Thank you
A suggestion for butterfly pose. I wasn’t able to bend forward at all, but I found that the sitting on a yoga block helped immensely. In time I hope to accomplish the forward bend without it.
I have strep throat and this practice was absolutely perfect. It really opened up my back and the yin muscles of the chest, front of the neck and hips. This is exactly what my body needed… thank you so much, Candace!
I suspect I’m way below ‘beginner’ as my pose didn’t even come close to rembling your pose. Thank you for the fabulous video from Sitka, Alaska, USA.
I really loved all the explanations about how to set up the props, move into the poses and how to come out. Thank you.
@Medhb great! thank you. jillian is amazing. hope you found the full 30 minute rel-time practice too? it’s on my site in the restorative yoga folder. happy practice:-)
I need this… I love you caren. What an amazing soul she is very gifetd Namaste
Oh, thanks for the heads up! I’ll be checking that out!

hi, i have had fibromyalgia for a few years an it has spiralled downward quickly of late, i have always done weight/resistance training but found i can no longer deal with the after effects. i would still like to remain toned and trim so thought maybe yoga could be a way without the over exertion for me plus may be able to be an aid for my pain at the same time, i was sure you could help as ive followed your flows and workouts before. can you recommend which of your flows i should do? thank you
Thank you for sharing this very relaxing practice! My favorite was the supported supine twist!
I loved this but when i did the legs up pose I ended up having to put my legs back down because it made feel really nauseous…can this happen in that pose sometimes?
thank you for bringing me back to taking time and not to be slave of time
Stress relief is something very important to remove in day to day life.
Thank you for this Yin class, I will definitely use this once I can actually lie on my yoga mat without pain. I tried some of the stretches but even with just the bolster they are way too intense for me at the moment.
I do feel really relaxed from all of the breathing though, so much stress gone just from that!
thank you that was very nice. and i loved how you looked all drowsy and kinda stoned at the end. lol. hehe. good stuff.
Thank you. Recommended by my doctor. Perfect for these times.
hi Caren, you are the first one I see leading a restorative session the way I do at Amchara. I loved the supported Jathara Parivartanasana wich I will integrate in my sessions (never thought about that). Namaste
Welcome back, please post frequently now.Really missed your videos.
thank you for this! I have been taking care of my dad full time, and not doing much else.My yoga, walking, and dance practices fell by the wayside. I know I need to take better care of myself, and this helped me to calm and focus my thoughts. I’m sure he will appreciate a happier me:)
Beautiful practice with precise and helpful cuing <3 Thank you!
yes, exactly, i would do it the way you are explaining. you want to make sure the body is supported so however many blankets, pillows you need use it. fantastic that you are sharing the practice with your mother in law! i’d love to hear how it works out and how she likes it. cheers.
I liked this practice. Very nice. I just had trouble to stay on the bolster at the last pose (legs against the wall) so I just pushed my self away from the wall a bit and placed 2 pillows under my hips instead. Still, I felt a lot of pressure on my shoulders and neck… Next time I won’t put anything under my hips.
Thank you for this. I haven’t done any of these poses before. It’s nice to see some fresh restorative stuff.
Thank you! That was lovely. I appreciate the time you gave to get settled into each pose and for keeping time in shavasana. So many don’t. Thank you!
HI Caren! I Went to a yoga studio to do a class but they canceled. SO instead me and some of the students came to my place and we did your video here. It was very relaxing. THANKS!
I am a seasoned yogini, yet a brand new teacher!!!! Tomorrow, I teach my first Restorative Yoga class at a beautiful studio I’ve been hired at. I loved your class and will be following you! Namaste.
@multisunflower69 thank you, so glad you found it and liked it. did you see the 30 minute restorative practice where Jillian takes me through a real-time practice? it’s on my channel in the ‘restorative folder.’ xo.
Great video! Thank you. What microphone and camera set up did you use? I’d like to record a similar quality video:)
It was my first time practicing with you and I really enjoyed your grounded and emphatic guidance through these restorative poses. Thank you.
thank you thank you are a blessing in my life I am getting better every day
Thank you for this practice, Candace! It was only the second time I followed a yin yoga video, but I can definitely see its virtue now:D
Great video. Helps me for my class at the gym. I feel more confident in knowing the poses now when called to do so in class
I’m really looking forward to doing this practice tomorrow. I love restorative and yin yoga styles, definitely what I practice most at home. Much love, namaste
Very nice practice and instruction. Everything was very well planned and easy to follow. You have a very nice style. Your comments throughout were sincere and not overdone. Very soothing.
Thank you Caren! This was a great, gentle and relaxing yoga sequence. I’m so glad that you’re back! You’re one of my favorite online yoga teachers. I especially like your morning yoga videos but this one was great too. I really like the way you teach and speak so calming and makes me feel there’s no need to rush or stress about anything.
