On the other hand, boutique fitness classes are often ridiculously expensive, often ranging from $20 to $40 for a single class. Do that three times a week, and you’re looking at spending thousands of dollars a year on your workout habit. The truth is, boutique gyms aren’t cheap to run.
On average, boutique studio members pay more than $100 a month, whereas at traditional gyms, less than 10 percent pay more than $75.An increasing number of boutique fitness studios are opening in cities across the world to cater for millennials’ insatiable appetite for stylish ways to keep fit. At an average of $34 a class, paying a visit to these studios isn’t cheap, yet people are willing to invest.Today, there’s another equally viable option to throw into the mix: boutique fitness class.
The current workout scene is a far cry from the scenario you would have described not even 10 years ago (re: baggy T-shirts and old gym shoes pounding the treadmill in a massive, television-filled gym). This theory is currently driving the boutique fitness movement. When I did the math, I knew I had to go at least five times a week to get the per-visit cost low enough to.now, the four gyms in new mexico are still closed owner, lorraine higgins, also says it’s too expensive for her to open them up. higgins maintains smaller, boutique studios are cleaner and safer.Gyms take a lot of abuse and going cheap on flooring will cost you more in the long run when you have to replace it.
Buying used machines may be less expensive at the time, but you’ll sacrifice access to the full manufacturer’s warranty coverage, as well as up-to-date technology to best serve your members. Don’t surprise your neighbors.Recent research from New York based firm Dstillery found that your gym must be either really close or really nice in order for you to use it on a regular basis. Using analysis from 7.5 million.
A boutique fitness studio is generally viewed as a small gym (800 3500 square feet) that focuses on group exercise and specializes in one or two fitness areas. One of the most remarkable aspects of boutiques is their premium price tag.Britons are being put off exercising regularly by the high cost of gyms and leisure centres, research suggests.
A third of people of all ages think they are too expensive, rising to 42 per cent. But at up to $35 a class, boutique fitness can get expensive, even after just a few sessions. The average amount spent on such classes, according to the IHRSA, is between $80 and $140 a month.
Nationwide, the average monthly gym membership is about $40. Being budget conscious doesn’t mean you have to cut out your favorite fitness classes.A boutique fitness studio is usually smaller than a gym, may offer less of a variety of classes, and can be more expensive than a gym membership. So, you may be wondering why so many people have been choosing small studios over gyms lately.
Thriving fitness studios charge premium prices. Get insight into the what else these studios are doing to create success for themselves in our Annual Boutique Fitness Benchmark Report.. Guest Post Written by Stephen Tharrett, Owner of Club Industry Consulting.
Many boutique fitness studios charge more than $30 a class, but does opening your wallet wider give you better results?David Barton Gym, known for its nightclub aesthetic, has partnered with indoor cycling chain Cyc so that its members can go to boutique classes at a cheaper rate.

A side note that I forgot to say in the video: If you are price gouging, expect to get messages from people calling you out and friends remembering when you did so. You can’t have the good without the bad in this case. It’s part of the game you’re choosing to play.
Offer up Facebook market place and craigslist all weights are being charged at 2.00 per pound.
Guys stay positive, once covid is over and folks go back to the gym, think of all the second hand weights and equipment for sale, there’s going to be a massive supply and little demand
Don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining. At 150 a month It is expensive.
Fringe sports is the one company I noticed increase their prices in the last 6 months. We will remember this, but who goes to them for quality equipment?
Haters gonna hate. Some people cant see a good thing in front of them. Lots of people would love to train with you for that price.
Hey Coop, I appreciate you keeping it real. I could have bought gym equipment before the quarantine, unfortunately, I put it off. I miss the weights, but I’m looking for creative ways to stay in shape. The price gouging is terrible, but understandable. Reputable companies like Rogue and Brute Force have excellent sandbag equipment at reasonable prices. I look forward learning and adapting to a new workout regimen.
Body weight is good for getting a workout. Pushups, pull-ups, crunches/sit ups, squats with ur girlfriend on ur back…there’s always a way but you’re absolutely right we all want..key word is want equipment..economics taught that people have insatiable wants..this is just one of those “wants” that people are capitalizing on..
I paid $330 for a pair of rubber hex 70’s and now someone is selling them for $1.50 on offer up
A few years ago, I bought a treadmill and elliptical and spent a total of little over $1k on both. Put them in my game room area, and I get a decent workout while watching something on TV.
Pricey upfront cost, but I figured that the investment paid off by now when you factor in gas money and membership costs.
i agree with you, ppl can charge what they ant, but i aint payin it. i got my rings and im saving my money for the flood of equipment
stay patient and be diligent, you can design an awesome gym because you can re-sell as you design…you just have to keep track of when major retailers have things in stock….you can make a killing by flipping and purchase better stuff
The lady appears to be little irresponsible. Saw her risking her baby jumping around playing basketball. 6:07
Dumbass. The supply is low because greedy people bought it all up with the intent to price gouge.
I hate this, I maxed out my deadlift like 2 months ago I can’t find weights ANYWHERE
Well thanks to these assholes, I can finally do pushups without too much effort
Let’s just tell the nfl you dont need gym equipment to get strong. Who else here is tired of doing nothing but pushups for a chest workout.
This privileged white man has equipment. Imagine what his opinion would be if he didn’t have what he does.
We might as well just ride our bikes to work since driving a car is such a luxury.
This is a great channel, and some (ok, quite a few) of the videos have been a real eye-opener. Thank you.
I love this point, it’s logical and at least in my eyes pretty objective.
What’s your business plan look like that’s what I’m working on now
Racks and such can be made of 4×4 posts, or get into metal work as a hobby as they’r all basic tubing you would find at any. metal distributor.
Someone literally stole my dumbells outta the backyard earlier this year. Guess I ll have to stick with pushups and pullups.
I saw a squat rack that used to be $169 now going for $320. I’ll just wait it out. The name of the game is: Patience
nice! crossfit simply brings more value than a gym. so you have to pay more. period
I’m a college student and i want to do the same thing coming out of college only question I have is how did you go about starting your supplement company?
Unfortunately we have a country full of people with no understanding of economics
I’m a potter and ceramic artist. I bend over a wheel a lot of hours a week, so after gyms were closed for a while I said it’s time for home gym. Met the dumbell outage of 2020. Did I buy? No. I’ve been watching clay hobbyists, 1 time class attendees etc flaunt on Facebook that they bought full clay studios worth of new equipment they don’t know how to use, all upwards of $2k. My first thought was I can’t wait for them to get back to work. In the meantime I’ll wedge my clay by hand to help with exercise I’m missing. Beleive me tho I’ll soon drop $500 to buy a hardly used $4000 clay mixer with an air vaccum and extruder still in warranty. I’ll have plenty of money left to lift the wheel up on steel instead of blocks so my back is straight and the studio looks clean.
Dude, you looked a bit scared at the beginning of the video. Calculating budgets is one thing. Actually spending money is a whole otherlevel. Congratulations on getting your gym started and I hope you experience continued success.
all of yall people who are waiting for corona virus to go away…. i hope you are patient. 2021 to 2022 is the best case while us never finding a cure is worst case. heck, we still dont have a solution for hiv
I’m currently building my home gym for the simple reason that I don’t forsee gyms getting anywhere close to back to normal for a long time.
They’re currently open with a 20 person limit and the necessity of pre-booking. As a first responder and shift worker that just doesn’t work for me. We also have a second lock down coming.
Prices are up but aren’t as crazy here as they are in the USA. But to me it’s a long term investment.
Has anyone checked out Crane Fitness Equipment in Clarksville, TN?
Does anyone have any suggestions where I can buy a 20lb dumbbell for a good price
If all people are gonna do is use the treadmill in a gym your just throwing money away since your wasting hundreds yearly when you can just run and walk for free outside!
