After many years of working different core workouts. I found bands can be extremely bad for many fusions double major. Just my opinion and I’d add caution to others with double major surgery with rods.

So tired of them feeling out which instructors we love the best and then trying to get us to purchase glow on the account of their workouts. It is such a cheap move:(
I’m not gonna lie, I judged her at the start for being hot and sounding sultry, and having those quotes. However, this was the best 30min (or less) routine I’ve ever used for flexibility. I tried 20+ videos from all sorts of channels (ripped mens, dad-bod men, mom’s, etc.) but these yin poses really did the job. The other videos barley loosened me up, they had either basic poses or something complicated that still didn’t get me the nice feeling at the end. I’m gonna use this every time before running!!
Is anyone a guy and dying from this because I definitely am.

Best yoga i have ever tried. Im definately on this from now on. I can lift weights and run but in doing that for so long, I’ve lost flexibility. I’ve tried other types of Yoga and I just either get too distracted and can’t follow or just bored. This is the right mix for me Thanks!!

If I’m 9 months post fusion, do you think I can start doing ab exercises such as bicycle crunches or russian twists? should I still not be twisting or bending that much? thanks
I am fused pretty much from stem to stern T-3 thru S-1, along with iliac screws in my pelvis. Are these exercised (in your opinion, I will check with my surgeon) ok for someone like me? I get a great deal of muscluoskeletal spasms in between my should blades and upper back which NEVER go away. I’m looking for something I can do to go after those muscles…..
I cant sit cross legged as it aggravates a tendon injury can i just sit with my legs in the V and still get the same results?

Idea for a next video: what is a “neutral spine”. Pelvic tilts/pelvic clock exercises and the difference between a flat, an arched back and a neutral one. I guess it will help a lot of people!

Wow that was hard, but feel great afterwards. Trying to lose 7kgs, I dont recognise my body right now and I am determined to lose this weight and feel good about myself again. I am also on a plant based diet so I hope the combination will help me lose the weight fast. Can I do HIIT yoga fusion everyday or do I need a break in between? I am new to HIIT Yoga, normally I just do Hatha or Vinyasa Yoga. Hi there, I had a spinal fusion back in 2015. I got better fairly well with the therapy, but ever since I’ve been a massive idiot about it; the most un-healthy, absymal posture imaginable, and, a neglect to do any stretches or anything. I’ve decided now that it’d obviously be best to stop with all that and start trying to loosen back up, but I just wanted to know how likely it is that I might have to check back with the hospital that I’ve not undone anything. Thanks
this workout is AMAZING I am a yogi and a runner who was looking for some more cardio. Five feet all muscle is hard to maintain without real cardio workouts. And as a Californian, this is gold. Thank you, Sadie, for sharing this with all of us here!

I have undergone L5 S1 fusion for Grade 3 Lithesis…in the May 2014..
Though, its first time I saw this video, I attempted these exercises as well but felt helpless in few of them.
I have been taking phisiotherapy for since then to have post surgery recovery…
Core strengthening is was I m ask to do by my Physiotherapist.
So in that exercise, where u have to bend knee and put one leg on other and pulling close to body, is becoming very difficult..
Can u guide, please…

I had a lower lumbar fusion three yrs ago…. after playing soccer for 25 yrs & competition tennis for 30. These exercises have accomplished a lot toward warming up before some of the other core exercises from my personal trainer. I love the standing ones as well!

Do you have any upperbody/strength building tips? I never let myself do anything over 15 lbs (Like dumbbell curls and presses) just because I’m afraid things might backfire, but it’d be nice to see if there’s any more efficient ways to build my upper body.

Always remember that that the muscles directly above and below the fusion will be doing double duty due to the spine being unable to move in the area of your fusion

This is my 2nd yoga practice with you and found the flow being too fast (yet saying to take your time) compared to the first yoga video I did from you. I found myself having to pause the video on some postures just to be able to get the benefits from them
Had an L4 L5 S1 fusion January 2019. Currently experience pain and spasms of the thoracic muscles. Not sure why but it’s not fun. Some of these are what I am using in Physical Therapy. Do u have others? Will Yoga help? I am using bands as well for resistance. Any advice or guidance is appreciated.

