really, really tired of that stupid question. Its like people thing protein ONLY comes from meat. Geeze!
You can’t be vegan and be picky.
It’s just not compatible.
You better learn to like foods that you never liked before or you’re going to starve.
You can train your mind to like foods that you never liked.
I never enjoyed tomatoes, onions, or spinach. But I tell you what, I eat them every single day and I love them now.
I don’t see it as food, I look at them as nutrients.
I love this man and he has an amazing heart.
But I disagree with his olive oil causing heart issues and an once of fat in the diet makes you gain weight.
Science doesn’t support it
I love how he saying don’t eat meat, but then they’re trying to push him into saying what meat is best. Tripping me out
BUT I’M THE GREATEST FISH KILLER AROUND. WHERE’D YOU GET YEH MERCURY, MATE?!
I guess we can remove stoves, ovens, microwaves and grill if you want to go on a whole food plant diet. heck why do need tables sand chairs we can just eat on the floor. heck even sleeping on the floor is better than the bed for your body posture so let’s just dump the furniture industry. ww don’t need to take down trees, we can live in a nice small shack and still be able to get around.
Well said Dr Klaper! I cannot expess how happy I was when he mentioned burritoes
I’m happy I came across this way of life. Never been happier and healthier. I’m really fat (though I’m dropping weight faaast) and sometimes I’ll just get the urge to go for a run or do some push ups. I’ve got soooo much energy it’s insane. I used to have trouble just getting out of bed, physically and mentally. Now I have trouble figuring out what to do with all this pent up energy! I even jog in place while playing video games now, because sitting is just not energetic enough XD
Best thing you could ever do, guys. Plant based!
With this and James Aspey also being in New Zealand it’s been a big week here for veganism. Couldn’t be prouder for being vegan
can someone give an easy explanation to why freshly squeezed juice is not healthy either? i’d like to know how to easily explain it.
Hello, have you heard of “BELLYfatTACK” yet? Simply google for it and you will spot bellyfattack.com There you can find a beneficial free video presentation by a recognized medical professional talking on how to eliminate body fat. This helped Michele to burn her belly fat. Just give it a shot. Perhaps it will work for you as well.
Dr Klaper is the best!!! I love all of his interviews and his enthusiasm:D
Love your vibe Ellen! Plz post an eyebrow tutorial or a makeup tutorial next!!
Yay, thanks for posting this! I didn’t know Dr Klaper was here, at last maybe a greater shift towards plant-based here in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Nonsense! I got the exactly the same effects by doing a LCHF high fat animal diet! First off the herbivores have much larger intestines and bacteria to break down carbohydrates to produce their needed fats! It is the grains, potatoes, fruits and sugars which are the toxics in the human diet!
You will be shocked…. To the general public it’s so shocking that it gets dismissed as it’s so controversy.
Alzheimer’s is not a circulatory disease… just wanted to put that out there
Olive oil is refined but what if it’s eaten with fiberous foods in a salad? Is the fibre “shared” when ingested in the same sitting?
Guys, I’m slightly confused could someone help?
I’ve been no sugar, oil, or salt wholefood plant-based for a week now and am absolutely loving it, but I want to incorporate more traditional meals like burgers and chips, lasagne, apple crumble, chocolate brownies, etc.
what I’m struggling with is trying to find recipes that fit being SOS Vegan because this video has confused me as like the desserts, for example, to be sweetened the recipe may say to use dates but then blending it will separate the fiber does that mean it will still be the same as normal sugar and just spike my insulin? or on the Engine 2 diet, for example, they say that you can use maple syrup, but isn’t that refined since it’s not in its wholefood state?
Or am I just being too strict?
Wonderful interview from one of my all time favs, Dr. Klaper. Got so much information across in such a short time in such a pleasant manner.
7:01 tofu is 40 percent fat? did he mean butter?…tofu is bout 4% fat
Look at the idiots getting their dietary guidelines from YouTube talking head misrepresenting the facts and cherrypicking bogus research.
You never talk about the the pro and cons from drinking tea normal or herbal
Outstanding, exemplary use of relevant studies, graphics. So to the use of your time and the viewers’ time and intelligence.
Very cohesive and coherent.
Appreciate the the quality of studies and that you link them in the notes!!
Keep it up. You keep making strides in production quality, messaging and authority of material. These efforts will be rewarding exponentially. You’ll see and make connections across the idea and subject spectrum.
From the “invisible” physiology to in our face international policy, it’s about freedom, health and level of choice of both.
