When I was growing up, my mom always used dry beans. They were so good when she would add sauteed yellow onion and garlic. The shiznit!
I usually cook with canned beans but recently bought some dried pinto beans. I would like to make some burritos with them. It seems like dry beans have less of a metallic taste than canned beans. I think dry beans overall have more flavor so I’m going to start cooking with the dry ones for now (except canned chickpeas).

Dry beans definitely taste better but they really are a hassle. I usually only make them on the weekend. For weeknights after work nothing beats the can for convenience. I feel great eating a can of beans a day. I try to add at least some form every day, whether it be from a can, lentils, tofu, tempeh, tvp, etc…
Soak your dry beans overnight in water, then the next day bring the beans to a boil, then simmer for a hour and a half to two hours, done! no Hassel at all.

I strongly disagree that it is a hassle to cook dried beans. I have soup beans (pinto, kidney, Navy, whatever) almost every day for lunch. About once a week, I cook up a pot starting with 2-3 cups, a ham hock or piece of ham, a chopped onion, and including a can or two of chicken broth, and water of course). It takes about ten minutes to get them going on a slow simmer, and then adding water occasionally as needed. If this becomes part of your routine, it’s very little work., for a homebody at least. I can tell where we are in the process by the smell.
i think it is important to buy the non-bpa cans. I bought the regular cans the other day and behold what happened after I ate them….**ting*** that is the is the sound of my wiener going limp…bpa destroys testosterone in your body
I don’t get it! How many calories are in the dark red kidney beans can when two different serving sizes are listed? If you ate the entire can that is? Is it “serving size 1/2 cup” so 110+110=220 calories for a whole can. Or is it “serving about 3.5” that is (100)(3.5)=385 calories for the a whole can of kidney beans???? Am I missing something? Why two serving sizes?
The Instant Pot and similar automatic cookers seem like the best quick cooking solution for dry beans and many other foods.
Now I realize why beans is the number one food in Puerto Rican homes. I love them and can’t imagine not having them in my diet. Mom used to make them every day but now that I am on my own I don’t make them as much. Will make a pot today.

I like to share all the videos with such a knowladge, but i feel also when vegan is exposed bigger then it hits people better. I mean if we would show more of doctors, people going vegan then more people will folllow…as people very often just follow the mass before they start to think lol. My HbA1c levels are in the normal range for the first time in years. They started dropping just after I turned vegan and my results just came back normal ever since starting this WFPB lifestyle. I am on my way to reversing my type 2 diabetes, feel great, eat great, never diet, lost weight (started losing weight after turning vegan) and I exercise every day with all this extra energy. He is a plant based psychologist. You can find interviews with him on YT (eg. on Chef AJs channel). I think he is a very clever man and there is much to learn from him, including his relaxed demeanor. His book “The Pleasure Trap” is an amazing read too.

took a minute, but she has botox. I couldn’t say this for certain, but I’m 90% sure she’s had a gastric bypass surgery with most likely a Panniculectomy Surgery. I don’t see how any of that is healthy. And yes, it’s mostly speculation and this took me a minute to see, but it’s kind of obvious if you look up her transformation. Anyone that was ever obese will understand.. You’ll see if you take a look. All that aside, she lifts weights and has no muscle. This kind of implies that she is unable to establish a mind muscle connection, common with people low in saturated fat in particular.
Dr. Michael Greger is a joke. I don’t even need to talk about him. Lol. Look up the status of him in any of his recent interviews and tell me he’s healthy.

Is kind of on the same boat. He just looks really old and worn down for his age. As do all of these other doctors that are not physically altered. His arguments are actually bad. His ideas have been debunked numerous times by several people.
Dr. Neal Barnard well… This guy hasn’t aged well at all. I was looking him up and mostly found videos from 2015 and 2016. Any videos of him in 2019 and he is now a skeleton. His skin looks thin. He has no fat anywhere in his face. If I had to guess his age based off of his 2019 video, I want to say he’s 69 or 70 years old.Which I guess isn’t too far off since he’s 65. But still he looked more his age a few years ago. Rapid aging especially when you’re older is a really bad sign.
Point is… yes, this is kind of about looks which is kind of superficial. However, when looking to health, the person giving health advice should actually look healthy if they are going to have you follow the same thing they are doing. You can take a blood test and say whatever you want about the numbers, but at the end of the day, use your own two eyes to see these long term vegans and how NOT well off they are as time goes on.
There are no magical slaughterhouses where animals are fed their favorite meal, make a last phone call to a loved one and voluntarily hold their breath until they die. The act of slaughter is violent, vicious, bloody and hellish. The animals do not sacrifice themselves for your pleasure, tradition or greed. They are dragged in, kicking and screaming until their last breath. Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you can eat meat, dairy and eggs and remain disconnected from this violence.

Whole foods all plant diet is a good temporary cleansing diet. Show one long term clinical study of 3 generations of a number humans on a strictly plant food diet from birth to death. Than we will know the long term health implications, longevity, fertility, childhood health and dvelopment, cognitive development in children, disease resistance, and all important factors that could be monitored. At this point you and the doctors are only experimenting on humans. This becomes problematic for pregnant, nursing mothers, and children, specifically that are unable to know until later the long term ramifications. I love and admire all these doctors! I am especially fond of Dr. Danielle Belardo because of her knowledge in her field and her presence on her podcast. Through her I found Dr. Angie Sadeghi and immediately i became so obsessed in learning about the gut microbiome and everything related. Because of Dr. Sadeghi I learned that all diseases start in the gut. I love these doctors and I only hope and expect this movement to grow!!!!!
