Ingredients 1.5 cups water 1 large head broccoli, cut into pieces 2 tablespoons fresh ginger root, minced 1 tablespoon Sriracha 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated 1/2 cup low-fat cow’s.Ingredients 5 tablespoons butter, divided 1 onion, chopped 1 stalk celery, chopped 3 cups chicken broth 8 cups broccoli florets 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour.Directions. Place potatoes and carrot in a small saucepan; cover with water.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until tender.Cook for roughly 4 minutes then add in the ginger, cooking for one more minute.
Stir in the broccoli stems followed by 3 cups of broth, lemon zest, juice, and salt. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, and cook until stems are tender and roasted broccoli is done.Place the broccoli, cream of celery soup, cream of mushroom soup, American cheese, and milk into the slow cooker. Step 4 Cook on Low until the broccoli.This Broccoli Soup is a cream of broccoli soup that’s thick and creamy, with a great hit of cheese!

Any suggestions on how to avoid putting too much water in the blender? Or what to do if the soup is too thin?
If you’re making this for the first time, pro-tip: do about 1/4 of the blender full of water instead of 1/2 full to start and add more water as needed. It’s really really easy to make this soup too watery. If you do end up with a very thin soup, just pour it back into the pot you used to boil and simmer it down until it reduces to the thickness you desire.

I just made the first soup because I love cauliflower and it was amazing! I felt like I was eating a creamy soup but this has less than 7 ingredients and for my taste buds I added paprika at the end and some cayenne to add flavour and vitamix does take a lot of the heavy work out. Made this the other night, So damn good!! Make sure to add seasoning to taste! (Salt pepper). When serving, add a little bit of your fav cheese (i used sharp cheddar) and a spoon full or 2 of sour cream at the top. Best soup i’ve had in a long time.

I tried this and it’s bland. I’ve added quite a bit of salt and pepper and it still felt like it needed something. I also put in pieces of the broccolis stock hoping it would make the broccoli more flavourful. Nope I can’t see this being served at a restaurant as there’s just not enough flavour to it. I also kept my soup thick as I didnt want to add to much water in fear of diluting my soup and making it taste watery and less flavourful.

I made the sweet potato soup Sunday. I had jarred minced garlic and oops, added too much, even though my family really enjoys garlic flavor. It was still yummy. But I need to eat this soup up before making a new batch. I baked the potatoes in the oven because I wanted to warm up my kitchen on a cold day. I have a new blender, not Vitamix, but it’s very powerful and I am loving the capability of the blender.
Well, I tried it.
For your information I love Broccoli and the soup looked gorgeous and the texture was really nice, but to me it tasted like watery broccoli. I don’t know, kind of if a broccoli tried to be a cucumber. I used it as a base and changed it (a lot) bit and now I really like it. So I recommend everybody to try it and even if you don’t like it, it is really easy to make it more to your taste, because it is so simple to begin with.
Hey, I went to a Thai-Chinese restaurant and they had a dish called kungpao beef, really nice well done beef in a spicy sauce with some kind of vinegar sauce with what looked like chili pepper flakes in it on the side on top of rice it was so good can you re create it?

Made this. Only alterations were less oil for sauteing, smoked paprika instead of regular paprika and a lot more broccoli which I blended with a hand blender. Came out great.

This looks like a perfect way to make a creamy, cheesy soup without having to worry about it curdling. I love me some real cheese, but it can be temperamental to cook with. The only time I tried making cheese soup, I walked away for two minutes and it came to a full boil. All the cheese turned into a clumpy, stringy mess. Never again…
How has no one mentioned to not cut the root end of the onion off? The root being cut is what causes the onion to bleed and causes tears. Just keep it on until you’re done cutting.

Do you have low-carb recipes other than cauliflower? Beets are too high carb as are sweet potatoes, carrots and onions.
That’s not how you make the best broccoli cheddar vegan soup, it was too watery and why add so much paprika to make it so spicy? You put way too much liquid in the pit.. instead of adding more liquid for the cashews, all you do is pulse the cashews with the potatoes and carrots to make it creamy, not need to do this separately. Also, you should have added corn starch and more potatoes and vegan cheese. What you’ve you made here is broccoli and water
When you was about to type “DAVID SEYMOUR!!!” but then realized it contains nuts.
I use hanheld mixed and do it in the main pot, its much easier faster and cleaner.

Can’t you use just normal vegan cheese? Like daiya cheese, or vegan powdered cheese? I know nutritional yeast tastes like cheese in a way, you just can’t use nutritional yeast for cheese, but that’s my opinion

Take the peel off the onion, cut it in to two halves and soak it in a bowl with room temp water for 5 min or so before dicing. No more tears.

Before blending I like to reduce the Broccoli water down as much as possible so I can add it all and get all the flavor out of it.
If you reduce it too much and you need more water you can easily add some.
Theoretically to sidestep that whole process you could just steam the broccoli so it doesn’t lose any flavor to the water but I haven’t tried that yet.
This recipe will make my soup a lot easier and less messy thanks

hi i have a box of checken im boiling right now and i love the cream of broccoli from subway and so i went to wal mart to see what kind of soup will come close to it so i bought two cans of cambles cream of brccoli and cheese soup and i have a big family or at least they can eat alot of portaions and so i had to get more soups to mix in with it i got like 4 cream of chicken soup and i got one can cambles chunk corn chouder soup i for got to get flower to make soup thick i guess so i cant use that and i have no broccki eather or cheese maybe i can go in the morning early to grab flower or a bag of broccoli but i i dnt have flour and cheese or broccoli can i just mix all these cans of soup together with the chicken and how should i do it and i also have onion and cerlery and carrots and patatoes so what should i do i dont have a can corn too i only have cream corn so there i dont know if i can use that will please answer asap because they are going to want to eat this in the morning i bet i know its a lunch food oh well we are using what ever we can put together to eat but how would you make a soup with what i have i love chicken and dumplin soup also but i dont have i dont have the bisq;uik oh well please any one help me make my soulp today it is stil cooking now the chicken so hopefully someone will help me i guess u are in the mainland im in hawaii and it is almst five am so i hope you all are up so i can get some help thank you i did my nails and i cant type at all now lol this was really hard to type thank \you guys