I see a lot of these companies going under after the dust settles. Huge demand will dry up and the market will be saturated as others have said. Second order effects are gyms taking a hit as people don’t go back. I won’t keep my membership as the only thing the gym has I don’t is a pool at this point.
As to people selling at 3x+? No one is forcing anyone to buy it as coop says. I waited and paid a bit more for shipping than I would have otherwise but got what I wanted over the course of a month.
people shouldn’t pay for this crossshit garbage. No gains injuries recommended.

$10,000 gym but doesn’t have free weight bench press ♂️
wait so he spent 100k a month and the gym isnt opened? what? i wonder why nick didnt keep the gym open long enough for it to break even
P.s. I’m the type of person who once my mind is set on something I NEED to have it, I’m trying not to budge on buying overpriced stuff but de pinga it’s hard.
Well it’s 2020 and you want to join a gym…….lolololol
The issue I have with CrossFit gyms are the ones in major cities but they charge almost 260 on average
No one complains when biz sells overstocks and discontinued or have the Black Friday sale. Sometimes up, sometimes down. It’s called “free enterprise”. Maybe you prefer communism/socialism?!
I had someone on letgo try to sell me a $250 Amazon power rack for $500 and his post talkimg about dont low ball me its brand new lol
Or just do a garage gym…a lot upfront, but well worth in the long run. My local crossfit gym was insanely expensive and the programs were gated so you could not even touch the weights until 2 months in.
I was a gym rat for 20 years. I definitely got my money’s worth. I built a home gym and never looked back. Absolutely love my home gym. It paid for itself after a year.
As someone who dedicated my life to training, I hope you, at some point have to go without something you need for your mental wellbeing and cant get it. I really really hope things come crashing down around you.
In most cases things are only worth what people are willing to pay for them. If someone is price gouging but his/her items still sell…..then I guess it was worth it to someone. If no one bought….then they would have to lower the price down until it sold. The market (buyers) ultimately determine the value.
I totally agree. If you overprice essential goods you are a piece of shit. But when it’s a luxury, something people doesnt need to live, then whatever. Attack the people who tried selling toilet paper, desinfectant, face masks, and things like this for 10x the price, those are the people you don’t want in your society.
Gym equipment is so expensive and I am afraid we have had to make and make do with. However, when this equipment comes on the market I can only hope we have the sense to grab it.
Agree largely but I do want to point out two things:
1. There’s a difference between simply increasing prices and price-gouging
Of course you have the right to sell for whatever amount you want, and hell, I can understand trying to maximise profits. And yea, it is a luxury good (in my opinion), but it doesn’t make you look like any less of an opportunistic dick. But you know what? I don’t know the story behind each seller, so I won’t judge. But I can understand the anger because it factors into;
2. The emotional investment people have made when it comes to fitness
The way I see it, it’s kind of like the Game of Thrones series. Right or wrong, people invested heavily in the story, only to get screwed over in the end.
Hell, imagine following a series for years, and suddenly just before the final season is out, you’re told that you have to spend 30 bucks extra to watch it.
It’s not a lot of money, but it feels wrong, you know?
Like you’re being taken advantage of.
I used to hit the gym regularly, and for me, a mere month of being away can result in my hammer curl dropping from 30-35KG per arm all the way down 20KG.
So when the lockdown hit and I searched for dumbbells, it got really frustrating to see them going for such a high cost.
At my place, I can’t even do pull-ups, there just isn’t an option.
So yea, I’m adapting by working out however I can, but I do get the frustration which builds up over time, especially when you’re crammed in an apartment.
Price gouging is scumbaggery. You want to make money buying low and selling high, thats what the stock market is for. And if you are any good at it, you get to be a millionaire.
1:46 “it’s a beautiful thing… a lot of people are getting a small taste of the home gym community” Yeah, how beautiful that you get to profit from global pandemic destroying people’s livelihoods and society at large. What an asshat
I spotted a seller on eBay selling elliptical trainers for more than double the price. They’ve bulk bought from Argos. The original price was £89, £109 and £100. They are selling al three models for £220-240. I reported for price gouging but eBay have done nothing.
I don’t think anybody in their right mind would pay the prices these idiots want for them.
I think this whole Covid quarantine made people appreciate things they took for granted.
I like how you’ll never see Christian Guzman talking about how much it cost him to open his gym. Further proof his mom and dad helped him
Ummm I believe most states in the U.S. during the pandemic made it illegal to price gouge. Also fake weights are on the rise. My buddy brought 45 pounds plates. He thought something was up when lifting. So he weigh each plates. Well one plate was close 10 pounds off. I just image the muscle imbalance people will get.
Bought a home gym due to COVID and will never go back to a commercial gym. Just got the basics power rack, barbell, bench, and plates and plan to upgrade once people start selling all their stuff!
the dislikes on this video are the people who cant find equipment to use
Clint you make a solid point……”This is MY Gym”. I’d have to say that 10 euros a session is undercutting yourself! I’ve paid for your programming and knowledge for 6 months. The growth and knowledge I’ve gained was a steal!!! Thanks for all you did bringing me out of a funk and guiding me to where I am today in my training. That person is a fool and he is missing out on an opportunity of a lifetime.
I think it’s safe to say, this guy is not a finance expert, and he’s just really trying to sell Crossfit. Anyone can rationalize anything to make it sound the price you’re paying for is worth it, but it doesn’t mean it is worth it. I would really like to go to a Crossfit gym again, but the last two boxes I went to was awful. I didn’t get treated right, it felt like just another “globo” gym, there was no sense of community (unless you’re friends with the owners and trainers), I never got an introduction class or thought how to do anything, even though I told them I have never done Crossfit before. No guidance. For me that’s not worth paying $175 a month. I can get treatment like that at 24 hours fitness or others for much less.
Lol, the only reason CF is so expensive ’cause sheep minded dumbasses are willing to pay for it.
people who “price gouge” on sites MENT for USED items at a SLIGHTLY DISCOUNTED PRICE (due to said item being used) are a special kind of POS!
I saw a treadmill go from 289 to 650 on amazon smh. It’s a cheap treadmill with ok reviews
Eh supply and demand is only one view. If you have family, friends or clients looking to buy would you say it’s acceptable to do so even if it’s price gouging? I see this as an overvalued stock, right now you’re investing money you will never make back because an event like this won’t hopefully happen again and you would have paid 300-700% Maybe more for something used.
I’m gonna have a bomb-ass home gym on the cheap after Covid is over rubs hands
I agree with you 1 million percent on all points.
From a personal perspective, the move to working out at home and lack of equipment supply has turned me on to new methods of training that I had previously ignored. (e.g. resistance bands, body weight, and light dumbbells) It’s also afforded me to try out some bronze and silver era bodybuilding and strongman techniques that I put off for many years.
As a side note, my limit on price is $2.50/lb and I have been lucky enough to pick up a plate or dumbbell from a retail store for that price. This has kept me clear of people on ebay not only want upwards of $10/lb but will also gouge on shipping expense.
Reputable firms and people who are in it for the long term don’t price gouge.
My barbell literally broke last week and I need a new one ASAP☹️
I bought about 100 pounds now. Honestly that’s all I need to get started. As prices go down and I get stronger, I can buy more in the future. My bench, power rack and weight tree are DIY from 4by4’s. There’s lots of videos how to make this stuff
Ya, definitely artificially raising the demand for something and then selling it for double is ethical and okay. And then immediately returning (or just saying it came defective) if it doesn’t sell is hurting the businesses who are putting in the actual work to design it, get it here, market it and and sell it.
I was working on slowly building up a home gym starting last summer, and boy I’m glad I did. I picked up a ton of stuff on Amazon, FB Marketplace, and Craigslist. Everyone freaking out about gyms being closed, but I have been all set. I AM looking forward to the prices of everything plummeting.
