I just wanna share how amazing this workout is. Been doing this as my everyday routine for a month now. before I weigh 165 pounds and I was quite fat. Now I lost 13 pounds weighing 152 lbs. and my body is starting to take a good shape.
My first time doing this workout was really a struggle for me I felt like I was dying, seriously I had to pause several times just to catch my breath and now I’m able to finish it without pausing for extra rest. I’m going to continue with this routine for many months. Never felt this good and stronger in my 26 years of existence. I hope I can muster a strong will to build a body like yours someday. Seeing this video and actually doing it on the same day. Here are the results Ive seen so far (I will update this every day)
Day 1: I started to extremely sweat on the first exercises but i got through all. I extended to a minute long the 30-seconds break just because i needed more rest. My legs felt sore. My mood became lighter. Definitely continue tomorrow and to the other days.
Day 2: It was less harder than yesterday. I didnt have to extend a 30-second break. My lower body sores.
Day 3. Drinking coke and eating pizza hours before working out is horrible. I could have done it easily if not for this. It gets easier mah friend.
I am not skinny nor fat. The reason i started this work out is because I hate my belly, I prefer nice abs instead. Yeah, my damn belly was a pain during this workout but I managed to finish the first day in 30 mins (needed extra breaks because it was the first time). If people want updates I will post if I don’t give up on this but I hope I will keep going.

Weight cap is 385 lbs. That means if you weigh 200, you can only lift 185 max. I ordered an Everyday Essentials bench from Walmart website for $32.99 with a 600 lb weight cap.
You could get such a nice power rack for $445.00 even new, please dont get a squat rack for that much on a budget.

Paying 2k for a Rogue set up is amazing!
If you don’t agree, then it’s because you don’t understand the value of having equipment that lasts and YOU’RE ALSO WEAK AS FUCK.
Rogue makes amazing stuff that can actually deal with REAL weight.
Buying “budget” gear isn’t cheaper… it just saves you money initially but you will have to replace everything in 6 months (assuming you know how to train and get stronger).
If you want wobbly squat racks, barbells with soft knurling that rust and fall apart and inaccurate weights that all weigh different amounts, then you could definitely save some money with a different brand.
But if you want American made high quality gear that you won’t have to replace, then investing 2k into a Rogue set up is a FRIGGIN BARGAIN and is definitely a BUDGET set up for a SERIOUS lifter.

FIY you wouldnt be 2 inches closer to the floor if the diameter is 2 inches smaller. the diameter is 2 inches less…the radius is what you care about. The bar would be 1 inch closer to the ground while the top of the weight would be 2 inches.

Great video. I found the best bang for the buck is if you can find used old York American cast steel plates. Milled ones are a bonus. Actually cobbled a set together at my firehouse gym from all the weights at the different stations in town. Especially when they have a nice patina to them. Pretty much all cast plates come out of China nowadays. I think Iron Grip is the last American company casting general usage plates.

Invest in the barbell, squat rack/yoke and bench. Buy quality so you won’t outgrow them quickly. Everything else you can buy at discount or make yourself.

Man, I have an entire gym in my basement: rack, cable machine, lat pull, etc. I bought all of my equipment in 2000 and for weight plates I got CAP cast iron. Never had a problem with them. Also, I spent about $15,000.00 for my gym equipment and that was in 2000. Cast iron plates were 47 cents/lb where steel plates were close to 4-5 dollars/lb. I couldn’t afford any more. If I bought my stuff now, I know it would easily run over $30,000.00+.

How do I know this, being 6’5 was 300 plus at my best and eating 6 times a day with poor fed unhealthy raised livestock caused me a lot of health issues. Seen it with a few guys. I’m 47 and still trying to recover. Its a difficult acceptance when you have severe limitations and not able to enjoy the benefits of your gains and capabilities from a fitness lifestyle. Eat clean my friend, this is just a few words of the wise to help you avoid what I and others have. contaminants( animal hormones, pesticides in animals feed, antibiotics, preservatives) Hope you avoid the ailments bro.
Everyone quit being stupid. The caloric, fat, carb and protein contents in that food will provide enough nourishment to bulk cleanly. Yes you can get bigger with other methods, but not this cheap. You may not feel full, but your body is fueled, quit leaving your self control and motivation at the gym. You won’t get fat on this diet and you won’t lose size. Quit opening sales catalogs posing as exercise science and learn to cook.

