Hi, I just found your channel,
I’m thinking of the keto diet, I have fibromyalgia and I’m having a hard time getting weight of as exercise is very painful.
I’m allergic to dairy and gluten can I still do the diet
1 I love this video
2 I love your jacket
3 I want you to have a hair tie on your braid cause it’s tripping me out lol
4 I love your channel
It’s adorable how in love they look… What a fantastic video!
So, I’ve been following you two for a little over a month now. I decided to try the one big salad for lunch daily and no sweets, bread or pasta to see if I could shed a few pounds. I cannot believe that all the intense muscle aches that I had been experiencing for the past 15 years were gone and my mood lifted. I have maybe lost 2 pounds but more importantly, I’m so much more comfortable. I had no idea that the muscles aches were related to wheat products. I have to say, you guys really know what you’re talking about and I’m truly grateful to have stumbled across your videos!
I also went off Keto because I needed more variety. I decided to go back on it to lose a little more weight and then I will be trying to up the carbs a little and add some berries and veggies. Your vids are so helpful!
Ive always been obsessed with milk chocolate and giving that up was the hardest… i switched to dark chocolate and every time i reach for that animal product i think about the cow who was inseminated, whos baby was taken and was then milked, which is a disgusting and cruel prossess. All it tales for me is to not forget what is actually happening in this world ❤️ but again i still slipped some times and thats ok, as long as we are doing our best and are awear of reality
Great review of keto diet. Would be great if Keith can wear a microphone because everytime Keith speaks, it is very soft. I noticed that he is not wearing a microphone, probably that is why I have to keep adjusting the volume.
Which video is it that Dr Keith mentions the snoring? And the benefits of keto for taking away inflammation and you stopped snoring????
No wonder he dont like this diet….can drink beer something beerbiceps wont promote
thank you guys today is day 3 for me on keto last year I did keto for 3 and 1/2 month’s and droped about 38 pounds and had very good results
Is it possible to reach ketosis when you are a diabetic type two?
Dr. Becky, could you do a post on how you stay slim…what you eat (and avoid) and if you have an exercise routine?
I don’t bother to measure Ketones. All I can do is the best I can do. I quit the carbs, so if one day I am out of ketosis it is not the end of the world. My weigh scale gives me a monthly average.
You are such a shining light, Sam. I’ve truly felt better and been able to improve my mood just through watching your videos. Thank you thank you ❤️
Girl I just adore you! I feel like I can really relate to your journey so thank you for sharing your experience.
I am very pleased so far being on keto diet and am finally losing weight…I just saw someone post s video about it being bad for kidneys and liver. Is that true?I hope it’s not. I still have about 40 pounds to go and I’m so happy that I found something that’s working.
Thanks folks! I have been on a keto diet for four months and lost #48. I have never tested my ketones but believe I am in ketosis based on the results I am having. Just a vote for possibly not testing.
your wife says you drank 2 cups of bullterproof coffee a day, did one replace breakfast and the other lunch??
Only cons for me is confusing. I have low iron despite high iron diet and iron supplement, and hair loss is happening. Don’t understand what’s going on, but weight loss is such a blessing.
Hi Sam! What camera and lens do you use when making your videos? They always look so professional!
Would you say that keto is better for men than women? I’m going to be 50 this year and the women in my family have a history of diabetes in old age. I am probably 50 lbs over weight and have not had success on calorie counting alone and tend to eat more carbs and never feel satisfied. I’ve started eating keto for the last 3-4 weeks slowly reducing my sugar and monitoring my calories. Some other issues I’ve had is snoring and having issues sleeping. I’m hopeful for good results on keto but I haven’t eaten this much fat or meat in diet in the past and I’m concerned about if this will cause my cholesterol to go up. Again do you have any info of female success on keto?
Regarding Keto, I hear people saying they have better mental clarity when their body is fueled by Ketones. Did you experience that Dr. Keith? Also, how about early fatigue when working out?
Hey Dr. Becky, I have a few questions, however, first I’d like to say that Dr. Keith looks absolutely smashing. When I think back to when he started, to now, the change is extraordinary! Even in the way he holds himself, his countenance has improved amazingly! You look so proud of him…..I can see it in your eyes. Anyway, I’m a 52 year old, Type I diabetic with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue, with the added insults of Celiacs and Lactose intolerance. I was wondering if the Ketogenic lifestyle would suit me. I have consulted my G.P. And my Endo and both were adamant that Ketones were a bad idea (I can’t help but think they were thinking about Ketoacidosis rather than Ketosis) and I should avoid “Fad Diets”. Perhaps we’re more than a little bit behind in Australia! Lol….I was really wanting to try the Keto diet as I believe (through extensive research) it would actually be extremely beneficial. I’m very insulin sensitive and use small amounts of artificial insulin; 16 u of Lantus (basal) daily and 2 7 u of Novorapid (bolis) when I eat. Anyway, your opinion would be very much appreciated as I feel I need to lose about 12 kgs and ease the pain of the Fibromyalgia.
