love all your videos, it shows the real lives, no one can imitate lives.
i injured my Achillies heel working out in a cold environment due to a non sufficient warmup ( would have been for a normal temp though ), 10 min of extra warmups definitely beats the 6 weeks to 6 months recovery period ( if you’re unlucky as iam )
I lift weights in the cold but no cardio. I have asthma so my lungs would close up very quickly.
Thanks Coach, I’m planning my winter training and general conditioning for the winter and this has given me (excuse the pun) food for thought. But really it is a help as I am aiming to stay healthy with no illness this winter, it’s going to be a task while working in school with kids, they have so many germs. Thanks Elizabeth.
Hey Coach Elizabeth it’s been cold here in the north for some time now only 4-5 degrees when running in the morning snow won’t be long now. I always wear a buff now during winter months it does give the lungs some warmer moist air to breathe in. Profile pic is me running in -8 last year it’s doable managing expectations on times is important. But winter training gives great benefits to running in the spring. Glad to see you busting those dance moves again Soon be time for Coach Elizabeth blooper video?
If you hate winter, than why are you still living in Canada?:) It’s time to move to Italy, where you can buy an house of 1 euro (no joke!) and still work as an youtuber 😉 and if things as a youtuber do not work anymore, you can still recycle yourself as an english teacher: we really need more english teachers as you can read from my message:)
Anyway great video (as usual)!
You may very well be a wimp. But you’re getting less wimpy everyday and that’s impressive
نحن عرب هرب منا الجرب وازداد من ونيننا الكرب وحياتنا امان ونحن نوقد الحرب واقرب للمعنى بني حرب بني ضرب
It was once calculated that you can create enough body heat to keep warm naked at 0 degrees Celcius if you run at 12mph or 5:00min/mile pace. Or you can just bundle up so whatever.
I miss those hot weather months of getting drenched with sweat while running. I know it appears odd but it just seems like an important part of getting in a good run sweating it out.
I heard that lots of people run only in de spring and summer. I on the other hand prefer the winter and autumn. Less people, less overheating and it’s nice and dark out ( which I like weirdly enough). But um… it doesn’t get that cold here as it does with you. And besides… 5k’s are my “long” runs so I’m home before I freeze:]
Kid stuff. Your priorities aren’t straight. Have family. Grow up. Face real challenges.
You are so NOT a wimp man! That was some insane training. I hate going out when it’s like 5 degrees outside. Awesome job!
I love how amateurs try to tell people not to do what they are doing. Especially when they have an effeminate voice. Dude check out Wim Hof if you’re interested in cold weather training. You’re wearing too many clothes
-7C is so warm lol. Id probably wear shorts at that weather lol.
You should try snowboarding or skiing. Wear the proper clothes, and you’ll quickly start loving the snow. I am a wimp when it comes to cold weather, but I love the snow cause that means it’ snowboarding time . It’s also a great form of exercise, gets you more used to the elements, and after you get the hand of it, completely addicting.
Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. I appreciate you letting me into your precious and blessed life.
One benefit is faster muscle fatigue. Because the blood in you body is focused on keeping your skin warm your muscles get less oxygen and you begin to use backup reserves of energy. This sends the message to your brain that your muscles are being overworked which results in a higher demand for muscle growth. This is why extreme cold makes everything so exhausting. Your blood is so busy trying to keep important parts of your body warm that the parts that need oxygen aren’t getting enough of it.
“this is just going to suck” . What a riot. I trained for a half marathon in NH a few winters ago in Dec/Jan/Feb. I actually found it easier than running in summer when it was hot. But ya it sucks! Ice, snow, cold and wind is a struggle!
If i ran half that I’d be suffering with crippling knee and ankle pain after one month.
cover your mouth with a buff or a balaclava while training in the winter! a mask allows the air to hydrate before entering your lungs and prevents damage while not reducing any of the supposed positive effects of cold weather training. this is a common trick for winter runners and makes a massive difference. From personal experience this allows me to run faster and longer without any pain or discomfort (other than stitches) in my lungs. if anyone is interested in trying cold weather workouts please do this it’s low cost and helps prevent health issues!
When I lived in Alaska, I knew people that would try to gain 10+ lbs before winter.
Looks like a summer day in this video.
Great yep……let’s get real! Setting goals like this, kinda silly?
Aged 59 broke my right elbow sleep problems it is one big struggle
Question: What are those fueling options that are “easy to grab even when you’re in gloves”? I find Shot Bloks freeze and are extremely hard to chew…you have to hold them in your mouth a minute before chewing. Not very practical. Suggestions?
It was -50C with windchill last week. I’d die. Good for you though!
I gotta look out for you on my runs. Whenever I get my 25k runs in I end up at exhibition place too!!
Chasing girls while jogging is legal stalking, highly effective.

I actually train better through the winter, summer heat/humidity destroys me. Well damn, you actually gave me an answer as to why that is! Thanks mate!
watching her videos makes me more lazy cuz i dont want to do anything..just want to lay down my bed whole day and watch
her videos.