I’d say get a yoke instead of a squat stand. You can squat and bench all the same but now you have the possibility of doing yoke carrys and other additional exercises. Additionally you now have plate storage

$1,777 for a rack and $175 for a bench. No “budget” about it, this was not very helpful. I have a (gasp) Marcy smith machine setup I bought 15 years ago for $350 and it is still going strong. I recently bought a new bench for $60 on Amazon and I can do everything I need.

I made my own flat bench for less than 49 dollars with 2*12 and 2*4 to tie the legs together. I am not sure how much it will actually hold. There are ways to build a budget gym and not compromise the capability of the equipment.

I bought this bench recently. Unfortunately didn’t read the 175kg limit until after I bought it. Seems surprisingly sturdy though and I like the simplicity of it. I have had 600lbs loaded on it without any signs of it strain but will see how it holds up long term. Might have to run it through the throwing it off the top of a car into an empty crate test just to make sure.

Except cardio machines and leg press, I can do pretty much everything using fitness gear pro Olympic weight bench, xrs20 bench only, pull-up bar, gold’s gym power tower, two pulley system (for cable exercises including rows, lats etc), handles attachments for cables, ez curl bar, 300lb weight set (included 7ft bar), bowlflex adjustable dumbbells, bands for assisted dips and pullups. For cardio, we have exercises like mountain climbers etc anyway.

Home training is great, all you need is a little imagination for so many things. I’ve got a decent squat/bench stand unit but no power rack for half deads. Found a couple of caravan steps for a couple of quid in Aldis, just like doing block deads now. Bands were a game changer & just so many odd & ends you can pick up cheaply. The only things I miss from my last gym are their trap bar & a really decent seated leverage row machine. Never really used anything else that I can’t do at home

I’m looking into buying some used plates since a gym recently closed down near by. They are selling at $2/lb (I’m in Canada btw) and I was going to check them out on Friday. Was wondering if anyone on hear has had experience with “Euro Grip” plates and if they’re alright? I’m planning to haggle the price down hopefully to around $600 for 375lbs, but as far as I know right now, they’re firm on $2/lb. Any and all advice appreciated, thanks!

this weight plates some weight 45, lbs. 46 lbs, 47 lbs. 48 lbs and some 52 lbs….. if you using them on a legg press there is no problem with that, but if you doing chest press, or shoulder press you might get hurt.

My York new standard plates are pretty good. All my 45’s are within 2% based on my digital scale. York rep told me me they switched foundries recently and the standard plates are molded very accurately and they will be moving the milled plates to that facility too. The Rep recommended them over their milled for the price savings. I’m very happy with them.

“Buying plates depends on your own location.” No kidding, I think besides myself, everyone that works out goes to the local Gold’s Gym. I think the people that go there might be the only people in the whole county that actually lift.
One inch Lower, hole is in center dude. Basic math lol you lose 1 inch on top and 1 inch on the bottom From the center.

My first set of plates was the CAP 300 lb set from Dunhams. Used them for years and yes they work…but at the same time, I WANT to know how much I’m actually lifting. So one day (not too long ago) I got a calibrated scale and weighed them….holy shit! They were WAY off. One of my 45’s weighed 49.6 lbs!!! One of my 35’s weighed 32.5 lbs…and so on and so on. I was shocked at just how off they were. I donated those to my son and went out and bought 365 lbs worth of competition bumper plates that are accurate to within 10 grams! Now I know exactly how much I’m lifting…not only how much but better yet, that both sides of the bar are EQUAL.
Basically: if you’re just trying to get big at home and not participate in professional competitions you’re okay going the cheap route, but consider that cast iron plates can be wrong by usually 5 pounds (up or down)
I have the hardcore bands and the bowflex 5-50lbs multi change weights. Just need that pvc pipe and a couple kettle bells

I think anyone would agree you get what you pay for, but even if you got the best for your home gym aren’t you going to weight each and every plate once? So even if you got cheap weights you shouldn’t ever be surprised by what your lifting at home vs when you compete that’s just poor planning

Good video, I’m in the process of looking at a new rack/rig, I have any old 25 year old Joe Weider Rack and it has served me well, but I’m needing some thing with better spacing and attachments options. I have already purchased an Ohio Power bar, SS elite safety squat bar, Rouge Deadlift bar with about 500lbs of bumpers. I also have got a ton of old iron plates that I’m going to sell and get some machined plates. My question is the squat stand vs a rack, if I can put attachments on the squat stand why should I get a rack instead? What are the advantages?