Stay focused. It’s in your reach. We all win, critters to cretins.
Havnt don’t Whole 30 but I do want to try it sometime. I started counting macros a year ago. Lost 30lbs in 5 months. And after I realized there’s about 100 calories in a shot of alcohol I rarely drink it anymore. And I’m 26.
This got me more confused. What foods can I blend and which not? Are peas blendable? Can you make a video of foods which you can blend and foods that would be better of if you don’t blend them?
I could never give up wholewheat pasta, it’s so versatile and cheap for anyone on a restricted budget such as myself
It’s very bad for your health to go plant based and watch all these videos. Do you know why? Because you see what your parents, relatives and friends are eating and you start stressing about their health.
Maple Syrup messes with my blood sugar like nothing else. I’m Canadian, so this upsets me a great deal 😉
I can do without oils but still eat my nuts and blend smoothies. I think some of the stuff he said is a bit too exrreme for me but hes right everyone has different goals and everyone has to decide where the line is.
I mix my smoothie with a whole bunch of greens orange pineapple or sometimes mangos flaxseed chia seed.. it’s never just fruit…please tell me this is ok
Properly planning meals are SO IMPORTANT. Plus people don’t realize how a past or present eating disorder affects the transitioning phase of veganism.
AMAAAAZING!! I’VE BEEN GETTING REALLY LIGHT HEADED AFTER MY DAILY SMOOTHIES! LIFE SAVEEEERRRRRRRRRRRR
Honestly I don’t understand half of the scientific things you’re saying but you sound smart and I’m liking it
This is why a Plant-Based Diet is better for everything, Our Own Health and for The Entire Environment, it’s All Truth You Can Bet On It!!!
so much restriction geez. as a low rank member of the military living in the barracks with no kitchen just a hot plate, rice cooker, and a blender, not eating animal products in general will have to do lol this is like god level, where you have your own house with a lot of time and your own lil kitchen and most importantly, MONEY so you can buy overpriced healthy foods every grocery run. When people say everything kills you these days, it really is true. im just gonna do my part and recycle and not eat animals. thatll do.
Your skin glows on camera and you look “healthy”. You exude clean vibes. Congrats on finishing. Not everyone does.
Hi! You look amazing!! What was the recipe of the peanutbuttery looking bowl you shared?
Does anyone else think its annoying when she says ‘um’ too often.
Great interview.:)
So glad he came to New Zealand, we need more like him spreading the message clearly about what healthy food really entails, and how truly healthy food is also healthy for the animals and planet.
Dr Klaper is one of my biggest heroes.
What to do if I am vegan, try to avoid oil as much as I can but still having acne at age 19?
I am kind of a nerd, except I dont use videogames but still far from the sunlight most of the day due to studdy and homework, and only practice exercise once per week 1 hour.
Thank you Mike!!! For making these videos, I love them!!! They are very informative and helpful
Can you debunk some of the things max lugavere posts on Instagram? Thanks!
People badmouthing the flute it’s okay and relaxing to me ❤️
I like the content but I like the girl more and she dresses nice and appealing 😉
I consider anything that is made without chemical ingredients or chemical processing as “wholefoods”, but you also need to exclude anything that has large amounts of added sugar/salt/fat/etc. For instance, whole grain bread is wholefood (if it’s free of chemicals), but a donut full of sugar and fried in oil isn’t. But that’s just how I decide for myself because I have no issues with cholesterol, heart disease, etc.
I have been doing keto and am down from 161 to 145 have been at a stall, i was going to start a whole 30 and yesterday I added a larabar and some plaintain chips. I gained 3 lbs overnight. since I have been doing keto I wanted to weigh even though cutting Dairy and stevia. I think I need to do a modified whole thirty or keto without dairy and stevia. Dont think I can do the potatoes and fruity treats, which is a bummer.
Thanks for all this info. Great content. Olive oil unhealthy? Ouch. Greetings from Spain.
I trust that the little saturated fat in nuts will be handled reasonably by my body, because FIBER!
Dates as sweetener FTW
also i’ve read that stevia doesn’t spike blood sugar and can actually help stabilize it, making it a great sweetener for that WFPB life.
