I am a Vata body type who lives in a cold climate and years on an all raw vegan diet made me very ill. Ayurveda teaches that there is no one diet that is right for every body. A raw diet caused me to lose too much weight, become weak and anemic, feel cold and spaced out, and have many terrible digestive issues due to loss of digestive fire. My body seems to need mostly cooked foods to be healthy and I worry that others may become ill if a raw diet is presented as good for everyone.

I eat all raw food except for meat, fish, poultry and eggs. No bread, processed oils, packaged or processed foods and no milk products. I combination of green smoothies, nuts,seeds, avocados, meats cooked in water (not browned) and unblended fruit for dessert makes a realistic alternative to a strictly raw diet.

Soaking beans overnight will not make them edible raw. Many beans are toxic raw! (lectin poisoning.) If you want to eat beans, you have to soak them overnight and then sprout them for several days. Lentils are your safest bet and easiest to sprout.

You’re absolutely adorbs!!! Totally with you on the fabulous things we can eat that are raw vegan, but like you I can only do this for a short while. Eating Vegan is a challenge enough and I totally respect the ideals behind it. As a vegetarian all my life I also felt ousted most my life. Some ppl I met were like… just try a little bit. Or it’s just a little meat, here. As they pushed me to have meat. I am vegetarian by choice. My entire family eats meat and I’m all about the animals but that’s not why I don’t eat it. I just can’t wrap my head around eating an animal or a corpse or dead flesh. And I thought this when i was a kid, without anyone putting it in my head. So go figure 30 years later… I am able to survive without eating animals. Yes, it’s possible. Aim to increase the percentage of raw food/unprocessed food from wherever you’re at now, to 80% or so raw. Probably best to do it over time.. slowly adding more good items and dropping more bad items.. nuts are high in fat, but not the same kind of fat… greens have building blocks of protein that your body puts together.. especially with a squeeze of lemon juice..

I was told that leafy greens are made up of protein (amino acids). And if you eat a variety of leafy greens you will get the essential amino acids (protein) that you need.
Raw vegan cannot be called anti cancerous diet. Cancer is cased by bad emotional vibrations (ex. Long term stress, prolonged deep unhappiness) and poisonous food (meat, processed and cooked food). If the diet is changed cancer can be reversed yes, however if the cancer is caused by emotional disfunction it won’t be enough. Spiritual peace is crucial to life just as good live food.

How many apples are too much… I had 3 already today… I started eating crab apples from the local trees in the neighborhood and it turned into a full blown Steve Jobs apple habit they see me coming everyday buying apples lol I didn’t do it for the vegan reasons… I did it when I found a lump on my testicle and in my face and neck… And wanted to give myself a best fighting chance as possible if for some reason I was given a diagnosis In the future… I don’t know if it has helped me.. Because I’m still feeling sick and going through the hassle of the Canadian healthcare system which is very slow… Free… But slow.. The same results in America with the proper insurance can be obtained in a week and I’m going through the motions of referrals to get an ultrasound and then wait 2 months for the results.. I think I got ahead of the curve with ears nose and throat doctor next week..but I grew a beard that hides the lump underneath my jaw bone and the lumps in my throat and neck but they can easily be felt.. Not your typical vegan story… But I definitely have noticed a difference in mood… We don’t realize how being bound up can effect our day.. Just being able to get rid of the crap you shouldn’t have in you in the first place is half the battle… I really don’t know anything about Vegan diet.. I just know what I did this summer to try and save my life and found whatever way I could even if it meant eating crab apples from the local trees.. An apple is an apple to me.. I imagine that there might be a difference between species but the nutrients are definitely there

All fruits and vegetables have amino acids the can use to make protein. Each fruie and vegeatbles have oxygen, nitrogen, and other molcules the body can use to make amino acids. Nuts and seed are high in good healthy fats.

I am really trying to convert myself to raw vegan. I did buy some bananas,apricots,and avocado but then when I am at the store or at work those darn cravings come back for something not so healthy like milk chocolate or a lot of smoked salmon that is filled with salt, and then I get breakouts galore afterwards.Im thinking I might have to keep my wallet at home in order to do this.