Hello Candace. I am recovering from a sprain ankle right now and have a CAM boot on. I would like to continue with practice by using this video. I find that I need to warm up typically and usually warm up before practice so my question is does this gentle version need a warm up?
Hi caren the non doing was very welcomed instruction, and reminding my self that I am supported from inside or held and protect enabled the non doing. Would have liked to stayed on for some more time. Shoulders are relaxed, hips lower back will with more practice open and soften. Also could not read what came up in the heart region. Thank you
Hi Caren, I had a really difficult time relaxing into the bolster even after tiny adjustments and movements you suggested. Although I did try and stick with it as best I could. Backbends tend to be a challenge area for me. Would it be better to stack some blankets instead of using the bolster?
The feeling afterwards was a sense of lengthening and a subtle opening of my heart space. Thank you for this series.
Would you fold the blankets differently if the person who was doing the pose was very overweight? Perhaps using double the blankets under the torso and placing them side by side? Thinking about how to make it work for my mother in law.:)
I felt a complete relaxation of my shoulders. At the beginning of the pose, I could feel the tension. As well, I had no awareness of my chest whichI interpret as being completely relaxed in my heart/ chest area.
Lovely pose.

That’s my new favourite practice after a long day of work at the hospital. I feel like nursing is just pure stress and constant reacting, and while it is a nice job I really have to watch out to balance it out. I loved the practice and it calmed me down. Thank you, Caren. Sending you love
You really need to be louder. I could hardly to yoga because all my attention and energy was spent in trying to listen to you. Very poor audio.
Thank you for sharing this restorative yin yoga session. It was lovely and I feel wonderful after doing it!
Appreciate the video. I do restorative yoga for the gentle nature… however, as someone with chronic pain this was way too intense and on a day that started with no pain, thirty minutes in and I’m reaching for an ice pack. Also had to crank the volume to 60 the audio was hardly audible
Thanks for this practice, I really needed that after two hardcore days at work! It felt amazing:)
♥️ Loved it! Nice and relaxing voice, very good instructions I Practiced this in bed after a meditation. I’m ready for a new day, before I felt too much stress and didn’t want to go out of bed. Namaste
It’s Day 2 of the challenge! After you practice, share with me the physical sensations you felt as a result of today’s restorative yoga pose. Deeper breath? Relaxed shoulders? Tell me below.
My lower back and abs were very tight at first, and a little uncomfortable. But by the end they felt looser and more relaxed. Much deeper breaths, too! Thanks, Caren!
I was a bit worried when I saw a younger instructor thought this was going to be high intensity but I really enjoyed it. Thanks!
Yeaah new video! ❤ super happy about this. Thanks Caren!
Loved the class! Almost fell asleep in savasana. All the heart openers were great
Thanks for taking the time to make these videos! I absolutely enjoyed this one. You have such a beautiful, calming voice and you give just the right instructions. Perfect!
So very relaxing! Just what I needed. I am sick so this restorative practice was so soothing and gentle for me after such a stressful day at work too. Great instructions and thank you for taking your time. It really made me feel alot better
Namasté
hhmmm… peaceful. We humans need instruction and reminders to lay down and relax. What have we done to ourselves! Thanks for Restorative Yoga!
This was terrific. I was not sure if I could do Restorative at home (enough props, right sequence, relax enough) this video proved I could, and encouraged me to do it regularly, thank you Caren for allowing the share of this video, just perfect!
I am really loving your classes, I started on my quarentine and didnt miss a day. I need to find the longest classes
Hey restorative yogis! How did the practice go for you? Share here.
A really lovely practice and thoroughly enjoyable. My back was hurting quite a bit & this practice was very gentle & supportive. Thank you.
Hello Candace,
I just want to say I love your style of teaching, which strikes a great balance between very useful information on posture and alignment, and leaving plenty of silent time for a truly meditative practice.
Thank you for not “getting in the way” as some other instructors can do.
Please keep it up! I’m learning a lot and healing thanks to your videos.
hello! thank you for your good video. I subscribe to your channel. let’s share yoga experience! ^^ please come to my channel and subscribe☆ ^^
I got a yoga blanket for Christmas! can you do a video using one?
Merry Christmas
Thank you. I woke up with terrible back pain today so I did your class, took a walk and did it again. Because I was able to relax I was able to identify where the pain came from. Pain is about 85 % gone!
Thank you, Candace, for the Yin Yoga classes. I’ve been practicing for about a week now and the class really does balance the stress my body experiences daily from work and school. I feel so much better! I also greatly appreciate that the classes are free on YouTube! WOW! Thank you! And Namaste!
