Hi John, new viewer here. I binge watched Dot, and ended up with you! I can empathize with Dot, as I took care of my mother for a year prior to her passing, and it was extremely difficult. I reverted to putting myself last, but that was my choice, not her fault. I am glad that I spent the time with her. Please tell Dot that she is inspiring many of us by the sheer fact that she is evolving, keeping to a lifestyle, and moving forward, regardless of weight loss or not. Forget the final 50, please ask Dot to check in sometime, so we can be encouraged that she keeps her commitment to her health! NOT ABOUT WEIGHT LOSS! I would love to share something that I went through. They told me I had the same things they are telling you. Knock high fructose corn syrup out of your diet. Many processed foods say sugar up towards the beginning of their ingredients and people do not read on. They should. I knocked that out of my diet and suddenly lost 30 lbs and no more IBS.:)

Great video lots of facts and a little humor. Keep up the good work. I was 337 went down to 265 and started letting carbs slip back in back up to 317 seen the light and am back to 263. This took a few years it was slow and sneaked up on me. Don’t get complacent don’t eat the free cookies stick to your diet even when you eat out you can do it if you falter get back on it quickly making one mistake is no reason to make another. By the way your wife looks like a wonderful cook lucky guy.

Great Super Simple Coleslaw Recipe: shredded cabbage, grated peeled-ish zucchini, and a little bit of grated carrot. Soy-free Veganaise (or homemade mayonnaise), and Erythritol to taste. Play with the amounts of everything. Usually a few cups of veggies (3-5 cups total +/-), to a few TBSP mayo (+/-), to about 2 TBSP Erythritol (+/-), but make it to your taste preference of course! Super easy and tasty, and a great way to get in raw vegetables! And my 4 year old daughter loves it as well! 😉

OMG Dr Berg I ate 1 kilo white cabbage and nothing else (crazy self made diet) and got a massive acne breakout at the side of my body and legs. I almost died! Cabbage is a histamine bomb. Its like milk butter cheese and so on… very bad stuff for me.

I have a few questions:
1) When we cook, which varries from place to place, e.g in countries like India it is fully cooked till it is soft unlike in western countries where it usually use it raw or ferment it (sour cabbage). My question is does the cooking process change the nutrient in them. I guess cooking it like in India it would make it more easily digestible. My quesis does the nutrient value of the cabbage (or any other vegetable for that matter) changes when and how we cook (Note: I understand that other ingredients like spices, oil etc would add value to the dish but the cooked cabbage from the dish would it have the same nutrient value per 100gms).
2) Almost everytime I see your video I get newer information about a specific nutrient. Like for Vitamins there is previtamin and converted vitamin (carotene and retanol, anthocyanins and other antioxidants etc). Is there any book or video with detail understanding of all the nutrient (for a newbie who wants to understand). This would help me understand your video.
Else I have to go search to know what the new things are.
3) Also a detailed video on different types of harmones and their effect and the glands that produce them.
4) Lastly is there a way to communicate with you directly (old school) like emails.
Can you eat to much cabbage on keto? I usually have about 10 to 12 oz a day.
I have been eating coleslaw for a few days now. I made my own mayo with free range duck eggs and avocado oil and mixed it with some beetoot. The result is a beautiful pink salad:) So yummy with some feta cheese on top!
Even my kids loved it!

I do a coleslaw mix…80% cabbage green and red, the rest is broccoli, kale, carrots, garlic, onion, and parsley. rgw sauce is Mayo, lemon juice, apple c vinegar, dijon mustard, no salt, cinnamon and stevia to taste. I love slaw, and its a good way to mix in the beneficial vegies.

since you had such a difficult time (WASTED) trying to find a coleslaw dressing that did not have any chemicals in it why wouldn’t it make more sense just to mix the mayonnaise, the vinegar and the sugar yourself with a wire whisk? I use store brand mayonnaise it does not have the soybean oil in it.
This dressing contains Tapioca syrup which is another name for sugar (even though it soudns all organic and dandy). Please just eat the cabbage and if you dont like it, dont eat it. BUT dont put a lot of sugar in your system to force down a little vegetable.

Should cabbage be avoided by people with hypothyroid? Taking a natural thyroid supplement is obvious so as not to take synthetic thyroid drugs. Cruciferous vegetables is also a given, but should cabbage be avoided given that the thyroid supplement contains sea kelp and bladderwrack which converts to a pretty large dose of iodine?

I love cabbage… I do have IBS and do have thryoid issues and do take my synthroid every day.. don’t care if it is good or bad for me I love cabbage… and I love Brussels sprouts… there is sooo much in this life I cannot have so when it comes to things that will sit ok in my gut (does not cause gas or any intestinal issues with me think cause my IBS is not the run to the potty I go the other way so anything that helps me go is an excellent thing I very rarely have a gas issue) I also have a rare tummy condition and this sits very well with it and I can eat half a cabbage on my own at a sitting.. is it good for me?.. who cares… I love it and never done me any harm… I usually make it my supper and love to slice it and bake it in the oven, omg so excellent… I have to watch raw it will rip my guts apart and start me bleeding so only so much raw and that limits the amount of coleslaw I can eat, but cooked hell I can go to town!!!
