In my opinion both are beneficial. Free weights is good for building larger amounts of muscle more easily where as calisthenics are better for functional movement. Calisthenics is good for compound movements and full body workouts where as free weights is good at isolating a single muscle group.
Do they start hot baths and Suanas in the first day? Or on the last day.

If you want a lean physic, and can move your own body weight with ease, do calisthenics, also calisthenics can transcend to weights. Weights cannot transcend into calisthenics, for example a dude that’s completely jacked could probably barely do 5 chin ups, on the other hand a lean ripped calisthenics athlete can do 10 reps effortlessly of chin ups, overall calisthenics is better, you work multiple muscle groups at once which is why you look shredded faster, while with weights you get bulky muscles, which makes you stiff, and not agile while calisthenics does the exact opposite, and only reason why athletes can weight train is because they do agility training on top of that, you guys are only going to the gym to lift weights, when you can do push ups, at him, and invest in a 35$ dip bar and a 25$ pullup/chinup bar and get ripped

I’ve actually done all of this for about 6 months without watching this video! I did like pull-ups, planks and push-ups. In the beggining I could barely do 30 push ups but now I can do like 85 and 3 mins planks. It’s actually possible to get a lot more fit by just training at home!

I knew a few MMA fighters. To cut weight they just starved themselves and didn’t drink a lot of water till after weigh-ins. They looked sickly most of the time and said they felt just as bad.
Olympic lifting and boxing with a side portion of calisthenics for me. Speed, strength, body control, endurance, mobility all covered.

So I got hurt not too long ago from weight lifting. I was grooving too! I unfortunately pinched a nerve and couldnt walk for months. Started doing yoga to get my strength back. Started to do calisthenics instead and man I think hes right haha. Been doing this shit all quarantine and totally worth it! I’m a bigger boi too that’s just started. In my honest opinion, calisthenics is only good for building delts, triceps, chest, biceps and lats. You can only develop your legs and upper back with weights (pistol squats, Russian curls and front lever rows are not enough). This is coming from a Russian guy who does calisthenics and weight training.
I feel like at least part of this program is really poorly designed, how are you going to get an adequate training response from doing speed and stamina together when they are at opposite ends of the training spectrum and training both at the same time will blunt the training effect and get you better at neither in the end

calisthenics burns more calories compared to weight lifting. 20 min of intense body weight training is same as 1 hour in gym. if u really want to get bulked do body weight training for 20 to 30 minutes. and make sure you train 4 or 3 times a week to get bulked…

i did it and i’m a rather skinny person also not a fighter and i do not recommend, i filled up on 10 cups of water and then i made my bath as hot as possible and stayed in for 15 minutes and after that i had a pounding headache and i was super lightheaded and couldn’t even walk straight, plus i almost fainted. if you are not a fighter and do not need to cut weight as severely as they do, i highly recommend that u do NOT do it.

There are no elevators to the staffroom at my work, so I have to take the stairs regardless.
These could work but If your not calculating calories and are eating let’s say 500cal more than your maintenance caloric intake and you use these methods and ONLY burn 300 calories you are obviously not gonna lose weight because you are in a calorie surplus(eating more then you burn or more then maintenance) I like your channel so please be more specific about these things because newbs won’t know all this. Great Video However I do have a question… Is it better to spread sets and reps over the day for example for Pullups, Fron Levers,… and do for Push, belly and legs other sessions but also only 15 minutes, so you can train almost every day ( for me 5-6 days a week OR: Train 3 times a week with rather big sessions like full body workouts or Push Pull Legs and Belly so you can also train theoretically 5-6 times a week? Because I tried both but with the second I had so often soreness so I couldnt train after a workout for more than 4 days…
Walking 10-20K steps per day (5-10 miles) is literally the easiest way to get lean. Depending on how fast you walk/how much you weigh, you’ll burn 100-200 cals per mile. It requires no skill, doesn’t take a toll on the body long term, and doesn’t hamper strength gains. Strength training and lots of walking really is the most basic/effective combo there is.

Interesting because I just started gymnastics thinking my Karate training (8 hrs a week) would give me an edge and vice-versa…The first newbie gymnastics lesson seemed easy and I had awesome time but was absolutely wrecked for the next few days.
It seems martial arts is about fighting an opponent right way up and gymnastics is about fighting gravity whilst upside down….A whole different set of muscles.

Walk up four flight of stairs every day and I never thought about taking the elevator. Besides getting cardio, you’re technically doing step-ups for your quads. (I skip one step).

It doesn’t matter what you eat. If you have a calorie surplus your body will store the excess food as fat and you will gain weight. Calorie deficit and you will lose weight.

Hiit, calisthenics, planks, yoga, etc are all basically martial arts training disected into parts with fancy names. The best fat burner training sessions have always been martial arts (traditional or ufc) training because they entail whole body conditioning.

Gymnasts can look better and be bulkier depending on their focus, but the speed to make moves on an opponent and the endurance to last multiple matches in a night are too strong an advantage.
That said, there are many kinds of athlete and many specialties. Nobody has it all over anyone else in every way.

