1200 is pretty good for weight loss @ 2 lbs per week. Everyone is different and has different needs. 1200 is pretty standard though. This is from experience, since I lost 100 lbs.

Though this works, there are ways to eat 1200 and feel more satisfied. Replacing a smoothie in the morning with egg white with spinach or oatmeal is way more filling. Also for lunch instead of having a plate of various little foods, it’s more filling to eat soup or a salad with protein, that would typically fall in the same calorie range.

I eat between 800-1000 cals per day (exactly bc I weigh my food) and I don’t eat breakfast, 200 cals for lunch and dinner and then that means I have 400 cals of small meals as snacks whenever I’m hungry xx I think I have an issue

I eat 1200 and workout an hour 3-5 times a week. The healthier h eat the more your calories will go. If u cut out dairy and add more veggies u get so much more food

When you start your diet is it best just to drop to the diet calories @ once (go from maintenance to diet) vs. drop in small increments—say only by 100 calories per week? This diet saved moms life. Hard. She lost 26_28 inches and four pounds…I did it with her and about the same results. Ten years ago. She’s older in her mind and won’t do it one more time. I’m 49 yoa, 5’3″, 118 lbs, around 23% bf. I did a lean bulk for 4 months in the fall and now want to lean back out. I was hoping my required deficit had increased, but no such luck. It still takes around 1200-1300, not including workouts obviously, to lose.5 1 lb a week. And that’s being VERY strict. The slightest “free” meal can take 4 days to take back “off” on the scale. Is this ok? Should I reverse? Do some folks just always have to diet with lower cals no matter how many lean bulks or reverses they do?
This diet is nuts. Nobody would last more than a day eating that little. It’s just not sustainable. I got 50 pounds overweight, but I came to my senses, changed what I eat, and I’m now losing pounds. Losing weight is in fact very easy, you do not need to starve. Quit eating out except for rare special occasions, do not eat any dairy products, and limit meat or eggs to a small amount to once or at most twice a week. Eat no white bread or white anything. Avoid oils as much as possible. No, olive and coconut oils are not healthy, it’s all lies to keep you obese. Eat a lot of rice, sprouted whole grain bread, vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Do this, and you will lose weight. No calorie counting, and you can eat till you feel satiated.
This is between 40-50g of protien, for people that are active and most people and general that just isn’t enough protien.

I was on a 1200 calorie diet for about a year. I lost 30lbs in 3 months
Most days i’m between 1000-1300 calories (5 days a week @ 9hrs a day at work i’m only lightly active), rare cases closer to 1400. This video is just an example and of just one kind of diet. It’s not hard to stay at/under 1400 calories daily and not feel deprived. Mediterranean diet is okay but I usually fluctuate around low-carb (not exactly keto since I don’t limit myself to only eating 6hrs out of the day) or paleo instead.

Most of my clients need to lose fat so I work on getting steady intake/determine initial maintenance, cut some weight for that motivation, some diet breaks, and then reverse out for building up metabolism and hormone profile. You can eat other food to equal to 1,200 calories. I ate so much today I had two salads with chicken cheese bacon bits and avacado. I also had half a cucumber and a banana. Then I ate a tangerine and a apple.

If you are going to start a caloric deficit, please do your research and calculate your TDEE so you can make a healthy choice for your height, weight, and activity level.

2 cups salad 12 croutons, 1 slice cheese, 3 tbs fat-free Italian dressing, 1tbs bacon bits 200 cal

This seems to be an excellent way to improve insulin sensitivity as a first stage of a complete healing process. Of course, if you go back to ‘normal’ eating, that is the Western Standard Diet, you reintroduce the cause of the diabetes and therefore worsen your insulin resistance again over time. After that diet you need to eat in a way that guarantees that you stay healthy. The best choice is a low fat (5-10% fat calories) whole foods plant based diet. In my case (I was prediabetic, BMI 34) it works excellent. My BMI is stable at around 23 and my HbA1c is now 4.6% at 750-1000g carbs per day.

I’m currently consuming below 1000 calories and go out jogging about an hour/5 kilometers everyday except on Sunday. I burned almost 700 calories a day. I lost 5 kilograms since I started on last month. I don’t know if it works or not. My target weight would be 58 kilograms.

i calculate that 250 gram of vegetables is NOT 200 CALS but only 60 Calories. I averaged out 10 different types of vegetable, just steamed of course if they were fried in oil… different story. A shame this is not clarified here. There is no hunger after a few days

Omgosh NOOO! I’m eating 1300 at the moment and yesterday it was like a banana blueberry smoothie, then a large size pita bread pizza (like the size of a medium pizza) with veggies, chicken and cheese with 1 egg cracked on top, then soup and herbal tea for dinner. I could have split the pizza into 2 meals but I had been to the gym, hungry and I just like a big meal for lunch. No idea how she’s preparing certain things but that would be like a 1000 cal day for me!
