It’s not justifying when you eat unhealthy stuff but giving yourself freedom of making mistakes and correcting them through an extra workout next day. I see nothing wrong with that.

I had a baby 5 months ago and I’m training to be a PT, but with sleepless nights and my bodies recovery I’ve lost the weight but not enough for me to feel happy. So I’ve decided to try a few different guides 1 to make progress, 2 to challenge myself and 3 to review them and maybe help people. I’ve watched this to see if it’s worth the money, I will definitely be wary of the Instagram side especially coming from having an eating disorder when I was younger. Thanks for the warning!

You didn’t list one single health benefit of fasting. Autopahgy, reduced insulin resistance and so many other benefits. I maintain my weight and eat OMAD for those reasons. Yes, people who don’t understand how to meal plan to get enough calories, macro/micronutrients shouldn’t be eating like this. But saying it’s unsustainable for someone like me is wrong. Also, protein timing has marginal effects when it comes to muscle growth. What matters is the total amount you eat and your training.

This is so interesting…I’ve done BBG workouts off and on, but never completed the guide. I’ve started it again…I keep coming back because I just want to complete it. It’s a huge mental thing for me. I always exercise, but I switch around a lot and always have this feeling of starting over. This time around I’ve decided to not do any jumping, just regular squats and lunges, and be GENTLE…modifying exercises if I need to. I’m not pushing myself to the point of pain or inflammation…I’m using it as a GUIDE and customizing it to what makes me feel good:). The whole point is to sweat and get stronger. I also follow a completely different diet because I have an autoimmune condition…and I want to stay med free. Her “nutrition” guide is absolute SHIT. lol.
These guys worship at the altar of Calories In Calories Out.

THIS. i can 100% relate. i remember doing the guide over and over & eating perfect 24/7 and it was soooo unsustainable. and i legit didn’t eat ice cream either for 3 months…. hahaha it was insane

I’m a Registered Nurse and when you described how you feel when your heart rate is elevated (as though you’re gonna die), that’s just not how one should describe feeling with an elevated heart rate, unless it’s under a high stress situation. By high stress I most certainly don’t mean exercise, lol!!
Since I’m now an old bat, I can’t guess how old you are, but I know you’re really young.
Please tell your doctor about this symptom!! It may be nothing, but it could be something and women having cardiac issues are overlooked more than any of the other things we’re overlooked on! Please don’t ignore this! As I said, it may well be nothing, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry!

It interesting how the fitness community has evolved. I never did her workouts, but similar type workouts. aka LOTS of cardio. I enjoy incorporating more weights.

I’ve done BBG before too but never really made it past week 12… it is definitely high intensity and good, but i have to say that weight training is WAY better in my opinion!side note, UHM you are SO gorgeous girl! Cool video! I would’ve liked it better if at the beginning and end, they completed a fitness test so we could see any improvement in their cardiovascular fitness, strength, etc as part of the “numbers” at the end
LOL I always mumble her last name when pronouncing it to others… so funny that the pronunciation video has so many views! Some of my friends have done the program and didn’t like it much. I rather go to the gym and do weights or a cardio class (which I definitely need to start doing) but AGREED she markets herself SO well.

Keto calorie deficit? How? Fat has 9 calories a gram. Carbs and protein 4 calories a gram. I’ve tried it. Don’t like it.

I think these results are really good and very real life relevant. You both look so much stronger! And that matters more than weight or inches lost. There is absolutely a huge difference in both of you in the after photo
Injury is a drag. I do some modifications on some of the exercises: to not get injured. Modify girls! As long as you work hard there is nothing wrong about making adjustments
I’m doing it now:I’m on my second week. I use the app I stead of the book. App works better for me personally for now. I love how challenging it is and that I can do it at home! I find the workouts are hard but I can adjust them to my body and my skills. The biggest plus is that I am able to do it anywhere. All I need is dumbells and now a jumpbox. I spent money on a jumpbox but it’s so important to the program so I decided it was a good investment. I bought one that both me and my boyfriend can use, not a bench like Kyla has because it takes too much space in our apartment. Our stainless steel 50 cm step/jump box can fulfill the needs of the program, is stable and safe so I can do my workout properly. I feel the workouts are so good and so intense that results are inevitable: that’s encouraging!
Literally I see her sponsored posts everywhere . I had to Google BBG before haha but she’s changed it to call it Sweat now. I wouldn’t do it myself but she’s done so well with her guide. So many fitness chicks have their own guides now lol. Xx