The belly bonfires made my core feel amazing but they were kind of murder on my neck and shoulders. In fact I usually avoid this kind of exercise cause that’s always case. What do you suggest doing for cardio for someone who has had a double fusion on the lower back? I’m 1.5 out from my last surgery.
Hi Dr. Ennis, I had fusion 1.5 months ago. It was my 3rd. back surgery since May. I still find it difficult to walk more than 10 minutes at a time and I’m slightly hunched at that. Depressing since I was an avid runner and hiker. I’m still on pain meds. and can’t imagine life without them. Getting up/down from the floor is challenging. Any standing up exercises you think you could help me not hunch or walk with a limp?

sadie! i’ve been following you for 6 years, and absolutely adore you! i’ve gone through your 21day yoga shred and your yoga HIIT fusion classes on Daily OM, and I’ve tried many of your videos here as well.
here’s the problem: i recently had a flare up of tendonitis in my wrist (due to overuse of the trackpad on my mac/ writing by hand a lot)—i’ve been “resting” it for a few weeks, but it’s still not better, and i would really like to get back into a workout routine. any pointers on what i should and shouldn’t do?

I am coming back from a very bad broken ankle injury so the lower impact options were perfect. Your transverse abdominal exercises totally got me. Love it. Can’t wait to do more of your classes

How many weeks is it safe to bend a little forward I’m not holding anyone to this as doctor advise but I’m almost 6 weeks out from surgery but I can’t get a ct scan do to the Coronavirus but I feel good and the truth is iv bent a little trying not too but I need to do some exercise beside walking

Wow I loved this yoga hiit!!! I’ve been sticking to my word of doing ONLY yoga for my workouts from now on. Switched from HIIT and weights 5/6 days a week to only yoga!!! Its super hard for me to change my mindset, but this workout brought me back to me high heart rate days I’m used to!!!

You had a really great video up for a while in which you were doing a yoga shred in a tiny kitchen in Manhattan, I think it disappeared sometime last summer. Really like your videos! Had an L4/5 spinal fusion with 4 screws, 2 rods and a supporting cage 6 months ago. I need to strengthen my core so I don’t become an invalid at 57years old. I’ve lost a lot of weight and muscle and want to regain my strength. More exercises for other parts of the body that are safe for spinal fusions would be great!
Thank you so much for this video. I had titanium rods inserted with spinal fusion L3-S1 six months ago and am walking daily. I was doing hydrotherapy three days a week below the Covid lockdown so I need some stretches and core strengthening to do at home now. I am scared I’ll damage my spine again so this video is reassuring! Thank you so much!

I am 16 and I had the surgery when I was 13,, I’ve wanted to get back into shape for the longest time. Everything I’ve done has always brought pain. This is the first video I’ve come across for spinal fusion and I can’t wait to try:)

Hi Dr. Kristi Ennius, I had a fusion years ago and since then I have had 4 more back surgeries. I also have bad knees with 2 surgeries on one of them. 2 shoulder surgeries on the same shoulder with limited mobility in it. I have moderate scoliosis and I have developed kyphosis and bad posture in the past about 7 years due to the back surgeries and menopause. I have to see a pain management doctor once a month to control my pain and I am also now overweight. I said all this to give a little background on me before I ask my question. My goal is to become more healthy and get some of my mobility back and start by strengthening my core. Finally my question is what would you suggest I do for the exercises that I have to get on my bad knees for and is there maybe a modification of the exercises that would reduce the time I am on my knees or get me off my knees? Thank you in advance for your reply.:)
this was such a challenge and really awesome. For a big sized person (i weigh 220 pounds) i must say i will do this again and i love it. I feel amazing.
Can i do this every day? I see various of your workouts works mostly legs, and i do one day legs, other abs i alternate.
Thank you so much for a great and simple exercise program to augment my current rehabilitation from fusion of my L5-S1 due to a cancerous tumour. This was done 1 year ago. Is a “spine safe” upper body strengthening program video in the works? I use TRX straps now, but they seem to aggravate the points where the rods are anchored to my pelvis.

First of all, I’m really grateful for this video, for your videos, for your channel, and especially for YOU, guys. ♥ You’ve always helped me to start my day with a perfect little yoga session. ♥ This video is one of my favorites, however, I have some difficulties with one of the positions. So when I’m doing the log pose with my right leg on the top, my right ankle is hurting like hell, I can barely hold this position for long. I had some injuries previously, sprained ankle and staff, so maybe that is the reason, but I would be curious, what could help me in this situation? I would appreciate any tips or ideas.. Hi I’m 17 when I got my fusion the lock down started the same day and my dad has been making me bent and stuff I told hi. In not supposed to he kept saying I was making excuses now when I bend on my left side it feels like a bolt is poking my back it’s really uncomfortable but I cant go to the hospital now I’m trying to fix it
Although it’s fast, I like it this way bc it makes the flow similar to dance!
