The basic bodyweight muscle-builders Push-up Pull-up Inverted row Parallel bar dip Prisoner squat Lunge Step-up Calf raise Leg raise Sit-up/crunch Plank.Believe it or not, all my workouts involve calisthenics circuit routines now. Circuit training is the ultimate step to getting fast results in strength, endurance, muscle mass, and conditioning.
In a circuit, you move from one exercise to the next with little or no rest between moves.Calisthenics can easily recreate a situation where enough tension or weight is placed long enough on the muscle that it’ll resist, then tear, and rebuild with more mass. The more you train, the more tension or weight you’ll need to place on the muscle.
It’s levels of resistance grow the more you train and develop strength.The exercises are demonstrated on video and every video starts at the beginning of the exercise. If you want to try a particular exercise then watch the entire tutorial to make sure you do it right. I also strongly recommend you use these filters to find the best exercises for you.
Otherwise it’s easy to get lost in.Target muscles: Glutes, quads, hamstrings, and core Lie on the floor with your arms by your sides, your right foot on a bench (or other immovable object), and your left foot elevated so your thighs are parallel.Do a set to near (not complete) failure, rest, and keep going. On warmups for main lifts (squats, deadlifts, presses), stick with 1–3 reps.
For example, if your first work set in the squat uses 315 pounds, warmups will look like this: Bar x 5, 95 x 3, 135 x 3, 185 x 3, 225 x 2, 275 x 1. If you want to maximize muscle strength, choose strength training: Reduce the exercise volume, increase the intensity, and lengthen the rest period between sets. what is better for just starting out and wanting to gain strength? I don’t want to make my muscles bigger, just stronger. Should I do exercises that make me go to failure within a few reps and do a few sets of those or should I pick easier progressions and stop before I get to failure but do more sets of them? Thanks!

I can do 10 chin-ups, but using this technique, I can do 35 of them and still not feel the burn that I normally do. Do I need to perform the reps till failure or…..?

Is it Okay to take Protein Shake while training Calisthenics? either pre or post workout.
Diet Plan known as Custokebon Secrets kept showing up here on different videos and I thought they were scam. However after my mate follow it, and finally lost a lot of weight by using it without starving herself. I’m persuaded. Do not take my word for it, search for Custokebon Secrets on google.

And you ain’t really talking about lat pulldowns. More like straight-arm pushdown. And how about the component of the lats’ function that brings the humerus right behind the body. There must be a different exercise for that like a bodyweight row.
The front lever raises are good because it makes straight-arm scapular strength and directly using strength much more concentratedly from the lats
Another good reason the hefesto is a great bicep exercise is your are putting the biceps at a deeper stretch under tension making more eccentric tension on the biceps which is an important component for hypertrophy.

The pistol squat puts more stress on the quads.
Add knordic curls, calve raises, and glute Bridges.
The last two can be done with one leg.

Did a bit modified version with one more regular ser on top of that. Great workout, great pump. I’ve ben going back and forth with weighted calisthenics and lifting weights in my home gym, and I didn’t know how to change up my routines any more. This was a nice change and challenging workout. I also used this scheme for other workouts like bodyweight skull crushers, bodyweight chest fly with TRX bands, etc… Thanks!

just fyi, this is some hardcore advanced shit, beginners shouldn’t even try…
Great vid. Only thing is knees can pass the toes squatting. It’s a natural movement. If you squat correctly and knee passes toes then it’s all good.
Unless you do it 4 times/week the number of working sets/week is a lot below what’s needed for noticeable hypertrophy if it’s your only upper body workout. At least if you’re at an intermediate level.
Decreasing the rest time by a lot could help by introducing metabolic stress though so don’t be afraid to do it or include additional lifts for maximum effect!

Explosive training is not the best for muscle hypertrophy. When you are doing explosive push-ups you are not concentrating the work from the chest but you are as much as possible asking help from all muscle groups involved so you can move the weight(your body) more explosively. We are trying to look for the best exercise specifically targetting the chest and what we want is an exercise that mainly concentrates tension onto that particular muscle and using that muscle’s functions in strict motion and as much as possible. That is not happening with explosive training.

I have an idea for you, instead of showing 2 guys in great shape doing all manner of wonderful exercises, that look great in a place that looks like its been custom built for you.
Why don’t you pick 1 exercise at a time and show how to progress from the first position to the next to the next to the last position.
Or better yet what ancillary exercise you can do to help you get to these positions.

I’ve been doing pushups to rows for a while now but I do with no rest in between. I start my pushups then I start a timer and start doing rows. Then just repeat. Should I rest in between each excersize?

