Carbs hang onto a lot of water. You might not be intolerant to gluten, but see water retention because of that.
THank you for thepractice! It was very nice. Great to do it from home.
If you like cycling you should watch this https://youtu.be/rmkpKJNKvDQ!!!
Have a heater blowing on you and wear a hoodie if you are training indoors.
Meg you are great. Keep being a beautiful human inside and out ❤
How does the bike computer hold to the aerobars?? Is it polar adjustable front bike mount?
Do you find it harder to train indoors? Let us know in the comments below
I kind of wish you were either completely centered or more decisively off center in this video, I find it kind of unpleasant when it’s not clear if the position is intentional! Great vid though
This was motivational for me. I’m starting my spin class next week and hopefully I’ll lose my gut and moobs. I’m considered to be “skinny fat” and looking to tone up my physical appearance.
Wow I love that you put yourself out there what a great video it’s really got me thinking about doing a spin class
You are gorgeous AF
Hit me up if you become single 😉
I’m jk. Keep up the videos
Hi from Guatemala! in complete lockdown due to Covid 19. thanks for the workout it was really nice
thumbs down form throwing out a perfectly fine piece of cheese:,(
I love this so much! It makes me so happy to see that she has a normal body when she seats down and isn’t afraid to flaunt it.
Ett riktigt bra intervallpass, och så gillar jag den behagliga rösten på spinningledaren.
Thanks, You did a great job, really awesome! Keep them coming Please: )

That rainbow certificate @ 4:04!! Serious nostalgia, I got one of those 25 years ago
“PUT A COCK FILM ON”
WATCHING PORN ALWAYS
MAKES UR CONCENTRATING MUCH
BETTER….
love it!! Sweating like hell Perfect indoor training in these times!!
Been off the pitch for weeks, this has saved me no doubt! Awsome workout!
U look so good and sexy…there should be no bad commenters on here. If I good get that motivation and drive that you have it would be good. Nicely done
Where did was your membership? I’m new to Montreal and looking for a good spin place
I play video games during my indoor sessions. That’s the only effective way I know to keep my mind occupied… If any of you wants to get beaten in FIFA feel free to add me on xbox live mauriciogc96
Does anyone else love Chris?? he said everything I was thinking
I have use all your tips of this video and I need to thank you guys……… keep the good work!!!!!!!!!
I have 2 fans, one fan on my back and one fan in front of me in arms reach. I also have a ceiling fan on but have it sucking air up so it helps circulate air even more. If you realllllllly get hot you can also circulate air out of the room by turning the fan on your air conditioning without turning on the air conditioning if you have that option.
This is a great video!!! I wish I had this in the past but now I can share it to my loved ones
CRAZY!!! YES, IT WORKS. The more your try the more lucky you are. Keep doing it. You are doing GREAT!!!! God bless you
Such an awesome video! I’m doing this challenge this month, I just had my first class today and it went well
I’m sorry my beef with body image, is that American women are so obsessed with having big butts all the time and and lack of modesty.
Love from Ottawa Canada! I just joined a spin & barre studio! I hope 30 classes makes a change for me
Where can I buy a Tshirt that’s says “Coming Thick And Fast”?
Thanks, training out in the garden with a wheel. Best video for sweat, forget paid for Apps
Thanks for this! After doing this for three weeks, I can no longer fit into my skinny jeans.
I love thisI am struggling with this issue right now after some life issues and some slow weight gain.
Types of cycling motivations:
People: 1. To be fit and slim 2. To be healthy 3. To train for the race
Me: to watch James and imagine he is proud of me and also to be slim and healthy, but this is the bonus
Meg thank you for speaking on this topic. I have been fighting with those feeling all my life. some advice is the same but very hard to do when you can not think of a nice thing to say about your self you sit and look at empty pages or questions and think it would be nice just to disappear
You can’t imagine how badly I needed this video. Thank you Meg. Genuinely.
You are awesome! You’re literally the reason I learned that your body type/image/size says NOTHING about what you can ACTUALLY ACCOMPLISH physically and achieve in fitness. You talking about these things is SO AMAZING and IMPORTANT. PLEEEAAASSSE keep it up! The world needs women like you!
This video is way deeper than I thought! I love it!
Where is the love button???
I watch Tour de France videos while riding the trainer, I’ll do intervals that match the style of riding for a particular stage. Some days I may push a heavy gear and simulate climbing in the alps, or do sweet spot and pretend I’m time trialing, or ride above FTP when the race picks up or theres an attack. Bonus it keeps you on the trainer for a long time!
Is it always true that you can’t freewheel indoors? I saw that at least one set of rollers claims that the energy stored in its flywheel will keep the wheel spinning for 30 seconds while you coast.
By far the best at-home RPM training video. The instructor is awesome and the program intense!!
I couldn’t do any training last 4 months due to plantar fascia. I’m so glad that I did my first work out with you guys!!
Big thank you to all!! Xo
But in what tension are they cycling? My old magnetic bike has 8 tension levels and working out at 100 rpm at tension 1 is not the same as 2, 5 or 8.