Dr. Becky & Dr. Keith, what do we do when we reach our goal weight to maintain this new level of health we’ve found. Do we go paleo? I’m so afraid that the pain will come back… I don’t mind a couple pounds weight fluctuation, but I live in fear of the pain and depression sneaking back in to my life… I’ve made the journey to 5lbs from my goal, and NOW I’m afraid. Am I alone in this???
Keto is a life changer and game changer for me. I struggle with thyroid Hashimotos and I’m 3 months in on keto. I feel amazing and I’ve lost 23.6 lbs. I do eat berries in moderation. My inflammation and swelling is gone. Thanks for the great videos! I don’t watch calories i just watch carbs and eat when hungry which now my appetite is severely decreased! For me there are zero cons i only wish I’d started sooner! ❤
Thank you for this very informative video. Are they any long term health risks being in keto for long periods? Thanks.
Great vid,,,,,I drink lemon juice each morning and have one cheat meal per week,,,,,28 weeks in and I thoroughly enjoy it,,,,,your vid’s are highly motivational,,,,,,have a great day,,,,
I loved this video sooo much!! Totally agree about the spiritual side of veganism, which I think is often overlooked! We truly ARE all one and the less suffering exists in this world, the better!
I dont agree with u. This diet helped me a lot especially when I lost all the Hope’s…today I m perfect and lost all my extra pounds…I continued this diet and still I m following it with little changes. I lost 23 kg and still perfectly ok. I will recommend this diet to obese people like me…yes I was obese n this diet helped me look perfect…
So if ppl need so much protein then the strongest animal OX, Should be eating only protein right?? All ppl giving gyan on social media
Thanks brother! I’m subscribed, liking and commenting. I’m gonna sprout mung beans and maybe broccoli sprouts. Nuts and raw fruits and vegetables smoothies only. I’m gonna drink all my meals lol. I’ll keep you updated. Maybe you have a raw vegan meal plan for beginners?
To lose weight Like A beast eat lots of fruits and vegetables and lots of red meat eggs and seafood avoid carbs and veg oils. Animal fats are actually good for you like egg yolks and beef or bird fat. This diet was adopted by Mongols African warriors Greeks and roman’s. They were always muscular and lean
If you had done any research on this diet… You would have found out that it was NOT developed by GM and it’s a myth.
So your credibility is in drains now for me.
With no disrespect the GM diet is a sort of modified intermittent fasting and if followed does not cause harm and does help you to lose weight especially for women that are post menopause. If you do the diet one week on and one week off (eating healthy I recommend following weight watchers points) you can also once completed you can do it again to lose pounds if they start to creep up. I look at the guy in this video is probably not 30 years old. All diets work when you are young.. but as you get older and your hormones change.. its not the case believe me. And lastly what he says about the minute you stop you will gain weight that is not true.. If you eat like a pig sure.. but that is always true. Keto is a disgusting diet.
bhai unlike krne ki schra tha title dkk k.. guru mann diet lga.. n srry
This is not General Motor Diet..this is Genetically Modified diet
Bunch of bullshit, i have done GM Diet and it is the only one which ever worked for me.
i lost 4 kgs in 7 days and further 3 kgs in the following 2 months.
i felt very healthy, my skin was glowing and i didn’t gain even a single kg back.
Like radio killed the radio star…. GM diet killed ur business.
Like if it’s true
I don’t agree with u. This diet is good for those who want to see an inch loss along with weightloss n that too quickly. I tried and it worked like further motivation after losing 7 kgs in a week. Sorry I will b rude but stop moving like a spring giving horrible expressions n don’t stress on words just to prove ur importance…its irritating
Nonsense u do keto diet which s also an worst one.. I tried this diet it s amazing and m still healthy..
What if you add egg whites in the diet..just to ensure no muscle loss..
Please please guys dont do gm diet its a warning becoz i have done dis for 5 days and lost 3 kgs after 28 days may be Not exactly i have started loosing my hair tons and tons of my hair…..i jus doesnt know and i got knee pain am 26 years old but doctor told me dat i have lost calcium in body so iam loosing my hair and pains please please dont do dis try to do intermittent fasting eat twice in a day…..i suffered so am letting people know
I came to 87kgs from 97kgs by doing GM diet for 12days n that too be not following it religiously.
I hope that one day I am ready to take the step to become vegetarian or vegan. Over the years I have slowly been changing my diet for the better by cutting out processed foods and buying fresh local, organic foods, less dairy, only meat once or twice a week and when I do eat meat to buy from local farmers. I still have my times where I will go out to eat and know its not the best option but I see how far I have come and try every day to make it better and better.
You are right sir may nay be KIA ta mujay bhuuut kamzoreee huwe te
Stop fooling people. Your knowledge is so incomplete. This is so shitty!