The problem is that people are selling crappy equipment to uneducated buyers at inflated prices. I know that it should be on the buyer to know what they are buying, but it is taking advantage of someone to sell them cheap equipment at inflated prices that will fall apart and isn’t going to help the person in the long run and might even injure them. One example is a cheap, unstable squat rack.
The prices are going to drop and I’m waiting
In market for another kettlebell and have time
Don’t know where you live, but here in Massapequa New York people are trying to sell off their equipment like crazy cheap!
Everywhere
While this isn’t as bad as people who are price-gouging on essentials or Martin Shkreli, the “pharma bro” who raised the price of Daraprim by 5,000%, I still think these sellers are greedy and disgusting. As Coop says, gym equipment is luxury goods, but I think it is wrong to take advantage of people, especially if what is being sold is cheap, crappy gear. I can see how an Eleiko barbell or a Rogue power cage in great condition might command a premium price, but trying to sell an old, rusty 40 lb. dumbbell for $200 or a cheap, rickety squat rack for $500 is ridiculous. One guy was boasting on a forum that he sold his cheap barbell that he said wasn’t even worth $50 for $250. The guy who bought it obviously didn’t know what he was buying and will be lucky if he can sell it for $50 when this is over. There will be a lot of cheap equipment available when this is over from closed gyms and people who have decided that a home gym is not for them. I am fortunate that I have had pretty much everything I need for a while now, but I feel sorry for people like my daughter who is trying to put together a home gym at an affordable price. I gave her a couple of 45 lb. plates and an extra pair of 20 lb. dumbbells, and she bought a few other new items for a little bit more than they were worth, but I told her to wait if she could and not pay any exorbitant prices. If people refuse to buy from greedy sellers, they will be forced to lower prices.
December when they have all this gym equipment and need money for toys here I come mr. lowballer
Bought a fishing (100 dollars) reel traded /sold up (over months of getting progressively more expensive goods ) ended up with 600 in my hand. There will always be Someone who’s gonna buy anything at any price
Gym equipment is the new toilet paper. Unfortunately, it’s a matter of supply and demand. If people are stupid and okay with paying a scammer’s price, they have the right to do so. No one is putting a gun to their head to buy. That is on them. By doing so, those purchasing at crazy pricing say it’s okay by doing the deal. It doesn’t make it right (and I am not condoning what the scammers do) but it takes two to tango. This is a moral issue that I am not in favor of. If people refuse to pay scammer’s prices, pricing comes down. Basic economics states that everything that goes up will eventually come down. Gym equipment (should not be) life and death must haves like food, shelter and clothing. I will be waiting until fall to start purchasing at the earliest. Gym equipment for most (including myself) is a want, not a need. I have more than enough gym equipment to use for now. I would like a nice rubber hex dumbbell set but am not prepared to spend 200% 400% more when I can wait it out and get the same set for pennies on the dollar a few months from now. You don’t need gym equipment to get ripped, shredded and swole. You can get crazy fit just doing body weight exercises with dialed in nutrition. There are still reputable companies out there (Rogue, Fray Fitness, Rep Fitness, Titan Fitness, Concept 2, etc.,) selling equipment at standard, non-exaggerated pricing if you are willing to get on a waiting list for a month or two. Nothing lasts forever and this too shall pass. It just depends, are you are willing to wait or get burned in the financial fire of scammers? It’s your choice. There will be a special place in HELL for these BOTTOM FEEDER SCAMMERS!
So much respect for this guy, just don’t turn into those idiots who vlog bout the shoes they bought… defs subbed
Patience is a virtue. Totally agree wrt the blowback on companies that may raise prices. Even beyond price-gouging, companies that string you along for shipping, etc. Like you (Seth) said, “People don’t forget…”
I would love to combine all 3 into one amazing gym. I love that the first gym was eco conscious, I love the atmosphere, Art Deco aesthetic, and features of LAAC, but I liked the marriage of fitness and medicine at La Palestra. At the end of the day, fitness and health are what you put into it.
My goal in life is to be able to open a gym but i dont know how to hell im ever gonna be able to have enough money to start one
Anybody that deprives themselves of a mortgage payment every month for a gym membership needs a mental evaluation!!!
Protein shake, meat, nutrients and Fruits also cost much.
I do have a problem with people price gouging essentials during a crisis but I do acknowledge a little less sympathy for those meatheads who think they can,t get by on body weight exercises and cardio for 5-6 months. That said, I still hate the people buying up gear just to resell it at a significant mark up; major difference from someone clearing out old equipment when the market is hot, as it is now. I went to buy a bowflex adjustable bench as an interim solution at a local Canadian Tire ( think Canada’s Dick’s Sporting Goods and Walmart) until iron master or something similar was back on the market. Saw it in the purchased online order section of the customer service area as I walked in; last one left. By the time I got home and checked Kijiji that person had it listed on Kijiji for $150 more than purchase price, before they even picked it up. These are the people I cannot stand. Glad I built my gym pre-covid crap.
I run and use the pull up bars at the park. Free. And Calisthenics is better for the Body than weight lifting. Fight me, gym rats.

Planet Fitness. Annual fee on January 1st was the most unexpected for me. I joined in November….
Im staying healthy. Im walking 4 miles to work instead of biking because my bike broke down and thanks to proce gougers I cant afford a replacement. Even cheap ass Wal Mart bikes that should be 200 bucks are like 600+. I hope karma catches up to these clowns.
I pay 105 at lifetime buy I do go 6 days a week and have a good solid and committed group that I go with. It’s been 3 months and feel better than ever.
Turns out I’m a bandit who benefits on others losses, feels good to be in shape though.
I signed up for a 3-month membership. Learned on the spot all the tips and tricks. Tomorrow will be my last day and I went 4 times per week. Now I learned enough exercises to continue the rest of my fitness journey at home with equipment I’m planning on buying. Because now I know what I used the most in the gym. But one tip, go to the gym with someone who can guide you.
The best solution for this is to workout at home… do push ups pull ups crunches trust me on this that’s all what you need if you are a beginner..
FUN FACT: Some health insurance companies will lower your premiums or even pay your membership in full.
I go 5 times a week and they charge $38 a fortnight. I’m definitely getting my money’s worth!
When you can finally disregard a Two Cents video bc you pay less than $2 each visit on a $39.99 monthly membership.

“YO. You ready to get JACKED?? SWEEET!” LOL cracks me up every time
Sorry dude, I do my “crossfit” by myself in any gym of my choice. You and the “Crossfit” organization are totally wrong in trying to turn a potential mass sport, which I believe in, into a sport for an elite. I like “Crossfit”, I practice “Crossfit”, I believe in “Crossfit”, but cannot agree with Crossfit’s perspective on pricing and will not join any elite sport whether “crossfit” or any other. So, for those who like me like to practice the sport of “crossfit” look for a box which is not affiliated with the “crossfit” organization, where you can reap the benefits of “crossfit” without the elitist price. If you cannot find one, get a group of friends and do it yourself. No big deal. I do it on my regular gym by myself. Regards
In China I recently signed up for a gym that only offered yearly rates. I bought 2 years for $175 because 1 year was $150. It’s a cheaper gym but it’s got everything I need! I don’t need special smoothies or a swimming pool
Got my gym to charge me 10$ a month and I go 3x a week. If anyone is interested try to look into strong lift 5×5 website, I used it to squat 300lb Deadlift 320 Bench 160 in 9 months for 1rep max. I am a 5,6 and 136lb male.
I just discovered this channel and I love it. Very informative!
