How heavy is this setup with all the accessories? Looks like it would not be easy to move if I am moving.
Thank you. You seem to have another big muscle you didn’t demonstrate but that probably requires a different website. Lmfao. Thanks for the insight into this machine. I was just wanting to find a review of it.
Simple, quick and right to the point pretty good video….. I have the same machine I think it’s awesome, but can you make a instructional video on hooking up the cables quickly to go from one exercise to another I greatly appreciate that.
so that is the kind of body a bowflex will give you or this guy barely works out?
Great Review, Good job I used the one with the separate poles and it whipped me right into shape but they always start out easy and get harder the more there bent, this seems more like regular weights does it come with all the attachments you need?
After watching your demonstration I purchased this and couldnt be happier with it.When it came in 5 boxes I knew it was an all day put together. It took me no time at all to assemble.I absolutely love this machine….
For a portly fellow, you sure know your way around that machine pretty good.
Bowflex should pay you a salary. Their website doesn’t have any information on specific exercises/uses of this machine. Thanks.
Great video personal trainer no bars to move where can I get one
thanks now I know how everything works on new one I just got
You are awesome at providing instructions on the Bowflex. Wish there were more videos on the different exercises!
There’s an optional Bowflex accessory rack that can hold all of the extra interchangeable parts.
You should’ve kept it, it’s a great machine, i had one sold it due to a back injury and recently i bought another one…
Hi Tim:
I recently got a Bowflex Revolution, but am having trouble hooking up the cable for the leg press. The instructional picture is not clear to me. Could you post a video on how to hook up the cable for the leg press? I would really appreciate your help!
Researched this for about a month a bit ago and you have without a doubt the most informative video on how it works. Thank you
That was nice, as I am thinking about buying one. But concerned about being able to do leg and calf workouts.
With the gyms being closed, this is a hot commodity right now. You could easily sell it today for 1k
Thank you very much for making such a real and cool video explaining the potential of this special machine in a very time efficient way. The official video from Bowflex is totally off point and is all about watching magazine cover people flex their muscles. You did an excellent job showing your friend Nabil and many others how this spiraflex technology works. Free weights are wonderful if you have diligent sidekick following you around, but if you wanna have a serious but safe workout at home without needing to beg someone else for a spot all the time, this bowflex revolution seems like the shit. Thanks dude, Bowflex should be paying you:D
It’s very helpful to see a real person demonstrating real exercises on this thing thank you!
Excellent video. I just bought the Bowflex revolution XP from a lady who barely used it. Your video will help me to do the many exercises possible with this machine. Thank you so very much!
Two dumbbells and a good bench will do a LOT of you. For less $$ too. But if you really need a machine hey knock yourself out.
bowflex dont work i had 2 off them bowflex is just scam it comes from sweeting your ass of in the not using this the guy in the dvd school teacher chease gessner he had lip suction some said where had admited it you want to get gym get comercial spin bike the best bowflex got suid some many times even by solo flex thats where they got there name from stoled from them
The Bowflex Ultimate 2 came with a comprehensive video that demonstrated many of the exercises in proper form and also included a couple of workout routines. I’m wondering if this model comes with something similar.
Nice, it works almost for every part of the body, but what about calfs and neck, somebody knows if is posible????
I’m gonna buy this. But really, what does it matter if the “weights” are light weight? You are trying to get stronger by using this machine. It like trying to find a good parking spot at the gym, and then getting on the treadmill.
I have had this and now have the bioforce. The resistance are comparable to each other but I prefer the quick change and the increments of the bioforce weights. Plus I think the bioforce is better built not that the revolution is bad (it’s also built well) Only issues with the 2 is that I cannot get sore with shoulder shrugs, chest, lat pull downs, and triceps like I do at the gym which I still go. I do push myself to the point of failure. Is there anything you can suggest?
Hi, thank you for the review! Question, we are interested in purchasing this machine to place on a second-floor room. I see your machine appears to be placed on an upper floor as well. Do you know if it’s safe to place on an upper floor? Have you noticed any damage to the infrastructure of your home at all? Thanks in advance!
Are there any abs work out on that thing? How about work outs for your calves?
I bought this machine in 2007 and sold it within a month. Had trouble hooking up the disks. It was easy to hook up the rods on the power pro.
Best review and demo. Thanks for the time you took in making this.
Nice, so it can be used as a rower machine as well yes? And how much is the maximum resistance weight…lets say for bench press? How much lbs?
Good Video. I have a question. Is the bar that the seat is set on removable?
Thanks for the review. I have questions how tall are you? I’m planning to buy one but I’m 6’7
Great review. My only question is: I currently have a Bowflex Ultimate 2 which I am outgrowing. The rods are not enough tension for me to do 12 max reps on larger body parts. I could upgrade to the 410 lbs but is the Revolution have more resistance at 300 lbs max than the Ultimate 2 would have at 410 lbs? I asked the question to Bowflex direct and the said that the Revolution has tension throughout the exercise while the Ultimate 2 had the most tension at the top of the exercise. Before trading up I would love to know the answer to that burning question.