Rule 1: too many old things are still valid
Rule 2: scientists say war healthy food. Do we actually eat healthy foods. You think what you eat is actually healthy
Rule 3: every diet limits our food. Every type of diet in the world is about limiting fats, sugars but only all diet lets you eat unlimited food quality
Rule 3: Asshole! Day 2/3/4/5/6 salt is more thn one tea spoon. Idiot.
Rule 4: you never starve, jerk. You keep eating entire day
Rule 5: Do any gym or die in this entire world and it will limit the salt, certain food, sugar. Yes if you want to be healthy. But after gym or healthy diet: you have to maintain a healthy lifestyle or yes it will be bavk.
Don’t make videos, jerk so the sake of fake publicity. Moron!
What kind of science tell you that body burns muscles and fats at the same rate?
Here is how it works..first you use the glycogen stores, then the excessive fats in the adipose tissue and some free proteins(not part of muscle)..you use your muscles in extreme starvation which doesn’t occur in case of gm diet..and about the salt which he talked about, one can easily get gm of salt from eating just fruits and vegies with a lil sprinkle of table salt on it(the fruits and veggies hold water through salt)..and if even if it’s about 2 gm for 7 days, body won’t lose all its water..because the main store for salt is in ecf(extracellular fluid) and it doesn’t get all dried up just because your intake reduced from 3 gm to 2gm or even 1 gm..specially if you’re an Asian..I m a medical student..

Review about gm diet???
I once followed it and started gaining more weight
Do not follow at all even. If You are in a hurry to loose 1 kg of weight
Hey i lost 24 kgs in 6 months with diet only.
Now my weight is got stuck @114kgs from last 2 months.
I hv started doing some Cardio from last one week only.
Any advise.
I have nothing to do with GM diet i just came here to fight.. dislike thinking its guru mann diet. Ab video nahin dekhna mujhe kyunki mujhe yeh follow hi nahin karna hai.
abe chutiye toh gym ko gayejaisa bhi nhi dhekta phir y u tlk about fitness bey
This guy’s an idiot for the simple fact that this diet is ONLY meant to kick start a healthier diet afterward, and is only supposed to be temporary. Obviously because staying on this diet forever would be REALLY bad for you. By losing that initial weight and limiting your food intake severely for only a week, it gives you confidence and makes taking on a better diet afterward easier.
Well, I assumed that GM meant Guru Mann and was expecting rage comments tbh. XD
Gm diet me 2,day me sweet corn kha sakte Hain Kya plz plz plz Hindi me rply dijiye
The room with the animals gave me goosebumps and tears. Best decision ever:)
Its a choice one needs to make between.. A,, Go for the gm diet or any other kind of diet and get your weight sorted irrelevant of the temporary nutrient deficiency, health etc etc and find a way then to maintain the weight.. Or. B. Remain fat overweight n do no diets at all coz of being scared of all the nutrient deficiencies etc.. The potential of being even a few kg overweight is way more dangerous then the risk of a diet n its nutrient deficiency
Muje laga ki guru Mann ji ki bat krega…….but…… Tu Bach gya……guru Mann bhagvan hai……..nice video.
Aur sari baat tumhari achi hai but amir khan k transformation me jo steroid ki baat ki vo betuki thi tumhari
I have lost 114 to 108 first time and 2 time 108 to 106kg.. its work
I’m sorry but when you lose weight no matter what you do you’re going to lose all of those three types of weight. Some of the “science” isn’t even right so have fun
Sorry man, you can’t just diss the diet just because it’s 30 something years old. (What about religions:-) a little more than 30 y old). In regards to protein, there are other philosophies like max 10% of protein (like the concept 80/10/10). Think of the little infant that grows the MOST in it’s first year. The protein intake is only coming from breast milk that contains only…… 2% protein. “Food for thought”!
Bhai tu apni body tho maintain kr le……
khud tho yeh pta nhi kya khaa pee k mota sa ho raha h…
issh se ache tho gali k local ladke hote h Jo…… body bna k tho rakhte h…
yeh tho Varun Dhawan jese body sab ki bna de… bco… sab ki body type alag hota h koi isshe btaye bcooo……. sab ko varun dhawan bna de yeh……

Hindustan main kuch bhi hota hai
he got more views just having GM on thumb nail… at the right time.. when he was launching GM whey
One suggestion.. stop making video about Gym, workout, diet etc… and pls dont call yourself a bodybuilding professional. Thanks.

I have been used GM diet for 4 consecutive months and reduced my body weight up to 30 Kg. but I lost my muscles.
after I walked to the gym I was able to get some weight off and get the muscles back. If you go to the gym after this diet, you will do well. otherwise, Your old body weight will be doubled again.
‘Lets science the s.. t out of it’ is unappetizing. I love all ur videos but bro is this really a sentence to use while talking about food and health.? Cant u stick with what goes in the stomach and not what comes out? Im a viewer from South Africa, ur hip and cool but wow! i wont be able to educate my kids here because of the horrible language used in ur intro. Eesh man! ‘LETZ SCIENCE THE fat OUT OF IT’
GM diet is a weight loss management plan developed by the General Motors Corporation to help keep their employees stay in shape. This diet system involves the consumption of specific foods per day, in contrast to weekly schedules like that of Atkins and South Beach diets. so that is not guru maan, bro who thing about that.

