I have done jiu jitsu for 12 years and a lot of our folks do yoga but I had never tried it until I did this workout! First timer. As someone that has had back surgery this was perfect, thank you! I look forward to doing more.

I have a suggestion: when clasping the hands behind you back, you can use a yoga belt or other type of belt instead of clasping the hands.. I use this because I have an injured shoulder, so my range of motion is more limited. Hope this helps!

I am unable to do exercises that require me to stand because I have severe arthritis as well as Pseudo-Tumor Cerebri (which increases the spinal fluid around the brain and spine) so it impacts my ability to stand and walk. These exercises help to make me feel so much better and are helping me increase my strength in my core and upper body. Thank you, thank you, thank you for what you do.

I’ve done both. The only time I do Tabata is if i relaxed my body for a couple of days and I want to go hard. HIIT I do once or twice, then I low impact workouts.

Tabata = Maximum Effort. If you don’t feel like your going to drop to the ground and weep, you haven’t hit your maximum yet. As a heads up: you better warm up your heart before to jump in or you will feel like dying.

There’s no strength benefit with the squat using the GTS because there’s no resistance except for a percentage of body weight.

At the beginning, I was doubtful about this class but ended up loving it! Worked up a great heat while being fluid with the body. Also created a heightened sense of body awareness.
I do this workout a few years ago, before I develop rheumatoid artritis. I really wanna do this again

Guys I don’t know if you are having same problem as me, but maybe someone can give me an advice. What are you doing in between exercises like in this video, when Juliana takes quite a lot of time to explain and show variations of exercises? You just standing and waiting when she finishes and do 30 sec or if you know the next exercise already, you start doing it while she still talking? Because I feel like if I stay and wait, I lose my speed and the effectiveness of workout, I don’t feel the burn, but if I start doing while she is talking, I get too tired and cannot finish the sequence… This way I most likely avoid workouts like this because of too much talking and pauses…. Anyone can help…. Lots of love:)

well this makes sense u can raise the bench but all their other gyms sets all make u lay down even if u sit up it’s uncomfortable. they should all allow u to raise the bench in a seated position. just another low ball scam to get u to buy the more expensive total gym product

Hi, Jessica! I’ve been using your workouts for a while now, and they work amazing for me (Thank you!!). Over the past two years I’ve gone through a dramatic weight change (losing weight) and I was really happy where my body was at. Then about three months ago, even though I didn’t feel like I had changed anything (but I must have), I started gaining it back without noticing (like a LOT of it). I’ve worked to a sort of equilibrium and now I’m trying to go back down, but do you have any tips for how to stop this from happening? (The gaining weight back without noticing.)
I’m waiting for the 90% off sale to buy that TG. Lol.
For now I’ll stick with my 1400.

I’m so glad you gave the pros and cons of each and some loose guidelines for the different types of cardio. I’m a “recovering perfectionist” and extremely hard on myself, so I would normally think “push, push, push” all the time. I’m learning to back off from that because of you! Thank you for your common sense and balanced approach to fitness.

I have been wondering lately, is it better to take a break during a workout so you can finish the reps or should you keep going and do less? I find if I take a break, the burn subsides enough that I can finish, but am I losing some of the benefit of the exercise?

The inverted shoulder press which you have to do on this 4000 dollar unit with your head down is a terrible bad exercise. Just forget doing that on this machine.
Great machine but the tablet that comes with it has tons of issues and you can ONLY use the fusion app with that tablet, I would not buy this machine based on the frustrations with the sub par tablet. I’v had the machine for over a year.

First of all, your exercises are truly the best there is. I love how my body feels after . Couple of weeks ago I did this really good quick cardio workout. It was few years old and if I remember correctly you were doing the workout on sand or on small sand dunes. If you have any idea which workout I mean is it possible to find it somewhere? It was such a good workout to warm up the body.

