So you wanna tel me that this amount of chia is for one person??? If you wanna poo like crazy it’s fine, but earing 3 tablespoon od chia seeds every day you will end up on toilet seat all day
Dr Berg, you are complicating easy recipe. Instead of putting liquid first, add chia and cacao powder, and mix them. You would avoid cacao to create lumps. Add little bit of liquid, and stir with a spoon, add liquid stevia, very soon, it will become thicker. Than add more almond milk, and stir well. Keep outside for 10 months, and stir again! Also, I would add some hazelnuts in that chia pudding, as well as hint of cinnamon, vanilla and salt.
First mistake it’s hard to hear you. You really need to have a microphone up close to you. Second of all you said “and as you can see it turns into a gel”…but we couldn’t see inside the bowl. You really should have moved the camera closer too.

We have a yearly wellness check up at work. My A1C has been steadily increasing over the last 2 years (5.4 / 5.7) and the Doc recommended I do something about it especially since My mom is diabetic. I googled A1C solutions and found out about Chia seeds. I’ve been adding to my diet, about 3 tablespoons daily for the last year, and just had my yearly wellness check up. My A1C is now 4.9! I changed nothing else. My only real exercise consists of walking on my lunch break, typically 1 hour for 5 days a week. Too bad my Doc didn’t know about this but hopefully others will see my comment here, it definitely worked for me! The Doc was really surprised when I told her about the chia seeds. Now I just have to work on my cholesterol…

Chia seeds should be ground in order for its nutrients to be absorbed by the body. In addition to that it is better to let it sit 6-8 hours so that it has positive effects on the stomach (according to Ayurveda medicine).

I really commend you in your dedication to being healthy. I tried China seed in a smoothie and it got all gelatinous I use flaxseed, which does get gelatinous too but it takes a little longer. I’m going to try and sprout the chia seed (or just buy a chia pet lol, who knew we had a super healthy garden growing in our Windows in the 80’s) do you know if the sprouts have as much fiber as the seed.?

I then realized you state in your book to soak it for longer. There should be larger print cautioning about the effects of Chia seed.

I followed this recipe and it was very soupy. It wasn’t the texture that pudding is. I feel 30 oz of almond milk is too much. How can i fix it to be a thicker consistency?

I ended up making the dark chocolate chia pudding, but I added in a dollop of creamy peanut butter and sprinkled some cacao nibs and slivered almonds on top. It tastes just like a peanut butter cup! It was so good I made my own recipe video LOL. Thanks for the inspo!

I thought almond milk was bad for keto because of the carrageenan.
Um instead of just water put in 1/2 water 1/2 heavy cream.Very good for you and good for diabetics on a ketogenic diet.Also tades much better than just water.

So I tried the cacao one and it turned out awful. It has to be my fault but I can’t put my finger on what I did wrong. I think it has to do something with these:
I may have put a lot of cacao powder ( it was so bitter )
I used honey instead of maple syrup
I used coconut milk instead of almond milk
My chia seeds were not fresh
I let it for about 30 minutes
I was really disappointed because I thought it would be super easy but apparently I did everything wrong!I really wanted it to work and now I’ll have to eat my bitter chocolate thingy for a couple of days.I am really bad at cooking anything.
just came across the your video just thought maybe i just add when you showed the almond milk you said it doesnt have that many sugars. for diabetes is not the sugars in the products its the carbohydrates that are in the product. 1 cup of soy milk is 15 grams of carbohydrates when broken down into our bodies its about 3 teaspoons of sugar. smoothie looks good but the ingredients needs to be lowered a bit for lower carbohydrates

Help Me: My husband blood sugar keeps spiking after his breakfast shake and I need to know what im doing wrong. Its started at 151 then after the shake it was 300, WHY? Ingredients: 1/2 cup rolled oats, 1 tsp cinnamon, 25g protein powder (zero carbs), 2 tsp chia seeds, 1/2 banana, 2 tbs evaporated milk, blended together with 1.5 cups of water. I thought all my ingredients were perfect, ARE THEY? Macro count 60g carbs, 38g protein, 12g fat.

Great video! What’s the difference between raw cacao and natural unsweetened cacao powder (besides the price)? I just bought some Hershey’s cacao powder and started adding it to smoothies. Love it! I was going to buy some raw cacao next but I don’t drink coffee or much caffeine…so I don’t want to get it if it can cause you to feel jittery. Does raw cacao have some health benefits that the natural unsweetened cacao powder doesn’t?
On another note..have you ever tried any of the lactation bite recipes? I want to try one…since I’m nursing an infant again I can’t eat enough!! So I might as well snack on something beneficial for my supply when I get a sweet tooth!
Tandem nursing is pretty cool! My second son is a month old today…just started pumping a couple days ago…4oz in 5 minutes both times! ☺️. Very different from when I pumped for my 2yr old!!
Will it work if I use sprouted Chia seeds? Can I add pea protein to it? Can I add lemon flavored cod liver oil to it, if I keep it in the refrigerator? I believe that omega 3’s don’t work unless they are suspended in protein (the Johanna Budwig)formula. By the way, you two are charming!

A year later with lower carbs about 70-100 grams daily my A1c is 5.4% Yes I do take metformin 500 mg ER. Blood sugar this morning was 100 mg/mg. I often skip breakfast, first meal is often 3/4cup Greek yogurt, 1 oz walnut, 1oz blackberry or other berries. Your chia is a good alternative. Thank you Adam!

Karen asked one time why the amount of chia seeds change. The answer is it depends on the density of the liquid you use. How I found out was I made 6 pint jars and I used 2 different liquids. I used coconut milk and almond milk. One set better than the other. I don’t know which was which so I had to add more seeds two 3 of them. Basically I suggest using one liquid and then record how it set so the next time you know how much chia to use.
Cut the maple syrup which ruins the healthy chia use honey or stevia