Even lettuce have protein in it… there is no calorie restriction in this diet as you said so if you wanna meet your protein intake you can ☺️
I followed this diet and lost lots of weight before my wedding years ago. I also felt fantastic and my skin looked amazing. Science or no science. I looked fantastic!:-)
Great video! I giving up coffee now. Mby later I could try Raw vegan. I’am vegan 5 years, but my digestion after 2 last year coffee drinking is real shit!:(
Do you have a guide for getting started on a raw diet? (I’m not on Instagram).
if I may, how do you guys mange meals together? Do you cook separate meals?
Oh come on!!!! Nowadays people do water fasting! This GM is much better than that! N it’s just for 7 days!
Great video Shane!
Of course there are way more Pros and Cons but you have definitely concluded them nicely.
As a Con, I would also add the poor high quality raw food availability which is often times in many places of the world not that good.
You only had like 700 subs back then and now you have more than 6000.
It’s amazing to see you growing and I know from the beginning that you will get really big.
Wow! So informative! Would you mind sharing how you make your paste for brushing your teeth. I’ve heard fluoride is horrible for your mind..that it hardens the frontal lobe.
I love green juices with fruit so much energy and lightness ❤
Better digestion and hydration is key for ur health. Really helps
Many convincing pros. Fruit always makes me feel better so I know what your saying. It makes sense. Congrats on 710 subs.
Excellent points Shane, I completely agree and I am going through detox right now, but I was mostly raw before I went 100% anyways, so it is not too terribly bad.
I have also upped my dental hygiene game, for the same reasons, and also purchased a water pick when I was first testing out raw veganism last summer.
You hit the nail on the head with emotional clarity. I’ve seen it in droves, to feel in control of my emotions and my lifestyle. I’ve never been an overly emotional person, but there would still be times stress would consume me, and I’ve seen a huge shift in that arena. It is just as you said, I feel like I have full control of myself now. It’s strange, I don’t think that is something I noticed about myself until I gained control, just how ruled I was before. The contrast is striking.
I’ve felt the same in the social arena, but I’ve handled it a bit differently.
I’ve found myself going through a huge clearing since I returned from Ireland. I stayed in an earthship and my hosts were 100% raw vegan so I ate like they did and had my first green juice and the experience has marked my life immensely. I returned with a strength that makes my military experience feel like childs play.
When I returned, I felt everything about my old life was in desperate need of changing. I actually cleared out my social circle of anyone who was not supportive of something that was good for me. I didn’t want that negative influence in my life. The raw diet freed me from the restraints of social reliance for emotional support. I turn to myself and my supportive friends instead.
A bonus on my end is mental clarity. My ability to push through harder workouts, tell people no, get stuff done, stick to my schedule, and most of all, be more self aware, which has enhansed my journaling and self expression.
Sorry for the lengthy words of a bibliophile, just had to share my story with you, as I hope it gives others hope too. Thank you so much for being an inspiration to this lifestlyle and helping us all free ourselves from the restraints social conditioning has placed on us. Have a fantastic weekend Shane!
You forgot to mention one of the down sides to a raw vegan diet is that it is deficient in 15 important nutrients.
Awesome info. Thanks. I noticed you mentioned cashew’s. You do know they are not raw, right? I stopped eating them. They gave me gas anyway.:) I love activated pumpkin seeds mostly.
My interpretation is the group that was examined indeed were not following a low-fat diet. She said to qualify as a low-fat diet the American Heart Association deemed it must get less the 30% of their calories from fat. Since, this study group was not doing that, then you shouldn’t stress about the diet being low-fat. In fact, you can consume copious amounts of olive oil and follow the mediterranean diet and see extreme health benefits. I might be wrong but that was my interpretation.
First of all, the authentic mediterranean diet is not a low fat diet at all, they do some liberal amounts of olive oil which is the main fat they use, this woman does not know what she is talking about, and that is why people did not do well on the diet in this study group. If you go on the oldways website they have authentic mediterranean recipes, also the olive tomato website.
The fact that the low-fat group struggled to comply (even after intensive intervention) implies that the low-fat diet is difficult to follow. This, by itself, is a significant strike against the low-fat diet.
Good day! I’m Olivia.I did -35 lbs past one month.Visit hddiet.gs\#6gtm
I would love to go vegan, but it’s impossible where I live, so I consider myself a vegetarian and I’m trying to be as vegan as I can, if that makes sense. But I can‘t find any vegan options in restaurants or even at the groceries. I can manage being vegetarian but if I decide to go dairy free (because it actually makes me feel sick) I couldn’t go out anymore. I know a lot of people here who are vegetarian just because they can’t be vegan and it’s so frustrating. I live in Italy where cheese and eggs and meats are very common. Just saying that I feel very sad when people say vegetarians do nothing to help. Sometimes vegetarian is all people can be and it’s better than doing nothing.