May be a great exerciser but this is a terrible presentation that tells me nothing useful. Why go to the trouble of publishing on YouTube if this is the best you can do?
Honestly, all gym equipment works perfectly fine, you just have to actually use it!>>> t.co/xAVxGpmeo3 This one is good with the leg extension included, note this one does not let you add more than the max weight it comes with.
Awesome man, you mind telling us how it is now in 2020? If you don’t mind. Or even if you don’t have it anymore. Please just so we’ll know how it’s worked out for you this entire time or for the time that you have had it.
You spend more time putting it together than working out… looks neat but not for me
Thanks for posting this, Tim. Anyone who owns a Revolution and has rifled through the included printed manual knows it’s full of errors and inconsistencies (and at a last check of their website, the downloadable manual still hasn’t been updated with corrections). Your video is so much more convenient than popping in the DVD every time I want to learn one of the exercises.
Thanks. I’m glad it helped you. Let me know if there’s anything else I can do to assist you with your workouts. The Revolution is awesome. I wrote an article about it on my website if you’re interested. I can’t link to it here but it’s at Tim Arndt Fitness dot com:)
Thank you so much for your video. You helped me a lot to make my final decision on buy this home machine.
Thanks for sharing your experience with it!
If you had to rate it on a scale from 1(being the worst) to 10 (being the best) what would you rate it?
Thank for the information and how it’s used, cause with this quarantine I’ve gained to much weight, and my son in law just gave me one for free
Hello! I’m Justin.I did -40 lbs past one week.Visit hddiet.gs\#Vqy8
Is there any way to work out your inner or outer thighs on this? Thanks and great video very helpful.
How does the resistance compare to machines with pins on the weights? Also can you do lat pull downs?
Thanks for posting this review. I own a flex rods BOWFLEX and I am very happy with it, but I have been thinking about upgrading to this model. You gave us a regular user perspective about the machine; Thank you!
Doorway pull up bar.. Weighted vest and push up handles replaces everything this machine does… For around 100$
THIS GUY WORKSOUT ONCE A YEAR….WHEN HE TAKES HIS DOG FOR A WALK, THE REST OF THE TIME, HE BRIBES HIS WIFE TO DO THE CHORE
PLEASE put up a video showing how to set up cables for the leg press. Thank you
Thanks for the review. It was more helpful than you can imagine due to the fact you actually used it and put it through some of its motions. Much appreciated!!!!! All the best to you.
We bought ours and we love it. My wife dumped me already for her new buddy, Bowflex Revolution!! It was worth the money and quite difficult with even lower weights.
Honestly, all gym equipment works perfectly fine, you just have to actually use it!>>> t.co/xAVxGpmeo3 This one is good with the leg extension included, note this one does not let you add more than the max weight it comes with.
Just got mine fixed, super excited to use it again.
You sold it for too low…..
I bought this in 2008, it is bulky and heavy. Takes a while to assemble. The disks are not that easy to change as shown here, they require some strength to turn and lock in place. My wife wasn’t able to use the high resistance ones. I hope they fixed that by now. I sold it after a month, we kept the power pro, much easier to switch between rods than disks.
Darthgameeman are you talking about the T-bar? If so, I do have that and it could be used here too. This is more about how to position yourself vs what to use though.
Literally more informative than the official bow flex videos.
Thanks for the quick demo. You did a good job showing the capabilities of the machine! Are you still using it? How do you like it?
Wow what a great video, really appreciate your work, just one question does all the accessories comes with it? Exmp. That big part for leg exercises and that rope for triceps and also that part for biceps when you sit and did biceps exercise, thanks, waiting for your reply
Great video. I just picked up my Revolution today for $500! I found it on OfferUp and drove 2 hours away to get it. I saved a ton and the thing is in perfect condition with all the accessories. I just had to wipe it down and it was ready to go:-)
Thanks for the tutorial. Just ordered the machine today. Pretty excited. Had the old fashioned model for 17 years. Hope this new one is just as durable.
Thank you so much for the video man. apparently as of my writing there are 24 “can’t be pleased” type of people out there. But anyways, i think you did a fantastic job, and I appreciate your time making it!
Yep. before I started eating right it didn’t matter how much I exercised my abs were still jello. Listen one of my friend working in fitness field suggested me this 7 secret food items to kill our jelly belly. if you are serious go for it now bit.ly/16k2w71?=tqkop
Yes you can. This video is good but he’s wrong on the leg part. You can do squats, leg press, leg extensions, and leg curls to work your entire legs. You can buy a plate upgrade so that the lower body can deliver 610 pounds of resistance. I have a revolution so I know.
Just to be safe, I would skip the lat pulldown that way were u are seated and leaning forward. It puts u in a position were u can hurt ur back and/or sternum. Stick with the high and low row for your upper/mid back development, u will develope a great back with those. If u want to target the lats a lil more add the straight arm pulldown/pullover from a standing position. A fine lat isolation movement with a lil triceps and abs as well.