Love this vid. That’s why i prefer processing my foods myself lol. Cause then I watch my Whole Food Nuts turn into Whole Food Nut Butter or Whole Food Nut Milk (well more like coconut/oat/hemp milk cause I’m not a huge fan of nut milks), that way there is no question about it being Whole Foods. lol. Though I still love those japanese rice or sweet potatoe glass noodles. Yum.
whole food does not survive that’s y they process the food.
if we relied on whole food we would die.humans are the only animal
to process food thats how we survive.
now it’s probably because I’m coming from a background of mental health issues( and I revisited this video), I appreciate the broad view without it losing it’s point of looking at what a whole food is. Pointing out that there is a gradient of what foods make the “whole” food cut, while still holding to a level headed approach is really refreshing and encouraging.
Looking at Grade A and Grade B tracks; addressing the health benefits to reversing disease and the mental health aspects of if you need to eat something not so great go ahead if you’re in an airport.
The fact that you are delving into topics that span into the mental health realm such as eating disorders and offering to interview someone…
THANK YOU!
Banana blueberry kale or spinach (or both!) maybe add some hemp or chia with orange herbal tea. My go-to smoothie
I LOVE PLANT BASED NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cant watch all your videos fast enough!!! Love your down to earth way of being so informative!!
You explain things so well and I feel like I have a much better understanding of this now.
Corrina I love all your videos. It’s been almost 2 weeks since I’ve eliminated soda’s, junk candy and chocolate bars, french fries, and as many processed foods possible that I normally eat. I can see some improvement already to my weight and how I feel when I began this diet, and eat more nuts, fruits and veggies too. You’re such an inspiration:D
p/s: I just love it when you say the word “fructose” no idea why lol
Aaaaa thank you for addressing the whole eating disorder aspect. That’s so helpful and respectful
@ 6:24 you say that bananas don’t spike blood sugar, but it your blood sugar (N=1) video, wasn’t it spiked to a “diabetic levels”?
https://youtu.be/yAnS0WGU2dc?t=13m33s
Love the critical view on green smoothies, even though I like em. Any idea on reviewing the presence of berries to that? Greger is a big fan of adding berries to reduce the speed or sugar absorption.
how we can compare harm of animal products with harm of sugar and oils?? if you consume not enough calories that can cause more damage in some cases than eating bad food. and in some cases whole foods can cause allegric reactions, and refined food not causing any. so i think its stupid to clame that some plant foods are more healthy than others. its too much depends on individual. for example i have allergic reactions on nuts and seeds. but not oils. and more examples. i know many people who physically cant eat enough calories whithout junk. i think that will be better if they eat whatever whithout animal products, that not eating anything cause they dont have apetite.
Love how conscious you are of what you eat, health benefit wise!
Very good information, needed to know the science behind specific foods. Thanks for posting.
I’m sorry, did you say your body’s natural growth hormone production is bad? So how are you going to grow those beta muscles of yours without growth hormones floating around? Lol no wonder you are so frail.
And yet you claim there are natural vegan body builders out there… they must be on steroids then…
I bet you are one of those guys that gets 50-70 grams of protein in each day and thinks that’s good enough to build your body. Lol
Look at that pencil neck… why bother with the beard? You already look pathetically beta as it is.
Nice video and Explanations!
Summary:-
Processed foods = Packet foods.
Whole foods = fruits, vegetables, fresh meat etc.
Yes….caldwell esselstyn says his stricter no added fat diet is “plant perfect”..(perfect for reversing heart disease)..rip his son’s is “plant strong” (for people with no disease)
What if you like to have pasta? and are not able to make your own. Grandma made Lasagna and spaghetti for us. What would you suggest?
What’s your take on salt? Some of the plant-based doctors (McDougall, Pat Popper) seem to say salt is ok. Others are really concerned by them. Where do you stand Mike?
Hey Mic the Vegan! Thank you so much for all of your videos:D I have learned so much from tuning in. You said it was okay to ask questions so here’s one for you if you don’t mind. I have been vegan for about ten years now, and I usually air on the side of caution when it comes to processed foods. Recently, I have been learning more about the oil in my diet, and I have decided to cut out the coconut oil/sesame oil/olive oil. As of now there is one thing in my pantry that I look at with a side glance and that is coconut milk (canned, organic, from whole foods, usually use it to make some kind of curry or Thai style sauce). I think I’ve gotten way too comfortable using this stuff. Now that I’m thinking more about oils, I am also thinking about this coconut milk (which is pretty much just coconut fat) I am wondering if its effect on blood, cholesterol, and arteries is similar to its close relative coconut oil? Thanks again!
So juicing and fruit and veg smoothies and nuts are no good, As part of a standard vegan diet. Bummer, I thought these were all real health, this is gonna end up a never ending rabbit hole.
