Sidestep past the high numbers and try your hand at a DIY pumpkin spice latte recipe. This one has a fraction of the calories and sugar of a typical pumpkin spice latte, which means you can fit it into most diets. Ingredients. 4 tablespoons canned pumpkin puree; 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice mi.Pumpkin pie spice: Make your own homemade pumpkin pie spice with just four common spices.
Milk: Whole or 2% milk will make the creamiest texture, but lower-fat milk or non-dairy alternatives will do the trick, as well. Espresso: Substitute coffee for espresso to make the latte even smoother and put a little more pep in your step.½ tsp pumpkin pie spice or ½ tsp cinnamon and a sprinkle each of cloves and nutmeg ¼ cup strong coffee or espresso 1 tsp honey or maple syrup or to taste whipped cream or whipped coconut cream or a spoonful of the cream that accumulates at the top of a can of coconut milk optional.This pumpkin spice latte is an easy recipe to make, with just 2 steps you can enjoy your favorite latte any time of the year!
Coffee or Espresso: Coffee is truly my love language. I have a Jura S8 Coffee Machine (which you may remember from my Affogato recipe) for both lattes and coffee.5 hours ago · First, make your coffee in your desired manner, be it in the Keurig, with your French Press or with good old Mr. Coffee. Then it’s time to add those fall flavors.
The copycat recipe requires heavy.The best part is; You can make your pumpkin latte and taste it whenever you think of it, since it preserves its freshness in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks after cooking this syrup. The reason is for a single cooking recipe, it can be preferred. If there is a variety in the spice mixture that you do not like the aroma of, you have it.Pour the milk, pumpkin puree, brown sugar, pumpkin-pie spice, and vanilla into a microwave-safe bowl.
Cook for 1 minute to 1 minute 30, or until milk starts to rise up and is frothy. Pour into mug, add the coffee, garnish with whipped cream and nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice, or cinnamon.Directions Add milk, pumpkin puree, and sugar to a saucepan over medium heat. Heat until hot, but do not boil.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and whisk in the vanilla.A few things to keep in mind if you decided to make these pumpkin spice lattes for your dog: If you top them with whipped cream, make sure it does not contain xylitol. This is often found in sugar-free products and is toxic to dogs.
Make sure to buy 100% Pumpkin puree, not pumpkin.Mix water and sugar in a saucepan. Bring water to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook, stirring regularly, until sugar is dissolved completely into a simple syrup, about 5 minutes.
Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte Add cold press coffee, half and half, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, vanilla extract, and sugar to the container of a blender. Secure top to blender container and blend on high speed until the liquids become somewhat frothy. Pour over a glass of ice and top with whipped cream and additional pumpkin spice.Pour milk mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove pulp. Return milk mixture to saucepan and simmer, whisking, 2 minutes.
Add espresso and whisk until foamy, 1 minute.Can You Make A Low Carb Pumpkin Spice Latte Ahead? This healthy pumpkin spice drink is best made fresh!
If you want to prep it ahead a bit, you could combine the almond milk, heavy cream, pumpkin puree, xylitol, and pumpkin pie spice together, and then just heat when you’re ready for your low carb pumpkin spice latte.In a saucepan, combine the milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, vanilla, spices (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, & cloves) *see head note. Whisk together and heat to a low simmer, stirring regularly. Whisk or froth again just before serving (we love this little milk.

Nice recipe. Any suggestions on storing the huge can of pumpkin? Because my husband and won’t go threw a huge can in a week and I don’t want to throw out. Also, cute necklace, do you mind sharing where you purchased it?

