I’m looking to start limiting my calories but its really hard to do when I don’t have enough time at home to cook and meals are readily available at any fast food restaurant. So I came off the road. I started eating meals only at home and I severely limited my calories to 1,000/day for the last week. I’m down to 257lbs now but I want to see what other people are doing.

I existed on a VLCD back in 2016. I lost about 25kg all up which was awesome as I’d never lost that amount before it was my first real attempt. I purchased bunches of the meal replacement sachets and thought, fuck this. I’d rather weigh and track my food, counting calories and restrict them to 800 a day. So that’s what I did. 200 calories for breakfast, 200 calories for lunch and 400 for dinner. It worked out really well and I was never really hungry. I also ate things I loved like chocolate, salad dressings, Pepsi Max and cheese. Life wasn’t a misery. The only love lost was bread. Which remains my keyptonite today. At the same time I would walk between 8-12km day, 6 days a week. It’s the best I’ve ever felt. After that I just went back to eating whatever I wanted. I stayed at 82-84kg for ages but have recently piled it on due to stress and depression so I’m back on this diet. I feel so uncomfortable by comparison and I’ve lost all my tone. So many people label VLCDs as bad or unhealthy. It’s such a struggle that’s so unique to each individual do what works for you. The best thing you can do is talk to others too cause you just may learn something. I know I’d rather a plate of watermelon or low cal jelly than a sachet. Just sharing some of my experience. How much weight did you lose in the first 1 month to 2 months of the diet? I know you said in 12 weeks you went from 305 to 231 but what exactly was the breakdown? Where was the most weight lost at? I’ve started an 800 calorie diet and right now Im 224 down from 231 already and Im trying to gauge how long it will take me to drop to 185 to 190 with my ultimate goal being around 168ish to 175. I also don’t mind incorporating exercise but will I be able to sustain exercise? My current diet plan has me consuming about 800 to 850 calories with around 80 to 85 grams of protein.

Good for you. I have been trying to slim down also. I have not seen this video before today. I stay between 600 to 1000 calories a day. Plus Black coffee, Aloe Vera juice berry flavored, And water, sometimes an energy drink. Plus resistance weight training. I lost 24 lbs in 6 weeks. I eat only when I am hungry, and it wasn’t really hard. But did have cheat days on weekends, and of course vacation, which I added 4 of those lbs back. My wife was concerned, because I was normally consuming I would say 3,000+ calories a day. I am now back on track. Diet and workout running on all cylinders. Keep up your great work. Yeah, I too am guilty of jumping from weight loss plan to others as well, I do believe that I must have tested every fat reduction system that was available, but eventually not one of them made it easier for me to reduce and keep the weight off. Low calorie and low carb diet does work to lose weight, but not good in long term you are hungry like really hungry all the time. And your losing energy by doing this. I don’t do this, because of the hunger. And if you exercise low calories and low carb you may pass out if you dont have enough energy to excercise. when I excercise like going for walks I’d be so hungry after and that’s because I burnt all my low calories off, you need enough in your body so you can go for walks. It doesn’t make sense.
