Finally my favorite vegetable. I was binging to think you hated bok choy or something.
Thank You for All your research, love and time.. Wow..
I just started wok cooking and just discovered Bok Choy ! It is so tasty, along with mushrooms and bean sprouts, stir fried, I could literally go full on vegetarian !!! This should be a great step in the right direction for weight loss too!
WOOOWWW I love this! I’ve been wanting to buy box choy but never really known how to cook it or use it! THANKS DEREK!
Edit: would it be dumb to do broccoli….? Idk.. I just think a lot of people think broccoli is fake.. or lab grown, same with cauliflower and I just wanna know if that’s true.
I hear about the oxylate thing quite a bit. How important is it really? And do they get cooked out as well??
I love just eating it raw. A bunch fills me up and I don’t snack as much. Actually that orange glow is what most people talk about when they compliment your skin tone. I love the advice man
LMAO uhm no, no one has ever died from meat consumption that’s just a fact.
There’s not a single human ever in the history of humandom to die from eating meat.
Preformed Vit A actually comes not from meat but from artificial sources, that’s right, those vitamens you buy in the store or shoot yourselves up with because you refuse to eat meat is why you’re having toxicity issues, it’s absolutely NEVER because of carno diets.
I’ve had some bok choy in my fridge for a while and finally used it tonight. I was inspired by your recipe, but made some changes based on what I had available. Tofu, bok choy, onions, carrots, red cabbage and broccoli with a teriyaki/peanut sauce. With 3 awesome brassicas, I’m calling it my crucifer-RICH stir fry. Thanks for the inspiration and fun facts!
When I was breastfeeding I was eating bok choy with butternut and a little honey as a snack made lots of beardless sandwiches with it. Now I have it in mostly smoothies warm/cold salads going through a big head a week or a bag of small ones.
Hey Tyler are you thinking of creating videos about the benefits of different oils that are used topically and internally?
Love your channel!
Great video! I eat a lot of it but had no idea it was such a super veg! Thanks so much!!!
Just bought Bok Choy and wasn’t sure how to cook it and your video popped up. I heard it was good, so thanks for the nutritional info. Going to make it today.
Your videos rock.. filled with great health & nutrition information, and positive energy.
Bok Choi does go well in a smoothie with a head or two of celery, some blueberries and a banana or two.
Funny I just put bok choy in my smoothie and found this vid. Feeling great:D
Been eating so much Bok Choy since this vid! So goooooood! Thank you <3
Great video. Question, do you know what part of bok choy contains the most calcium? (stems or leaves?)
I really hope you show us more recipe’s with Bok Choy! Now i’m really interested in using it! lol
What site is that where you’re getting the nutritional info? Looks handy.
Funny I picked up the third type at the market today not knowing what it was and you saved me a Google search XD
Love your videos!❤️ Can you make one about nuts and another one about berries please?
Are you going to make a video about beans soon? I’ve heard they might be oestrogenic and/or goitrogenic…I’m also curious about BPA present in canned foods…It would make a very interesting video!
I would stir in some fresh deer back strap. Sorry Vegans struggle for the existence. Every mma fighter that started out vegan switched back to meat for obvious reasons. Lack of concentration and lack of endurance and strength. Sean O’Malley case in point.
Making this tonight. I don’t have social media besides YouTube but I will come back and leave a review.
THANK YOU! I use this in my smoothie now instead of spinach and I LOVE it!! Super mild
I haven’t had bok choy in years i used to make stir fry and use it a few times a month years ago but that faded but I just bought some two days ago and have been eating it w/ cream cheese and green olives WoW what a snack My mother has been making this w/ celery for holidays 4ever the green w/ white and green olives w/ red pimentos is great holiday colors I tried it w/ the Bok Choy and it is great. Try it all and enjoy.
Bok Choy is so easy to grow. It comes to maturity super fast in my fall South Carolina garden. Can withstand frosts. Your recipe was delicious.
Thanks for this video! Where do you get seaweed flakes? Thanks!
It’s been a month since you did a Amazing video. When will you make another one? Still lots of foods to cover!
That B12 joke was really funny hahahaha. Thanks for another amazing video and always being your true self in these videos. I have learned so much from you the past year, while I was transitioning to a vegan diet. GO Derek!
at 13:25 you say that “cruciferous vegetables are “gorchoganic” foods.” I’m trying to research about “gorchoganic” foods but cant find anything? Does anyone know the correct spelling for the word? thanks!
Thanks again I am learning so much new info from your channel Derek. Additionally the oil free sauces you make are fantastic. I now love to eat greens because of the tasty sauce,
You can also ferment bok choi into kim chi, thats very healthy!
fucking delicious. Asians eat it all the time. Great video. Good work.