I tried really really hard to like this video as it is a decent at-home alternative to getting a PSL every day, but WOW so many food myths being spread!!
1) While excess/unnecessary sugar is best to avoid, it is in NO way “toxic” (like…your body runs on glucose and everything is okay in moderation!) It is SUPER dangerous to say things like this when you have an impersonal following like youtube, especially as a trained medical professional, and especially for people’s mental health. Don’t feel pressured to never eat anything with sugar in it ever again.
2) DAIRY IS NOT BAD. DAIRY IS NOT INFLAMMATORY. There is ABSOLUTELY NO evidence based research that dairy causes inflammation or is bad for you, unless you are either [diagnosed] lactose intolerant or have a [diagnosed] whey or casein allergy. While milk alternatives CAN be incorporated into a balanced plant based diet (with the help of a REGISTERED DIETITIAN), it is by no way necessary for a healthy diet. Real dairy is a great source of protein, iron, calcium, and vitamin D, and does not need to be excluded from a diet outside of the aforementioned cases of lactose intolerance and milk protein allergies.
3) White sugar and all other “natural” sweeteners are literally broken down almost identically in the body, so both should be use in moderation, but one does not need to be chosen over the other for you to still be healthy. The only exception is someone with diabetes, who should use an artificial/zero calorie sweetener. If you don’t have diabetes, use what you have lying around.
4) Canned produce is absolutely okay to use, especially pureed variations. Generally, the only worry with canned vegetables is sodium, but hat can be controlled through either rinsing the veggies off before using them or just purchasing the low sodium option. I promise this lady does not use fresh pumpkin for her homemade lattes even though that is basically what she said. No one is realistically going to use fresh pumpkin to make this. just… I cant even.
5) just because something is “certified organic” doesn’t necessarily mean it’s true. Often times genetic testing of organic foods show that there is still some non-organic genes and GMO traits in the organic products. ALSO ORGANIC IS NOT INHERENTLY. HEALTHIER THAN NON ORGANIC. Whole foods are whole food and literally there is very little difference (especially in maple syrup???)
PLEASE do your research before believing everything Youtube Doctors have to say (PSA: medical school students in the US are not required across the board, either as a prerequisite or in med school, to take any courses in nutrition. They generally do not know what they are talking about and are often spreading outdated or convoluted food myths.

Actually, I believe if you go on the website around when they first release it, the date this year is September 8th, you can go on the Starbucks website and probably order it with a pump from there. It lasts a long time refrigerated and it’s probably easier, but do what you do:) this is awesome

She’s a doctor but doesn’t even ask a barista from Starbucks that it’s only made of coffee and milk and pumpkin. Girl ask Starbucks barista to show you how they make it front of you. No sweetener it inside. Sweetener is bad sugar than brown sugar. Make a good research on that.

I like this recipe and all, and it obviously tastes like pumpkin, but it was a little bit weak on the pumpkin flavoring part. I put 1 TSP of vanilla instead of 1 TBSP. I figured it might have been too much. I followed the rest of the directions perfectly, only I blended my milk-spice mixture until frothy. I put 1/3 coffee, 1/3 milk-spice mix and 1/3 froth. I think next time, I will add more puree and maybe more pumpkin spice in it. I might also just add the 1 TBSP as well.

I love this latte. PSL is the best for fall or for Halloween. Even when I comes to coffee, I try every flavored coffee and I start liking them. Sometimes i make my oown homemade coffee when the cold season arrives. for now, it is coming close and plus thanksgiving and halloween are just super close and i am excited.
Great recipe ! I would like to add one thing Cinnamon doesn’t dissolve like sugar does, so after you add the spices and sweetener to the coffee and whisk it, you can strain it using a sieve before you add the milk on topif you want a homogeneous consistency:)

Trade secret: There’s no pumpkin, and it’s kind of full of chemicals.
I mean, not all chemicals are bad. But google “pumpkin spice latte ingredients” and go to the first one, Foodbabe they have a list of what’s really in it. Which is a lot of funky things.
Why not just whir it all in the blender. Heat a mugful in the micro, ADD spiced RUM……YUMMM!!! PS skip all that sugar, or just add a pinch. For a b’fast latte, add whey protein powder and a Tbsp. of almond butter, 1/2 a banana. Skip the rum.

this is a real pumpkin latte, and it’s better than starbucks. starbucks uses a chemical that is infused with ammonia to create a pumpkin spice taste for their pumpkin lattes. why can’t starbucks just use this recipe. its a cleaner, more simple, healthier, and better. Plus no harmful chemicals lol

Is PSL really not vegan? I ordered it with coconut milk in Prague last year.. why would they offer it with non-dairy milk if it contains condensed milk? Maybe the usual PSL is not vegan, but can be with milk alternative added?

