Avocados and Almonds taste sooo good. I enjoy eating Avocados with Quinoa, yum, yum. One of my favorite snacks is almond butter by the spoonful (2 TBLs) and chunks (about 1/2 cup) of fresh pineapple, mm, mm. It’s good to know that avocados and almonds are not only delicious and nutritious, but also help with weight loss.

Question about almonds. I think the almonds avaialable here in Thailand ate somewhat smaller than those I was used to in the USA. Does this difference in size make a difference in the therapeutic prooerties of the almonds. How many of these smaller almonds should I eat daily. Also you recommend snacking on almonds during the day. I’m not into snacking at all and I put 20 almonds and 5 walnuts in my muesli everyday. Does that make any difference?

Was 220lbs last April cut out processed food and sugar lost 20lbs in 28 days. I’m holding at 182lbs I eat 4 avocados a week. I eat fatty stuff like olive oil bacon and fatty cuts of meat. I’ve never felt better in my life. I eat one to two pieces of fruit a day and lots of veggies. I have another 10 pounds to lose but I’m happy where I am. I’d say cut out bad carbs and sugar and most people will see the weight drop drastically.

One major benefit of almonds is from almonds there is almond milk produced. Almond farming does not pollute the environment like the animal feces from herds of cows in a relatively small area. The run off from this can pollute the water table. Problems with e-coli or salmonella in spinach for example, is not the fault of the farmer who pumped up water to irrigate his crop. Yes, if there is a notification of risk, don’t eat the contaminated food. But the sad fact is that the runoff from dairy farms is the culprit. You did not compare the protein in almonds to dairy as dairy protein which is casein, is a prominent cause of breast cancer, prostate cancer and arthritis. Plant proteins do not cause cancer.
This being said, almonds are high in fat but do have fiber. The more fiber you have when eating almonds make more of the fat mixed with the fiber, to be expelled and not absorbed. As more of us have more fat on our bodies, this is a wise way to have almonds.
To add them even to almond milk yogurt, is already got 11 grams of fat. This is more fat than I often have in a single meal. Though I do enjoy this several times a week, I’d rather add almonds to my oatmeal or salad because of the benefit of the fiber with the fat.
Fewer nuts more often is better than eating them all at one time. On days I eat avocados, I would not eat almonds. If I were going to eat a Beyond Burger, I don’t think I’d eat any other fat containing food in the same day.

I have been eating almonds for years an I dont thing they have done anything special for me.
Well I went into it this time around with the goal of, not to lose weight, but to reduce body fat. Difference in phrasing changes my perspective and approach. Haven’t touched a single scale or kept track of maxes etc. Not the absolute best way of going about it, but taking your mind off of those things I over focused on is helping tremendously as they can break you if things aren’t going as expected. I’ll weigh in farther down the line and see how it goes, but for now it’s just blindly keeping my nose to the grindstone.

You missed an important one. Almonds are to be soaked at least 6hours before consuming it due to the fattic acid present in it. If soaked the fattic will be converted to magnesium which is good

Jeff, your advice has helped me in many instances to improve my workout. I am not fully in line with your nutritional advice. Yes, diet comes BEFORE exercise but building muscle AND loosing weight is really hard if not impossible. Exercise and caloric restriction is wrong and will fail like all cal in vs out approaches. People first need to drop the weight by kicking carbs, focusing protein and fat wirh IF and then cycle into bulking with training and back to fat loss. The length of the cycle is individual. Without weight loss first the exercise usially fails. It always makes did with me. I took a year to loose 40 pounds and the rebuilt 15 punds of muscle in 7 month. Obviously gaining weight back. Now I do fasts regularly in training breaks to control the fat. At least that is my way at 65…

I just started watching your videos and I’ve already learned so much in just the three or four that I’ve gotten to. I started doing push ups but they just didn’t feel right doing them the way I was so I looked up a video on how to do proper push ups and found yours and started doing them the way you showed and I’m already feeling much better and different results from what I was doing. Only bunch of lies. I have worked for a company that make energy fruits bars for about 6 yrs now. Ours energy fruits bars are base most with: date paste, almonds, cashew by adding others dried fruits. And so l eat almond everday, one whole hand here and there trough the product areas as l can grab. I probably eat about 1/2 lb per day an everage. And l still have issue with hearth attach. Also l found out that the almond skin is very bad for yr body. The almond skin is a poison for the good cell of yr body. So this is just a bunch of lie. She must get pay from the almond priducers. Liar.

Yeah, I had someone say “yeah nuts are unsaturated, so they’re healthy.” Healthy? yes. But low in calories? heck no. I don’t eat nuts when losing weight. I would so much rather enjoy an omelet than 4 peanuts. Everything is a trade off, and that’s a bad trade if I want to feel any meal satisfaction. I have to feel full at least once a day to stay sane.