Antagonist supersets kill your gains a bit. They are great for saving time and getting in a lot of volume fast but they don’t provide sufficient muscle damage, thus smaller the gains. They distribute blood everywhere and decrease your overall volume.
It would have been amazing if you pointed out the main muscles each exercise worked out in the same way you pointed out the easier and harder forms! This is still an awesome video though!

Its still surprise me, just how lot of people don’t know about Custokebon Secrets, despite the fact that many people get good result because of it. Thanks to my cooworker who told me about Custokebon Secrets, I have lost crazy amounts of weight with it without starving myself.
If I alternate between movement types (e.g. pushups, then a back exercise, then a leg exercise, then back to pushups and so on) does that count as “rest”? Cause that would save me a ton of time.
Tried this and found that I can match exactly with my total volume and time while doing a 5×10 with the same weight (pullups). What benefits do I have then if doing straight sets allow me to do the exact same volume and time?

The bridge is hard to do. How can you increase mobility in shoulders and elbow?
Sick stuff like always ma man, though one question, right now I don’t have a pull up bar and acrobat rings so I cant do bodyweight rows or pull ups/chin ups, however for now, instead of rows I’ve added dips to the full body work out to make up for my inability to perform bodyweight rows (I perform the pike push up too). Is it a good decision? Its only temporary till I get a pull up bar and acrobat rings.
I have been training for about 4 years now. I am struggling with increasing static holds. I’ve been stuck at a 8 to 10 second hold on my front lever for a couple of years. I just can’t seem to increase it for any longer than this. I am also having same issue with straddle planche. I’ve been stuck at 5 seconds. I’ve hit a plateau with my holds. I can do 15 handstand push ups. I can do 2 straddle 90 degree push ups, one full 90 degree push up with good control. I can do 10 muscle ups, one very clean impossible dip. I continue to progress in everything else except these two static holds. I can do 2 one are pull ups as well. I’m stuck with the planche and front lever. Any help would be appreciated.
To this day I still recommend this workout for beginners of any sort of lifting, not just calisthenics.

I am 12 years old at 45 push ups 17 dips and pull ups it can vary it could range from 7-10 depending on grip width and how I feel. I’m just wondering where I should go from here? Am I ready to learn planche and those sort of skills? If not what should I get to?

Learned one arm push up from doing bench press and dumbell press and one day I tried doing it and I could do 5 with good form the first time I tried. I feel like a lot of advanced calisthenic moves just comes with low bodyweight and strong core and shoulders.
So beeing a total noob in strength exercises: Could somebody please explain to me the concept of reps and sets here? I mean if you do the circle version and you are too weak to do the last exercise in the end. How the hell do you have more energy if you do 3 sets of each? i mean if anything you should be even more destroyed before you reach the last exercise?

Do you think that focusing on one main body part/strength goal while simply maintaining other areas is better or worse than just doing all around work and slowly getting everything up to par at the same time? It seems like if I split my focus, it’ll take a lot longer to achieve some stuff that could be within my grasp if I were to focus more exclusively on training for it.

In the case of people who are already advancing in training and are already getting stronger, bench dips is not optimal as it doesn’t give them enough intensity. The exercise is good because it maximizes the triceps contraction because the humerus is extended right behind the body. But the parallel-bar tricep-focused dips is going to give more tension onto the muscle because you are using full bodyweight.
Another thing……. both dips are also limited to the fact that they are not placing the triceps at a deep stretch. There should be another exercize to fill up that gap. The bodyweight tricep extension is good for stretching the long head of the triceps with tension. The stretch is important as it gives the greatest tension on a muscle and gives more opportunity for eccentric overload.
Its still astonish me just how some people don’t know about Custokebon Secrets (look on google search engine) even though many people lost a lot of weight with it. Thanks to my mate who told me about it. I have lost tons of weight.
I would really like to follow there programs but I can’t afford them. However, their videos really helped me and I’m adding variations as I’m progressing.
I used to be very slim with very little muscle mass until I started following these videos. It has been few months since I’ve started and I can see and feel the transformation.
I have to say that it’s frustrating in the beginning when patience is necessary to train the nervous system and to grow enough strength and muscle mass for even doing proper basic movements such as push ups and pull ups.

Neither bands not weighted pushor pullups are exercises, where you use your bodyweight. There should be another word, for what you guys are doing here. Not calisthenics. Or you can just tell people to also use dumbbells, barbells, machines etc. to achieve really optimal muscle growth, in the first place. This does not make really much sense.