Anyone knows the average of km done with this workout?
in general it’s true it’s harder indoors, more boring, no cooling and so on, so yeah: it’s harder
but there is one real advantage that motivates me a lot for indoor training:
I’ve got other stuff to do throughout the week like many of us:) and if you spend an hour on your turbo trainer it’s an hour of training that really counts and delivers you can really achieve what you want to achieve in that session
whereas when I am cycling out on the road sometimes it takes me 20 minutes stop&go from traffic light to traffic light, cruising around road construction and whatever…… it’s a waste of time trainingwise. It’s ok if you’re going for a long ride but if it’s within the week and time counts? THANKS for indoor-training!
Amazing! This is awesome! Thanks for sharing your journey!!!
Definitely one of my favorites. Thanks James (even tho you do lose count) now I know not to hold back at number 6 ummm 7…
Why is this a paid ad by TrainingPeaks, is it an attempt to gain market share on TrainerRoad?
For me the most important thing is having an accurate and consistent power meter. I find it incredibly motivating to ‘chase the numbers’ and watch my power increase from session to session. If I do a set of 5 minute intervals I will average the power across all intervals that means I have to finish strong or my overall figure for that session will suffer. What I also do is maintain a training diary. I mark sessions where I pushed myself with a green highlighter and ones where I didn’t give it my all in yellow. That’s so effective that I barely ever use the yellow highlighter any more. For me it’s also essential to follow a plan, once I am on structured training my motivation goes up massively and it’s really easy to train hard day after day. I fill in future training sessions in my training diary in pencil, along with social events, etc. This allows me to know exactly what session I’ll be doing and when, and never have to worry about clashes.
I’m surprised to see Dan training on a turbo rather than on rollers, I thought an ex-pro would definitely go for a modern set of proper rollers?
Bout to start this tomorrow! Excited to see where I’ll be at the end of July and beyond‼️
Edit**Day 1 down. Thought I wasn’t gonna make it. Did cheat at the very end during the cool down cause I couldn’t take the seat anymore but I stretched!
Love your new filming style, and love the topic of this video!! Keep crushin it!
Thank you! The progress was a great one! Don’t be ashamed of your body, we all appreciated you showing us the changes. Thank you!
I suffered so good, the result was a nice sweat lake, thanks for the routine!
10 days cycling almost from scratch after lockdown.. this is efin hard bro.. tried twice could not do even half…. damn…
Does anyone know, roughly how many calories this session burns? Of course it differs a lot but it would be nice to have an idea. This might be a stupid question.
Congratz!!! Spinning is awesome, im going back next week! Its so addictive
Just go outside and ride a bike. I can smell that musky indoor air from here. Also what’s up with tight cycle suit, you’re indoors! The only gusts of wind you’ll find indoors is the A/C and when someone farts.
The worst workout i have done so far. The effort level of rests should be at least 4-5 in order to burn fat!
Are you kidding me I i was done after keeping up with the warmup then they just went super saying I got too tired or maybe because I had the gear up at 8 the whole time don’t know if that matters tho
I have bike in my room but my goals is losing my fat of thighs and leg
Please tell me if this exercise effective for small my thighs
You really went all out on this one to try to give a well-rounded presentation on a serious topic. Here’s an upvote, and good work.
I bought a spinning bike and I’ve been following your youtube channel. Your classes are great. You definately have a fan from Tijuana, Mexico.
Thank you so much for making this video, I loved all of it but especially the focus on actionable steps.
I can talk what ever I want. Right? No one on the internet has to tell me what to do, Meg.
I am finding myself a little distracted by the background music in the video having lyrics.
Is true that doing out of the saddle interval with a carbon frame bike, you could end up with structural damages to the frame?
“How you look is 100% the most uninteresting thing about you” favorite quote
Definitely one of my favorite workouts from GCN. Even through it’s spring time and the weather is nice. I really see improvements when I do these indoor rides. Thanks.
This kind of videos really helps a lot to make us get along with our insecurities, which is super normal, and to build healthy mindset! Thanks Meg. ❤️
Meg, I was admiring your Hawaiian shirt (like, for real) when you made the fashion comment! Lol! “Fashion=Hawaiian shirts”. Hilarious!
This was one of the best 30 minutes workout I have ever had. Thank you.
Great session keep up the good work James’s talking makes it a little easier
THANK YOU I followed this session and felt so good!!!! thank you
This workout has really helped with the stress of my dad and mom being on the front lines I really needed an outlet and this has helped so much thank you
First try i only got half of this max effort.. Today i can fulfill all this training duration. Thanks GCN
yay! love the video Would be great if you could make this a series, and sprinkle it through out your regular videos xoxo
Teach me the best textbook I can do. Thank you teacher! From Korea
Does anyone know what music they’re using during the warmup?
Great short, hard workout! Need more of these! Thanks, from Monument, CO.
Hey, I just wanted to let you know I found you through Instagram as I am interested in a lot of gym inspiration but your videos are also amazing and so glad to subscribe!
Just tried it, from Braga, north Portugal! Very nice! Thank you!
The second one and the last one are the harder for me. Thank you guys, I hope I can see more of this kind of videos, 20-25 minutes workout.
