For me cutting all the carbs out including most fruits dramatically lowered my blood pressure. Salt reduction had no effect.

It worked well but then herd there was mercury in walnuts so that stopped even though I felt sharper mentally on them. So what do you do. Eat what you feel best eating and at least do some crunches and planks a few times a day and get some sun for vitamin D watch that milk it will make you constipated but yard work in the sun for 20 or 30 minutes or oh no an hour won’t. Shoot for logic it works every time. Our government has been working on population control for many years now threw street drugs and food and water sources GMO falls into that poison and baby powder and shit food and bad water and smog is do to over population we are padding the corners because all lives matter when all we are doing is proving that Earthes life matters less.

I got worried about my food being wholesome. Just went vegan, lost 10kg. Lately, I got diagnosed with mody diabetes, which makes me incredibly nervous. This video helps me getting a little more calm.
As someone that’s come from an past of anorexia (now years into recovery) I tread lightly looking for vegan resources as so much seems bound up in unhealthy diet ideas, really thank you for creating this tool. Promoting the idea of guidelines rather than rules seems invaluable.
These are things never were to eat, don’t sugarcoat it. All the things on the list except the beef were things never were to eat.
This started off well but I found that it missed the mark in terms of calcium and fat. You could have talked about plant sources of calcium (kale, broccoli, almonds, oranges, dates etc.) but went straight to supplements/fortified plant milks (despite telling people to focus on foods before supplementing). For the fats, there should have been a focus on dietary ALA from flax, chia, walnuts etc. and also a mention of algae-sourced EPA/DHA. Coconut milk/oil is high in saturated fat and should be avoided. It’s unfortunate because it’s otherwise a very well produced video and does a great job of showing a varied and balanced diet.
How about almonds or kale for calcium? I tend to see only fortified vegan products listed under vegan calcium recommendations. It is achievable to get a whole days’ worth from eating nuts and seeds, beans, and vegetables that contain protein?
This presenter doesn’t look particularly healthy…I half expected him to keel over from a heart attack before the 2 hours were up.
I find it easier to accept knowledge about nutrition from people who practice what they preach AND look healthy, fit and strong for their age. Furthermore, a litttle energy and ‘life’ wouldn’t go amiss. My own personal experience is that LCHF diet make lean, strong, healthy and fit. Carbohydrates and industrial oils in any significant amounts damage my health.

I’ve subscribed to your channel purely for the dishes as I’m vegetarian but I must say I still find it difficult to find a balance as too much of everything can damage (e.g. oxalate) but then how much is too much when quite a few veggies/fruits might be in the same category?! Also, any advice on maybe a different breakfast?! Everyone eats different,which is fine, and your porridge/smoothies look amazing but I can’t eat it as I’m starving pretty quickly after eating it(not even 2hrs). Same with anything sweet. My meals must be savory as sweet as a main meal won’t cut it! Any books you might recommend?

Stopped watching when he said cholesterol has calories and is part of the total fat on the nutrition facts label. Cholesterol is a “sterol” and the body cannot derive any energy from it, therefore it has no calories.

dont think all carbs, fats, proteins, alcohols r calorimetrically equivalent as he saiud. they can very in small ways, and many times people have different digestibilities for certain nutrients!! celiacs, lactose intolerance etc…

Transitioning to veganism is taking sooo much of my quarantine time! It’s a lot to absorb but it’s actually just learning how to be healthy, things that everyone should be aware of! It is making me realise that most of the food I used to eat (and that I see a lot of people eating) is focused on eating meat (and also dairy >> I’m french…) and so, leading to the thought that a meal without meat could sound like it’s missing something; when in the end, we are already missing out on a whole lot of nutrients… so I guess it is not the veganism part that is particularly hard, but more the “eating healthy” part which is destroying all the culture of food that we already have. I think this guy is only right about people who are over weight havinh a genetic component only to the extent that their system is more sensitive to all the bs and sugar they put in everything you buy. If people were more prone to be obese then why wasn’t people over weight like they are now 30 years ago. People are eating dead food even the so-called organic food is sub par so people are starving nutritionally while overeating on food that doesn’t feed their system. I can’t use canned legumes, even with rinsing them, they hurt my stomach, I always have to do the soaking and cooking myself to be sure they do no harm. When you are sensetive, canned foods realy are not the way to go, if you have no trubble, than why not ^^

The dairy and meat industry have funded recommendations from the start. Why is dairy a food group…how much are they paying for that? They have alternate sources for the nutrients on the list under DAIRY but it’s still the named food group.
Canada government is referring citizens not to consume dairy products anymore and processed food, way to go Canada, ❤️

Huge leap to conflate calorimeter with human system as far as burning calories. Completely outdated understanding of calorie needs, counting calories. This talk reflects ignorance of known science of hte last 100 years and even common knowledge of the past 50 years. Sad.

Eat WHITE grass-fed livestock meat (fish and poultry) and fiber leafy, also non-starchy veggies, that’s it. You may not even size them. Eat until feel full, of course if that doesn’t mean you eat all day long, some sense of what is full should stay

You need saturated fat. That is the good fat. Eat saturated fat often. Cut all the carbs. Carbs are not needed. No sugar, no grains, no root vegetables, no white bread.
vegan women should take iron supplements, the daily allowance is based on men, who don’t menstruate and throw their daily allowance in the trash for quarter of their life, you’re replacing most of a major organ monthly, you need more nutrition and calories just for that, but iron especially

Have you heard of the “plate method” or something similar before?
I guess you could say obesity is genetic. Our genes don’t allow us to eat unlimited fructose and “healthy whole grains” without consequence.
It realy depends, when you are healthy, it realy is not that complicated but if not…. it grows dificult fast. I have to track everything I eat to ensure I get what I need to be more or less painfree. I have a need for pretty much zinc, it is quite unlikely I fil that one up on accident just by eating what comes into my mind. I have a tendency to eat way to few calories and more sugar (fruits) while not getting enough fat…
so..what exactly is high in calcium except for supplemented plant milk?