So grateful to have stumbled upon your channel. Much love sista
Yeah I kinda went vegen bc of this video. Thank you for changing my life Sam
this is the video that made me become a vegetarian. the day i watched this i stopped eating meat and havent eaten any for 4 months! ive also been eating way less dairy and trying to be mostly vegan. i had been wanting to go vegan for a while but something in the way you explained it made something click in my head and i just couldnt let myself eat meat again. thank you so much for inspiring me.
Im vegetarian and would like to go vegan but I worry about vitamin and mineral deficiencies, do you need to buy supplements?
I’m basically having to be vegan because my body does reject most meats and alot of other things but also I’m having a hard time wanting to try new things or liking certain things how can I get myself to start to like certain veggies and how to get myself to try new things?? I’ve struggled with this for a long time and sadly my whole family eats meet and I have no one that I know of that is vegan so it’s hard to talk to someone about all of this. Loved to get some input from people❤
I have been plant based two years and I agree with everything you said! I love it but I do feel restricted eating out with people. But I love cooking and eating at home! I won’t go back now!
Hummus is a complete protein!!! Eat that stuff up. Also there’s things called complementary proteins (beans and rice, or peanut butter and whole grain bread for example).
Listening to all of this rings so true to Home! I’m a week in to being vegan and I know that’s not long but I’m so proud of myself already and know it’s for me! Chloe x
i really love this video! im not sure if i could handle going completely vegan, but being exposed to the lifestyle so much through youtube videos and the fact that i live in socal makes me really wanna switch to more and more vegan alternatives!
This really hit home to me I love dairy but it makes me so ill. Why am I doing it???! Time to quit! I have endometriosis so can’t have soya products but I’m definitely eating cleaner. I know I haven’t got the self discipline to go vegan and there’s No point lying to myself and trying just to fail. I can manage vegetarian a lot of the time and have been before. Lots to think about thanks Sam
Thanks for your honesty & integrity. Online so many people don’t give you the true pros & cons.
I’m proud of you for doing this! And I’m really glad because it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while. Keep making videos about veganism please!!
So beautifully said. One other point I think worth mentioning is your taste buds actually do change within 4 6 weeks of giving up meat. After 2 years of not eating meat I see it completely as a ” non food” now….. Completely disgusting. Also the feeling of Peace and positivity you mentioned Sam, I can completely relate! Was not expecting that at all truly life changing in the best ways possible. Last but not least. I had an autoimmune disease ( not curable, for 7 years ) less than a year after not eating meat my body healed itself both my doctors were shocked. I never ever thought for a second choosing not to eat meat would award me my health back. Lastly; everyone thinks of themselves as ” animal lovers”… I certainly did, but I would than eat them. Now my morals align with my actions and it’s the best feeling ever.
@sam I loved this video. And I think I want to start incorporating more vegan based meals into my diet. Also where is your jacket from ♥️
Thank you for making this video! It is so inspiring to hear both the pros and the cons!
Love the sweater/sweatshirt at the beginning of your video! What is it?

I’m still struggling with being vegan sometimes, mainly because of my in-laws and convenience, mainly when eating out…
The first part is the bigger one, since they make me feel bad a lot of the time. They always make it about them, although I never ask them to make any extra effort for me!
The second part has to do with my social life; eating out etc. I really love the taste of a lot of animal products still, and sometimes it’s hard to not have any cheese, because I used to love it and there is just no good sub.
But I think I’m doing good most of the time and instead of beating myself up whenever I fail, I’ll just try to be better next time.
And it’s becoming easier every day sometimes it seems like every time I turn around a new vegan thing has popped up:)
Just a couple of weeks ago a new ice cream shop opened where I live, and they carry five vegan flavours and even have vegan cones. And my university cafeteria now not only carries vegan sandwiches (which are delicious btw) but even vegan chocolate and muffins. Society is changing for the better.
Btw, when I tried vegan for the first time about 3 years ago, the vegan community kind of scared me off, because I felt they wouldn’t accept me if I couldn’t commit 100% right away…
I love your chatty videos. You’re so personable and just relatable. I’ve been slowly incorporating more vegan meals into my week and I have been loving some of your recipes. Have great weekend babe!!
I know this might be personal but have you noticed any weight gain because of your increased carb intake with the vegan diet? That’s my only fear of this diet because the best vegan protein options usually have high carb or soy content. Both cause bloat ☹️
I do have to say that at least when you asked about the veggie burgers, they were able to tell you about the cheese and were educated enough to know that it wasn’t vegan. Some people still get vegan and vegetarian confused and neglect to tell you about the cheeses in dishes
same thing happen to me with the whole cupcake thing… I was vegan and I loved it. But I got so tired of how ristricted I felt.. always going around to find vegan cookies and what not. sadly im not vegan anymore… but I still dont eat any animals. Im not sure if I miss beign vegan or not to be honest… I cant give up cheese anymore.
