I’m scared of doctors. Mine’s been injured for 2 years now and I’m getting desperate to try to figure out how to make it better I have trouble getting off of my feet and I stand almost all day
Hi everyone, I’ve also put some thoughts together on how to treat Achille Tendonitis at home, based on my experience as a Physical Therapist. Interestingly, I find we don’t focus enough on the rest of the leg! Check it out and let me know how you’re going: https://youtu.be/L8y1B8ZSeJo
I sprained my ankle. it sort of snapped sideways n back to natural position. This is the 2nd time it happened. Had pain in the middle part but its getting better. However i feel there is some sort of internal swelling(doesnt hurt tho) cos i feel smthg like a buldge, should i be concerned?
Well, after seeing this I’m pretty sure it’s what I have. The tenderness on the sides of the tendon is exactly where it is.
I also watched the video on the ways to exercise it. One thing I haven’t done is ice it, so that’s next. Thanks for the info.
I tore mine and mine’s bust open in it in that I got the bone in optic and I had to get surgery on
Hello, my Achilles tendons pop sometimes when I am dancing and when that pop occurs I get a lot of pain and tightness and sometime I get this pain even when it doesn’t pop. This pain is right on the Achilles tendon
@openuniverse2003 i sprained my ankle 3wks ago( jumped/landed & rolled inward), swelling went down, nothin left but pain in the achilles when jumping/landing, pointing toes out, and abrupt stopping after running. My Doc gave me an aircast to stop my foot from rolling. I’ve got volleyball season coming up and cant play like i want because i can barely jump. So in edition to the heel dips, would the Achilles massages be a good idea too? thnx
my Achilles tendons got stepped on. there is very little pain coming from the tendon to my lower calf. the tendon is very loose, when I put pressure on it, it feels jelloish. help
Does anyone know why it hurts so much when I run?? I’ve had heel problems in the past and wear heel cups as I play basketball, but they don’t seem to work at all. I start off practice well, but after warmups my ankle is at its worst pain ever, where I can hardly walk. There isn’t a specific place it hurts, but it kind of wraps around the whole ankle. I have just recently noticed a huge bump where you guys were feeling in the 1st step, and I don’t know if that may have anything to do with it? (I ice my ankle everyday after practice, but it makes it worse after the numbing of the cold wears off)
I need help im not sure if i have this or something else bit t random times of the day the back of my ankles hurt so bd when ever I stand or lift my foot its a endless pain i ince got stuck and could not move at all it happened the other day i got out of the pool and it hurt so bad i couldnt even walk back to the hotel room i tell my parents but they dont seem ti care or do anything about it and at school im not allowed to stay out of gym so even with the pain i have to do gym i went to a doctor all they did was wrap my foot and left a note saying to stay of my foot for 2 days which did NOtHING also they said its best i use crutches but they never gave me any
Thanks madam, you uploaded a very nice video. I have been suffering from the same for the last two years.
Is degeneration irreversible? As in is it fully healable or would your tendon not go back to 100% normality?
I had this for many years. I had stretched and stretch before playing basketball. Last week I felt a pop. I iced it. I can move it freely now. I want to get back to playing basketball but need my Achilles strengthen first. I hope to take this lesson to me to be more cautious.
Great video I have very tight calves, which results in metatarsalgia (ball of feet pain). The pain is in the upper calf, slightly to the right. There is no real pain in the lower achilles and around the areas you show in this vid. Do you have any idea what that would be?
@Basketball3197 You should rest it from anything that aggravates it until you can play without pain. If you continue it will just get worse and can even lead to a rupture.
Yes you need to keep up the rehab exercises even once it is pain-free as this will help stop it returning. You also need to be aware that it is something you may always be a little prone to.
You mentioned about not feeling it in the beginning but feeling it later on in the run. With mine I feel it in the beginning but not later if I’m wormed up. Could that still be the beginning stages of tendonitis?