I have the Fusion CT pro version of this and it is incredible. I now have this and the Hydrow and together they provide everything I need. I was wounded overseas as a US Marine and had been struggling to maintain fitness with free weights due to a weird thing to do minor spinal cord thing where my right ankle/foot doesn’t work 100% properlyFor example, I can’t do toe raises and I have a slight limp. That limits me with free weights because of balance. Anyhow, It is fun the classes are engaging and because you can tailor the resistance to your needsI see comments asking for the weight equivalentIt is hard to determine because the magnetic resistance is hard to translate over to weightsWhile it feels the same as a machine that uses plates it is much smoother so I’d say max weight is around 200 lbs. That may not sound like a lot but it isThis machine alone won’t get you to Mr Olympus competition standards but if you work at it you can build yourself in to a truly physically fit person. Due to the type of hi op tempo unit that I was in as a Marine I was in incredible shapethink extreme endurance, stamina, flexibility. his machine has gotten me back to being as close to that as I can with the limitations from my injuries where it took many surgeriesThankfully I have all my limbs and the a few bullet holes are scars are cool chicks dig em (kidding) It really is a good and interesting way to work out my wife did Orange theory, Barry’s Bootcamp etc religiously sometimes twice a day before and after work and she has completely shifted over to using this and the hydrow. It really is good I am a believer.
I’ll bet you the Tonal is better and their customer service reputation in 1000x better than NordicTrack. I love my Tonal.
Thank you for explaining this topic! I used to think I could or should be doing these types of work outs many times a week because I felt they helped loose weight faster. But the down side was that my body needed more recovery time and the next days I really was too exhausted to exercise so it was hard to keep motivated and on track. I think this also contributed to my adrenal fatigue a bit. I love HIIT and how great I feel after but I prefer exercising every day and getting those endorphins in on the regular. By the time my muscles were ready to work out again, I had lost my motivation or was already fallen into what feels like gloominess to start up again.. & if I didn’t wait to recover well, I would get injured and then I really couldn’t work out. Now I exercise at from 10 minutes to about and hour a day and look for variety in workouts to keep me from getting bored and stay motivated. At the end of the day, I am just proud I got my body moving and I know when I do tabata or HIIT i’ll have more endurance and strength and hearing from you that It is best to do them only a couple times a week if necessary makes me feel more releived!

thank you for the information! i have tried tabata workouts in the past and foud them exhausting. it took me days to recover! i prefer more mild exercise routines which make you feel more energized afterwards! LOL from Greece!!!!

Great video. I just purchased a Total Gym Fit Plus on QVC over the week-end. It’s not as heavy duty machine as this one, but I hope I can still perform the majority of these strength building exercises on that gym. My glideboard doesn’t raise flat like this one when at an angle.
I really like your workouts but I find the way you explain through them confusing and find myself checking the screen every second so I can properly follow along. When you say “aaaaaand” like that it seems like you’ve finished, but sometimes it’s just to say there’s only some seconds left, or maybe you give a directon for some movement you have already done and it gets confusing as you are focusing on following along

I have begin my journey to have a better relationship with my body and food, when i first try your videos it was like a guilty pleasure in my workout routine, i just love yoga but i was like ok i need to lose weight so i have to do things like running, fitness and eat salads and as a reward yoga.
But i ended up doing your videos and lose weight without anything more than that and healthy food so thank you, i feel so much better doing something i love. It just help so much more, i have lose weight and i continue to this journey you contribute to make beautiful.

I’m over 40 and my workout does not cost a dime. I walk my dog and I go for a jog at the park in my neighborhood and do two sets of pushups, situps, squats and jumping jacks at home. Simple but effective.
Are thos additional parts interchangeable with all total gyms? If not where can we purchase the.? What are the names of the additional parts?

Personally I couldn’t focus on 30 sec exercises as Julia was constantly talking, is there any chance after you explain the exercises play some music for next 30 sec? I understand the idea of explaining and appreciate a lot but to count the second and you almost there, breath, keep going, don’t stop… it’s not really encouraging.