There’s a vegan bakery right beside by work and OH MY GOODNESS. Everything has been great but the cinnamon roll was absolutely delicious!!! I’m not full vegan yet but about 80%
You literally explained every point of pros and cons that I think too! Especially the cupcake and cookie thing lol I loved this keep it up!
I’m not sure why it bothers me when people say “vegan diet” it makes it sound so temporary. I guess if people are doing it to loose weight but I think “vegan lifestyle” should be used more.
I just figured Dr Becky didn’t change her diet, because in my opinion, she already looks amazing! Just sayin’
You actually get more protein as a vegan (a healthy one ofc) because 1. The animals get their protein from the plants, so it’s like a second source 2. It takes a lot of protein an energy to then break down the meat
Sam I love your videos they are so helpful on my Vegan journey…. I have been Vegan for 4 years now…. I wanted to say something that I have found very helpful on my Vegan journey. I am completely Vegan and I do let my family and friends know that I am Vegan. But there have been times at family get togethers and social settings where I know that something might have cheese in it or eggs baked in it. To be polite I never say anything to my family or friends I just eat it. I will try and look for whatever is Vegan there first and just eat that but if it means not being able to eat at all I will just try and find a Vegetarian option and eat that instead. The reason I do this is because not everyone is going to understand my lifestyle and I have to be okay with that. I have to be sensitive and polite to people especially when it comes to their cooking. I am always polite and tell them its okay that its not 100% Vegan and that the food taste so great! This way people aren’t turned off by the Vegan movement. And I have felt like its the polite thing todo. Also when going to peoples homes to eat you can always bring a Vegan dish.
I never believed in the Law of Attraction (I mean kinda but not really)… But I’ve been trying to change a lot of habits in my life and change my lifestyle for the better (before I start college) and I’ve slowly been implementing new things and lately I’ve been feeling more motivated… That’s exactly when I ended up stumbling upon your channel and have since subscribed and whenever I open YouTube I’m watching your videos. You’ve been helping me so much. Thank you ❤️.
✨✨To help you and any other vegans out while trying to dine at restaurants my husband and I are building a community over at MenuBerry.org its a place where vegans can add restaurants and comment on the meals they either created off the menu or ordered and loved. Great video sam!!
I loved this! Thank you for discussing the good and bad about being vegan! Being vegan is definitely not easy but I think the pros are so worth it! You are very right, a lot of health youtubers only talk about the pros so I’m happy to see you showing that being vegan isn’t always peaches and cream lol
I love this video. I stopped drinking milk for a long time which sometimes, it would make me throw up a little but I like it with egg to make scrambled eggs but I don’t like it with cereal. Sometimes, people can be saying that “does it taste dry for you” which makes me laugh at times. Even though you are vegan, can you please make a video of pros and cons you of being vegetarian?
Is the breathalyzer effective to check Ketones? I used to use that a few years ago.
3 minutes in and I agree with no. 1!
I feel like the vegan community is way too harsh. I support anyone who even cuts down on their consumption/use of animal products! That’s better than spreading this all or nothing message, where people give up because they feel like nothing is ‘vegan’ enough.
As a vegan, what do you feed your dogs? I want a dog one day but I know you can kill your dogs by making them vegan too because they aren’t humans, they’re animals too, and have different needs. I’m already struggling with this and I don’t even have a dog yet
Have you found a vegan cheese that you like? Or have you let cheese go all together?
I’m glad you’re sharing some cons because I feel like a lot of times when new vegans hit bumps in the road they think maybe veganism isn’t for them… sooo much more helpful to share our setbacks and how we pushed past them!
Can I ask how tall Dr Keith is and what weight he is looking for?
For the best knowledge a food combing chart can be downloaded and followed for the various category in which fruits and vegetables can be best used for good digestion and assimilation.
Great video! I really liked what Jarrod said and I think that it is something people don’t mention. ALSO in terms of social media people are SO rude! I haven’t inspired much hate in my personal life except for one family member and an ex-boyfriend but vegans on social media can be some of the most judgemental people ever. I belong to a Facebook group called Vegan for Her and someone posted a processed Trader Joe’s vegetarian (it is vegan) chili and someone commented “EW soy and processed I’ll pass that’s disgusting!” For busy people sometimes processed foods are the only option and how awesome is it that the grocery store makes vegan products. There were also comments saying how vegans should eat veg only because it’s in the name…. like wtf? Veganism does not mean healthy eating and it isn’t a term to describe someone who eats a ton of vegetables. It’s abstaining from animal products and animal cruelty! Sometimes people are just trolls! I do not have many vegan friends online except I do love the Vegan View community! They make a “talk-show” on YouTube about everything vegan and their Facebook group is pretty supportive and amazing (except for a few random trolly people). I also try very hard to support my friends in real life who go vegan! All the ones that have gone vegan say I inspired them to do it because of how happy I am so I totally 100% agree with you that you just feel more spiritual. You feel at peace like you are really helping animals and doing good. None of us are perfect so I don’t know why we can’t just support each other and try to be the best we can be!