From the thumbnail who else thought he was gonna start working out in just his underwear?
you will just catch a cold. Maby you will be more resistent to cold workouts cuz your body will get used to it but in the end not worth it

I’m so envious of the snow I love cold weather, but in the UK we don’t seem to get that much of it anymore. Just lots of rain.
Your athleticism is jaw-dropping to me…at 65, only recently beginning a new lifestyle of fitness…at this time of COVID-19 gym closure, I am trying to get myself ready for my first real pull-up…and then I saw your exercise regimen! What respect welled up in me! I love what you all do…keep it up!
my cold winter training regiment.

Que bonita la relación con tu abuelita, me encantan tus vídeos.
“Don’t attempt any cardio in -15 degrees celcius”

-15 is the worst variable it’s effective at temps such as 0 to -5
I love winter…… but its decided to skip my state this year…
Складывается впечатление, что китайцы едят много жаренной, острой, жирной пиши только один раз и на ночь.
MY GOSH I just searched how many days does ginger takes to grow and it showed 9 months for this 10 minute video she waited 9 MONTHS!!!
God bless you liziqi god bless you
I loved the video because it is translated in Arabic because I am Egyptian
I would like to see you try the OMAD diet for an extended peroid of time.
Fun fact: the first guy appeared in the video is the brother of challenge maker:D It’s so interesting that nobody realised this.
I’m 14 and not good at running I get out of breath fast any tips I what to be come a police officer I know it’s of topical but just curious
The WRU under gatland used to do a lot of cold weather training before the 6 nations, and for a long time they where one of the fittest sport teams in Europe so there’s a lot to be said for it.
Outstanding work my man! I train outdoors daily in all conditions here in NYC.
Sry to be the hater here but You’re just out of shape. A little cold has nothing 2 do with it being hard. I mean look at x-country skiers. Some dont even wear a friggin hat. Also wondering why are the best runners preparing in extreme hot instead of winter wonderlands, eventhou scientifically it seems to be superior according to some study [which was not provided in the description!]
Maybe instead of going all in over and over again try to come up with a schedule you can maintain for 365 days.
Try and make a daygame approach everyday. I would like to see how you do
Me: this video are sometimes boring but still fun to watch.
Later: omg `ggggooooaaaatttt.bbbaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Love your channel and I’m really glad you’re pretty much a superhuman we live in an exponential time and we can gorge ourselves on delicious healthy food fun healthy things it’s just a matter of habit and I’m helping others subconsciously succeed. Do you doing my own training that isn’t bringing much results especially after years of wanting exponential things like a cryo chamber, EAA’s, Magnesium, Burn supplement, etc to increase recovery and get me to my goals in a more long-term Safeway. I currently struggle living in family of five and a single mother to be able to go to the gym eat enough food etc. H.O.P.E team (Helping Other People Excel) Will solve the problem I have and for numerous people. This whole team will spread the love of God and help people who live in a bad situation no longer have processed foods emotional pain lack of support etc. I need your help solving untapped human potential which is one of the worlds biggest problem I’m solving. If in anyway shape or form you can help me live in a more fun environment with superhumans not having to worry about training food transportation etc. thank you for taking your time to read this and if you’re Open minded and want to help or know more you can watch this message to millionaires video I made thanks https://youtu.be/d4pKoWmdfno
I tried this before. I woke up at 5:30 am and ran. I got a lung infection afterwards.
Look… it’s ‘Pan’ Africanism..
I love this woman’s blessing.. It’s wonderful to see a conception of lifestyle dynamic in an inspiring way.. I don’t think it’s important just to chinas.. Every nation is losing their old knowledge and concept.. China is probably the only guys that can pull this material off right now and keep it real.. and maybe the American Amish and most of the east..
Hi Brendan, how long do you rest before you carry on for another set? Thanks.
She makes doing household chores not a big deal with her peaceful n calm nature but in actual fact a lot of efforts are required, not an hour or two’s work. Anyway thanks to the org that has signed her up. They gives her time n space to grow as a team. Hope the quality control is exercised n keeps improving on the taste. Well done girl, so far so good.she deserves the returns.
The little orange fruit is very sour high vit C.. i love it and plant it. Called kietna here in Indonesia
I worked in Midwest for three years, I miss the snow and rain which today I listen to environment podcast. The coldest it gets is 45 degrees. Downey California
Love this! I’m a runner and hate the cold! But I’m slowly adding in some winter runs to keep up my endurance through the colder months. I always dread going running in colder weather an bundle up but then I feel good and start warming up and taking off half of my layers. Very motivating! Thank you
i love your channel guys!!!! but it would be cool to have a Q&A sometime with both of you to get to know you more:D
I love how the Ad i got was for medicine to help a cold
Who else loves winter and the snow my favourite season my ancestors are from hot place btw
Please!please!please! Stop these ridiculous side shots and short cuts and shots with the camera! I surely don t care about these as I listen to your videos for the infos they provide!