Is protein powder a problem mixed into a flour? So like, 2/3 cup of whole wheat with 1/3 cup of 1/3
What about endurance sports and glucose? I see some vegan cyclists in particular that put sugar or juice their water bottles and eat sugary dried fruits while on long rides.
My smoothies will never leave me! I’ll risk it. Although I never put apples or citrus fruits in my smoothies, just greens, berries and bananas
Can you do a video on water? tap water, distilled water, boiled water.
most nuts been genetically changed, all sweets no sweet potatoes, sweet peppers roots
1:51 have you heard of the banana campaign in Australia?! that’s not processed!
I notice many people keep on speaking about Custokebon Secrets (just search it on google). But I’m uncertain if it is good. Have you ever tried this popular weight loss secrets?
I read a lot of good opinions on the internet about how Custokebon Secrets (just search it on google) can help you lost a lot of weight. Has any one tried using this popular weight loss secrets?
When it comes to eating healthy, you must try not to fall victim to modern day fad diet plans. Extreme diets are a threat for your health, especially ones that seriously restrict your daily nutritionary intake. Many of these fad diet plans work for a short period of time and then the benefits decrease after a while. You should check out Custokebon Secrets on google since it isn’t just another fad diet where you starve yourself.
Very helpful!! I guess you don’t have to be a health guru to know the difference!
Are there any good things at all from eating processed food? I know they can cause cancer, but whole foods that are acidic like lemons weakens enamel
Good job on listing the health benefits but clearly massively misinformed about the environmental cost of the meat and dairy industry.
“A vegan diet is probably the single biggest way to reduce your impact on planet Earth, not just greenhouse gases, but global acidification, eutrophication, land use and water use…It is far bigger than cutting down on your flights or buying an electric car.” That’s from the author of the most comprehensive analysis ever of the damage food does to the planet, who became vegan after his research due to his findings.
https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2018/may/31/avoiding-meat-and-dairy-is-single-biggest-way-to-reduce-your-impact-on-earth
Okay but 3 pounds & 3 inches is not worth the stress of this diet
I had to laugh when the background transitioned to McDonald’s because that’s my favorite fast food
I’m trying to step away from all the processed junk, but sometimes I like something to eat that’s quick, fast, easy and on the go that doesn’t requires any major cooking. Not to mention that non processed foods are much more expensive.
Is white rice, wheat flour etc considered processed food? I mean technically it’s processed right?
People mistakenly take the word “whole” literally and I think that’s where a lot of confusion begins. I found it summed up nicely in this quote: “Whole Food Plant Based doesn’t describe every food item that goes in our mouths, it describes a WAY of eating. It’s basically a brand name of a movement, not a descriptor of individual food items.”
Very informative. And very beautiful. Thanks for the information.
Did the animal consumption ideologue Kris Gunnar relinquish control of this company? Today was a good day.
Is Fenoboci Diet Plan helpful to lost crazy
amounts of weight? I have learn a lot of good things about Fenoboci Diet
Plan (look on google search engine).
I love you!!! I am new to your channel and I cant stop watching. You have so much REAL knowledge!!! I love it!
” what the caveman eats is the real test for finding which is whole food ” is the best analogy to illustrate the point. Well organized talk. Thank u!
So basically another way to think of it is if I was stranded on an island what could I eat? Fish, nuts, berries, coconut milk, bananas etc…
What about vegetables and fruits that come in a can? Are they considered processed foods and not real whole foods? Thanks.
What kind of fish is good to eat and also is basmati rice is also good to eat as well as brown rice?
I loved your video! Thanks for sharing your experience with Whole30. I think I’m ready to try it. I’m sure you’ve tried all kinds of different products for your skin, but I would recommend a lotion called “Kiss My Face” (the one with Vitamin A & E). Not only do I love the name of it, but I’ve been using it for over 20 years now and people always say how young I look for my age. You’ll want to apply it to damp skin or wet your hands first because it is a bit too thick on its own. It says body lotion on the bottle but I use it on my face and everywhere else. It’s non-oily and won’t sting after you shave. Yes, it is very kissable because there is no taste and it smells naturally great with no added fragrance. Good luck with your diet!
This is all good information and all. But basically all I got from this is that the only whole foods are fruits and veggies. Don’t get me wrong I love some fruits and veggies, but I’m also bulking up and trying to get whole meats instead of processed. Are all meats processed then?
