You can do many core-strength exercises with a fitness ball. In general, use a fitness ball sized so that your knees are at a right angle when you sit on the ball with your feet flat on the floor. Do each core-strength exercise five times and maintain good form and technique. As you get stronger, gradually increase to 12 to 15 repetitions.

Drs, I have a pinched nerve that shoots pain down my left side down to the foot. When i get on the inversion table it takes all the pain away ie, from 9 to 0. However, if i try to drive or stand afterwards, the pain comes right back sharper, stronger, and more persistant. When i am outside, i am racing to get home to invert and get rid of the sharp pain. What are your comments and advice?

i had a l5-s1 microdiscectomy 4 days ago and wanna know if i can sleep on my stomach, it hurts to much to sleep on my back because of incision, i get bursitis in both hips if i sleep on them so every 2.5 hours i gotta get up and walk around for awhile.

I’m confused. I saw a video of a talk given by a chiropractor. His video topic was the hip. He said to never lay on the floor with your feet on a chair (hips and knees at 90 degree angles). Even though the position makes the back feel amazing. I believe he said it caused deterioration long term. Is the balance ball different? Clarity please.

Is there anything that can replace a stability ball in case you dont have one?
I have tried many fit ball exercise videos, but keep coming back to Peterson’s routine. I love it & wish he had more videos for various levels & methods for Pilates at home.
Despite having spinal stenosis, I find when we do back bends, cobra, camel etc, in yoga, my back and leg pain goes away for a few hours. Listen to your body and get a good yoga teacher, if you walk in to a class and they don’t want to know about your current health, turn and leave. Find one who does!
Bob and Brad, I have both tight Psoas and Piriformis Syndrome that cause back pain. I have a desk job and like to know if you have any stretch and exercise to relief my pain? Thanks.

I didn’t enjoy this one, probably because I’m new to the stability ball, but also, it could cause more harm than good. My ball isn’t stable. It moves around, and doing the plank is impossible and pulls my back as I can stop the ball moving. Mine is meant to be right for my 5 ft 2 height, but your ball, heather, looks smaller. How does your ball remain so still?

I have bad knees so can I use this first exercise on the bed. getting down is easy getting up is painful. I work out 3 times a week so I know my limits. I have spinal stenosis and with exercises I have improved currently pain is worth in the morning and the right side down to my knee feels llike someone hit me like a big bite. stops me in my tracks for a few minutes. painful.
I have a back injury, this is the perfect ab workout I’ve been waiting for!!

I liked the workout but could do without the weird distracting music.
It is very, very stressful exercises for the lumbar region
causing demages there 20:31 up to 22:11, oh… and saying it is a great, well done… After that erector spinae (soo extesor in the lumbar area) is so overloaded, discs had to much weight compression forces, overloads and after that again the exercise which overload this area. What to say=shame and tragedy for the spine:(. Some exercises are also very dangeroes like 16:24 16:42 for the knee (who made up this ranges of motion in rotation and hyperextension for the knee). Ohhh, bad, very bad. There were also some very bad for the neck. Oh, I hope no one would do 70% of that exercises

How about the small smooshie weighted ball? I was given that to do between my knees while laying down on my back. All I had to do was swing my knees slowly and man did that help my hip issues… Are there more you can do with the small weighted balls? Also have you done any for strengthening hands, wrists, and forearms? I am noticing as I get older this area is becoming weaker…
It was better if there was no music at all so I could concentrate on the instructions.