I am 42, very active now, played sports my whole life. In June 2016 I ruptured my achilles tendon playing basketball. No symptoms or pain prior to the tear. It came out of no where. I Had surgery one week after the tear and it is now 5 months after surgery. I am jogging lightly now and working on the strength and flexibility of my calf. Therapist says I am way ahead of schedule in recovery. I don’t know if achilles tendonitis can lead to a rupture. I did have a history of plantar fasciitis and I think that may have been a participating factor. My point is, if your achilles is bothering you, you better listen to it because recovery is a long process. It takes you out of commission for a long time if you blow it out.
It’s not painful just really uncomfortable, throughout the day I can walk completely normal and sometimes I just walk flat footed but idk what it is my calf is sore on both legs. I’ve had many problems with muscle imbalances that lead to pain but I have no idea what would cause this pain. There’s no way I overused it I highly doubt it idk man
I ruptured mine on a valentines day hike. Almost back to normal. Occasional pain and stiffness but doesn’t slow me down. Much. Worse part was not being able to scratch while in the cast.
i dont understand…they say dont do stressfull exercises, but you need to do tendon exercises and stretches….WELL I did alot of strecthes and at first it loosen up my foot where It had more movement, but after I woke up after doing streches the pain was significantly worse then before! so yea I dont understand?
Are steroidal therapies feasible?
I’m 23 and seem to be prone to tendinopathy at various parts of my body despite a healthy, sportive lifestyle and regular physical therapy. It is allmost impossible to rest all affected parts, while maintaining a regular sports/gymnastic regimen. My imflammatory blood results are normal.
I have a small lump at the back of my heel and it hurts so bad when I walk especially with trainers or flat shoes. the only comfort I have is wearing small heeled boots as my heel is raised. I’ve been to the doctor he gave me some tablets but it is not working it is getting worse. It is making me so miserable I’ve made an appointment to go back do you know what it could be?
I could really use some help diagnosing what i have i have like a sting or pain feeling in the back of my heal and can only feel the pain when i bend down?
here’s several things to try
Try one of the natural remedies for plantar foot. Something as simple as ginger root, which can be found at your drug store, is a great anti-inflammatory. Ginger root is in a group of plants known as Cox inhibitors. That means they help inflammation naturally.
Another natural remedy for pain is Bromelain. Bromelain is an enzyme got from pineapples. If you drink the raw juice or eat raw pineapple, you can gt advantage from the properties of Bromelain. This is natural healing at its very best.
(I read these and more tips from fergs foot formula website )
What if the pain is in both tendons, so the right and left? For over 5 months?
I did these 3 things but none of the positions give me pain yet I have small red lump on the back of my heel. The pain comes and goes when I’m walking or sitting down. When I sit down and put weight on my foot, that’s when it starts hurting. Somebody explain to me what’s going on
Interesting video. I ruptured my achilles on my left leg yesterday (heard the pop, lost all strength in my leg and went down) and it’s now been put in a cast whilst I wait for my consultation with a Doctor to see what the best route is. I’ve been told that I may have to wear the cast for up to 3 months. I ruptured my right achilles 3 years ago and it was never placed in a cast and although the leg is useable it’s thin! Fingers crossed this time round. I’m fairly active (gym 2-3 times a week and badminton once a week) so I guess exercise is bad for you.:)
I had an ankle fusion which included a process to lengthen my Achilles Tendon in that same leg. It’s been three years since my surgery…it is killing me. Any activity leaves me crippled for a few days…gets better with rest. It’s really cramping my style. What can I do?
Am a figure skater and my Achilles started to hurt and I did like 3/4 things at:43
I need this like I need a hole in the head. My Podiatrist is gone too. He would know exactly what to do right now he treated AT all the time, I miss him he was awesome Bruce D. Gorlick DPM MPH of Sacramento. Everyone else pales by comparison.