Calisthenics is strange. Burning calories during the workout is shit. What matters is the calories you use to repair the damaged muscles and weight lifting does it better. The reason people do not get ripped so well doing weightlifting is that they either do stupid bro splits or abbteviated heavy weight routines. Do high volume full body rotines and then tell me they do not burn fat well. Calisthenics is a strange beast and it has its ugly side. Personally I get water bloated from bodyweight exercises, I dont know why but it is true. The best option is to combine bodyeeight and weights. Do dips, pull ups and squats and a shitload of other oxercises with weights.

Can somebody check my program? As explained in the video, I’m going to do 4-6 sets, 8-13 reps and 1 min rest. a set contains 5 different leg exercises, 5 different ab exercises and 5 different arm exercises. I still need to think about the exact exercises, but can someone tell me whether the structure of the program is good?

If you want efficient, explosive power than do calesthetics and circuit training exercises. If you just want to get blown up and be able to lift really heavy stuff and not be able to do much else than do body building.
Do we start or end the muscle group or workout with this type of isometric? I know there’s an athlean x video from years ago advocating a normal isometric focusing on the middle or upper portion ROM for warming up before doing your actual first set but with this starting at the lower/starting position would we still use this type of isometric as a warmup or finisher? I would think finisher since you’re in the more vulnerable ROM and the muscles wouldn’t be warmed up yet, or maybe it is still used as a warmup since it’s still iso…Would be awesome for Jeff to respond but on the likely chance that isn’t the case I would like to hear others thoughts on this as well.

This video is full of excuses used by pussies, in my opinion.
Problem 1): cooking so you can’t find time to cook for yourself, but you’ve got time for listening music, watching TV, chatting on the phone, surfing the web, etc.? Alright, then you know where YOUR PRIORITIES ARE, and health + strength aren’t one of them.
Of course you’ve got to cook your own food! That doesn’t mean that it can’t be done in a planned and efficient way. If you think back at your ancestors, who had to hunt to get the food, while you have to go to the store and just buy it, but you’re lazy even to cook it? Quit bitching! 😉
Problem 2): cheating there are hundreds of articles on how to incorporate cheat meals in your diet; stop making excuses. If your cheating meals lead to an infinite binge each time, then your diet is messed up anyway, and your focus is totally off the goals anyway, so don’t even bother.
Problem 3): healthy food tastes like sh*t yeah, after your taste buds have been f*cked up by artificial flavors; I know this from experience, that back in the days I used to eat dirty and a lot of artificial stuff, vegetables tasted TO ME like sh*t; now that I eat clean, broccoli is one of the most delicious foods that exist! It goes for any food, really.
If healthy food makes you puke, then your diet is either crap, or your taste buds are messed up, or you simply don’t know how to prepare delicious and nutritious food.
Bulk on calisthenics = big strength gains ur doing the same exercises with more weight on you making you stronger so when you cut calisthenics will be more easier

You can lose 30 pounds in 5 days, but it wont be fat. A lot of it is food and water weight, which is put back on after weight in after days of dehydration and little to no eating.

Basically drink tons of water during training camp. Then decrease your water intake a few days before the fight whilst avoiding the classic unhealthy foods and go for saunas etc.

Calisthenics make you ripped with decent muscle mass, while heavy lifting in the gym just makes you huge with little or no definition. Everyone can lift weights, even people who are out of shape. If you want to do calisthenics, you must have athletic, lean body. Calisthenics will give you chiseled body, weight lifting won’t.

Calisthenics people are usually leaner because its something they have always been naturally able to do. People that are overweight or carry more mass can not naturally do calesthintics because the amount of strength they need to gain to lift themselves would take years to gain.
The sweat doesn’t matter tho, it’s just water from the body, it’s not the fat being burned.
I like doing both, because you get the benefits from both

My results won’t be the same as yours due to age, and genetics and other factors, but still you are giving out a wealth of information and new ideas which one can incorporate (not all of what you do but some:-)) Not sure why those factors aren’t ever mentioned in these videos because i’m quite certain they play a big part in one’s overall progress. I can try to be like you & incorporate what you say to eat and to do to the letter, but in the end I won’t be your twin (smile)…

Going to start doing more calisthenics… my upper two abs and my obliques pretty much are always visible, even when I get up around 25% or so BF, but, the other ones are so much more stubborn. Plus would just be really nice to be able to move in more varied ways.

The less you weigh the easier calisthenics will be, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re strong. A pull up is easy when you’re 30 pounds under weight.
Sort of like how in the opposite way benching 200 pounds is a lot easier if you weigh 250 but that doesn’t necessarily make you fit especially if you have extensive body fat.
If you only want to limit yourself to one thing that’s fine but understand you will have weaknesses and imbalances that will develop.
Eating right is the only way to get ripped.
Even if you have the best workout routine that was created by the gods, it won’t help you if you eat Mcdonalds 5 times a day lol.

This is do to you’re actually have to stabilize the body through movement through space. Weights are usually stabilized by the equipment.