While I was at university, I had to Turbo in my room, and just where I set my bike up it was in front of a mirror, and actually seeing yourself do the effort I found really useful to keep you motivated.
Amazing!!!!! thank you for sharing. Love the music, and your energy <3 Sweating more than I thought I would. love it.
Si and James provide the best workout sessions. Love the encouragement
I put a vid of some of my onboard stints together
(hpv racing see my Chanel if you don’t know)
Added some music and Vala
Works a treat.
So good to lose fat burnings for those who like to bike while on quarantine use this!!!
hahaha! there is a simple solution to better that experience! i can’t believe that nobody thinks about that. simply go outside with your trainer. find a spot where you have air and shadows and enjoy your session! i do my intervals like this. more pleasant and less stress. i use speed sensor on the rear wheel to have speed on my screen with HR + power. all you need to execute a great session. and we have a great view.
I’m from the UK and uve been doing this spin hit for a good few month now ! With the schools and gyms closed I’ve found this very helpful to fit in on a morning before my kids wake up or even on a night when they’re in bed. Half hour is just perfect! Really enjoy this. Thankyou !
This is really a fat burner. I’m going to do this as well as jump roping and see my results. So far this is day 3!
Can we have less of gobby James and more from the instructor
Seems easier than the 20s effort 10s rest I was doing. It doesn’t make me dizzy at least. lol
Awesome kick start to my morning, thank you Now time for Pilates
Hi Mark. Is there any science behind the benefits of keeping cool with a fan on the turbo trainer thus allowing you to put out more watts vs
not using a fan to train in effectively hotter conditions? I only race in the UK.Thank you Paul
I did the whole workout and recorded on my Apple Watch! It burns about 328 calories THX GCN FOR THE AMAZING WORKOUT!!

Hope you all enjoy this one or find it helpful! Thank you for being here and WORKING ON YOU! The easiest way to make the world a better place is to search for peace within one’s self. Thanks for making the world a lil bit better for the rest of us!
I’m amazed that there is only one mention of thesufferfest. If you enjoy suffering these are perfect for you. I have spent many happy hours in my torture chamber, moaning and grunting away with my headphones on the laptop strapped to the bike…….
Great music and funny commentary on the bike races I head off to my fantasy world, where I win every KOM and race…only the Jenster can beat me and thats just out of respect.
Try them, you can get them on Strava if your a premium subscriber
That dudes a great class leader I’ve dropped 10kg doing this once a day for 5 weeks!
I broke my wrist and needed a way to pass time on my trainer. Thanks for the tips!!!!
Brilliant. Tried the Peleton app and have found the GCN workouts far superior and free!
Great video Meg! I’ve been enjoying seeing more influencers with healthier body images. I wanted to say though in response to Stephanie’s comment that being over positive can be discouraging to others as it can come across as fake and ingenuine. Negative feelings are sometimes more reasonable than positive ones depending on the stimulus. Authenticity is key whether it comes to body or personality or mood.
I love your videos! You’re inspiring me to lift, even though right now I’m just working at home with dumbbells because 1. I’m broke and 2. Honestly I’m intimidated by the gym. I just buy heavier dumbbells whenever I can afford them. But someday I want guns like yours ❤️
Indoor training. Ha! A Fat Bike makes it completely unnecessary….
I have done this session about ten times so far this year. It must be my favourite sprint session.
Gracias
I could’ve said it in English but I feel it’s more honest this way. Whole heatedly, thank you
After doing this it’s shown how unfit I am lol, it’s not same as going on bike and just leisurely cycling. Calf’s are burning
May I know is there any minimum weight for the flywheel when purchasing an indoor exercise bike?
How many times should you do this workout a week to see results
Stick a band in your ears who’s songs vary in length a fair bit like say Nirvana, then do one song on, one song off… Some tunes are around the 2 minute mark, and some near 4, this really varies your efforts and replicates the unknown amount of timed efforts required on the road! Also throw in some one legged pedaling!
I’m looking for this not because winter is approaching. It’s quite the opposite with summer coming especially since we’ve already reached 50+°C
Advice please GCN! First winter training, to improve on 100mile sportive time. Base training in zone 2 or HIIT or mixture of both? If so how much do I need to be doing?
Hi there I am a beginner and I bought a stationary spin bike and have done this class 7 straight days and I love it! I feel so much fitter and healthier and my resting heart rate has dropped significantly. Is it ok to continue doing this session everyday or will it cause me to burnout?
You looked great at the beginning and at the end.
I’m doing spin at home with Peloton App☺️
Just started out on my cycling journey. 45 next Thursday ready for this challenge, see if i can handle this session a little better next time.
This was a real cracking video. I feel like getting on my trainer now.
I love to work with VirtualTraining from CycleOps.
http://www.cycleops.com/virtualtraining/overview
Easier to get my heart rate up outdoors with lower RPE. FTP is higher outdoors at lower RPE.