Also I find it interesting that some people eat soup only when its cold, during the Fall or Winter months. In our house, we eat soup almost every other day, all year around. I just feel soup shouldn’t be categorize as a food when its cold outside. You can eat soup any day.
But thats just me, so no judgement.

It’s a shame that you have to cook all ingredients first, I thought the whole point of this blender is that can make soup instantly.
The reason its causing tears is because the “union scent” likes water. So if you rins your knife and cutting board first you don’t have any problems whatsoever.. Greetings from Holland.. Thanks for the video’s!
I always only breath through my mouth when cutting onions and never shed a tear since I know that trick. The tears only come when breathing through the nose. This is why wearing swimming goggles doesn’t work but wearing diving masks does work.

The best way to dice an onion:
Cut the bottom off
Cut in half, but leave the stem at the top!! This is where the gas releases that makes you cry.
To dice while still leaving on the top, make horizontal cuts, then vertical cuts from the base to the top. When you make these vertical cuts, don’t go all the way through to the top.
Then, make perpendicular cuts, which dices the onion! No tears.:)
This was confusing but I hope it helps! The trick is simply to leave the stem/top on the onion as long as possible. I use this when cutting any onion, and completely prevents tears for me!!
Little onion trick l do:
don’t stand above the onoin you’re slicing, as fitoncides are evaporating straight to your face.
Move slightly aside.
Whoa, this turned out brilliant! Take care with the amount of two things
1. salt used to season (keep shy of ocean levels) and
2. broccoli water you add to the blender (if you’re a noob like me keep it just enough to blend into a paste and add more broc-water to the consistency you want that still has that strong & rich flavor).
The soup is great as is since just the amazing flavor of broccoli comes through! I used a batch of broccoli that I forgot in the fridge for a couple of weeks & was about to toss out and now the possibilities are endless with other vegetables & seasoning
I hate soup but this is the best soup I’ve ever had in my life
I’d personally:
1. use unsalted stock instead of water
2. use less of it
3. fry the onion with some garlic in butter first
4. cook the flower in the butter before adding the milk to get rid of the flowery taste

Thank you for the soup recipes. I have a Vitamix which I love. Why are you cooking the veggies on the stovetop when you can put them in raw and the high speed (about 7 minutes) on the Vitamix will cook them?
I used to chill onions in the freezer… it does help but I discovered a better method: pool goggles. lol! I’m serious. I just keep my pool goggles in the kitchen now and put them on whenever I need to chop onions. You can even get prescription goggles for pretty cheap as long as you know your prescription.
Can you put the sweet potato soup ingredients in raw and let the vitamix cook them on high for 6 minutes?
Can you use those steamable broccoli bags? I am trying to work with what I have on hand.

Love these. I love my glass chopping board just because it’s so easy to clean. And I also like using gloves when dealing with things that stain or tend to go under my nails. Will try the beetroot soup first. Maybe tomorrow. We love soup no matter the season. Creamy soups are best.

I swear I make the second soup, exactly as you described, since many years, and it is really tasty and healthy. Just a suggestion to make it more simple. I peal everything, throw it all in a big pan full of water and cook it in medium fire for about 90 minutes. After that all ingredients are super soft and you can send them to the blender. Your soup is ready.
salt is very important. i used sharp cheddar and walnuts it was awesome. next time I’m throwing some sour cream in there.

The oil aerosol in the onion is what irritates our eyes. This oil is easily dissolved in water so you can just wet your knife every few cuts with tap water. I never cry from cutting onions anymore after doing this.

Freezing the onion for 10 to 15 minutes doesn’t prevent my tears, but it does greatly lessen them

I did this after I read in the comments that this Recipe was bland and since I’m on keto I blended the broccoli with 30g unsalted butter, also threw in the blender the leftover raw stalk after cutting it to small pieces, 50-80 ml full fat whipping cream, pinch of black pepper and salted it to taste, no goat cheese so used slices of Mozzarella cheese cut from a Mozzarella block..after the plate is ready I sprinkled Non-Fortified Nutritional Yeast….yumm yumm
I just love soup and will try all of these three recipes you have shared…..starting with the cauliflower as it is one of my favourite vegetables. Another big favourite of mine is broccoli and potato soup that can be made into a luxury version with the addition of a little cream into the soup, and a sprinkle of crumbled crispy bacon when serving. You can also go for the version with blue cheese but I personally find it to be a little too overpowering for my liking.

pretty bad recipe. check out swedish broccoli soup, it’s much better. Basically it’s with added potato, onions and a little garlic and cream. Puree to smooth. Amazing.

Yup freezer works for onions π I also noticed that when keep onions in a fridge, it helps as well.

Thanks for the soups! I ALWAYS keep my onions in the fridge. If I don’t then I stick on in the freezer before I start my other prep. I find just keeping them in the fridge works the best. If I forget to use one in the freezer than it’s ruined and I can only use it for stock. As soon as I take an onion from the fridge I just replace it with another one.
