In India, we always give warm black coffee with ghee and a tiny bit of sugar to kids to improve their brain function. Coconut oil is an MCT oil. If the coffee is hot, it will melt. All you need to do is stir in between your sipping.
Perhaps reduce the amounts of mct and butter? I wouldn’t mind dropping a few pounds but it isn’t mandatory, mostly the energy and clear mind, so here comes that coffee!
I do OMAD for dinner about 5 pm but I do have a bulletproof coffee at 8am. So I could say I have 2 meals a day if I include the coffee or I do OMAD if I don’t. My meal is keto, usually; salmon, boiled eggs, courgette, creamed spinach etc. Many will say I’m not OMAD with my morning coffee but I don’t care
I don’t get it, 1200 calories on Omad? I eat at least 3000 calories on Omad.

I, as a professional dietitian can assure you that anything with that much fat and caffeine is not something that you can AT ALL call something healthy. If you want to drink coffee and feel saturated, than please, just take some black coffee and instead some soy milk or almond milk into it. It will create the exact same effect as this “bulletproof coffee” and it won’t give you blood clots.

Thanks for the entertaining video. I just want to say a couple things. 1.It’s MUCH easier to adhere to intermittent fasting once you become “fat adapted” before you start. Meaning, consume most of your calories in the form of fats instead of carbohydrates. Fat not only reduces insulin response but KILLS your appetite and cravings. 2. The fast-eat periods are flexible. Most people start with just skipping breakfast and end up on something like 18:6. As time goes by you can decrease the eating window to only 1 or 2 hours, resulting in OMAD (one meal a day).
Good video kid, get your hair cut though, do a no 1 all over, trust me, it will suit you more. You are looking a bit like Martin Gore with that haircut. And stop handing over good cash to the bulletproof guy, just buy some coconut oil and add it to a normal black coffee. I use 1 tablespoon of coffee (Kenco smooth) to 1.5/2 tablespoons of coconut oil. Tastes great, you don’t need butter, but if you like it, add that too.

I recently read about the Bulletproof Fat loss Protocol by Dave Asprey and I’m actually convinced to try it out for a solid month and see what it does. I have experience with intermittent fasting and I enjoy the idea of not eating for long periods throughout the day.
Had a checkup with my Doc and I’m considered a Category 3 severe obesity. I think this will be a good experiment to see what where this crazy diet will do for me.

I’m 13 I tried intermitent fasting and now I lost my period. I have stopped and am now eating normally but it still hasn’t come back. I wouldn’t recomend this for anyone under the age of 19. (Just my opinion)
I occasionally have bulletproof coffee but I don’t put that much fat in it. One teaspoon of coconut oil, one teaspoon of butter, a bit of cocoa powder, heavy cream and cinnamon and a teaspoon of erythritol makes it just perfect for me. Sometimes I put only the coconut oil or the butter, not both. And most often I use it when I don’t have time to eat, as a replacement.

You’re supposed to also mix heavy cream (whipping cream) and a splash of vanilla before blending. Some people prefer cinnamon instead of vanilla.

I “fast” everyday but it’s not for everyone. I eat a breakfast with lots of carbs in morning and a coffee or tea, no lunch, a light dinner. I drink only water throughout the day. It works for me.
Just started my day with.5L water waited for a hour and made.25L strong coffee with 1TBS MCT C8 and 1TBS GrassButter with a pinch of salt on top. Gotta say that I enjoy this coffee since I don’t really eat in the morning and it helps to focus, warning don’t try to smoke after a bullitproof coffee because it will taste horible and starts a glucuse process somehow because of smoking…

How does it compare to drinking coffee with no significant caloric value? Like if instead of butter or cream you used unsweetened almond milk which has almost no calories. Sweeten with your choice of non-nutritive sweetener, if desired. Both have basically zero carbs, but the latter also has no fat.
I guess it really comes down to keto vs fasting. If the fat fills you up and leaves you satiated that you aren’t hungry, then it’s probably better. If not, the calories added will negate any benefits.

What should you do if you do not want to burn any more of your body fat? just maintain fat levels. Should you do Keto coffee while intermittent fasting, because you have no more excess fat to burn.
This was totally my case. As soon as I stopped adding in all those extra fats, I began to loose weight fast! My own body fat is enough. Keep the Carbs under 20 and the rest happens naturally. Been on Keto since May 1st and down 13 lbs.
Have been doing Keto for type 2 diabetes. It worked unbelievably well, with one exception my triglycerides were sky high. Weight down, A1c down, triglycerides, way way up. Could it be the MCT oil???