Gyms are pretty cheap in usa, i only have the option of paying 35 € per month
My only problem with the whole thing is the people who are skewing the whole market by swooping up all the new equipment directly from suppliers, preventing ordinary consumers from accessing it, and then directly reselling at up to twice the price. Is it legal? I guess, but it’s not right
The hidden cost of laziness and fast food… 30 lbs in quarantine over 4 months
Hola podrían incorporar subtítulos en español? Hi could you include subtitles in Spanish? By the way great job!! Greetings from Chile
Anytime FItness does not allow you to cancel your membership until you:
1. shift 8 miles away from nearest anytime fitness gym
2. die
its a damning scam
God, I’m paying 28 ah month and I have access to 5+ gyms near me.
I go to the gym 3 times a week because I see progress! Been called a gym rat! And yea I love it when people stare at me with envy! Also I picked up some pussy at the gym before and yea them bitches were fine!
I got ripped off with cost they did not tell me about till I saw it in my bank account where $47 was taken out by xsport fitness happen to my friend but in a different xsport location their thief’s.
Im Bolivian…. i paid a complete year… First… the country stopped 3 months for electoral fraud, then stopped for coronavirus… paid a year, for going 2 months:(
I can’t wait to buy a bunch of cheap equipment off FBMP and CL once gyms re-open.
This really has got me excited to just build my home gym.
This video was absolutely useless to me! I exercise five times per week. I pay only $10/month and have been doing so for two years now. Thanks to all the people who sign up and stop going!
Wrong that’s why you should sign up for planet fitness for $10 a month. Or a big chain gym that charges $20 a month.
wow, just when i thought crossfit wasn’t a cult… your trainers can be your friend, entertain you, be your leader, pay them!!
I am paying 20$/month and gonig 20 times a month. So 1$/1Workout.
Thank god that we pay in Germany only 20 euro per month for a gym membership
I have no been to a gym in 4 years. All i need a pair of running shoes and my bike then i am all set.
sometimes i feel like im the only person who genuinely enjoys working out
I just bought barbells and dumbbells, lost 12kg of fat and gained 7kg of muscle in 6 months
The best time of my life was when I first got tye hang of the gym, worth every penny. Now that I’ve invested into a home gym, I can workout whenever I want, including during quarantine.
There is also better ways. You guys can just do hiit, aerobics, calisthenics workout that won’t cost you a thing
Trust me half the people who bought weights don’t even know what they’re doing, they’re just trying to make a quick profit. Once no one buys them and lockdown is over they’re going to be the ones regretting trying to gouge
Holy crap, that’s a very low amount of money you spent on a freaking gym! How on Earth did you do that?
Crossfit isn’t expensive….the back, knee, and shoulder injuries are.
Saved up and bought a squat rack, barbell and weights for my garage. 4 years later I save saved hundreds on gym fees and use it regularly
Ironically the most I exercise is when I don’t have a gym membership.. a pull up rod, a pair of dumbbells and running shoes is all you need..
For cheap, small and portable equipment for strength training outside a gym. It is hard to beat gymnastic rings. Takes care of pretty much everything except lower body training.
Crossfit is expensive cos of all the medical bills from your snapped up body
Lol I did the annual payment and I average 20 days a month so I pay $0.85 per visit.
I canceled by gym membership paid like almost $300.
Then a couple of months I received a letter that I owned them like $420.
The best way to stay in shape as an adult (at least for me) is to join a sports league for a sport you enjoy.
My old boxing gym was $45 a month. With Former Pro coaches, successful pro boxers that are undefeated at the moment.
How is nobody noticing on the guy in the moustache looks like a doppelgänger of Ryan Gosling?!
In India my gym charges money equivalent to 10$ per month
My local gyms force you to take a yearly subscription. You can’t just pay for visiting once.
Coop, want to buy Rogue’s 390C 3.0 power rack, an EU Oly. Barbell, 320 lbs. of 2.0 training plates, and an adjustable 2.0 bench. Do you think inventory and prices will normalize price wise by Matte Black Friday (November)? I will wait for Rogue’s free shipping and spend up to $3,000 if their current list prices don’t inflate. Thanks.
This chick needs to go to the gym, she keeps getting fatter every video..
Just show up and get what you pay for. Simple. Even walking around is getting exercise.
“looks do not satisfy you how u feel about u satisfyies u”
-Beautiful sentence
I enjoy working out at home and trying the gym for the first time, I was expecting no joining fee which I got after I joined. That time, I decided to cancel it within that day and enjoyed spending time doing yoga.
My body has turned to fucking mush now. Body weight exercise wasn’t cutting it and my motivation just died.
I think a better video would be to explain why it is $175. Not just in general terms but the ones and zeros of how that number is set. Comparing it to yoga or something else is meaningless because as you said, it’s relative.
I thought all the companies are out of stock because their Chinese suppliers can’t ship products and materials. Or because their factories are closed due to quarantine. I don’t think there is really that much spike in sales. Demand yes, that grew, and second hand market gauged prices. But I don’t think equipment companies get anything much out of it. Do you have their sales data to check?
FACT 1: Since a daily WOD is really not enough time to be competent at any move you end up buying your own stuff quite soon after our first session IE jump rope. Fact 2: Most Crossfit Boxes is a group class coached by non-athletic people (part time coach) and you really have to book additional sessions with experts to really learn the finer skills Fact 3: Crossfit Boxes also insist on minimum period contracts so they can benefit from “overselling”, it is not about the community anymore and you wont get a call if you skip a workout, I can promise you that Fact 4: At $100 to $175 per month you can have a proper equipped garage gym in less than two years (Check out rogue home kit prices). In summary Boxes are great for people who enjoy to train in groups and get a slap on the ass after each session, BUT Pound for pound it is a bit of a rip off. Crossfit was designed for people who want to be fit and healthy, it is a sound way of staying fit and strong, and everybody must try it but you don’t have to pay the premium. Go to Crossfit.com main site and you will find daily WOD’s that can be done at home with a little bit of planning and minimal expense. Check out Josh Bridges (Good Dude) garage gym and how nice it looks when he trains with his mates. That is what it is about for me anyway.
Watching thus show while um at the gym doing stairs. Pay 320 a year at 16 dollars a month
The title should be. Hey, here are some reason why im going to trick you into justifying crossfit costs.
This is mostly bullshit my L.A fitness which is $30 a month has yoga, bootcamp and many more classes that are included in that price along with a pool sauna and steam room this crossfit is nothing more than ego and that’s it, ever know a crossfit person that doesn’t let the whole world know their doing it
I quit CrossFit
210 a month = $2,520 per year, doesn’t include gas and gear
tired of being on the gyms schedule
WODs didn’t make logical sense.
My new gym is now 1.5 miles away not 20 miles away anymore and I run there.
I work out for a full 1.5 hours instead of the 30 minutes at crossfit
my new gym is open 24-7 and costs $36 a month.
I can finally skill build and stay consistent crossfit is too bloated. We didn’t come back to the same movements for months at a time.
I’ve seen more gains due to progressive overload and consistency in 3 months vs the year i spent doing crossfit.
WOD apps are free btw…..or do murph every single day no gym needed.
If you’re lazy, like to burn money and don’t like doing your own research with nutrition and workouts then do crossfit.
Did you go to IUP, sir? I’m in rotc in Pittsburgh. Inspiring to see you come from somewhere so close!
According to your math, for crossfit and yoga per month they are the same monthly price so five days per week they are the same cost. I’d say they are similar as both have teachers, coaches, etc. Peace
If the price isn’t that high. The supply won’t be that high either.
So either it remains sold out at a low price, or its in stock at a high price. There’s no way to have high supply and low price without actually manufacturing more.
Once you start letting them ‘automatically bill’ your credit card, YOU can’t stop it. Only they can. So if you try to quit, all they have to do, is claim that you never called to quit, and they will keep billing you anyway. Bally’s kept billing me for TWO YEARS after I told them to stop. I even cancelled my credit card, thinking that would do it. NOPE: according to the ‘automatic billing’ agreement, there was no way I could stop the billing. I had to get a lawyer, and by that time, they were going bankrupt. Fat chance ever getting my money back.
