Thanks for the recipe! Easy to make. I just made the Healing Cauliflower Soup. But 1 Teaspoon of pepper was definitely too much. I would suggest 1/4 tsp or 1/2 tsp.

I’ll have to give this a try. For my noodle soup I normally do 2 litres chicken stock, 2 tsp garlic, 2 tsp garlic paste, thyme, a bay leaf and 300g chicken breast. Bring to the boil then let simmer for 20 minutes. Pull the chicken breast out and shred it (it shreds really nicely) put your chicken back in with sliced carrot, celery, peas, corn give it another 15 minutes at a simmer then add my egg noodles 10 mins out from eating. I’m excited to try it with onion and cooking of the veg first!

Some of the ‘scaps’ you refer to still have lots of edible ‘flesh’ on them.In communities where life is hard n food is hard to come by, we cut off very very minimally n that would be our ‘scraps’.We make tasty vegetable soup with minimal use of aromatics n some of them are also eaten, not thrown away

Pro tip, use only a little salt. In some recipes, like risotto, you need to reduce the stock, and it might become too salty. Use just a little salt in the stock, and season your dish again when using it.

Hello my name is Heather, I found your channel just this week. I love your style. I’m wonder I see all your paint choices are very light, but I love color. For example my bedroom is painted olive green I dressed it with black and white. Quilts curtains and lamps, my furniture is all dark wood. I want to know if I can still make a farmhouse look, even with a fairly dark color choice. I absolutely love the color. My colors in the living spaces are light grey with all white trim. My living room and kitchen curtains are red and white ticking stripes. Which I love, I made them. The pillows on my couch coordinates with the curtains accented with buffalo check pillows, I made them as well. I’m trying to give you an idea of my color scheme. Do you think it’s kind of farmhouse vibe? I don’t like a lot of knick knacks around either. But in my kitchen I have a huge collection of red and white speckled enamelware, the new stuff. I prefer using my hand immersion blender instead of transferring the soup to a blender. That way you can purée the soup in the pot. Less cleanup. Less risk for burning yourself.

You have terrible knife skills. And there is a reason there’s an order to how you should put food into a hot pan. Garlic is one of the last things, carrots are first.

If you have a small bulb of garlic, turn it sideways & cut in half. Or, if you’re like me, use a large bulb.

Too bad I just hate the consistency of thick soups…. The recipes for the soups are amazing though, but I think I’m just going to add more water to the pot. And unfortunately no stock (fresh or in carton boxes) available where I live, unless I make my own. Bouillon cubes instead it is!

I save all scraps, even the fat and skin from picnic roasts. They impart a nice flavor and the fat can be scraped off the top in the morning so no need to worry about it. I also always add Summer savory. Can’t imagine cooking without it.

One thing I’ve added at the start of my soup is fry up a bit of smoked prosciutto in the bottom of the pot with a touch of oil before I add the veggies and stock. You will have to make your “I’m trying this for the first time despite having eaten this before and know exactly what’s coming” face two to three more times per spoonful.

The cauliflower soup is awesome. I did kinda changed it. Instead of leeks I used white onion and a shallot. I couldn’t find leeks . Then I used roasted cashews instead of raw (they are hard to find!!!). I did use lemon juice. But still, sooooo awesome. Thank you!!!

presumably to make it powdered stock/stock cubes you boil all the water away until you’re just left wth the powder?

I’m doing this now, I had almost all the ingredients in my refrigerator and I didn’t even know it, the two ingredients I didn’t have was Thyme and fresh garlic but I used minced garlic and ms dash seasoning have Thyme in it. I was just about to buy vegetables stock when I can just make it, thanks
Just made bone broth yesterday in my ibstantpot. I made a chicken casserole for dinner so I cooked the chicken in the pot, so after I shredded the chicken off the bone I put t back with the broth in the instant pot with vinegar and carrots onion celery and garlic with pepper and salt and made bone broth. I’ll have to wait until it cools off because here in south east Indiana it’s been 90° every day for what seems like weeks. It’s so hot and my husband can’t eat hot soup in this kind of weather. BUT as soon as it cools off, this is in my rotation! The best thing I ever learned about was bone broth. Thank you Lisa!!

You have a great recipe for this soup. It’s a fine line between dull and delicious. Yours is my definition of delicious. I made this yesterday, and it’s literally the best chicken noodle I’ve EVER had. I switched it up a bit by using half a red onion, egg noodles, minced ginger, minced garlic, and I added plenty of cayenne. Fantastic and even better today. Low key obsessed.:D

Looks good. Love the addition of ginger. I would recommend getting a nice sturdy chef’s knife if you do a lot of cooking. Makes the chopping easier:-)

I wonder how many people actually make the recipes vs coming just for the entertainment. I’ve tried a lot of chicken soup recipes over the years and this was by far the best. The only change I made was to use uncooked chicken breast on the bone that I cooked in the broth. It added time but probably also flavor. I’ve also made your bulgogi, pasta aglio w/blackened chicken, fettucine alfredo w/chicken, steak sandwich, fried rice, and In-N-Out burger recipes all outstanding! My waist isn’t happy, but my mouth is. Thanks Sam!

I watched a few of your cooking videos and I really enjoy them. It does seem like you struggle with your knife, It seems like it’s not sharp enough and maybe even too long. I was nervous for your fingers too I saw another person commented about that You should give the pioneer woman knife a try! It’s a square style one. I got mine at Walmart along with the sharpening tool and I’ve talked everyone in my family into buying one they make chopping a breeze. I Actually ended up buying her wooden block knife set and I love all of them.
Less waste is always good. I forgot vegetable stock from the store and found this video. All my scraps are in a pot and simmering away now.

DO NOT SALT YOUR STOCK!!!! a comment on another youtube video about making chicken stock explained it like this
“What can’t be said often enough is: DON’T SALT IT. You are absolutely right. You never know, how much you’re gonna reduce it.
And furthermore, there is a second reason why we don’t salt, called osmosis. Water always flows from the level of low to the level of high salt concentration. So if the cooking liquid is not salty, the natural salts in the meat and veggis will suck in the water. The cells fill up and eventually burst, so all the flavor gets washed out into the cooking liquid (diffusion). That’s why we don’t salt the water if we’re after the stock, but lightly salt it if we want to use the meat later on.”
There is a lot more vitamin A in the chicken, carrots just have beta karoten which is a precursor of which we can not make a lot of vitamin A from.

Alright, I just finished a 40 day fast and for the first couple of days after my.fast, I drank juice to awaken my digestive system again, but I made these and froze all 3 of them a week before my fast was over. These were officially the first things I ate after my fast was done. They are really incredible soups! I cant decide which one I like the most. I will probably make these often. I will still be eating just soups for another week, so I am considering making these again in a few days. Thank you for posting these.