If you have been consuming a regular high carb diet, intermittent fasting is almost impossible to jump into immediately. Your body is craving the carbs. Your carb adapted. Insofar as your MCT oil that you used it does not appear to be a high-quality that is to say it’s not 100% C8 oil or a combination of C8 and C10. You probably had a mixture of C6, CA, C 10, and C 12. That would help explain some of your issues with your diarrhea including that you started out with two tablespoons from the beginning. I suspect you did not continue this for many reasons because you did not even understand how to properly intermittently fast from the beginning. Break yourself slowly from carbs for a week bite starting to eat more protein more fat some good healthy vegetables by cutting out the carbs. You can’t smack almost cheese snacks like you were. After a week of a low carb or keto type diet then tried a intermittent fast using your bulletproof oil. Course this comment isn’t for you your video was months ago maybe somebody else will see this and it might benefit.
Hey big heads up if you want to try this again, to do it the right way would be the grass-fed butter or ghee that you have which are good brands but the MCT I would strongly suggest actually getting Dave Aspery’s company the Bulletproof Brand xct oil or the brain octane oil which is just the caprylic acid not the other two MCTS and furthermore he goes on the show lab results and test that prove lauric acid which is the third MCT in most MCT oils is pretty much inactive in the body and does not do what people say so he produces a super clean, filtered MCT oil that does not give people disaster pants or constipation, I can actually attest to that in my own personal experience as well

in South East Asia, butter coffee is called Kopi Gu You(Coffee Butter), it was said that heavy smokers welcome this drink more because the grease from the butter lubricated their throats and made this drink much easier to swallow.

I’m not trying to lose weight anymore, but I LOVE (and crave) bulletproof coffee ♥️. I make mine with a combo of coconut oil & ghee, and collagen, stevia, and sometimes a little keto MCT powdered creamer, & sweeten it with Bolivian stevia. I’ve added a tiny bit of heavy cream before, and it makes it even more decadent, but also something to be enjoyed in moderation . It makes me poop ♀️ & helps me clear my head like nothing else. Especially on my period, it’s a must.
I just add it in to a normal day of eating though. But I like this concept!

I don’t add fat to my coffee in the morning, because I fast 20 hours a day.
I do it everyday and there’s no way I need to put that much fat, 1 spoon of each is good enough, and I’m loosing weight.
The way I’ve done my fasting was I started it when I went to sleep then wake up and then you only have a few more hours to go.

New peer review papers have come out about coconut oil they do have higher cholesterol long chain, essentially eating a tablespoon of lard is better for you in the long run than coconut oil.
How are you getting 70% you don’t seem to eat a lot. A lot of greens and some eggs and bacon. Can you do a day in the life food journal.
People with IBS need to be cautious using MCT oil. It can cause major digestive issues for 2 straight days after using. I no longer dare touch it. However, I do use grass fed butter in hot coffee with no problems, I just do not add it to my eggs & bacon in the mornings, too much fat with that already.
Really thought that this would save your life if you drank this.

His math is wrong? The bulletproof coffee would be roughly 400 cals and 40% of the daily intake of fat. Not everyone wants to lose weight on keto, bp coffee helps me stay energized and not a stick figure. These calorie amounts are insanely low.

So my question is, in order to benefit from butter coffee, do I have to actually mix the butter and the coffee together, or will I get the same (or at least comparable) effects if I eat something with butter along with my coffee instead (ie. I usually enjoy eggs prepared on butter as my breakfast).