I’m a little bit annoyed by Esselstyn’s argument for juicing as an added way to bulk up on veggies you normally wouldn’t eat in a day’s time: “Do not juice. Fructose separated from fiber is too rapidly absorbed and injurious. You lose the benefits of fiber best obtained eating the fruit. Chew your food.”
If I’m getting my fiber from actually eating the vegetables, I don’t know why juicing would be just thrown out the window as a crap idea right from the get-go.
Had tobpause the video and say, damn baby you look gooood!
HEY, BOTH OF MY EX-WIVES TOLD ME I’M A CAVE MAN…BUT I’LL EAT JUST ABOUT ANYTHING!
Cave men wouldn’t know what milk or cheese is. So no dairy I guess… Lol
“whole foods come in varying shapes and colours”
.. just wait till 3d printing processed foods becomes common..
Hi, I have just discovered your videos & I think they are brilliant! Keep up the good work. Someone from Europe.
Mic
In dr esselstyns book p. 121
he says to “eat soy products cautiously. Many are highly processed and high in fat. Use “light” tofu. Avoid soy cheese which almost always contains oil and casein”. After having read his books over and overr again…talked to him over the phone on several occasions asnd listened to him on ted talks over and over, im sure he’s more concerned about fat from soy products affecting the arteries of his heart patients, than any weight loss issue. Ive honestly never heard or seen him reference weight loss?…the assumption being that just naturally happens on his strict version of WFPB no added fat diet…thought that may interest you
Geor ganne
I know someone that always ate whole foods and he got hit by a car and died anyway.
OIL-FREE COOKWARE?.. from what I’ve seen, Saladmaster cookware seems to be a great answer to that.
I’m on day 10 of my second Whole 30 round and it has been sooooo much easier. I HIGHLY recommend doing this program with a yoga challenge or some sort of meditative practice, and meal prep program. Check out SnapKitchen and use my promo code KSAN-9VR to receive $45 towards a Whole 30 approved meal plan or $15 towards your first meal. You can pick your meals for the week and have them delivered microwave ready. SOOOOO WORTH IT!!!:)
Have you experienced Skinnimaker System? (look for it on google) It is a quick and easy way to lose weight fast.
7:21 that chese looks wierd:D i don’t think some1 who see that cheseburber from the side will eat it with big apetite:))
Go Google Skinnimaker Routine and you will discover how certain foods ‘explode’ in your stomach.
so I’m all for buying locally grown fruits and vegetables, and I love making my own healthy “processed food”, like bread or granola for my muesli. This isn’t hard here in Germany, we have lots of health food stores that sell locally made food with short ingredient lists, etc.:)
I know it may not be the aim of this video, but it does make it sound like you have to eat fruits, vegetables and nuts all day. But I just dont think that’s a healthy diet, without some grains and some dairy. And since I go for the spelt flour pasta from the health food store, or enjoy things like whole oats or brown rice, I still feel like a really healthy and happy person.
I was so happy to hear bananas and berries are fine in smoothies because I drink that every day
You forgot about oil, sugar, white flour etc. These are highly processed food and more toxic than food in boxes. Cooking is also processing, though not harmful but you know loss of nutrition occurs. Unprocessed apple is yummy. Try unprocessed meat.
Please help me Psyche Truth… Unfortunately I’m allergic to a lot of raw fruits and vegetables. I’ve been able to eat cooked veggies or fruit but only in moderation. Is there a way I can get all the same nutrients from something else other than fruits and veggies?
question why no legumes, i can see soy beans but what about all the other amazing ones that are packed with micronutrients and fiber?
That chocolate bar is NOT allowed on whole30 so beginners get a real notion of what a 30 day reset is. That is not compliant, at all. Also, a whole pack of dried fruit really is a lot of sugar for a whole day:( if you keep feeding your “sugar dragon” it keeps getting harder to stay away from sweets.
Conventional agriculture produces more CO2 than animal farming (which accounts for about 2% of CO2 emissions, not a high number), because you don’t allow CO2 to store in the soil by cultivating it every year
Is there any specific suggestions based on if you are trying to imrpove brain health?
this is reeaaaly usefull:D thank you! <3 (sorry if my english is bad)
Thank you for this video:)
Can you talk about bloodtype and food and the relation?
I am just missing more specifics instead of just generalize talk about food.. fx.fruit and vegetables. We don’t benefit the same from it all.
Avocado etc. it is not good for bloodtype B and 0 they should avoid it because it contains lectin or other agglutinin (which I don’t know what is exactly)
but for bloodtype A it is neutral. Not good. Just neutral.