All vegan people I know look very skinny and lack muscles tissues. Maybe it’s the lack of protein in their diet.
The PSL was so good! I made it with maple syrup instead of sugar, a mixture of spices instead of pumpkin spice, and I unfortunately had to omit the whipped cream since we didn’t have any. It still was really good! Definitely worth keeping canned pumpkin on hand for this!

Another reason: I’m allergic to milk and they are lagging on making it dairy free seriuosly though
I think it tastes better with brown sugar and also I added a little cloves to the spice mix.
Recipe:
1 cup almond milk
1 tbsp. pumpkin purée
1 tbsp. maple syrup
1 tbsp. vanilla extract (a little more/less if you’d like)
Put all above in milk frother and heat.
Add to frother after all ingredients are heated:
1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
Brewed coffee
Stir, pour in mug, can top with a sprinkle of cinnamon, and enjoy!

Pumpkin Pie Spice Latte Ingredients:
1 cup of Coffee
1 cup Almond Milk
1 Tablespoon Pumpkin Puree
1 Tablespoon Maple Syrup
1/2 to 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract/Flavoring
1/2 teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice (Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, & Allspice)
Can i use agave or does it need maple syrup for that “fall” taste?
I would put in about 1 1/2 cups of milk and more pumpkin. I feel like the drink is too light (for me) and it wouldn’t have a pumpkin flavor.

Use pumpkin butter. It’s concentrated and available at most pumpkin patches or put a can of pumpkin purée in a crockpot with pumpkin pie spice and apple cider and cook down until concentrated to make your own pumpkin butter

Today I tried to make my version. I made the syrup separately (I baked the pumpkin and then mixed it into puree, boiled in water with brown sugar, vanilla sugar and a mixture of spices for spiced pumpkin) and then poured it into the coffee with whipped milk, but it didn’t taste as good as in Starbucks:(. I’ll try your version to mix it directly into the milk.

That milk frother reminds me of that thing that dentists use to put water in your mouth
Just made it. I put 3 T. Of pumpkin puree and 2 shots of espresso. I think it’s still too much milk, can barely taste the pumpkin and coffee. If you use espresso I recommend putting 4 T. Canned pumpkin, 2 T. Sugar and 4 shots of espresso. The taste becomes more Starbuck’ish that way.
I know this is pumpkin spice latte, but for some reason, I was not expected to see an actual, full pumpkin in the beginning
Everyone if you want to have a real pumpkin spice latte, take my advice and make it at home yourself. At least you know what you’re putting into it.
I love the holidays because there’s so much food and family gatherings all the time. I would like to make this because I love pumpkin spice lattes but I’m totally staying away from all things desserts ^_^ The worst thing is realizing it’s almost Spring and you’re body is out of shape. Of all the chemicals that Starbucks usually puts into their coffee,lattes, and Frappuccinos, is the biggest reason why you should make it at home. Because if you want a real pumpkin spice season, make it yourself if you want to get the real thing. I got a couple of cans of real pumpkin puree in my pantry and it’s non-GMO just as mother earth intended.
I’m sipping this right now and couldn’t wait to post just to say how good it is! I followed the recipe but added extra pumpkin puree since mine is fresh and less concentrated than the can (about 2 tbls more) and it is so lovely! Thanks for saving me money and allowing me to enjoy this yummy flavour throughout the holidays because they stop serving this in October here in England.

Nice recipe but this is not a latté.. A latte is espresso with frothed milk. This is more like a pumpkin spice milk drink.