You guys are hilarious, the screams had me laughing out loud through my gasp for breath after that effort near the end. So much fun! You guys are awesome
It IS more difficult indoors. But I’m wondering why nobody has mentioned fresh air, sun or nature’s blessings. I don’t know if you guys believe in these things but that is how I feel. There is energy in wind n rain…
easier said then done you still paint your face…
Remove the make up and then do the same
Trying to get back into exercise after slowly losing the plot since lockdown! This 30 mins is great because you feel like you’re making a start, are doing something at last, and because it’s 30 mins it feels totallyy achievable when starting back! Thanks GCN!!
Is the 4 back up time necessary? I do 10 series of 30/30 without resting, Even I can do 15 series in a row, has the 4 mins of resting any benefits? Please answer me:)
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Thank you so much for the information. My fave part is loving your body for what it can do instead of what it looks like. Although this is something I know I forget quite often and the reminder was timely.
One of my favorite indoor cycling workout going week strong ♂️
Dusted my turbo off and set it up in the garage. Put the lap top in front of me and off I went. It blasted me but I will not be defeated. Thank you for uploading this brilliant video.
I am loving this workout. How often should I be doing this a week? And is it a one time a day workout.
Prefer this one over the highly popular Burn Fat Fast: 20 Minute one with the women. 8 30 second sprints, a good warm-up and cool-down and decent breaks in between sprints are great. Prefer listening to my own music to be honest and you will have a major sweat. Combined this with DDP yoga and not eating Pizza all the time and gone from 104kg to 92kg in about 7 weeks.
I’m starting a spin class too! I’m pairing that with yoga and body bootcamp classes. So excited to see my body transform to its best! And of course be healthier
Looooved this video.. you are an INSPIRATION to us all.. Thank you
GCN has helped me so much during this Covid time. I can’t thank them enough! This has helped to keep me sane and relieving some excess stress lately. THANK YOU!!
Is there a specific heart rate that you try to race at for each event? I have just begun cycling as some injuries do not allow me to run anymore or not anytime soon (a few years minimum) I have been doing 2 hour training sessions in between 120-140. But I’m curious if theres a specific spot you try to race at.
As a student I find a good use of the time is to have posters of revision notes stuck to the wall in front of me, or having someone ask me questions
Don’t make the mistake of equating time on the indoor trainer as the same as outdoor training. I really think that for a ride of 45 to 1 hr on the trainer are equivalent to about 2 hrs outside. And has been said by other,s it is because there is less concern about road hazards, traffic, etc. Which allows you to really focus on your effort. And yes it is boring, if you are doing it without apps such as Flywheel, Peloton, Zwift, etc. But if you have those apps it will save you both time and money and keep the boredom at bay for a time at least. Nonetheless, if you have time on your hands, it is absolutely essential to connect with real people outside. Just sayin’
I’am not sure why? however, it seems to be harder for me to train in rather than outdoors even with the video trainers. Watching a vid is not like being out in the sun and weather. dogs chashing and the wind blowing ect
What about the weight of your bike? That factor is gone No headwinds.
I hate turbo trainers i have to make myself as comfortable as possible i put the tv on watch utube and have a table next to me with snacks and drinks there is no rest on a turbo trainer that is why you fatigue quickly when i ride alot on the turbo indoors i find im smashing K.om and taking Pb when on the road.
I like to call a friend and do a long talk while i’m training, i just forget about time:)
Very excited to try this workout!! Thank you so much for this! I learned alot about cycling a few years ago when I got my road bike from your channel! ❤
Really great I’m 15 and I really enjoyed this for my sports training
i am obsessed with every single thing about this video. the actionable tips. your easy confident attitude. the positive undertones throughout. stephanie’s cameo. thank you SO much for this video
How many calories i will burn during this 20 minutes workout. I know there is no exact answer, but about.
“How you look is a 100% the least interesting thing about you” is such a simple statement but yet, it made such a difference for me to hear that.
This video was definitely a breakthrough for my self esteem and my relationship with my body. I’ve watched when it came out and I come back to it every now and then.
I’ve lost 16 Kg, gained a lot of muscle and even if I want to improve, I’m not stuck on that mentality of “I’ll like my body when I get to that weight” anymore. I love my body how it is now, and because I love it, I know that I can still improve it, get stronger, get healthier
Just discovered GCN and done the 30 min hiit, fitter than I thought, will be trying the others, thanks for making these available!
I often watch TV while riding the trainer and use the commercial sections to do intervals. Makes the commercials bearable.
Yayeee Montreal is in the place. I’ll def follow you on IG as well
Does anyone of a fluid or mag trainer that will accommodate a 24 inch tire?
I love riding indoor, no rain or cars trying to kill me. And I dont have to stop, never get a flat tire on the hometrainer and I can always go get a cold cola:)
On the weekdays, I’m far more likely to get STARTED indoors and get in a solid hour before and/or after work than if I had to rely solely on going outdoors. Darkness, traffic, and errands seem to make consistent work-week rides way too easy to skip. I do prefer to get the longer rides outdoors, as I find I can ride much longer in motion without my saddle feeling like I’m sitting on a pair of dull meat cleavers.
Hi, in your opinion,Do Turbo Training keep the training in Winter? For 3-4 months?