If the BB muscle heads took a few less protein powders to the head and laid off the juice they could afford real training like CF.
Take this into consideration. How many times have we spent money on random bs? I cant even count. Not to mention my partying days of booze and cocaine. Being honest. If it’s something you love to do and it improves the mind and body then the results out weigh the costs. If you gotta question the cost of a program then it probably just isn’t for you. This comming from a non crossfit member. It all boil downs to how you want to improve your body. There are risks in everything we do.
9600 monthly overhead and the only revenue from the gym itself beside the supplement company is membership. Then 100K sunk into the equipment and costs of setting it up. How much would memberships be then? How many members are they projecting?
Too pricey for us normal people I don’t know where u guys have the money. I do get the perks of CrossFit community and I like the idea of ppl acc showing up rather than every man for themself at a regular gym. However I do think normal people living the everyday struggle it’s like we can only be part of the community from a far… which I why there’s barely any black people in this sport. But it’s capitalism I cant criticise them on this because it’s a business at the end of the day however they would see an increase if they opened more boxes and lowered the price
I live in the Netherlands (europe) I had a year contract with our local gym of 16 dollars per month. if i wanted extra help I needed to pay more to that, which at that time I could not pay. So afther a half year i stopped going but I still had a half year on my contract……. Anyway to make long story short a friend of a friend has a Crossfit box gym. You can come train how many times you what for about 90 dollars a month. The friend introduced me to the Friend and I started Crossfit 4 weeks ago and I LOVE IT. I don’t have think about the workouts, my trainer is there all the time nd help me ( or the others). i go there 3 x a week and i don’t mind the hour commute to gett there. I love the admosphere of real work instead of showing off. I gett a complete training every time, I’ve already lost weight. How can I pay this well the friend/owner cut me a deal. But only if I come 3 x times a week for an half year!!!! That of it self is motivating me, no normal fitness gym for me. I love Crossfit <3
Push ups, pull ups, chin ups, sit ups, running, jogging, biking, and farmer walking with a milk crate full of rocks.
You’re basically saying that people who don’t go to the gym are paying for your membership in a conventional gym haha. That sounds great to me.
Crossfit and yoga are expensive because they are priced to the max that their clients will pay. Urban hipsters and yuppys also pay more for everything from rent to groceries to prove to themselves how much better they are than everyone else. You can do both yoga and most cross fit stuff for free in your house. Extracting money from idiots who have too much of it is the American way.
It’s still expensive, its relevance and outlook which ever way you try and give reasons.
I train at home, overall paid 450 for what I have so far, bench, bars, squat, pull up frame and plates, belts, gloves etc I live in a smallish house, just me and use lounge and kitchen and utility room for workouts. Ok on my own, no training partner but it’s good. Takes special motivating. Own research into training.
The gym used to cost me 450 a year, it was very good place, pool, cafe, decent weight room, classes included, eye candy, the lot. But that was too much for me but I could go 7 days a week, 6am 2200hrs all day of wanted.
175 you say minimum, times by 12 is approx 1200 a year! Training only specific times I.e. 5-8pm…if you can make it. No pool. 1200 times by 5 years is approx 6000 grand!!! Too much. It’s a middle class, wealthy, educated sport. You make friend’s, sure but you pay to make friend, if you leave are your friend still there for you…!? Its Not inclusive.
I like crossfit, its the cost were looking at here.
CrossFit is never expensive if is something good for YOU, YOUR BODY..YOUR LIFE! 100 % worth it ❤️
No!!! Crossfit is not expensive. Very simple: I can come as often as I want: unlimited!!! The atmosphere (in my box indeed) is always great… and the effects and benefits of Crossfit are priceless:-))))
My view on the sellers depends on whether they are raising their prices to the levels they are from greed (just because there are desperate people willing to pay stupid prices) or desperation (they aren’t able to get new stock or enough new stock) and don’t know when they will be able to and need to get the maximum price in order for their business to survive.
Anyone who has bought equipment should not sell it once gyms reopen (unless they didn’t use the equipment), because gyms could be shut again some time… and then they would, again, just be in the position of desperately needing equipment, there not being much equipment available, and what is available being grotesquely overpriced.
Personally, I’m not going to buy any equipment unless and until it is at a (subjective to me) reasonable price, and I’m guessing that this won’t happen until gyms reopen and the demand for home gym equipment drops at which point the businesses get to enjoy the boot being on the other foot.
True I go Crossfit more than I go to the gym. Cf 4 times a week and gym once a week
The church of CrossFit. This guy’s sales pitch is so pathetic. There is a reason CrossFit membership is down across the country. People realize that it’s just a waste of money. Studies show that CrossFit is no better than regular resistance strength training.
steven falling into fits of giggles in the first gym was the most uwu thing ever ☺
Ya crossfit is so cheap that way when you get hurt from crossfit’s spine snapping lifts with bad form you can pay for you hospital bills
I know powerlifting gyms that are way better equipped than crossfit gyms and have 30$ a month sooooooooooooo
here cf is 1200 for 1 year and you have to follow what they say. no PT. they are robbers, frauds. all there reasons are just so they can make money. cf is like a cult when you meet some of them. almost a religion
Pay your camera man to keep you in focus. Maybe put the camera on manual focus and stop moving so freaking much. Otherwise good vid.
I get your point, but here in Germany we have CrossFit Boxes, 2 training sessions a week, no open gym etc. they still want 60-80€ a month. My gym (McFit) costs 20€/month, but it’s open 24/7. I would like to train in an official CrossFit Box, but as a student I just can’t afford it (Especially since I would need to pay for the regular gym and the pool too)
I’ll tell you i program myself after 6 yrs of crossfit. i know my strength and weakness to work on. instead of $175 month i paid $150 for a year at my local rec center. i get all the weights, rower, air assault bike tread mill, gymnastic rings, pull up bars etc. plus rec center has pool, sauna, basketball, racquetball. I’m not stuck doing all my stuff in a one hour class thats convenient for gym owners schedule in a crowded room with people dropping weights next to me while I’m trying to do burpees. i have plenty of time to warm up and cool down stretch. plus rec center has yoga several times a week as well as different martial arts classes. so stop with the its not expensive it totally is because you need to pay you affiliate fee, insurance, rent, electric etc. with few people and small classes
$175 month. 5 times a week yeah it’s $8.75 for an hour class but i did crossfit for 6 yrs and will tell you people dont go 5 times a week. plus completely defeats purpose of going if you dont take time off to recover. who do you know goes to the gym 20 of 30 days a month really
What about the shit hours that crossfit gyms keep? Open for 2 hours at a time, 3 hours apart and only two hours on Saturday and Sunday? I have two near me and they are open for like 6 hours a day. Split up mind you. Fuck that.
lmao the 40 dollar gym looks better alot alot better than my 37 dollar gym wtf
I would pay a 50 dollars a month easily.and I’m poor, it’s worth more than that.
My local gym costs 10 dollars per month. I do calisthenics anyways, but when quarantine is over i will go the gym to complement my body weight exercises.
Yoga and xfit are both just as expensive in Sydney. I still really love both tho!
Too expensive. I pay $30 a month, go 6 times sometimes 7 times a week. And get exactly what I need.
if i do 4 sessions per week i only pay 2,5 dollar per seassion….i would say this was expensive
I have a degree in exercises physiology and very comfortable programming myself with a $10/mo membership and I consistently go 5x a week. I’m REALLY wanting to try crossfit, but i have a hard time justifying spending over $110/mo more than what I’m paying now just so I can be in a class atmosphere and try the workouts. I guess for me personally I don’t see the value for the cost. Maybe I need help looking at it from a different perspective.