I love your videos. I hope you want to make one on a deeper level by going through which food is good for different types of individuals (bloodtypes)
And if you do so I have a question: I am bloodtype 0 ( specific meat is recommended)
I don’t want to eat meat anymore so how to get the right protein (bloodtype) instead. It does not benefit me to eat whatever kinds of beans and lenses.
Oh and one last and completely other thing. It is good to eat season food from the country you live in. Is that something you talk about?
Always good to see this guy pulling the wool back from people’s eyes, the secret is in the food!!!!
So many problems with whole 30! It is a restrictive diet which can cause and provoke disordered eating. Once the 30 days is over you will go straight back to your old habits and you will binge on the foods you haven’t had in 30 days!
I like your content. About to subscribe! Go and search for smzeus. c o m! Loads of YouTube channels use the site to promote their videos!
Ok good we have that settled then
Tofu is the ultimate food to be consumed without limits
Hi Ellen! I’ve been following you on Instagram for a while and I’m so glad you also have a YouTube channel! I’d love to see some make-up tutorials from you ❤️ xx
Some of the studies mentioned were from the 70’s. Although I appreciate all the information, I would love to see more modern studies referenced.
Green Tea is good for your health be careful and avoid drinking it during the meal because it can reduce the absorption of iron to 50%.
Would love to know what coloured contacts you wear! Love them lots! Also great video!
I wanna know if dates are worse blended? Is a date and banana smoothie good?
i’m gonna try the korean sweet potatoes when i get the chance i love food that’s easy to prepare. i liked that you included the health benefits for the food you ate. & what lipstick are you wearing in this video? it’s so pretty! would love to see some makeup videos, too!
“I recommend this guide:
phip.best/vegan/aLR
So grateful it exists.”
Last week my pancreas stopped working and suddenly I am on insulin. My nurse assigned to me suggested I change my diet to a whole food plant based diet as I will live longer. So today I threw out all animal products, processed foods and dairy. Off to the veggie shop now to stock up. I will slowly introduce the veggies etc so I don’t get the squirts.
Edit. The box some if this stuff comes in tastes better than the food.
Animal products are higher in calories? Rly? 100g of meat is 100kcal, 100g of grains or legumes is 370kcal.
The title of this video is Whole food, plant based diet beginners guide. NOT why you should adopt a plant based diet. Thank you for this pile of dung that my phone had to decode and show me thinking it was doing something useful for me.
To be honest, eating the sugary dried food would mean that she would need to reset & start all over again.
What about organic processed foods? Like Annie’s organic crackers? If you eat it in moderation, is it still healthy? Especially compared to non organic crackers?
Good talk. “Medical science is only in its infancy, yet it has shown that our natural diet is that which grows out of the ground. The people will gradually develop up to the condition of this natural food.” Baha’i Faith
what about whole grain pasta/rice? I cant see me getting enough calories without this in my diet
I drink a glass of carrot juice everyday with 1 tablespoon of olive oil or flax seed oil
Is it good or bad?
And 1 egg everyday for breakfast
“Slightly better choice for the planet?” Meat, dairy and egg production cause more greenhouse gasses than all of transportation combined! This after you quoted the huge advantage of vegan diets to the environment! You don’t have to choose between avoiding air transportation and eating a vegan diet. Otherwise, good video!
No snacking unless you’re breastfeeding or working out. No recreating unhealthy foods using whole30 ingredients that you used to eat like a smoothie bowl. I love that people are trying the whole30 but wish people/accounts would read all of the rules and actually follow them before they influence others to do it incorrectly. Also it’s not a diet it’s a reset. But hey at least people are trying it. #foodfreedom
1:57 hahahahahahahahaha
Dr K shutting down fishing and ‘best meat’ questions ❤️
If tofurkey, etc. isn’t allowed, what about regular tofu and tempeh? Thanks!
Does Pea protein also cause a spike in IGF1, thereby causing a risk of cancer?
Oh my God! I didn’t see this video coming! I also follow a whole food plant-based lifestyle. I never thought some nutrition facts channel I decided to follow would promote this way of eating. Earned my respect!
I’m with you on whole foods. I need to disagree on grains though. I went this route a couple of years ago and ended up fatter than ever. IF and a moderate keto-based diet have been particularly effective for me both physically and mentally-no more mood swings, down almost 50 lbs. in 6 months, and I was able to come off of my blood pressure meds.