That’s true I had bought some weights on OfferUp from a guy. I weighted the 45s one of them was 46lbs the other one was 45.2lbs then I bought another set of 45lbs one of them is 47lbs the other one is 46.4lbs lol wtf!!!

I have a weight plate that’s misspelled and says STANDRAD instead of STANDARD that what happens to me for being cheap.
There is no bargain…. you pay 40-45% markup on the name alone… then the product is good quality but also marked up….. it’s a shame you can’t get the feriggno weights that were just as good but a hell of a lot cheaper!

I had a few cast iron plates that were fine, pretty accurate, a bit small, but uniform. Needed another set a few years later, same manufacturer, same shop. They are smaller, have a different color, and one plate is 1 kg too light. My OCD is raging hard even by looking at the plates on the bar.
Wish you would have put as much weight as you can on the bench till it gave/collapsed.
It would shut up a lot of people who think it can only handle 300lb when in actuality it could handle probably more than twice that.

I found a used smith machine for a really good price (>300 dollars) and haven’t worked out in years. Is it worth it to get it for now to get at least strong enough to worry about a great cage? I didn’t want a smith cage but i can add another barbell and use it with free weights when needed. Is that a good idea

i have one set of cheapies,”vtx”, and i use them thusly. deadlift day i put 3 yorks and then when i get to 4 plates i slide on the cheapies which have a smaller diameter and go on oh so easy, and there you have it friends!!!!

Why are eleiko plates so much thinner yet weigh the same or more than standard weights of the same diameter? What are they made of? Some cast iron seems to be denser than others.

Yeah, I too am guilty of jumping through weight loss plan to others as well, I think that I must have tried every fat loss program that was available, but eventually not one of them made it easier for me to shed and keep the weight off. I ended up trying for the very last time with the Custokebon Secrets because my cousin who told me great things about it and so far to date I have successfully lost 19 lbs within 3 weeks!
Machined plates are the way to go if you can afford them. I want a full set of Rep equalizer plates.
I don’t understand why there is so much time and energy put into squat racks and what is considered “quality”. At the end of the day, a squat rack is just something you put the bar on before and after your set. I ended up building a squat rack out of wood because all the stock is completely cleared out and guess what? It works fine!
I got my eye on a $500 rack with a lat pulldown/row attachment which I will purchase once fitness Avenue.ca has more stock.

Well, I dunno. Bought all my 45 and 100lb Oly plates (4×100 and 14×45) on craigslist and they all seem to be the same diameter. My old Weider 44’s are a tad smaller so I put them on last.
Day 1:I’m incapable of doing a push up
Day2: still can not do a push up but I didn’t stop at all today instead of push-ups I did sit ups
Bumpers are the way to go. +/tolerance is much better than cast iron. Train w/ bumpers for a month then go to a commercial gym w/ iron and plastic coated plates, you’ll feel like superman
problem is I cant even get the cheap stuff everything is sold out, so I am making my own concrete weight plates, it should hold me off until we get over this corona virus

Looking at some articles it looks like the microwave is safe for estrogen levels as it is, the problem is when plastic is involved with it. Plastic leaks BPA and phthalates chemicals into food which can raise estrogen levels. I would honestly just avoid cooking in plastic and you should be good.

$400 for a rack that’s 5 bars, screwed together? That’s fucking crazy, if you were to buy steel bars yourself it would cost you $120 at a harware store. Just drill some holes into them yourself, you’ll get a cheap squat rack that’s just as good as the $400 one and you’ll get a great diy experience out of it.

A trick I used for my PVC bipes is to put a couple of smaller pipes inside it, and then use tape around them so they really fit tightly with one an another. That thing handles 100kg at times with no indication its gonna break or anything.

However after my buddy follow it, and finally lost crazy amounts of weight by using it without starving herself. I’m persuaded.
