Literally me today “OK How does Savannah stay so lean but also no worship calorie counting??” And then you post this! Amazing. I absolutely love what you’re all about! You inspire me to just honestly love my body & treat it well! THANKS GF
People who macro diet have to count macros and mean plan. People who are vegan have to make sure the foods are ALL vegan. People on high protein have to count protein and fiber. People on Atkins/Keto have to make sure they stay in ketosis with morning urine tests. People on the Starch solution have to make sure there “plate” is full of potatoes. People on the Abs diet have to focus on getting the “correct” six meals a day. People who intermittent fast have to count the hours. My point is counting calories is just one of the many lifestyles. In some ways its easier because you can eat anything you wantjust not alot.
It really has helped a lot with less binge eating at night and a better portion control

Hi Laura, so, if I’m set to a 1500 kcal per day goal, will I lose weight regardless those are “healthy calories” and “not healthy calories” as long as I’m not over those 1500 kcal???

when I coach someone I immediately raise their “calories ” by 500 to 700 calories and then the magic happens. Calories actually do not exist outside of a lab and the human body needs way more then these retarded calculators will provide..great video!!

Yess I was looking into keto but I’m realizing that I don’t want to just be eating meat n vegetables for the rest of my life.. I want to be able to choose healthy things I like and if it’s something that is not, I can eat it in moderation. It’s more about finding a lifestyle that suits you.

My first goal is to lose 45 pounds this year: ) Your advice is so amazing.
Very brief summary:
-Fasting (helps with calorie intake because you don’t snack that much.)
-Add protein and superfoods(keeps you more full)
-Increase water intake
-Increase your workouts (Cardio and Hiit works well, cus you have an effective workout in a short amount of time)
-Don’t buy things you will snack on
Well I need to count calories because sometimes I’ll go for days even weeks eating way under BMR so for me My Fitness Pal works for me.
I agree 100% with this. Counting calories every day is draining and takes the fun out of eating. Portion size and self control is the way to go.

Calorie deficit is the best way to lose weight. I tried to starve myself for a week and ended up gaining all of it back because your body stores a lot of fat afterwards. I also developed an eating disorder. Calorie deficit is he healthiest way, because there is no easy way out of losing weight.

I personally love counting calories! It really brings awareness, and I have lost 32 pounds in 6 months because of it! I use the MyNetDiary app, and it takes a matter of seconds to use, so I don’t obsess over it. Honestly, I can see myself keeping up with it for the rest of my life, but I do agree that it’s not for everybody. People need to do what works best for them.

I’ve been counting calories via an app, Lose It!, and I actually have been enjoying it. I was gaining a lot of weight at the beginning of the COVID-19 quarantine so I decided to start counting calories to start to lose weight and I’ve already lost 12 pounds in a month. It’s taught me portion control, I haven’t been drinking nearly as much, I have one square of dark chocolate per day to get me through which actually has some health benefits, and one cheat day a week where I indulge a little, maybe fast food or something, but those two things help keep me motivated getting through eating healthier and losing weight. Once I get to where I want to be I probably won’t be tracking as hardcore but will still try to be careful. It is a little mentally taxing but the budgeting part of it is kind of fun to me.
You inspire me. When you talk about a lifestyle change… are you still doing 1200 calories a day to maintain or what did you set yourself up for? I’m worried that I’ll be hungry all the time and that’s not something I’m liable to stick with.