I would say because of the said difficulties of using an indoor trainer, it will in-fact improve your fitness for when riding outside.
THE GREAT BODY IMAGE CHALLENGE with Marc David
When it comes to body image, how do you see yourself? And more importantly, how do you talk to yourself about how you think you look? Do you compare your body to bodies you see on TV or in magazines? Do you feel you could be happy if only you looked different? For so many people, body image is an ongoing source of pain, but it doesn’t have to be that way. If you’re ready to take on “The Great Body Image Challenge,” please join Marc David, founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, as he tells it like it is in this fresh video from #IPEtv. He’ll explain where those persistently negative thoughts come from, who benefits when we’re stuck in a cycle of self-criticism, and what you can do to break free of the body image prison for good. Tune in now-we think this video will be an eye-opener! In the comments below, please let us know: Can you remember the first time you had a negative thought about the way you look? We love hearing your thoughts!
Don’t they say 1 hour on the trainer is equal to 1.5 hours on the road? That being said, it’s pretty impressive that Iron Cowboy did few of the races indoors due to weather.
I’m doing a lot of exercise in my garage over the winter. Exercising down at 5 degrees or soit feels too cold to use a fan. I’m soaked through because of the exertion and probably need one but basically feeling windchill at that point. It’s a meter in front of me and slightly off to the side. Not sure if I’m missing a trick…
Thank you so much for this video! I lost 30 lbs and 4 pants sizes in the past year and my boyfriend’s family shamed me for it Thursday I don’t understand why. I felt horrible and your video helped so much! Thank you!
This video is awesome and girl I think your body looks freakin great! I tried to do 30 days straight on my peloton and made it 5 days that was last week…..so maybe I can start over this week. Today is day 3 hahaha.
I love spin soooo much. It’s such a great and fun workout.
I use to spin 5 days a week and meal prep before I had my babies and was in the best shape of my life. My youngest is 21 months so trying to get my act back together.
I was interested to start and searched for their exercise bikes:) they cost 3500 $ unlucky
Can you add some more power building sessions on gone training please????
One more way is to tough it up and go ride outdoors at the cold…
Very important topic! My trainer is also about mindset and gratitude. So important!
I´m jealous of your aero position Mark. Like really jealous.
I’m using this as my exercise. My mom chose this for me. And I’m learning little by little.
You’re my absolute fave ❤❤❤ thank you for always being so positive and inclusive. I’m from South Africa btw and fitness influencers here should watch this.
Hey folks! I’m a french Triathlete and until today cycling has always been my weakness. I wanna thank GCN for helping me surviving the COVID Pandemic during 2 months, and also improving my cycling efficiency! I hope someday you’re gonna make videos with french landscapes, I have just followed videos with spain and italian countries until now. If you wanna come discover mountains from my place, Alsace and the Vosges, let me know, I would be glad to welcome and accomodate you! There are fantastic steep roads with gorgeous views here! Cheers!
Looking good might get people attention, but it don’t keep it.
You are amazing! I feel like I don’t fit in with the fitness industry and you are making room for us to make a change! Thank you for taking the time and effort to do this.
In the sport since 1985, when my mentor and friend was hit and killed 3 weeks before he was to at IMNZ, then I would ride more indoors, a second friend was hit and killed in 2010 and then I would learn to enjoy riding indoors on a 1987 Cateye CS-1000 trainer, with my 1986 Dave Scott Centurion on it. Now with Ironman Now on FB I watch races, videos, and this yr did 100 miles x8 in 45 days. My outside riding is on bike trails or state park. My HR is lower by 20 beats, cadence is lower by 10 RPMS. Rode 20 outside it felt like 10 miles mentally. So everyone stick with it.
this comment won’t get comment of the week but the canyon bike is sick still
absolutely brilliant anyone know how i can turn my cheap spin bike into one i can use with apps like zwift please?
omg love this video!!! I’m a spin instructor and trying to film stuff like this, so you gave me a great concept/idea! thank you:)
I’m crying watching this video gives me hope because i have depression right now 180lbs and i want to get fit
This is an amazing topic! I love the way you guys approached this video, and of course the fact that 2 of my favorite youtubers were in the same video!! Steph & Meg, you guys are awesome!
I got discouraged from running so much. I wanted to look into a new routine. I tried this video at the beginning of this month and now I’m hooked on cycling ♀️. I feel good and losing weight.
I love you! I’m starting to build muscle so it means eating way more than before! It scares the shit out of me but having people like you to watch and help motivate really helps with my mindset.
Hello from Sydney. Pre challenge body is sensational. Keep up the good work. Good inspo video.
It’s amazing how fast the 20 minutes go by compared to just watching the clock for 20 minutes doing it on your own ☺
Loved this James! “Spin those legs off” forgot how good this one was! A great start to my day!
Great video a topic I have struggled with all my life. For me exercising from a mindset of self care, to get my body as strong and healthy as possible so I have a good fitness level that will allow me to be as active and independent as possible for as long as possible as I get older has made a massive difference to my motivation level. When I was exercising just to try look a certain way it felt like a chore & I resented it.
I’m curious on knowing how anyone records their indoor training with just a hrm, and a garmin? Can you add it to strava or some other place?