As someone who has been vegan for years, I don’t think raw dieting is a good idea. It’s just an unnecessary restriction with no health benefit. It doesn’t help the animals to eat raw and it doesn’t help your body either. If you look at blue zone studies, you’ll find that the longest lived groups of people in the world all eat a lot of legumes. Legumes have to be cooked. Why would you intentionally exclude legumes from your diet? Same deal with fruitarian nonsense. No sense in adding unnecessary restrictions on top of the already restrictive vegan diet.

You mentionned that you used to feel ‘low, fatigued,etc’ after eating pizza and pasta. This is common. It may not be the raw food, that prevented that low feeling, but actually avoiding the heavy grains like bread, pasta and pizza. Many people, including myself, who have gone off pasta and pizza, but still eat meat and cooked vegetables will tell you the same thing. We feel much more energized and vibrant after a meal. I believe that it has more to do with avoiding the pizza and pasta, than it has to do with eating raw foods. Raw vegetables give lots of people digestive and thyroid problems.

Careful with uncooked rice eating. My sign other ended up going to a doctor because of stomach pains after eating uncooked rice all week. It is terrible for birds because it swells in the stomach. People are cautioned to refrain from throwing rice at weddings now.

after watching this video and your fruitarian video, i’ve noticed that you comment heavily on the protein content of these diets, how low they are. if you are feeling so incredible/noticing no energy loss on a ‘low protein’ diet, why are you so set on the amount of protein you get? it seems a little cognitive dissonance-y to me.
The key is to sprout seeds. All meat and milk products cause an immune response. It is your body but your choice to eat slaughtered animals. Perhaps people would think twice if they actually did the raising, killing, gutting and cleaning of the animals themselves. Soylent Green anyone?

Guys, build muscle does not have to be hard (I used to feel it did). I’ll give you some advice right now. Look for a diet plan known as Proladox Diet Plan (google it). Seriously, that course has changed my life. I have 2 weeks trying this and the first thing I noticed besides the rush of energy is that my defecation, urine and flatulence does not have any odors… it used to have a horrible odor before!

Does it really matter if you denature the enzymes by cooking the food?? Because I’m pretty sure that as long as the amino acids remain intact, you’ll have all the proteins you will need…

For protein try Hemp protein powder. Its amazing, has all the amino acids (important for building muscle) and lots of other nutrients.
This diet fad is an absolute joke. I’ve tried some recipes, they were god-awful. Everything is made with processed nuts.

The problem with fully raw diet is that I and many other people can’t afford that amount of organic fruits and vegetables and also is not sustainable to buy so many exotic fruits that doesn’t grow in our country or ate so many fruits out of season.
What if you are juicing your veggies and fruit, what can you do to add fiber? And what else is lost while juicing?

I agree with everything except the protein “Myth”. Humans do not need to seek protein. Proteins are chains of amino acids. There are 24 amino acids essential to the human body, 12 of which we produce ourselves and the other 12 we need to consume. Raw Fruits and leafy Greens have all the amino acids we need in the form of live enzymes. There has never been a case of protein deficiency in medical history, and excess protein has been linked to many diseases. Living food for the living body

Why dont vegans eat honey? It doesn’t ” come from bees” the way eggs and milk from animals. there’s so many health benefits to raw honey and it’s a healthy sugar substitute.
The protein thing is nonsense. You don’t NEED seeds or beans for this. Gorillas, horses, etc get all the amino acids they need from veggies. How does she think a cow gets so big? It didn’t get the protein to grow so big by eating another cow, or beans did it? It got that big from grass.

Wasn’t the whole reason we started cooking food was because we couldn’t get enough nutrients for our big brains from eating just raw food?
When I first started snorting coke, I noticed I was very energized! Next day I thought to myself, would I eat properly or would I rather feel energized and snort again? You know how the non-snorters are always low in energy and non-enthusiastic. Etc. etc.

I think I would do a “mostly” raw food diet and I’d just eat cooked beans… soaking them would take too long! Garbanzo beans and black beans are my favorites.

Not everyone is financially able to to eat at raw vegan restaurants. Or purchase ready made raw vegan meals.