Sorry, this was so long and ranty! I love you and your videos, Sam! XOXO
Thanks for the great video Sam! I feel like this was really honest and open been vegan for 4 years and loving it, but I agree there can be some challenges u have to overcome. One tip I have for saving money on groceries is to buy in bulk. I know, many people have heard it before and don’t want to because it’s inconvenient, because you have to soak the dried beans and grains and meal prep more. Me and my husband just tried buying all of our groceries in bulk a couple weeks ago, and we were amazed we saved like 100$. Less that what we would have paid of we bought single serving packages from a non bulk store. We do have to make our own almond milk which can be time consuming, but it really was way cheaper. Anyway, love ur videos, can’t wait for the next one ❤️
This made me feel so good knowing that i’ve saved 100 animals and i’ll save more it also made me feel more comfortable with being a junky vegan as a lot of my meals have soya ‘meat’ in them but i know i want to eat a lot more fruit and veg so im more confident in trying and not letting people make me feel like shit for what i eat.
Thank you Sam for giving me the confidence x
You lovely little beauty love you and everything you stand for xxx
I agree with you on restaurant option! It’s either a Sad salad, or a veggie burger and half the times the burger has eggs!
Love it! So glad you’ve gone plant based. You were one of the few nonvegan YouTubers I follow because of you’re positivity and loving spirit and focus on health. I’m glad that you tried (And sound like you’re mostly loving) this transition. Plus now I can use your videos for food inspiration as well as fitness and wellness inspo!
Also protein is a weird one!! Brian Turner (another youtuber) is very high protein so you could probs get some inspiration or ideas from his videos if you’re wanting to up protein. What I usually do when I need protein is do like a quinoa chickpea style one pot meal or I’ll make chilli or I’ll add a lot of nuts or seeds or nut butters to my salads. They’re a lot of fat too, but for me personally higher fat meals help me stay on track. But yeah, quinoa, beans, lentils, even lentil pasta, even oatmeal has protein, it all adds up!:)
I’ve been trying to convert to a vegetarian diet as a stepping stone towards becoming vegan. I live in a smaller town in the south where the general consensus is if your plate doesn’t have meat on it, it isn’t a real meal. I don’t really have any support from my family as they truly truly believe that not eating meat is unhealthy for meno matter how much science or research I throw at them. My husband has been trying to eat more vegetarian meals at home, but he doesn’t have any interest in going full vegetarian. It’s so hard to make these changes without any support in my life and if it wasn’t for videos like this or people like you Sam I would have given up a long time ago. Thank you for being a source of inspiration and support! ❤️
should i do gm diet or water fast??? like if i did these both for a week which will make me loose more weight???
Sam this is such an amazing video because you are able to take a moment and reflect on what’s going on. I have gone through a lot of these issues, but the more time you devote to veganism, the easier it will be. I think you live in LA, that city has so many vegan options. Let yourself explore the city again don’t beat yourself up about not being “vegan enough”, and most importantly, continue this insight. You’ll be a smarter vegan 6 months from now, it just takes a bit of time ♥
You can get 21g protein for breakfast if you have a peanut butter sandwich on Eureka bread! Each slice of bread is 7 grams of protein and peanut butter is 7 as well. You can also drink a glass of plant based protein milk for about 30g of protein!!! ☺️
so so true, it’s like a competition in the vegan community to be ‘vegan enough’ like if you still eat honey (i know you do and i also only buy from a local farm, my dad was a beekeeper and i KNOW THE FACTS PPL…) but people dont see the fact that you’re still doing amazing things for the world and only see that you’re doing one thing they don’t agree with!
I had a hard time with veganism because I can’t eat beans or legumes or avocado (I don’t digest them properly so I get very ill if I have them) and my son is allergic to all types of nuts so we don’t have them in our house. I get very inflamed when I’m filling up on grains or starchy veggies, so I had a very hard time feeling full and getting enough to eat in a day… Any tips out there?
Do you really ‘save’ 100 animals though? Wouldn’t they still go through as many anyways? I understand the concept but I think those animals are still dying anyways:( It would just go to waste. Idk I understand why people go vegan but I do believe human bodies were designed to eat meat and veganism is not always an affordable choice for some people/families
Love you!!! Btw I did a vegan what I eat in a day in channel!!! Feel free to check it out if you need inspiration!!
how did you go vegan? What made you watch these documentaries?
You’re video was soooo good (they are always good, but this one <3) especially the end resinated very much with me sooo happy that you went vegan <3
I love your spirit you are awesome and I’m glad I ran across your video I’ve been watching you for about a year now and you make me want to be a better person all the time which I am a very sweet and giving person but you inspires me truly l really hope your life be filled with blessings and you and your boyfriend live a happy life ❤
Wow, Dr Keith you look great. Your skin is clear with great color. You also look much younger. Congratulations!
