Exactly it’s happened to me, by MRI scan report doctor says 80 to 90% tendon was ruptured. At now what I want to do?
Shall I do surgery, plz reply me
How cure 100%
I came close to injuring my Achilles when getting out of my car really fast, so be careful with your back leg when doing that.
For the first time I’m having this pain. I played basketball till I was 19. I’m coming back at 23
DeMarcus Cousins tore his archiles at 24 as and Brandon Jennings tore his at 25 so not exactly a certain age group
I want Toronto to win but get well KD. So sad for him. Great player man
Have anyone had a Achilles cramp feel? Imagine a tear…. Ouch
New research says Achilles injury can still recover 100% through natural healing.
I’m here after my spouses ongoing injury due to working hard labor and now he’s given two choices: get a shot and the paint intensifies x3 with a 50% chance of healing with half the pain or go thru surgery and have the tendons cut
Disgustang. After tearing my ACL, MCL, and meniscus I think I’d still say that I’d rather have done that than ruptured my Achilles
Just did my tendon last night at bball. Getting X-Ray and Ultrasound today… hopefully not a rupture..
Maybe if KD plays in Denver, he won’t injury his achilles……..
I run in track and cross country and have done something to my Achilles.
People say KD was bad to join the Warriors but after have two foot surgeries it appears he made a good move. Get well KD.
It is now recommended to have the Achilles repaired by non surgical means with equal to better results than surgical repair.
Hi, thank you for releasing these informative videos. I partially ruptured my Achilles’ tendon 20 years ago. I’ve been advised to exercise according to the Alfredson protocol to strengthen my calf muscles, as my calf muscles (especially medial gastrocnemius) tend to ‘pull’. but I note that this protocol is for tendinitis, which I don’t have. Have I been given bad advice? Thanks.
I just realized that I cannot work in the medical field. I get queasy and feel sick to my stomach just looking at this stuff.

Am here after seeing Xavier woods getting injured at a wwe live event.
Ruptured both my left and right Achilles’ tendons, roughly a year a part. The speaker in the video is correct in saying that often times you don’t think about stretching or working out these tendons PRIOR to an injury. We all seem to take it for granted. It’s only after a rupture that we focus on rehabbing and stretching it forevermore.
Other points to address: being inactive and then what I’ll call “sporadically active” definitely affects the chances of a tear or rupture. That might seem obvious but people in their late twenties early thirties don’t always understand that they can’t do the things they could when they were younger. As a result, your body tends not to be equipped and able to responds to movements that you’ve historically done without thought. My advice would be not to ever go cold turkey into a competitive or semi-competitive event.
I’m 19 and tendon tears of any kind absolutely TERRIFYING me! I love an active life and hit the gym almost daily, but I usually find or make time for gym time. Am I at a greater risk for a tendon tear or injury since I lift a lot of weight and run a lot?
It’s like someone kicked you. I remember how I was yelling on other players for kicking my leg even they weren’t even close.. But pain is not even close to the level of damage made.
I imagine Kevin Durant did all of these and more. Sometimes there’s nothing you can do it just happens.
I had an surgery because tendons were been cutted due to the glass while playing I can’t run yet nor I can walk faster nor I can do a squat perfectly. It’s been almost one year after my injury… Can you help me out?
played basketball in February and partially ruptured my left achilles tendon. Played basketball 2 days ago and i’m 90% positive i ruptured my right achilles tendon. Just dont play basketball guys. Use me as an example.
Doc, i cannot raise 1 foot those that are being operated tendon… what would be the best way to practice
Any special recovery suggestions for when you tear both tendons at the same time (doing vaulting in gymnastics )
Thank you. I can not do single calf raises and I am at 6 month post op. I am obese and I think that hinders my progress. I have alot of pain and still walk with a limp. Any advice?
I’m guessing there’s only one Achilles’ tendon on the hind leg!?
Someone’s commenting Dominique Wilkins tore a different section!? Which is why he made a full recovery when some others didn’t!?
That’s a scary injury!! Trying to make the body do same stuff when u were younger!?
If u gain weight & don’t condition your muscles this can definitely happen to you!?!!
I suffered from that in a whole year of my life it takes a year before it healed
Wow! I’m 70 years old and ran about 6 marathons 26 miles race in my life time. I have never had that type of injury. I’m praying for KD.
Tore mine two years ago at work. Im guessimg it wont repair itself without surgery
Hi Andrea’s, thank you for sharing this video. I weigh 127kg and I play basketball whilst also trying to rehabilitate my achilles.. do you have any tips?
Hi. I ruptured my achilles tendon a month ago. Is it too late to do surgery now? And is it posibble for me to come back stronger playing football as before? Or is it the end of my career?