Thank you for this! I just started to build a home gym with your advice. Last item plates can’t find them and they’re SOOOOO FUCKING EXPENSIVE.
Supply and demand. When this happens with non essential items it is 100% ok with me. Essential items such as food, gas, drugs, and healthcare it is wrong. However, it happens across the board.
like military vlogs? check mine out as i start from private a progress
What’s your source on the 80% doesn’t show up? It’s 10 dollars per month at my local community centre. There are 3 cross fit gyms if you call them in my area, they range from 150 to 175 a month. Fail of a video. Again provide a valid source for your findings.
I got myself in way better shape than most crossfit pussies with a $40 chin up bar and a $50 dip bar using street workout calisthenics… Add commitment, super hard work, proper form and healthy food to that and you literally have no limits for a 1 time $90 investment that has lasted me 6 years so far… But, I must say I don’t have the fish flop “pull ups” like a cross-shitter does.. I guess pull ups that look that cool are what really cost the money. Bahahaha!!
I spend 10 $ I’m a regular gym and get every thing just mentioned, minus the injuries frm doing CrossShit
It’s expensive because it’s a scam and a good way for a moron to get ya hurt, take your money down to a real gym and make friends with the fittest niggas in the place and start taking notes and actually training, not put wear and tear on your body for nothing in return
Short answers because your getting scammed just so you can make 0 gainz and get a shoulder injury.
I love crossfit and been only doing it for 18 months. but I def think its pricey.
that first gym is genius..you pay to use the equipment, and that equipment helps them cut costs for powering the building.
No wonder the last one is 10 000. Man has to pay somehow for those 3000 nike mars yards..
its not about my planet fitness, its busy anytime during the weekday, especially free weights
good on your for answering the title of the video right in the beginning
How much do Reebok charge per year for the gym to use the CrossFit trademark?
pure BS. i can have 2 years in a gym 24/7 with everything and it still cost me less that half the price for a full year of cf. cf is basically a new gig to make money. certified coach after a week end lol
I’m in Tampa, the Crossfit Boxes here are all dumps, the trainers need a trainer. Most of the Boxes follow the CrossFit Brand, same training for everyone, one size fits all. And those Kettle balls, what’s up with that? Swing swing swing…Some areas of CrossFit are great, but not for everyone! Have fun spending $150 buck and up.
I’m such a dumbass, I got a friend to refer me to LA Fitness which would get me a sweet deal right. It wasn’t, the initiation fee was $100 and I had to pay for first AND last months membership fee which was $80. All the while they’re telling me “wow this is a good deal” my naive out of shape ass signed up. Then coronavirus hit—I canceled my membership. I didn’t want to pay the $100 annual fee because who knows when they would open again or if it would be safe to resume the gym, and I only have July to use my last month I already paid for. But I don’t want to risk getting infected. Also that sweet deal was BS, online they had a $0 invitation fee and $29 monthly. I’m a colossal fool. I’ve lost more weight at home then I did at that gym. Never going back to a gym again, I’d rather buy my own barbell rack and adjustable weights, and my cardio can be done anywhere and anyway.
As these places continue to open, the prices will come down like anything else. I have many vices, but most people don’t spend a lot of time about what spend on daily things like energy drinks, lunch, tobacco, or alcohol.. but all of the sudden a 150 dollar a month investment in your health is too much?
$8 an hour to ruin my joints? No thank you. Why are people still doing crossshit?
You should start a ranger fit type program. Texas boys would love that
Can I pay less for Crossfit if I don’t want to “make friends” or get “entertainment” from the coaches?
If I just want 3 or 4 workouts per week, and a little help with instruction and form correction, can I get a lower, more reasonable rate?
Paying to have a “crossfit coach” who was certified after a four day seminar that has a 100% pass rate. There are great things about a crossfit style workout but many of the coaches I’ve seen are not experienced enough to be coaching. I’ve seen a lot of injuries because of their idiotic group think and dangerous practices encouraging amateurs to max out without mastering technique first.
Omg ♂️ I knew I was tripping. I’m looking for new equipment like…. Did equipment prices go up.
I agree. Crossfit isn’t as expensive as everybody says. You don’t pay for the equipment (which is cheap compared to a normal gym), you pay for well trained coaches and good programming. You get personal training but only if you need it. The 8$ you keep repeating is maybe a bit low. Most people don’t come 5 times a week. They come 2 or 3 times. So it’s between 13 and 20$. But I find that still ok.
Important note for the cameraman: The focus-hunting in this video is so annoying I could barely finish it. Please use a tripod and manual focus or at least some kind of zone focus.
Charge money for a workout and then reduce electricity bills by having people to workout. Great business plan. Profit both ways.
For me it isn’t the cost that’s the problem, it’s the limited classes offered especially on the weekends. Being I don’t set hours I can’t commit to a time frame.
lol just keep going to the fucking gym 3-6 times a week and if you cant do that, just cancel the membership. Being healthy is not for everyone.
I don’t understand how the one dude in the background couldn’t stay out of the shot for this video.
Why so much hate on yoga? I do a lot of different training for exercise. But I know when I get old and cant do all this stuff yoga is my go to. It reduces stress, keeps you limber, reduces inflammation, and keeps your strength up.
the reason it’s so expensive is because this is a niche market, only certain people want to do Crossfit. Because of the name, rent, equipment & just simple things like paying the all the class instructors & your various insurances you need to balance the costs & make a profit, you’re not going to get 2,000 members paying $20 because 2,000 people in an area will not do crossfit. you may get 200-500 so you need to charge more for services.
This isn’t anything special, it’s just the model of Cross fit (I manage both a normal gym & a crossfit gym so I know a lot on the subject)
I wish I can do crossfit. I would love for the opportunity to.
Personally I’d go to the LAAC gym if I could afford it, La Palestra seemed more like a pro athletes heaven and even then I’d probably outsource most of the jobs there
I used to have a donation gym the 5$ went to buying new stuff not in the pocket they are the best gyms around
Said the price at 11 seconds into the vid. Thank you for not being that kind of youtuber.
Your gym would be very expensive for me…since I’d have to take a plane back and forth lol! But if I were ever in a position to do that I would! If I ever had the opportunity to visit cypress I would make it a priority to train and donate! After working with you in the past and seeing amazing results online, I couldn’t beginner to image an in person experience
Shit man. If I was near I’d spend every Sunday there! Your setup is awesome.
10 Euros a session for what is essentially a private gym stocked with tons of great equipment in Cyprus of all places? Heck I’d pay that here in England!
Currently in Melbourne, Aus and a 2nd wave is imminent. Gyms just reopened today despite the spike in cases (highest spike in 2 months). Marketplace is still stacked with inflated Dumbbell prices and I’m expecting it will stay like this despite the open gyms. What’s the situation like where you are? keen to hear your stories
Very good video Coop, can’t wait for this to be over and we can all buy nice equipment for cheap again
Love the gym, love the channel, loved the rant! I count myself lucky to have 5-10% of what you have, but I’m always adding. Keep up the hard work and great content!
3:45. Thats the plan Clint! Because you apparently wont bring your gym to Nebraska!
Love this video brother
That’s not bad at all and they get to train with you? Come on they are ridiculous
I thought you were in west Texas, New Mexico, or Arizona based on the construction and landscape. Very cool, man!
I own a gym at 21! Debt free and no help from anyone just networking & hard work!! Check my channel out! Thank you God bless!
My Gfs car got hit while at drill by a private driving a 5ton
My gym membership is $700 for 2 years and it’s a chain store brand, nearly 20 gyms in my city, i can go any one gym.
I really wish that they were more responsible with flying. They fly across the country for almost every video.
I wonder what the owner will think when his business is being passed around online as the “cheapest”
I really like the the last gym because they build a unique plan for you
The 144 looks dope asf something I would only try out for 1 month
The owner and founder of Palestra sold me on the concept. He is not only knowledgeable he lives and believes the vision of his product and company.