I found that when I started training indoors on my rollers that watching an action movie with lots of movement was not good. I ended up all over the rollers and almost on the floor a few times. Especially during a car chase scene.
i uploaded some gcn’ indoor training sessions and plug it on my tv screen.. set up my bike on the trainer, put on my hr monitor and.. voila!!
Never had any problems indoor training, even did my best 20min power ever on zwift.. Absolutely love it, no reason to stop/brake pedalling due to traffic or other.. (i never like to stop pedalling anyway xD)
I guess that the other people on zwift also add to my enthusiasm, always someone to try and overtake
The timetrial position on the indoor did feel harder as i was not catching as much cooling wind from the ventilator/fans
I really appreciate this video <3 Thanks Meg, for being awesome!
Can i do this training in the morning and the 30 mins in the evening or it will be harmful
Anyone watching people workout instead of working out themselves?
I’ve loved you since I first came across you but I really love the message in this video ❤
this is an incredible video thank you so much for putting it together! please do more videos like this, it really helps
OKAY so, I’ve been struggling with my body image since I birthed my son over 17 years ago. I used to eat 900 to a max of 1200 calories, and ran until I felt ILL AF. I stumbled on @megsquats, SBD and now I’m HOOKED. I made an appointment with a Powerlifter trainer to make sure I was doing lifts correctly and I also spoke to a nutritionist to figure out how many calories I SHOULD be consuming and NEWSFLASH I wasn’t eating enough. Today it’s about 4 months on SBD, 4 weeks about increasing my intake and always working on my self esteem and body image. Thank you sooo much Meg for doing what you do and exposing people to your program and a healthier, happier lifestyle. It’s great to see you sharing your knowledge in strength building, nutrition and now emotional/mental aspects of changing your lifestyle for the better! LOVE YOU! <3
This session!! Back it up with the 30 minute session straight after! Woooooo
Living in Calgary means that I’m riding indoors more than out. I ride a tt bike and have figured out how to play video games while riding. It makes the time go by fast and I have also created interval plans depending on which game I am playing while I ride
Thank you for this video. I love it so much, that I listened to it twice. Very well articulated advice about self-image. Journaling is something that has always interested me, but I have not been consistent. The five-minute journal idea is great, and I am starting that today! I also loved the point about how our speech affects the way we think about ourselves.
You are doing great work and helping so many people. Always remember that!!!
I like to watch a sports match and incorporate the action on the field with my action on the trainer. If I am watching a soccer match, for instance, I will require myself to turn over a different gear depending on which team has control. A corner kick for the other team may cost me a 1 minute interval and a goal 3 minutes of suffering, for example. American football can be incorporated by using a different effort depending on the down.
I do most of intense workouts indoor now and try to do endurance outside. I’ve arrived at a point I just don’t feel comfortable putting in max power blocks outside and having to evade slower cyclists. But the effect during races when I can actually put down the power outside, is that I feel like a bat out of hell:-D
Amazing video Meg! This new content is smashing and this was absolutely the cherry on top so far!
Genetically the “ideal” is health and fertility. In the past, the greatest threat to humans was starvation, that is why fattened rotund women were the most desired. The script has flipped, in modern age the greatest threat to modern civilization is obesity. So we see people with low bodyfat as “healthy”. Smooth unblemished skin, flushed lips, strong shiny hair all indicate a positive health status, on women full hips and breasts indicate positive fertility status. A modern man’s ideal woman has: low bodyfat, full tits, hips and lips, strong shiny hair and unblemished skin.
Thank you so much for making this video, Meg! I feel I’ve recently been stuck in a negative rut after trying to get better within powerlifting and feel like I’m doing my best but getting nowhere. I know this isn’t true as powerlifting on any level takes time and dedication from anyone, of course. Your video here helped me with your tips, especially for self care. Two years ago I kept a gratitude journal/box where I’d write something I was grateful for/loved about myself every single day and I felt so much better when I started or ended my day that way. Your video was a great reminder it’s probably time for me to get back into that and stop being so hard on myself. I got a little teary-eyed at the end. Thank you so much again! xx
No se puede trasmitir en castellano soy de Argentina. Gracias.
Did u have a special diet whilst doing it or did u eat anything
I absolutely adore your body! So muscular and strong! It’s amazing. Your content is always so valuable, this video is great!
Hello,
What do you exactly mean when you state ”attracts relationships that wound”? Can you give an example?
Thank you
I’m late lol but girl your body looks great! Hope you’re keeping it up
I loved the workout. Trying to get fit in quarantine. What was the percent of resistance did you guys use?
I HAVE HAD A COURSE IN MODELING/PHOTO, ALL THE IMAGES IN THE MAGAZINE ARE MODIFIED TO TRICK YOUR BRAIN TO ACHIEVE A PHYSIQUE IT LL NEVER…believe me, i have tested it, and it s more deep then you think:)
So ironic that the advertisement before this video was for an app called “body app” in which you can photoshop your body to look NOTHING like your real body. Ughhhh
I like these new video formats, Megan. It’s cool to see you trying new things and being more creative.