well im hooked on the bp coffee, i melt about 3 pounds of butter and put in a jar in the cupord and use 2 tsp daily, this stuff keeps me fool til 4pm, so now gonna cut back in red meats cheese and my fav peanut butter just so i can have my bp in the morning, remember folks moderation is key in everything
The BP Fat Loss Protocol is very strict, but I believe if you take enough vitamins to fill in the gaps it should be all right. Many people will disagree, but I’ve seen people lose a lot of weight fast just to get into BMT and they weren’t on BP Rapid Fat Loss Protocol.
You shoul try Yerba Mate instead of coffee. It’s caffeine acts in a more stable way, without crashing effects. Also it’s high in vitamins and minerals and much less acidic, so less upsetting on the stomach. I ve been doing intermittent fasting for a couple of months and it s great. It s easy to follow, it s easy to adapt the eating window according to your life style. Whenever i go with my friends i just eat and drink with them (not like she did), i just have to not eat 16 h after i finish eating with my friends. Once i was on a night out I ate after the party at 4 am. I didnt eat anything the next day till 20:00. As simple as that. IF is the easiest thing, it s easy to remain on a calories deficit even if you occasionally eat junk food, chocolate…, and once your body adapt you dont even feel hungry.
Of course if you dont want to adapt (like the girl in this video), your body wont adapt. It s up to what you want and if you are willing to make the effort for it, at least initially to allow it to become with time a habit that u do without even thinking.

The timed math test… your brain got used to doing a timed math test. It’s definitely not an indicator of improvement. Maybe if you took the math test daily for a month or two before, during, and after, you could get better data.

I agree that if you are just starting keto then drink bpc to let the body adapt to burning fat then just slowly reduce the amount of mct/butter once you are adapted, which might take from a week to 3 weeks

I personally make 4 cups of coffee in my French press, put it in my blender, add 1 tablespoon each of coconut oil and kerrygold butter and blend it. It makes 2 cups of coffee. And I never go over my fats and usually stay quite a bit under. And I eat 2 filling meals a day. With my daily carb intake under 15 grams every day. I could see if I were doing 2 tablespoons of each in 1 cup of coffee, that would be terrible. But ya not the way I do it and I am not hungry until lunch time around 1.

Try the Ketogenic diet. It’s 75% fats in your daily macros, and it fills you up and keeps you full MUCH longer than any other diet I’ve ever tried. I have a bulletproof coffee at 9am and then have my keto lunch at 1pm. I don’t even start feeling hungry again until 10pm and sometimes I don’t even feel hungry then. I’ve dropped 26ibs so far in just under a month without yet adding any real daily exercise. I also have a lot less gas, feel much less bloated, higher libido, and definitely more energy!
I am starting to drink bullet proof coffee again. I am also going to do a fat fast soon. I have been trying to
eat 2 OMADs per week and the rest of the week, 2MAD, skipping breakfast.
Also trying to do a three day fast every season. I am beginning to think that this is not working for me. I am nauseated every day until I eat my lunch or dinner, if I do noncaloric drinks only. Unsalted Kerry gold butter in your coffee, blended with virgin coconut oil or MCT oil, and some heavy whipping cream is super frothy and satisfying like a latte. I know people who have never had it get grossed out at the thought, but I PROMISE you, you won’t taste it, it will just taste and feel like a coffee house latte.
I do OMAD 6pm to 6pm with a BP coffee at 1pm and have no problems, well not a lot of hunger prangs I find if I exercise and hour after my coffee it helps

I was doing great with IF eating between 2 to 8 sometimes 5 to 8 but my weight loss stopped and I don’t know what happened. Go to Walmart you can pick up the MCT oil for about $12and if you go down there baking aisle they’ve got both Gigi and if you go further down the aisle they’ve got kerrygold grass-fed you can do either or both of these in your bulletproof coffee.
I do my coffee with 1 Tbs MCT, 1 Tbs Ghee, 1/2 tsp Cacao powder, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, a pinch of cayenne, and a pinch of Xanthan Gum. It’s like Aztec hot chocolate.
As much I love your channel, your calculations and recommendations are once again not consistent. At the beginning of this year, you recommend to do up to 40 grams of fat per meal. Later, on Mrach 28th, you shared your meal plan, where you told us you eat the following for breakfast:
4 eggs 20 grams
6 bacon 20 grams
1 avocado 20 grams
4 TBS almond butter 40 grams
That is a Total fat of a 100 grams. Not included your dinner, which had an additional 60-80 grams of fat for that single day.
…and in this video the daily total fat is again lower than what you eat.