It fucking hurts so bad right now i gues i wont be able to play sepak takraw ever again
Hi I just found you video and they are very informative and helpful. I am 8 weeks post op Achilles and am doing body weight squats with my boot. I would like to remove my boot to do squats. I have no pain and have excellent ROM. What would you suggest? Thanks Gord
How does a tendon reattach itself (or reform in a partial tear) just being immobilized?
What if the patient is too obese and cannot withstand weight on single leg?
Are these (and other) rehab exercise guidelines included in your app? Or is that only assessments?
I have Achilles tendinitis. I’m so scared for this to happen to me one day
Caption says eccentric but they’re doing a concentric movement lol
everything you have said makes perfect sense! Have a feeling that hitting the gym for high impact classes several times a week followed by daily wear of croc shoes is the reason for my inflammed achillies tendons:( Alison
Thank you! This is what my PT has been getting paid $3000 per month to tell me lol
I injured my achilles tendon in 2015 but a month ago i was doing light squats with a heel support but now i have pain since then I don’t know if the support in my heel was the problem
I rupture my Achilles’ tendon 3 months ago but still can’t jump, run or walk properly. I am limping while walking
Thanks! These exercises were just what I was looking for my late torn Achilles Tendon injury!
Hi, I have undergone through Achilles tendon repair & now able to put load. But there is swelling observed near ankle after walking some time. Please suggest how to deal with the swelling. Thanks
watching this because i suffered ciprofloxacin toxicity and im recently developing a lot of pain in my achilles. im praying mine dont fucking rupture.:( if your doctor ever tries to give you a fluoroquinolone (levaquin, ciprofloxacin) DO NOT TAKE IT. it doesnt matter how old, young, or healthy you are. im in my 20s and my life is ruined after only 4 pills.
Wtf where are so many people watching because they wanted to see what happen to kd lol
You might find my approach interesting? https://youtu.be/9E2TuRXq9ns
I hate kd I’m a thunder fan, but prayers for him, get well soon
kevin durant forced to play to help his teamates but this injury comes it.
I tore my Achilles as a high schooler and got cleared in 15 weeks. Check out the video on my page!
Very helpful thx! My experience ruptured achilles on video: ( @
After 7 weeks of surgery, Physical therapy once a week for 2 months. Six months after surgery, I was able to play tennis again!
I just gained a whole new level of respect for KD. Before i though he was just a snake who abandoned the thunder to win a ring w the team that just beat him and deserve nothing but the worst. But seeing him putting his health on the line when his team needed him most gave me new respect for him. I wish him the best of luck in recovery/free agency.
Theory? Warriors losing the game?
0:43 weekend warrior
2:43 Thompson Test
omg thank you so much, i was playing in my aau league and my heel area popped and i started using this method to stretch, now i can get back to myself
NOTE: This is just a guess, but I think that it’s a either a severe calf injury or a Achilles. I won’t go as far as to say that it that it’s career ending but he won’t be back for at least 4-6 months and won’t be playing for at least another month after that.
Will calf weight lifting machine reps help prevent this? I’m 50 now.
I tried the pulling the calf thing and my foot rises but it still pains there
Hmm did you say steroids can make you susceptible to this injury?
I know of one tall skinny guy who needed to bulk up in the NBA who has this problem now.
KD is ready to play game 6 he said, his injury was a regular cramp. KD is good to go for game 6
HI, i ruptured my achilles 2 weeks ago. How do you determine the severity of the rupture?
Thank you very much that was so informative and pleasant to watch
Core strength has absolutely nothing to do with Achilles tendon rupture or any other injuries!
Thank you so much!!! I’ve suffered a very bad knee injury 10 months ago and I’ve been looking for ways to prevent other injured and this video Totally helped! Thank you!
Prayers up for KD. Dude just sacrificed his body for his team to win, the KD hate should stop right now!! Get well soon, and be back stronger than ever.
This is what ended Kobe’s career and hopefully it doesn’t end KD’s
My body tightens up n is hard to watch body videos it’s hard to watch physically idk
I’ve never seen this channel until now and for someone that has very limited knowledge on the subject, I was very surprised to the simplicity in her explanation. But what really surprised me is how many people are here after what happened to my Dude KD. Can’t believe he had to pay in this way just so people would stop questioning his resolve and his heart. Alot of this is the fault of the media and the Warriors
Although I’m only 13, this has already come quick for me (thanks for the genes, dad). I understand the pain of this, it’s something no one should have to go through.:/
Thanks so much for the video Kay & Andreas! I noticed you did not include excersises where the patient goes into ankle dorsiflexion, would that be too risky?
bro KD is done! Hope he can still recover. this is serious man!
I love these activity, injury preventative videos! One tendon I don’t want to tear, ever!