Great video. Thanks for demonstrating.I wanted a review from someone other than one trying to market this item.,So thank you! How long did this take you to assemble?
And yes I am very creative with my home gym and do change it up.
I have this machine and I love it. But it’s making a loud clicking noise but only on one side. I can’t figure out how to fix it or even what is making the noise on the inside. But it only happens when I pull on the right hand pully.
My dad bought his about 10 years ago. We dusted it off a few days ago and it works just as well as it did back then!
Is the resistance the same throughout the entire movement? Or is it like resistance bands where there is slack at the bottom of the movement?
I remember this but does anyone remember the exact year this was introduced?
You lost me at “You cant hear me because all o the noise here, I’m sorry, Your fault” and “I don’t know the model of the machine, it’s a Bowflex Machine” WTF
These machines are awesome. I own two of them. The burn you get from some of the exercises are better than the burn you get from plate weighted machines. However, it gets old switching the weights and attachments. Some of the few workouts I found inefficient on these machines are the chest fly (minute 1:24), leg press (minute 10:30), calf extensions (minute 10:55), and a few others. You need a genuine leg press and calf machine to get a good leg workout. The squat exercise is pretty good. I have been slowly getting weight stack machines for my personal gym. It is so much easier and faster to pull and insert a pin to change the weight and attachments. You can get these machines and other exercise equipment dirt cheap on craigslist. For dumbbells and weight plates, Amazon is the way to go.
Nice video Tim. I own this machine and I don’t own the LAT extension rod. This is very helpful. I have what’s called myositis, so I have limited mobility. Using the machines in the gym can be a bit challenging at times. But this is helpful since I can work on my own at home to build my strength back up.
Brotherheed I haven’t noticed even the slightest bit of wear from the Spiraflex bands.
I wonder if this feels as smooth as real a real cable machine. I have had the bow flex and hated the weird tension and the build quality. I got a bioforce and the resistance is the closest feeling to real cable machines and 10 times a quality product. Too bad they don’t sell it in The U. S anymore.
Originally got a Bowflex w/spiral tech and loved it. Wasn’t easy at first as I was so use to free weights. I’m 52 now and throwing weights up wasn’t a good idea any longer. I tore my shoulder and along with many injuries, bowflex was the only way to go. Looking forward to the home gym version so I can do some leg work, need to sell my house first thought. David Jones Seal Team Two.
Great Demonstration, exactly what I was looking for. Around 20 years ago when I was in my 30’s I used to have the power rod version. I’m not sure why I gave it up. I think I just needed some health club camaraderie so I started spending around 50 bucks a month for years to go to the gym before I got some adjustable dumbbells and a bench, didn’t feel like spending the money anymore. Now I’m seriously thinking about this machine or a newer version. Thanks Again, Great Job!!
That’s not a lat pulldown though. More like a row. Or a rear felt workout. I have one of these I load up 1 side throw a wide bar on it and sit on the floor to the side but directly under it and bam done pulldown complete
Yeah everyone this item has sold… however I have had a few comments that the video is better detailed than other videos so I’m leaving it up, thanks for viewing.
Awesome article!
I’m 54 years old and consider myself to be in good shape. However, I had a right and left total hip replacements and I can’t do my floor sit-ups anymore. If possible, can you do video on abs as well.
Thanks Tim, and keep up the good work!
Izzy from New York City
The only thing that bothers me about the lat pull down on the Revolution is if you’re doing heavy weights there’s nothing to hold you down from getting pulled up by the weights. Like the bar that goes over your lap.
People think this is worth $800 hahaa, its $2,300 to be exact. Get a Marcy Power Rack, 300lb Weight Barbell set, and an adjustable Dumbells and you are good. Trust me. BUT if you have the money to spend and are tight with space? This is a good option, but i would look into it first
Very helpful to see this in a home and used by a real consumer. You have a great broadcaster voice. Thanks for posting.
lol I was going to say the same thing this shows me more than the professional videos do.
I got a bar that came with mine, only can use it on one handle. Idk why you don’t have one?
Just curious are you still using the machine did you decide to join the gym and your equipment collecting dust. ha ha
Instructions weren’t clear enough… set fire to my fish tank.
Nasa Engineered guys, dont forget that.
Why isnt there a straight forward video about its effectiveness. Does it feel like you can stack 200lbs? or does it feel week and cap out at 70 lbs? give us some real intel on this machine.
Hey! I have a Bowflex revolution and I LOVE it! Thanks for this video! Quick question. The right pull (the black piece) on my Bowflex doesn’t rotate freely during exercise. The left one gives me no problem. Do you know what the problem could be? I tried lubrication but it didn’t help.
I bought this and now i just use it as a bench to drink beer on while my room mate bangs his gf..
I just ordered the Bowflex Revolution, and this was really helpful. Thanks –