I’m guessing here! I’m drinking my bulletproof coffee at 3 pm as the first meal of the day and eat the other meal at 7 pm after the workout. So I am fasting 20 hours. The bulletproof coffee shouldn’t stop me from burning fat. It is a good power drink before my workout which I place right between the 2 meals in a 4 hour window. Is it as reasonable as it seems to be for me?
An idea for a future video:
Draw a triangle with the vertices being carbs, fats and proteins. Put a tick or a cross next to each line. (e.g. cross next to carbs with proteins as it will spike insulin, or tick next to fats and proteins to buffer the insulin effect). I’d love you to explain basically which macronutrients one should or shouldn’t eat together and why. Also how much time to wait between carbs and proteins for a person doing OMAD. Thank you.

Dr Berg, do you think people are waiting on your app? I don’t see how anyone can do a keto diet without one. It’s the first thing to do, in my opinion, when getting serious about your diet. I compare it to keeping a budget when a person gets their first job. You have to know where the money goes and where the nutrients are. People don’t have to drink coffee black if it’s figured into your app and your results don’t pass your goals.

Due to availability and cost I’m on 2 tablespoons of coconut oil with mine and always thought MCT oil was by the teaspoon. Does anyone actually take 2 tablespoons of MCT oil in their coffee? Seems a bit like *over-egging the pudding*, as it were.

I will say a couple things. Ive been on the bullet proof diet for some time now. 1 week really isnt enough time to feel the full effects, also the fasting part you will need to build up to. It takes a good 3 weeks of strictly following it to see the major things. Also you were starving because you ate cheeze itz the night before. White Rice or sweet potato would of been better. or even avocado chocolate ice cream. Also the type of oil you used, yes its on the cheaper side but it is also filled with more of the Cheaper MCT. If you use the Bulletproof BrainOctaine it would of helped keep you fuller longer, because it is a pure C-8 chain which increases ketones a lot faster. as well as feeds your brain faster

a) the original is butter tea a
b) you want to avoid coffee side effects

They forgot to mention that the Bulletproof Coffee is supposed to be made from some special coffee beans he sells and prepared a particular way to prevent “toxins”.

Since I’ve already lost the weight I desired over the last 13 months of doing Keto, Bulletproof coffee is a great way to maintain your weight if you’re not wanting to lose weight any longer. I’ve been adding this everyday for the last couple of months and I haven’t really gained any or lost any weight. I eat about 4 ounces of grass fed meat almost every day, an avocado, and one to two veggie shakes with a few cups of beet tops, spinach, and kale each. I lost way more weight when I wasn’t drinking coffee. I also make Dr. Bergs chocolate seed treats and his cookies as fat bombs to make sure I don’t keep losing. I don’t think my body requires a lot of fat to sustain my hunger any longer. I think my body is used to 2 meals a day.

So, the whole concept behind the bulletproof diet is not to eat processed foods, which is just as important as the intermittent fasting. This is because the processed foods can actually make your body create chemicals that increase your hunger levels. So this isn’t a completely accurate depiction of how hungry you should be during this diet. But, the video was still a fun watch.

I have 1 tbsp ghee, 1 tbsp ketosource C8 mct oil, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 1 cup of sumatran ground coffee (kinda like a mocha) and with the ketones already in the oil I’ve been losing fat easily. If it’s one bpc in the morning it’ll just be giving you a helping hand in terms in energy before you use it up and start using your stores (I’m doing insanity so it’s needed in the absence of glycogen, plus don’t wanna cannibalize my muscles so quick due to being fasted and doing HIIT). If you eat several other high fat meals after and go from a deceit to a surplus or constantly give your body fat energy (not intermittent fasting) you’ll gain weight or the loss may be slower. I eat 2 other meals, one being a snack really. The rest of the day and night my body has to use it’s own stores, especially as total cals consumed are 1300.
I do half teaspoon of butter, half teaspoon of mct oil, half teaspoon of coconut oil, and 4 tablespoon of half and half cream..not bad for breakfast, lunch, dinner..i was losing weight..depends on where u are on ur journey..
One cup curbs my appetite and helps me keep my ketones up all day.
I used to dissolve cannabis in butter and milk, later I added to coffee, and showed up with even better recipe.
It makes you sleep where you stand and take you to the edge of anxiety and then just chiiiiilllll.
I’ve gone from having a coffee addiction to no coffee at all, and yeah, I’ve seen my energy levels stabilised. There’s no spike and then crash as was the case, and it also did wonders to patch my sleeping routine. I’ve also quit sugar for the same reason, but after checking other sugar related videos here, I’m glad I did.