Thanks for the video, it’s great. I’m a 43 year old dad of a five year old girl, I’ve been training in martial arts for a long time and recently started in Muay Thai and BJJ. I’ve realised in my experience how body image plays a huge part in how you’re measured and how knowing that limits my confidence in performance. I have skinny legs but they’re very durable when it comes to kicking, however I’ve been trying to gain size purely for aesthetics and it works against me as it slows me down in sparring. I aim to break past the limitations I put on myself due to body image, if not for anything other than to instil the same level of confidence in my daughter as she grows up. Great video! Ps this might sound strange coming from a man but it’s worth noting that it exists not just in women.
Hey, me again. lol. So happy I found your Channel. I did pilates every day at 6am when I was at my soul crushing job. What video editor do you use for your videos?
My reason is silly: It’s because I can just stop at any time. If I’m 50mi out on a ride, I don’t really have much choice in getting home. If I’m halfway through my trainer workout, those thoughts of laziness start creeping in. The mental game is very real.
Girl you’re body is amazing before & after so don’t be insecure! You are legit goals lol.
I’m from Argentina..
Great exercise for my morning.. love you guys.. you are awesome!!!
Your new Canyon tri bike is so much better looking than your old Cervelo!
I’m getting my Master’s in a field that deals with mental health and this video is so needed!!!! I also love that you encourage people to ask questions and think critically about images they see. I do feel that critical thinking is something we’ve lost. I love your strong strong friends program!!! (Looking forward to deload week lololol)
What really helps me not beat down on myself is looking at how capable my body is and realizing how much stronger I am than a few months ago. I love this vid though <3
I loved how other fitness YouTubers participated on the video, sharing also their views on body image. It was a breeze of fresh air seeing a guy sharing his views on this topic about himself. Body image issues are usually only thought to be about women.
I wish Calissa King had provided some practical examples about what does it mean to make yourself uncomfortable for this topic.
When the cam pointed at the booty you said bigger and bigger
I’d love to take these classes, but my bike shows KMPH not RPMs. Is there a way to convert?
The shrieks at the end are how I know it’s almost over. Thanks for that.
I’ve been struggling so much with this topic lately so, seeing this while doing your programming is just so refreshing and fitting! Thank you so much!
LOVED this video! Watched the whole thing. I appreciate you brought in other opinions ontop of your own.
The quality content we needed!! Thank you for creating this, Meg!
I feel like I can see your heart love this and love you for taking time to make this video for everyone to relate to!
Love this workout. It’s quickly paced so thirty minutes just flies by and it works me hard which is just what I need! Love that there are no ads.
Thank you so much this is awesome, yay finally paving the way to the healthy path in the fitness industry <3
Following GCN cycling classes on YouTube as help me a lot to lose my weight. I go to the gym in day time and then I train with GCN on YouTube at night with my exercise bike at home.
If you watch a TV series whilst on the trainer, try setting tempo or resistence or speed for when certain characters appear or speak. It makes for a varied work out. Also, try spin classes.
I’m starting training for my first tri. Hopefully Blenheim, to be honest i dont trust cycling on roads unless its early and quiet. So will be training a lot on gym bikes, hopefully it will do the job.
I want to get into watching cycling as a sport regularly, but don’t know where to begin. ☹
Maybe we need a rear wheel with flywheel weight build it and then calibrate the trainer to that. this would mimic road feel and allow you to coast more.
While I’ve always worked out I’m new to spinning and I really enjoyed your class just now. I’m 63 and I must say I’m proud of my workout with you but I’m pretty sure my little short legs will never go as fast as yours. Thank you!
If I want to listen to some cycling-related music while biking, my choice is an album called Tour de France by Kraftwerk.
It’s alright for them they’ve got air con/fan ….great vid much better than trying to keep track of times myself and motivating!
Whoever dislikes this video is the most close minded programmed sheep ive ever witnessed.
For the hard effort are they increasing or decreasing the resistance??
#Torqueback Are all turbo trainers able to engage a small diameter wheel such as on a BMX or a kids bike (Perhaps 16″) Will you be doing a new review / roundup of indoor cycle trainers in the near future?
What kind of trainer was that? Looked rock solid. Great video.
Meg OMG I have closed captioning turned on and in the beginning when you said freaking fitness influencer, the caption said “fitness molester”!
I think this might be the best video to ask this:
What is the best indoor trainer if I would like to ride all over the world using google maps or similar setup?
I mean, what trainer should I buy if I want to create a trip down the coast in southern France on day one and through the Alps on day two and finish with a nice trip on some wast American plain…?
Is it true that only Tacx trainers can do that?
Ps. Thx for the best Cycling show on earth!
I use my friend’s idea of winding up a metronome and letting it run while I’m on the trainer so I have a point of reference for cadence. I tend to slow down as I progress otherwise.
Started spinning at SpincoMontreal in september and I am so happy I do that! Not only am i actually loosing weight but i am addicted to it and it keeps me healthier!!!
@ 16:05 hahaha working from home and this moment just made me laugh so loud it had everyone on my hangouts meeting questioning me. “i was wondering what that was” hahaha
When he says three efforts left, he means two more efforts, just a little mistake in an otherwise great session
i treat indoor training like hills! i just get on the bike and get over it!