What if I have 450,000 thousand? I will buy my gym in cash… top of the line equipment
I was really wanting them to fence or box a little that would be the main reason I would want to go to the 10k gym
They should replace the chiropractor with a physical therapist
Moderation is perhaps the governing concept for a Christian view of bodybuilding/weightlifting. First Timothy 4:8 teaches, “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come” (emphasis added). Physical fitness is important, and as this verse states, it does have some value. We are physical and spiritual beings, and the condition of the physical body undeniably can impact the spirituality of a person. Surely part of “glorifying God in your body” (1 Corinthians 6:20) is keeping it in reasonably good physical condition. Bodybuilding can definitely be a part of a Christian’s physical fitness program.
At the same time, as with many things in this life, bodybuilding, if taken to the extreme, can become an idol. Eventually, a point is reached where there is no true value in adding more muscle. Bodybuilding/weightlifting can become an addiction and/or obsession. While this is much more often an issue with men, it can be an issue for women as well. Striving for bigger and stronger muscles, taken to the extreme, is nothing but vanity (1 Samuel 16:7; Ecclesiastes 1:2; 1 Peter 3:4). Once we allow our physical appearance to become more important than our relationship with God, it has become an idol (1 John 5:21).
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). The key question is does bodybuilding/weightlifting glorify God? If it is done to increase fitness, strength, and tone, and thereby health, yes, it can be done for God’s glory. If it is done out of vanity and pride, or from an unhealthy obsession with getting bigger and stronger, no, it does not glorify God. How should a Christian view bodybuilding? “‘Everything is permissible for me’—but not everything is beneficial. “‘Everything is permissible for me’—but I will not be mastered by anything…. ‘Everything is permissible’—but not everything is constructive” (1 Corinthians 6:12; 10:23).
Gian Giorgio Trissino
Both I and J were used interchangeably by scribes to express the sound of both the vowel and the consonant. It wasn’t until 1524 when Gian Giorgio Trissino, an Italian Renaissance grammarian known as the father of the letter J, made a clear distinction between the two sounds.
A pair of adjustable dumbells that go up to 40 kgs each and a used treadmill and a bench will set you back £500. That’s the only gym equipment you’ll need unless you’re a powerlifter/bodybuilder
Just bought flight orange and blue raz pre, im from canada ontario. How long do u think it would ship?
When the lady asked about a typical day in the life of eating for Steven I actually snorted aloud
That background music when they were learning the exercises at the $10,000 gym was an interesting choice
i appreciate that even the budget gyms are trying to help save the planet
The locker room by it’s self has so much you can do for a work out and it reminds me of a condo because they have the same thing. These days condo’s have most of the stuff the GYM has today. Like pools and computer rooms, pool tables, steam sauna, locker room, Gym room with TV, party rent out room, no grass to cut and your own private two parking spots per client. And some give free dinner one’s week on pay day. And free in door church on Sunday. Some do not have anything at all but a GYM. The down fall is if you are a heavy metal music lover that love loud music they can vote you out. But the man move across the street to another condo and did the same thing. They still was mad because his old condo neighbors across the street could still hear his loud music. But his new neighbors did not mind. I was laughing because the old Latin man was so funny with his dancing showing off next door with his new place. They was racist to him any way before he was playing loud music. Most condo’s has two rest rooms and two walk in closets, living room, two bed room, and dinner room and small out side patio. You have to share the GYM, computer room, and pool room with steam room. and on site private park for a picnic.
Thats genious. Get ppl to pay 40 bucks a month and have them produce power for you.
I pay my gym $60 monthly and it’s not even close to the first gym they went to.
mate my box in Auckland, New Zealand is $40 a week for unlimited classes. thats about USD$30 so it’s peanuts and what you get for it is crazy in terms of value. wish I had found it years ago.
“$8.33 per session.” Old sales technique known as “reduction of the ridiculous.”
40$ is too much for that gym. Just get a 12$ golds gym membership
A couple months back, I had an extra 300# of Everlast plates and three chrome plated bars, just sitting in my basement gym. All standard 1” stuff. I put them up on eBay, cheap and let people bid on them and ended up with over a thousand dollars in sales. Actually, over $1100. I got rid of my over supply and made a few bucks. I decided it was a good time to sell when I watched an auction for four very rusty 10# plates go for over $120.
I feel like the last Gym is where Jason Bourne was created….
who does one need to talk/consult before even buying or starting a business just to get an idea?
My gym fee is 6 dollar and it’s very dirty it don’t have treadmill
I would definitely join La Palestra if there was something by me in illinois. I guess lifetimefitness will have to do
Steven trying to explain his diet sounds like it’d be hilarious. “Well, half the year I eat normally, but then during the other half, I suddenly add a lot of caviar, gold, and truffles…”
Anyone have the inside scoop when Titan or Rouge will be back in stock with plates and Barbells?
I pay €12 a month for my gym membership.. €40 sounds super expensive to me
Any trainer that has you bench press in a smith machine doesn’t know what they’re doing
I used to workout in gym… Then covid 19 even happened…. It made my life upside down… I stated working out in my lawn…. Now I workout shirtless and don’t care if I swear around or fart while squatting.. I’m much more happy now
My gym is about $20 a month (it could also be as cheap as $10, I just have the more expensive plan) and it has a Hydromassage bed!
A master trainer at 24 Hour Fitness charges $75/hr. That’s $1,500 if you go 5x/wk for a month. It’s a no brainer…..
burn this fucking thing down no one would pay fucking $10,000 for a gym waste of money.
If Ryan Gosling asks me not to go to the gym. I’m not going to the gym.
check out what I surprised my mom with!:) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2F3q65yVky4&feature=youtu.be
unlesss your a pro athlete the 10,000 dollar gym is incredibly unnecessary
1:01 me trying to fix her seatbelt with my mind…. it didn’t work
I have a happy hybrid in my gym. Pay €70 upfront (future commitment) to get 10 vouchers for a free visit (no financial loss if you don’t go frequently). They keep the vouchers in a book at the front desk and mark them off as i turn up. I’m very happy with it
Love the BS response they use of “you could spend $8-$10 for that starbucks” or spend that money on a gym class. You can’t compare apples to oranges!! Don’t get me wrong, crossfit is a much better deal than personal training but if you’ve ever taken an economics class you know that high supply causes prices to go down. As in one class of 10 ppl would cause the gym X amount to charge where as a class of 20 ppl would cause the gym to charge the same amount. That gym doesn’t have to go out and buy more equipment every time a 20 person class comes around and the coach would actually spend less time correcting and spotting someone’s issues (cause they can’t keep an eye on all those ppl at once). Am I wrong?
My gym is only $20 with a pool, hot tub, courts, and even a movie theatre ♀️
In my town $40 dollar gyms are considered the luxury ones
Thats so expensive, in the uk, my gym membership is £18.99 a month for one of the top gym chains in the country
I’m a broke ass student and I’d literally pay every single pound that I earn per week to train there. The fucking cheek on some people complaining for 5-10 dollar donations for training at clints HOME gym
If the 40$ gym had a sauna I’d pick it over the others even if I had to pay more.
I feel like gyms have turned into networking outings. Personally I would feel uncomfortable working out in so much luxury. In reality all the body needs to get a decent workout are dumbbells and a barbell.
Its expensive because its THA SHIT!! When its not so hot anymore prices will go down.
This dude wearing 3k shoes as the owner or ceo of the 10k a year gym
For 10000$ i can literally do a surgery and get abs hehe
No seriously go to the gym!
I thought there was some massage made by the best whores, sex with midgets, special training programs created by Nasa, and Mister Olimpia as a personal trainer.
I got a gym that cost me 0$ and i get in shape from 90 kg to 65 kg in 2 years its call public park.