Loved this video, yes there are cons, for me most of it comes from other people. It took my family 2 years to accept I eat plantbased. I usually don’t even say I’m a vegan, more like plantbased, because people look at me like are you crazy gal? Other part is the vegan community, some people tend to be rude. When I went vegan I didn’t throw out all my nonvegan belongings like bags, shoes, but I don’t buy leather any more. I’m on instagram too with food photos and when I posted a pic of a nail polish I bought I started to get dms that this nailpolish is vegan but this company has plants in China and they test on animals according to local law (shame on you China government btw), so throw out the nail polish and delete your post! I was like okay I will be more aware next time but let me live please, you eat bread and usually there are bugs and mice in the flour (once I found a tiny bone in a whole grain bread so no more bread for me ), or x% of every chocolate even dark chocolate is allowed to be made of bugs, or you accidentaly eat them in your salad, now what noone is vegan I think everyone needs to eat and do what they want and be happy for each other ❤
Sweet Sam its so funny, yesterday I actually thought about when you went vegan and i feel you are “brighter” and overall more positive❤️ about the community you are totally right, but there are indeen vegans like you and me who are about the inclusivity. Theres no point in pushing people into being perfect vegans when they cant handle it and can end up giving up… and theres no perfect vegans anyway. Just people doing the best they can ❤️❤️❤️
Your such a sweetheart!! Just binge watching your video, expecially law of attraction ones REALLY helpful, love you ❤️
I’ve never eaten meat but went vegan 3 weeks ago. Always love your videos Sam. I was just wondering what type of food you feed your pups.. i’m guessing it meat but is is organic or what not?? xoxo
Do you feel it’s harder to be as lean as you were before going vegan? You look the same to me but when I tried it I felt soft.
Hi Sam! I’m just wondering if you’ve heard of the channel “Pick Up Limes”? She’s a licensed plant based nutritionist! Additionally, to your protein point she has a list of plant based protein sources!!
Loved the video thanks for being so candid!
I wish I could go vegan. Every vegan meal I eat I get so so hungry so quickly afterwords. I feel so weak idk how people are able to do it so easily. Maybe I’m just not making the right kinds of meals.
So excited that you are living a vegan lifestyle! It definitely makes your body feel so much better! You had mentioned being worried about getting enough protein, and what a lot of people don’t realize is that all protein comes from plants. When you are eating animal protein you are just eating recycled plant protein (because that is how they get their protein, from grass and stuff like that). So as long as you are eating a colorful variety of yummy plants, then you are getting plenty of daily protein! No worries needed! Cheering you on along your journey!!
This is a fantastic video. Thank you so much for posting!! <3
Veganism/Plant-based should be a “lead by example” mindset, and not an “I’m right you’re wrong” kind of thing. Everyone starts somewhere and we should to encourage people to start their vegan journey, even if it means baby steps and may take a long time. 4 months after I became plant-based, my boyfriend and his friend have transitioned too. As well as 1 other co-worker of mine is now vegetarian, and another gave up meat/dairy for Lent and has now drastically reduced her intake and is considering becoming full plant-based. All I had to do was stay positive and encourage them on their small accomplishments and lead by example. It’s such a wonderful feeling knowing you’re not harming animals & showing others they don’t have to either
Great video folks!! I started my keto about 2 weeks ago with a one day hiccup lol, but im back on the horse ive lost 15lbs so far and im always looking for success stories and benefits to this diet also since i want to slowly get my dad on some form of this diet since he’s a type 2 diabetic and is on dialysis and i hear this has great benefits for someone in his position so im glad i can show him this video
Could you make a video on tips for becoming a vegan in college?
Turn off the audio, you can thank me later. Music sucks and it is totally distracting from the information.
I loved this!! Thank you for being so honest and not just saying how amazing it is and that there aren’t any cons at all. I am newish to being vegan too and still seem to really struggle with getting enough protein too like you mentioned. Do you think you could do a video on vegan meals that have a decent amount of protein?? That would be so helpful.
Love you and amazing video once again Sam. You’ve been glowing since you went vegan I’ve noticed too!
I was wondering, do you ever use protein powder in other dishes besides smoothies? What you said in this video, about animals fighting for their lives even after death really got to me. I’m just not sure how to start eating vegan since I do help buy groceries for my mom, brother and myself.
I’ve been vegan for a year, and I totally understand everything you said in this!!
I eat lots of meat, and I still have a vegetable garden… so get over it.
Great video! Love the vegan lifestyle and would never change, pros really do outweigh cons x
I have heard many nutritionists stating that dairy and a diet high in animal protein causes acidity and actually causes calcium deficiencies. Also, osteoporosis is most prevalent in countries with high dairy intakes.
Also, Vit B12 is a common nutrient deficiency amongst vegans and omnivores alike.