I never feel the need to but this is just amazing thank you. Thank you so much.
Thank you, Meg. I’ve been following you for a while and can’t even begin to thank you for your content. ❤️❤️❤️
I surely can’t be the only one out there that likes silence while doing a session?
Record ur ride with a go pro and watch when ur on the turbo with the fan it make it feel more surreal
Try going gluten free! I don’t have celiac disease but it helps with bloat.
Written concepts are lacking in this video. It makes it hard to concentrate on the long winded dialogue.
Great work
I’m new just bought the kicker Core
How do I set up or what mode I put the core in? to make workout like that?
hi guys what sort of wheel is that use have on the back when using the trainer
great work out minus the guy who kept talking in between… very annoying
Any one know where we can find those GCN training videos they showed at the end????
That was great. Just bought a stationary bike during covid 19 and this video was great. Thank you
Greetings from Las Vegas, NV
The bouncing asian chick, please someone someone put some glue on that saddle.
Omg… youre sooo hot.. dont be shy to show your body… you look amazing
You know if the camera cuts you off you can record another segment, then then edit it together with the magic of video editing….
Please give some ways to make training on the Rollers more fun!
They are all making a big mistake. They breathe through the mouth instead of nose. Read some publications from Buteyko or Patrick McKeown.
Good morning from the Philippines! Great workout to start the day. Thank you so much!
I use a playlist with tracks that are between 85 and 100rpm when on the turbo
It’s very good for natural cadence to ride in time with music and it helps ensure you don’t back off
Hello, Im looking for a back pack that is lightweight and slings cross body instead of traditional for riding
make more turbo training session instead of stationary bike training please…
do you guys have videos on cycling motivation?? im currently at a point where i have lost the passion to ride, my moral is at the very low… it seems that ive completely lost it…
I was struggling a bit on my fitness journey and this really helpedthank you!
Train on Rollers
Riding on a Turbo Trainer or a Spinner gets boring and you turn in to a zombie.
Riding on Rollers keeps you focused on your technique and makes session less monotonous.
TrainerRoad running on a PC and an ANT+ variable resistance trainer is the win.
The dislikes are people who went 4 effort during the hard portion and then expected results after 30 minutes
I actually switched programs from Stephanie’s to Stronger by the Day. Id done hers for a while and was looking to switch it up, but the reason i thought to try SBD ( which has changed my entire life and body) in the first place was because you actually post technique and skill videos and not just these ones… which makes these ones more valuable to me. I’m not going to lie, I love what Steph’s doing but its so personal that its now become 100% of her content when I so badly loved her workout vids. At least we still have Jeff.
It’s so hard to find smart female ‘influencers’ who lift well enough and have the extensive knowledge to coach AND post consistent vids.
Video appreciated.. i didnt realize people were still looking at IG and comparing themselves, and hope they find a way to move forward so we can get back to talking about lifting bro.
hey GCN, can you please make a “how to” about track bike/track cycling. i hope you guys read my comment thx:))
set up bike
pedal for an hour
get off the bike
I don’t use a fan, I just pedal.
rule #5
To be honest I just find riding indoors depressing, much happier outdoors
Is it possible to do this training on a normal bike and a roller?
Advice please, just spunked a load of cash on some flash parabolic rollers. Now I like the idea that this is going to take my mind off being bored (by trying to keep on the thing and not end up mangled on the kitchen floor). But what’s more effective, turbo or rollers
4 Types of Exercise Seeing a Global Surge, see here https://www.strengthyogi.com/4-types-of-exercise-seeing-a-global-surge-and-why/
Loved this thank you, will continue to do once or twice a week
Medical student here…. I study ever second that i train. I project my notes on the wall.
I have a Fat Bike now. Indoor training will be a last, last, last resort. Would take another polar vortex to make that happen…
Do you think she takes care of her feet? Like she’s supposed to? If not, no husband.
Will ye do a video on Zwift? I know that ye were hosting the event for them, so maybe ye didn’t get much footage.
I watch movies for long periods in the saddle, selected based on how long i want to go for (e.g. a long session is the lord of the rings extended edition or kingdom of heaven.). These are just for sitting and riding without intervals.
If i want to do intervals tv shows are great. I recently did how i met your mother and used the ad break blackouts to start and finish intervals, 4-6 episodes at a time.
Hope this helps anyone:)
is there a big risk you can break your frame from using a indoor trainer?
First of all: good on you for working out every day.
But, there’s just some thing that are not right. Dairy isn’t unhealthy.
You wont magically get abs by not using them. Spinning does obvs focus on legs. Also, your body doesn’t loose bodyfat in one spot.
Thanks guys. Actually worked hard for a change, seeing what 30 mins on the bike should be like.
what is that turbo trainer called.. my one goes straight on the tyre which wares it away.
How many miles avg do you all do in these 20 min just wonderin’
My tip is to watch Paris-Roubaix and do an effort when they reach the cobbles… when they get off have a relax. I think it only works with the highlights though…
