Anna, I’m a little unclear on the starter. You’re supposed to feed it like a sourdough starter every other day, and feed it every other day as well. How much flour and water should you continue to add to it? Can you use it as a sourdough starter?

All the way from Malaysia. Just tried your recipe for English Muffins, came out slightly a bit stickier, probably cause I went and bloomed the Yeast first by putting it into the water and putting all the sugar in it. But after on the pan and baking for 10 minutes, although didn’t look as beautiful as yours, and didn’t have any corn meal, but the Taste and Texture was AWESOME! Your recipes have never failed me
I followed the directions on this sandwich; but I did it in this order: Protein (sausage), EGG, Muffin and I broiled the cheese on top of the egg before I topped it. We like our muffins nice and crisp and not floppy. I had potatoes o’brien in my ninja foodi while I was assembling the sandwich. It was a HIT with my picky eater son. He ate the whole thing! I realized you can substitute the protein with whatever you like: ham, chicken, pork chop, even steak!! and the egg can be scrambled instead of ‘hard cooked’ ; can be topped with avocado and tomato… many ways to do this one.. Thanks for taking me through it. Beats coughing up 4.75 for a SINGLE Sausage Egg McMuffin

Excellent breakfast recipe/idea. I love to make breakfast sandwiches in advance and have found that English muffins freeze quite well. I have not heard of the sprouted grain English muffins, but I will look for them. I do “toast” my muffins in the oven prior to preparing the sandwiches for freezing and I recommend it.

I buy turkey bacon at Aldi and recently discovered their fully cooked breakfast sausage, both link and patty. All of it is good tasting. I’d rather use a lightweight pan to keep the muffins from doming. Heating cans may not be the safest thing to do to the contents, plus the tops and bottoms can harbor germs which then transfer to the bread.

Why do you keep saying ‘go ahead and….’ before each instruction? For example, you said ‘go ahead and put the bacon on top of the egg’, why not just say ‘put the bacon on top of the egg’? Seems like three unnecessary words just peppered around your narrative. Quite annoying really.

Mac Ds doesn’t butter or oil the English muffins nor do they fry brown the egg nor do they put bacon on it (Canadian ham disc) the cheese is yellow and not real cheese. You used almost all real food and you should take pride in it but why use Mac D name? Was it to get people to watch video? You at least should thrown in the title “better than Macdonald’s
Couple of suggestions, use real cheese and place it on top of the eggs when you cook them. When cooking the eggs, use a silicone egg ring (3-$5 on eBay).

You can do this same thing veganized with JUST egg poured into the Ball Jar lids, sprouted genesis 1:29 English muffins, beyond meat sausage patties, and vivolife vegan cheddar cheese. The trick to make the vivolife cheese the best is to put it straight on the griddle pan for about 10 secs and then flip them onto the English muffins.

Turkish recipes especially your recipes are my kids favourite they always are excited when I make them Turkish food. I love this video. I watched it when I first came across it. I printed the recipe. The problem is your recipe says nothing about adding the butter. I’ve made this twice and 2 Tbsp of butter can not be enough. Please help.

Hi chef I love your recipe they look so delicious and tempting I want to know once I make the dough and keep it in fridge for 12 hrs (night) and remove it from the fridge in the morning, I have to form balls of dough immediately or wait till the dough comes to room temperature and then form the ball? Thank you
My second question is the starter has to be kept on kitchen counter for 2 days and then put it in fridge? How often should I feed the starter.

I often find bugs in the pre washed spinach so I don’t feel comfortable not washing it.
Tried these today and they are very nice. I would say, though, that I’d prefer this for a lunch and will take it to work in the upcoming week (extras in the freezer as I type) because Dani, I am afraid your oatmeal and apple muffins are my all time favourites!!! I have made my second week batch this afternoon! Sooooo delicious and sooooooo convenient just to grab 2 of them in the morning for my breakfast and only having to make my hot drink to go with it. I have sent the recipe to my 84 year old mum in Germany (she doesn’t do computers) because she thought it sounded delicious when I told her on the phone. She said she’ll try them this week. But will report back re my lunch use of these egg/veg/cheese breakfast baps!

This recipe is gold. My muffins came out beautifully. They were also also fluffy with lots of nooks and crannies and crispy when toasted, better than store bought. I just hope the recipe for the starter yields just enough to cover 300 grams. There is more than plenty left using the original recipe for the starter unless I am making muffins everyday.

My starter over reacted rose to double the size in few hours and I had to stir it down several times otherwise it will over flow. I followed your recipe to a “T”, 2 2/3 cups bread flour, 2 cups lukewarm water (100 degrees F) 1 1/4 Tsp instant yeast and 1 tsp honey.