What is this injury called I have it and I am going to the doctor please help
Hello
For the last week I have been having pain behind my left foot above my heal. Seeing your video it looks like Achilles. Went to the doctor and did x ray. Doctor said no fracture. What do you think it could be. I am taking anti inflammatory but have not seen any relief. Foot seems to be little swollen without any color. Please help
can i still play basketball with achilles tendonitis? It hurts when i jump, if i keep playing will it get worse?? But when i run it doesn’t hurt only when i jump up with one foot and stretch it in the air it hurts
Dude, I’ve been having some pain in the Achilles area, I feel like it’s a strain as I can still move on it and be on my tip toes and whatnot but I’m incredibly scared I’m going to tear my Achilles. I play basketball and stuff
Watching this made me feel sick!! The pics of that open achilies! Anyone whose had to go through this feel better! ❤️❤️
I had achilles tendinitis in both legs but refused to do anything about it and a week ago ruptured my right achilles tendon, and am now in a cast for 8 weeks before rehab begins…If you see you’re experiencing signs of achilles tendinitis then please make sure you do something about it
What if it’s in both feet, and the first example you gave doesnt hurt me, but the rest of the examples do hurt?
It’s impossible to tell from a description of an injury. It needs a full assessment in person to determine what the problem is. Make an appointment to see a sports injury professional in your area.
How do these tests distinguish between an Achilles tendonitis and a posterior tibial tendonitis?
:// http://www.amazon.com/……Treat-Your-Own-Achilles-Tendinitis/dp/1457510928/ref=asap_bc?ie=UTF8
I got Achilles tendonitis then from the stupid soccer cleats and it hurts when I put on my cleats only on my right from the tightness
what if I only feel the pain on the bottom part of my heel while standing for too long, and while lie on my back? I dont feel it while walking or raising on the balls of my feet. if someone would be kind enough to answer, I’d be most grateful.
Thanks for the video content! Forgive me for butting in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you tried Mackorny Feet Ahead Blueprint (probably on Google)? It is an awesome exclusive product for Relieving foot pain minus the hard work. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my work buddy at very last got cool success with it.
Obviously the warriors staff didn’t see this when observing Kevin Durant. Shouldn’t have fired their trainer Chelsea Lane.
Mine is not inner tho, my pain is more lateral below the ankle and it’s still swollen
Severed mine by stabbing a gaff into it while i was learning to to climb for lineman school.
god it hurrrrrrrts!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I’m fifty five I’m becoming prone to these injuries it feels like a screw driver twisted straight up under my heel I almost passed out from this pain today it has all the symptoms described in this video my foot feels like a piece of smoking fire log can’t put any kind of weight I need a hospital sling to lift it maybe even a cast all the way to my calf. from my left ankle down I’m grounded for at least a week and my toes are numb today is probably one of the worst days of my life as far as pain because I can’t even go to the bathroom without screaming but out of all of this all I did was Jog 3/4 of a mile and paced not running did not trip or fall that was this Monday today is Wednesday and I’m looking for a wheelchair.
I broke my foot real bad and during my recovery (4months laters) i acidentally jump and land on my bad foot. I really wouldnt care if somebody shot me right now
my tendons are so big it looks like i have 2 heels. on both legs,my doctor told me there is nothing to do. no meds, nothing. i work on my feet all day, i am in pain 24/7
Certainly was a “A succinct look at Achilles Tendinitis” and exactly what I needed to understand the issue. Thank you for the video.
Started to feel this ache in my tendon in recent mornings getting out of bed but dissipated during the day, but this morning it became more painful during a 20k run, and with a half-iron race in 10 days, I hope it isn’t too late to fix.
First time I have ever got this.
Thank you for the video. Please add to your clip that Achilles tendon rupture can also be treated by a cast, this is a new trend to treat that problem
because of the similar results of the cast and the surgery, with the added complication of surgery that is infection in about 15% of patients. Surgery is recommended in case the patient needs to go back to previous level of function sooner, i.e. athletes. Also Nitr Patches can help with the tendinitis pain. Thanks again Dr. Ibrahim…
I’m getting a kind of tearing / shooting pain in back of my heal when i bend forward and downwards.. is that indicative of achillis tendonitis?