I do love the attempt but it s getting in the way of the infos!!!
Lov
Running in a blizzard is no joke. Trying to workout in the cold really does do a number on your throat though. I’ve known for a while it’s best to practice that in your nose out your mouth thing to pre warm the air, but it does take some thinking about it to make sure you don’t get lazy.
When you were explaining your run you said names I recognized and I realized you were in Toronto. Anyways, thanks for the great video fellow Canadian!
Oh this is super inspiring!!tomorrow morning is day1..I am buying the grips today.. I was scared to even step out in the snow before..thanks for the video!!
this reminds me of Isaac Netero training in the dead of winter
Ginger does warm you, I’m sure, but the fact of all the serious labor it requires from her will also heat up a body.
Hope she gets married to a good guy who keeps her happy like ths always
@ 3:43 李子柒:酸酸甜甜总是你; Liziqi: Sour sweet is always like you (a title of a Chinese song)
Everytime I see the puppies in her video, I just hope there will be no “the life of dog” video one day.
I keep watching her cooking to see what she used BC I grow the same foods. I pretty much know 80-90% what she used. Garlic, ginger, her own soy, plums of some sort, she used her sugars for preserves. I love her garlic, is it possible to get it that big? And I’m making that tea!
your beauty fits your kingdom…and your kingdom is so blessed to have your beauty..beauty that beautifies my day=)
Did a 5k in -26° once and I really thought I was gunna die. But I didn’t good job
I have so many questions. Do you keep the pieces of ginger that you originally planted so that they can be planted again? Why do you bury most of the ginger? Is this to keep it fresh for using later? How do you get such wonderful things to grow in that soil? It looks like it’s clay.
This video was clearly made pre covid lol. Try telling that to these retards wearing masks that they need vitamin d and exercise lol
If you Embrace the cold, rather than burrow into yourself.. You’ll get and feel warmer.
Cold doesnt help you burn calories if your excersizing. So the next time your just wasting time looking at memes or something. Do it outside. You wanna go for just above shivering for peak benefits. Please note this is my opinion. But i do practice what i preach
This makes me feel so guilty that I don’t go running during winter here in Sydney where the coldest it gets is like 10°c all about that “winter” bulk in the gym for me
I always wonder how her grandma is able to eat or chew solid food…
The food looks yummy though! Love it
Teacher: where is that video you had to prepare for your presentation
Me: 2:50
Nice work. I always love your videos and your run makes me chuckle
do you guys have videos discussing journalling, planning, catalologuing, etc?
Ah, I was not aware that you have already had “ginger” video. I just asked this one video some days ago. Thanks
This is an interesting channel… I saw your wolverine workout video a while ago and I’m interested in your actual long term gains. It seems like the channel focuses on short term goals and suffers from “shiny object syndrome.” I’m not trying to be critical, just wondering what your experience is long term. I’d love to see an update going over your most successful goal challenges in terms of long term impact.
If you ever get more deeper snow than that (25 cm + ) try snow sprints on natural terrain, park, trails ect; very intense workout in MINIMAL time. Dont need to go far, and you wont anyway lol. Got real snow? X-country ski then, better than running.
That sounds like quite simply, a bad idea. Tough. Yes. But just. Worse. Sounds like mandatory army service to me where I felt like time n stress in the cold didn’t hurt my muscles and didn’t train me, but hurt my bones and just felt like it’s wearing me down. Jogging in the cold to a degree is fine but anything requiring strength? Nah. That just sounds dangerous.
coach Elizabeth, do you recommend fasted runs on cold winter months? if yes, how long in Kms or time?
Might want to practice proper form on those pull-ups or you’ll get good at doing sloppy body pull ups. And those straight bar dips need some work as well. Try changing your long runs for hill sprint intervals.
I live in Florida. Were lucky if it gets 25 in February. I never run in layers.
Cold layering product reviews? Jackets, base layer, socks,…….
Great video!!! So I have been on a kind break for a few months from running. I am getting back into it this week, and of course it is now very cold in the mornings. Is it wise for me start back running outside, or should I start back at my gym on a treadmill at first?
Great video. I hate that the cold weather is here and getting worse for a few months but good to get your info as usual
Does anyone know the bgm? I’ve always been looking for this kind of music.
You’re a wimp because you didn’t speed up and talk to her!!
Thanks. So what services Sport Medicine Clinic/Dept would provide?
Your videos are the best for me. Always full of great advice. I love them. THANK YOU.
From where the hell you guys get energy and motivation to do all this.. Its really tough man.. ⚡
I was completely wrong about caloric intake needs when comparing cold and warm months. I assumed I was burning more in the summer and needed to take more in during that time due to the amount of sweating, etc. As always, great info Elizabeth!
You guys are making some of the best videos on YouTube. No joke
You’re a beast man solid work! This made me realize… I’m a wimp
I was just thinking about this concern, how did you read my mind!?
