Step one: Acknowledge your negative feelings, fears and anxiety BE HUMAN. TRYING TO HAVE A PERFECT MENTALITY FROM THE ON-SET WILL MAKE YOU CRAY CRAY let your self feel it, dwell on it and rationalise it for some time. Also you may want to acknowledge that you are getting a bit insane because life ain’t normal anymore. Step 2: Once you’re done with all the whining, crying, groaning and indulging in the negative feelings… Pick yourself back up and reset. Figure out what you wanna be and want to accomplish within your new discomfort that you have to embrace the confinements of your own home, with social and economical limitations, and slowly build the new life that you will have to live with. Wether you like it or not, you gotta adapt and flourish with a new set-up you have to live with.

As a mom of a GenZ student, who has seen a lot of anxiety and mental health challenges with students my son’s age, I really appreciate the authenticity and courage and sharing by these young people, as their voices will resonate with others their age most. As Sophie said, “we need to meet them, in order to move them.” We need to ask and listen, in order to connect.

The “best” self doesn’t exist. It’s a trick that makes you miserable, because you are always chasing an impossible goal. You may reach a certain state and fool yourself that you are finally happy with yourself, but pretty soon it will wear off and you’ll be chasing the ghost of “the best” again.

It’s essential to just let ourselves feel real emotions right now. Whatever it is, we need to acknowlege that emotion non judgmentally. As Ms. Susan said, those emotions are signposts leading towards valuable self-knowledge and wisdom. We need to be honest with ourselves so we could learn and grow from this collective suffering.
That space between stimulus and response is so important. I needed to hear that.
Dont be afraid of bad crisis thinking of bad things is bad way to failure. so behave positively to solve your crisis.

I wore a mask to our local market today. The woman who worked there started crying and thanked me. She said that I was the first person to wear a mask, and how upset she is that people don’t care enogh to wear a mask around her. Also, because of the mask, we looked deeply into each other’s eyes to communicate.

I don’t know why whenever someone says the phrase, “hoarding toilet paper” it brings to mind in me a scene in which I see f a whole room full of only white toilet paper and that makes me want to laugh instead. For me right now having enough strength and energy to shovel snow and ice off my steps and sidewalk is of utmost importance when needing to have enough energy to once a week go on the bus to do my grocery shopping too. I look forward to getting out of the house to do my own grocery shopping. Same goes for taking the bus to visit my grandchildren. To keep enough fitness and energy to do that I must make a point of going out for a walk at least twice a week and doing my physiotherapy exercises every day after being a passenger in a roll over car accident 10 months ago at almost age 63 with chronic health conditions to begin with. I keep thinking, what about others who have just been in a car accident right now who cannot access physiotherapy treatments now after just being discharged from hospital? Just last Friday while riding the bus I saw the aftermath of 2 serious car accidents. Staying home instead of ‘social distancing’ alone while driving a car is helping to prevent more car accidents from happening so don’t feel the least bit guilty for working at home thorugh Skype or whatever.
Once I was attending a Laurie Anderson “concert”. At some point she said (not literal): “It is totally ok, in these times, to feel sad. What we must try, is to feel sad without being sad.” I just wrote it down, and I still bring that simple thought with me.
“How to be your best self…” all the time. Through the redemption of Jesus Christ is how. We can’t make ourselves better, only God’s love can do that.