The best I must try first time watching what did you said about tyrod what is in it not good for tyrod because my husband and my self has tyrod problem
While a vegan diet is very advisable, there is a lot of flimsy advice here. In other countries you would have gotten reprimanded for making dietary advice on thin scientific ground.
Simnett Nutrition tee shirt idea: cute little bok choy character that’s smiling with the phrase, “bring up the bok choy”, under it! ❤️
Oh wow so that’s why Asians are so yellow.. We eat a lot of bok choy haha haha
Trump must eat wayyyyy too much Beta-Carotene! No wonder he’s so orange! hahahaaa
Thank you for bok choy info! I never liked it before but recently tried it in vegan pho and it was good funny how tastes change
I love this video great explanation of bok choy and its health benefits
I eat bok choy all the time. Us asians have way more vegetables and foods you westerners have never seen.
what is a good peanut butter alternative? it has high AGEs and acrylamides
Just made this recipe and it is so delicious. I made it with white bean instead of tofu.
Thanks for showing us how to cook book choy. Never made it before because I didn’t know how
Wow, I didn’t know it was so good for me. I am going to eat more of it.
My doggy, keep up the good work. This is a superb video series. You have made a fan for life, I will never forget what you have done for me today.
I’ve always been a little intimidated by BokChoy and I have no idea why. After watching this I went out and bought some. It’s on the menu for my wife and I’s next dinner. Thanks for the recipe Derek! Your sauces are always on point and such an inspiration to create in the kitchen. I love your style brother, never stop making content for us
Thank u so much Derek… The sauce is amazzzzing… Very informative video.. Like always
could you do a full day of eating cutting? or what would you do as a vegan cutting on 2000kcal what should be staples?
I don’t understand why oxalates are bad. Can you make a video on that subject?
Awesome! great information explained very well.
interesting that in Canada you guys don’t really see Bok Choy used very much! Here in Australia its super common, and i think I’ve been eating it weekly for about 25 years! how good is it?!!
I like the educational content videos with recipes. I’m 100% vegan for 2 months now and rely on new recipes:) thank you
I can honestly say it’s been a year and a half ago since I’ve transitioned into a plant-based vegan lifestyle. I totally love it. And I now have started documenting my journey and growth on my YouTube channel. It would mean the world to me for you to share your love and support for my content. Thanks. Have a blessed day.
Hey Tyler, can you do a video on foods that boost metabolism?
Awesome video. Need to add to my shopping list. I’m a vitamix fan but just ordered a smaller blender. Thanks for everything.
People also do not cook with lettuce and other bland(flavorless scentless) ingredients. Good try, you look like you take cooking seriously.
Love you man. Thanks for introducing bok Choy. Always see it public and never touched it.
I made this dish with the sauce for me and my husband for dinner today. Oh my gosh, I can’t tell you how much we loved it! The only tweaks I did are as follows: adding mushrooms and garlic to the stir fry and leaving the garlic out of the sauce. We prefer garlic cooked, so I did it that way. Anyway, the meal was so amazing. It will now be one of our go-to favorites. Thanks for all your cool recipes and tips for those of us working on eating whole foods and lots of plants. You and Crystal are great!
Looking at that oxilate chart was a little disturbing. How are my kidneys not pure calcium by now? Lol
Is it true that too much can negatively impact your thyroid?
I just drank a smoothie with bok choy, bitter melon and celery some salt and spices. My Nutribullet did a fine job.
Found your channel, and love this first video I watched. Helps that you’re easy on the eyes too. Nice content!
I wanted to share a funny story about fingers turning yellow-orange. I started my vegan diet in part to help combat a fatty liver and slightly high cholesterol. Shortly after starting this diet my finger tips, nails, and cuticles started turning yellow which was pretty concerning to me with the fatty liver. Eventually I realized it was caused from a new ingredient that I was using, turmeric!
What ix this plant named in spanish? Anyone can reply???Thanks
It’s the first I buy it, I will cook it now, I think its good for loosing weight
My mom grows it for me in Cape Town. It grows like a weed! Awesome in a stir fry
Yes it is true…it is now more than a week, that i’m eating bokchoy with chicken..for many years i am taking pills for my high blood presure, before going to bed..lately,i go to bed and falling asleep imediately, and waking up 5:00 am without taking the pills..i took Norvas for my high blood presure, every 24 hours, and after eating bochoy for more than a week, i am taking it now every 32 hours not 24 anymore So it works… Bochoy helps to decrease the stress and lowering the blood presure.