Everyone is recommending that I don’t open up a gym, but now that I decided not to go to med school idk what to do…
Meh…I have been to a box that charges 150 a month, and one that charges 55…same workouts, same results, same equipment. It’s what you put into it with diet and self-motivation. All the hurrahs win the world expensive or not will not produce results if you’re not eating well, sleeping enough, and working out…period.
Cool segment! I love gyms & it’s the atmosphere that makes a gym special. Cool gym segment!
I wanted to start my own gym… it’s been on my mind for years
Coop got $1,000,000 in equipment and still got no fuckin gains
Hey I’ve been working on a series to expand on some of this info and questions about opening a gym, thought might be a great compliment to the info you shared here:
Part 1: Planning/Finding a Location: https://youtu.be/JRd7LvmMVZI
Part 2: Costs, Set Pricing, How to be Profitable on Day 1: https://youtu.be/NzbPKJlURNA
Part 3: Renovation Costs, Negotiating the Lease: https://youtu.be/qmNNB2xnBvs
“I wouldn’t recommend opening a gym unless you have another stream of revenue,” is a subtle way of saying, “don’t open a gym, because there are already lots of gyms and I don’t want you to compete with me.”
It would be great if you shared where did you get all the gym equipment from?
I hear ya but bank rolling a venture with the profits of another, will enable the gym to survive and turn a ‘fake profit’ because ultimately overheads are overheads and the gym will have to ultimately support itself, as will the support shop!
Gets a “deployment” for Korea, spends the whole time making youtube videos and planning this gym…
Sometimes it’s not the price gouging, even when it’s NITB listed at 100+% profit. It’s the asshats on Craigslist who go above and beyond by saying things like, “Price nonnegotiable. If you want to try and get this on Rogue.com…good luck.”
Can you teach me how to start and what i need to know pls. And laws and stuff. Are there any paper work involved
I’d only open a gym if I OWNED the building I put said gym in. Now that means a lot more money up front, especially if you live in a liberal ran, stupid expensive state….. like NY….. or CA….. or Illinois. I couldn’t imagine paying $9,500 in rent for a space and pretty much piss that money away. At leas tif you own said building and your gym still fails, at least you own the building to rent out to someone else then.
I tend to do the same thing your doing. Build my own gym but all self made by me! Will look for revenue and sponsorship. Thanks for motivating. A lil off topic on things with your gym life but shit man I respect the process.
Did anyone else catch the “no shit there I was”? My 1sg who was a bad ass Ranger always said that
Why did you move from US? Im from sweden and i’ve been in cyprus for vacation many times. Would be fun to see your gym and lift there for a session.
Man we are in need of a new gym badly.
Was wondering about this
Thank u

So you borrow money from the bank to set up the gym? But even if your the owner you cant really train people cause you need to run the place
I was only expecting to spend around 30000 is it possible to get off the ground and make a start with that?
People love capitalism when it works for them but hate it when it works against them. No one’s gonna sell something for $100 when they know for sure people are paying $300 for it. I’m basically throwing away $200 if I do that. The complainers would do the gouging if they were in position to do so.
Most of the overpriced things in the marketplace wouldn’t even be on the market if not for the inflated prices and demand. Some of the equipment owners probably got laid off and are taking this as an opportunity to make some $ to pay rent or put food on the table. They understand that gym equipment isn’t necessary to stay healthy and big muscles and being able to deadlift 500lb is a luxury.
Whether or not you show up for not for a gym, it’s $20 a month. Regardless of the reasoning behind it, it’s $20 a month. And for the ‘Yoga Class’ that you mentioned $25 per session isn’t even close to $20 a month. Your video is about why CrossFit is so expensive. You actually ran around the topic and never really discussed it. You then broke it down to a daily average if someone comes 5 days a week. Well, I can do that too. If you eat an entire chocolate cake every day, and you break it down by the second, you’re only consuming 11 calories per second….that’s it. So, you should eat an entire chocolate cake everyday…right? That’s your reasoning equation. How embarrassing.
Aww ourmine hacked you too! Check your title/description. A lot of youtubers are getting hacked
Man. The quality of this vlog is on point. Subbed and bell buttoned.
how does the product line do? What is the gym for? as an extension of the product line???
Yoga will most definitely make you healthier, help you live longer and puts less stress on your body. Try doing CrossFit when you 75….Just saying…
did joe the intern use to fight or do jiu jitsu? how did he get cowliflower on his ear
Thanks for giving the price at the start and not burying it somewhere towards the end. You get a thumbs up.
Nice gym. If I’m ever in your area, I plan to go. How much for a day pass?
Showed up on my suggested and freaked out when I saw you wearing an iup shirt, currently go there and love it
I just discovered this channel, and watched so many of their videos. It’s a really good channel. Love it. Keep up the good work guys.
First time watching your channel, but I’m definitely liking it. Subscribed… Your shots make it seem like you appreciate cinematography too. So that’s definitely a plus.
thank you for actually giving the total of everything. so many people have posted videos similar to yours, but they beat around the bush of cost and everything else. THANK YOU
In The Netherlands Crossfit is by far the most expensive sport.
my family bought a used threadmill for cheap 15years ago. it still works ( only needs to be oiled once in a while) and i use it a lot. Advice: don’t buy the cheap compact ones that can do only 7mph max if you want to run seriously
You are paying the Brand but you can do cross training and pay probably 50% OFF. Also sometimes when you do CrossFit, the teacher never teach you or correct your technique.
I think this year I paid like $5000 + 32% of my taxes in crossfit. So crossfit cost like $6500. don’t forget the taxes
I pay $10 a gym & use 5 times a week and I have been going to gym for over 5years. I love going to Gym & work out. It can be fun if you make friends there and care for your own health.
Can you check out some of my videos and give me any tips or advice if I’m doing things wrong or right in my diet
If you compare two times a week yoga with five times a week crossfit thats not really fair. I don t like the fact that I hear that crossfit is for everyone even if your not really that athletic but than when you want to be a member it is only worth it if you go there five times a week. To me that means it is not for everyone and it is really freaking expensive for the people going there two or three times a week. Because that is the amount most people have time for or want to make time for.
It s fine that it is that expensive but don t make lame excuses for it
Nick! It’s so awesome way to introduce people:) Keep it up. Would like to see that in the future too:)
Well, one gets to go to the gym because its a live Tinder/Grindr place c:
You gotta get Nishiki premium rice. Life changing. Zojirushi rice cooker, also life changing. Seriously, get a bag of Nishiki rice some time.
How old were you when you started training in the weight room?

Is that trainer really wearing Tom Sachs????
For those who don’t know, it’s a 4 to 7 thousand dollar shoe.
It’s called use your brain. Let them sell it for 1000 dollars to that person that will spend the money. just get some concrete, schedule 80 PVC for dumbbells, gas pipe for barbell, some rotors or whatever you can use to make it work, just put safety first. Making a $1000 by selling a set of 50 lbs dumbbells won’t make anybody rich, and probably they will pay for something 5x the price themselves.
Think of how much you spent in a year on membership?? I wonder what the overhead is??
This is completely unrelated to the video but you should have a Q&A on Army ROTC. I’ve been thinking about commissioning and have a ton of questions that I can’t find the answers to. Thanks!
Using “click bate/intriguing titles” but actually staying true to the title at the same time……ahead of the game. Instead of leaving it someplace in the middle of the video you addressed the title right of the bat, you really do look at your competition (in this case guzman) and do what there not so good at hence the very few dislikes. Smart man…smart man.
damn that gym you guys went to playing fice finger desth punch. i wish mine played good music
Just discovered your channel and I’m really enjoying the videos. Found you by searching for info on Ranger school. Cheers from Minneapolis Minnesota!
Is Nick out of the military? And has he ever been deployed to a combat zone? Just curious