And I am 13 right now but before u knew you I went vegetarian for about a year and vegan for about 2 years and just recently me and my wonderful cousin wanted to go raw vegan for a week. I did a vrrad and water fast for three days before. I purposely didn’t eat tons of bread throughout the day, but a little bit for each meal with water. That was whoa.
This sounds a lot like the Daniel Fast which lasts for 3-4 weeks. After the first two days, my parents were ready to quit because they were having coffee caffeine withdrawals lol
Stop eating meats isnt hard. Stop using spieces in food in general is gard and complicated. I’ve tried and went vegan over night..
Any marinaded and salted food (like cucambers or fish or nuts) are not considered raw as well. Besides, enzymes are not active in dehydrated nuts or dates etc, and to activate them you need to soak them in water.
Trust me having people look at you at restaurants because you have to have a substitute on your meal is a daily thing for all vegans. But im happy that people who choose to do this LIFESTYLE or at least try it, have an open mind! Mapkes me feel happy!
It may take the same time to prep your cooked food as preparing your raw food. I’m considering going raw this was somewhere helpful. I already knew most of the content. Thanks for sharing.

A week is not long enough. And veganism is just the beginning of a long journey. Your diet will change even further, and may not be considered veganism any longer if you wish to get adaquate nutrients as well as remain high vibrational. Furthermore; many of us do not realise we are “peopletarian” first, before any other form of consumption through the mouth. Peoplerarianism sets the road for liquidarianism, breatharianism, pranic nourishment, etc.
We are beings of light. Though, as humans, we have been conditioned to eat. But our greatest form or nourishment is the people we associate ourselves with.

@beshnola Hi… It is not only eating meat that contributed to a larger brain but cooked food… because it took less energy for our bodies to digest and process these food. Over the evolutionary process there was now more energy available to develop other organs and functions such as the size of our brains and intelligence. (As the theory goes). I am not a raw foodist but just inquiring on the potential benefits and weight management.

As someone in the food industry: no one gives a damn what you eat. Literally servers have seen everything we dont care. If we look annoyed after you make a specific change its only because the computer doesnt like it and it makes our job harder. I do it for a week by now and I dont feel those positive benefits you talked about Sir. i agree that veggies and fruits are good for you but I dont feel it at all. I feel less energized and weaker:(
You could have a gluten sensitivity and that’s why you feel tired. I have a gluten sensitivity (but I just say I’m intolerant so I avoid it all of the way) I recently got a biofeedback and figured out that I’m also lactose intolerant. Around a month ago I got so mad that the food I eat is horrible! I didn’t want to eat anything unless it is organic. My family would bring me down and act like I was crazy but I just felt better organic! Now, I think I’m going to go on a raw food diet that is completely gluten and dairy free and see what the results will be. I know my family will not support me because I don’t eat out, take medicine unless it is natural, or eat foods that are cheaper, but at least I know I have people out there in the world that eat what I eat!
I agree with the energy and that you are awake after a fruit or salad meal compared to a cooked one, in general terms. But for me, when I have a big meal of fruit, for example at this time (autumn), persimmons for lunch (mono meal, 1 kg) I feel too full, because the content of water I guess and I am feeling sleepy afterwards also… Sometimes I feel tired, sleepy and too full after fruit meals.

If you avoid straining your muscles, they are going to vanish eventually. If you avoid straining your digestive system, it is going to weaken with time. Then, all it can process effectively will be those foods that used to be “easy” for it once. This is how you lose muscle and this is how you give yourself eating disorders.
I think the biggest dealbreaker for me would be not eating hot meals. I like eating vegan options from time to time and I’m sure raw vegans benefit from the additional nutrients etc., but warm food is just so comforting lol.

Be careful its meant to cleanse the body. Its not good for long term. Tons of vegan deateration you loose collagen hair falls out and you have accelerated. Missing b12 and a host of other nutrients. Many vegans are anemic thats why they are always cold. Plus its takes so much extra preparation.
Also… You don’t need all those ingrediants. People make it seem like it’s so hard to start a raw diet. All you need is the produce section at your local grocery store. Lol

Cooked food is like instant coma lol I was bouncing back and forth for finacial reasons but got so sick from cooked I just made a way to make it work, I eat a bit less but it is nutrient packed raw foods now and I feel outta this world. I’m raw vegan 75% of the time, the only time I’m not eaten raw is when I’m visiting my parents in the weekends. I still eat raw for breakfast and lunch, but for dinner I eat whatever my mother serves me. I don’t wanna talk her into making something especially for me, so to stay polite and respectful to her I just eat it without complaining. Also can you do a video on teeth care/ what you use and how to prevent cavities I found out I have 4 cavities need to be taken care of. Idk what they put nor do I like it to fix it I want my teeth to regain the enamel and strengthen naturally.