I’m sometimes doing OMAD and intermittent fasting (and keto on top of it) with great success.
I see that you are against the OMAD diet, but I feel you should have given a more researched and balanced viewpoints. You didn’t mention the benefits of having lower insulin levels which allows HGH levels to increase while you sleep. And that as your body gets used to it, your ghrelin levels will adapt and so you won’t be hungry. I agree that you must drink lots of water through the day and plan your meals though to get all the macros, micros, calories your body needs. And off course you can take a break on social occasions to eat with everyone.
BTW I’m not actually on OMAD diet but seriously looking into it or intermittent fasting, for a sustainable change.
I can see what you mean by not getting enough of your nutrients with the OMAD. Personally, I prefer the Warrior Diet (20/4). I get 2 big meals in at the beginning/end of the eating window, and feel mentally focused throughout the fasting period.
All this is relevant if you are new to the world of fasting, how ever if you being doing fasting ‘’right’’for awhile and know about nutrition and how those help in working out you can totally do it but it is an art, personally I love Omad but i think experimenting with it i ended with a protocol where I eat within 2-4 hours and yes I’m fit

Thanks for sharing your story Kallie! My impression is that you concentrated on the community and public aspect of this program way too much to the point that it let you down. I personally did this program at home without sharing any before and after photos on my social media. In fact, I didn’t take photos of my progress and I thought who should care what I do to stay healthy and in-shape really! I also never followed Kayla’s dietary advice and have always had my own healthy diet where I eat as much as I want but making sure I consume what my body needs nutrition wise.
If you think you’d have done all of these and would still be unhappy, then this is definitely not for you. I see this as a tool to motivate myself to care about my body no matter what and I don’t believe such programs will make you happy necessarily.

Love your channel though. Just think China study is bunk. Chris Masterjohn PHD is great for science behind nutrition. He did debate debunking it. He does long lectures on biochemistry but worth the watch.
The China study is bad science and ideologically driven. He used Casein with animal studies and there is huge difference between 10% animal protein and no animal protein. The Warburg hypothesis of cancer blames sugar and glucose for causing cancer not fat. Doctors now are using ketogenic diets to treat inoperable tumors because it starves the tumor of fuel to grow.
i don’t want to offend anyone but it seems like the BBG community is soooo disordered… having to justify something that makes you happy is just insane.

Some people have trouble with ketogenic diet because they don’t get enough fibre, I eat a ketogenic diet with extremely high fibre content. Recent research also indicates starch and sugar are the main cause of premature aging, along with vegetable oil due to the way it rapidly oxidizes. Humans evolved from hunters that ate huge amounts of animal fat and protein, not processed sugars and vegetable oil which if you really break in down is what modern humans are eating. I get all my sugar from berries BTW.

3:07 Why not compare caloric deficit of a keto diet with a caloric deficit of a snack cake diet (of equal calories) and see who loses more muscle lol. Snack cakes sound like something a smart ass highschool teacher would do, but no respect to what damage he did internally to his body.

Would it not be harder to be in a caloric deficit with Keto Diet, because the diet is higher in fat. And fat has higher calories per gram then protein and carbs?

Love the “Crave” I have actually been eating this way the last couple weeks and I fast 3 to 4 hrs. Its has been awesome and getting great results. I combined the fasting and carb cycling as both had negative and positive effects. So one day I decided to mix the two. Ive lost 73lbs have maintained and now looking to build that muscle. Love your videos and knowlege!
Love the breakdown of these diets. I follow the Paleo diet since I’m a female endomorph and we have issues with insulin sensitivity. My workout routine includes 3 days of HIIT, 1 day of moderate cardio and 2 days of weight training. I’d love to see a video going a bit further into detail about the crave diet

I’ve started fasting in the morning skipping breakfast. Go to work and go to the gym between 11 am and 12 pm.
No joke in a week I dropped over 5lb and now I’m observing gains.