I had it in both about 6 or 7 months ago an it hurt or bad I couldn’t barley walk
i got achilles tendonitis from doing static stretches without warming up:( I’m so angry lol, it’s getting worse and worse even when i completely stopped stretching
hi am am child and i am not able to do everything my friends can do this is because I have bursa this makes my life alot harder i have to walk in crushes and get physical and massaging therapy
I have been limping off and on for 3 months should I see primary 1st then foot doctor?
Anyone else hear the McKenzie Brothers, Eh? Other than that, good to know how to tell if my heel pain didn’t turn into achilles tendinitis.
46 weeks lol. A baby is made in the time you are still in a cast
My whole leg hurts up to my hip ass…I slipped n fell all on my foot and months prior I ran over the back heel with a cart at work… I went to the doctor they put a bandaid…. Help me with a good stretch please
I used to be a Spartan like you, but then, i took an bullet/arrow through my ankle/heel.
had some pain around my ankle; visited foot dr. he felt it was plantar fasciatis and had me do the calf stretches that you two show for achilles tendonitis. i did these and ended up pulling my achilles badly; MRI showed inflammation and Dr. says it’s very inflamed. So, do I continue to the do stretches for achilles tendonitis that you show since they are the ones that caused the injury? I must have over stretched with the band and on the steps. This was at least two weeks ago and MRI was just done three days ago and showing alot of inflammation. Hurts mostly when I drive and have to have my heel on the floor while pushing on the gas. it’s the heel that hurts the most then.
I’m sorry… but if you make 120k a year and still can’t afford to go on a trip once a year-you’re not managing your finances correctly(living beyond your means). Unless he’s being sarcastic-in which case-disregard
mine hurts more on the right side but a little higher up than the ankle
oh and another thing, is it common at night or when your not moving the achilles tendon it feels like you didnt hurt the tendon in the first place and then the next day or when you move the achilles tendon again it starts to hurt again it would be great if someone could answer this thx!
thank you i recentley hurt my achilles tendon and i was looking for ways to heal it i knew just put ice on it but i was looking for better strategies and i did the Thompson test thanks goodness i didnt rupture the tendon and this really helped me thank you and dont rupture your achilles tendon please ;D
A lot of people (doctors especially) recommend daily physical activity and this is the result; Tendonitis leading to rupture. pretty fucked up result. I’m an avid runner and my Achilles’ tendon is pretty sore. Any advice on what can help me decrease it or rehabilitate it by myself?
My pain is above the tendon but below the calf, I have also developed a swollen knot in the area you think it can be tendinosis? I’ve injured my lower calf are repeatedly getting multiple Charlie horses in the same area, lump started small probably 10+ years again and had grown considerably, pain comes for about a week and is gone for months but always a little pain if I press hard enough.
Do you think that stretching is a bad idea for an injury like this? I have heard that stretching will cause more damage than good by re-pulling the muscle fibers apart. If the cause of your tendinopathy is tightness in your calves then how would you rehab?
I recently sprained my ankle about 2 months ago. Since then my Achilles has been hurting very badly. In the mornings I have a pain and also when I run.
hey people i’ve had this problem for one month and honestly i thought i would never play football again…but after i went to hospital and did xray the doc gave me tablests called MUVERA 7.5 and PREDNISOLONE..AND CREAM OLCORT. with help of some exercise including ice rolling and stretching calf for two days i feel OKAY AND BETTER. hooefully i will be heal completly after 5 days. hope it helps you too
I tore my Achilles’ tendon a few months and i played a football match and got kicked in my Achilles and it hurts like crazy any suggestions
Is it possible to have both plantar fasciitis AND Achilles tendonitis?
Hi Docs! At 1:06, that exact spot is where I’ve been having sharp shooting pain that comes and goes every since I started my cardio on the treadmill. I’ve been physically active for over 6 weeks now. Before that I was a couch potato. I’m isn’t painful if I touch it there it’s just that I get this incredibly Sharp pain that comes and goes 2 or 3 times a day. Is that Achilles tendinitis? I appreciate any feedback.
This fucking hurts alot and is really annoying
My parents didn’t take to a doctor for a few months
My plaster was cut last day I am having pain in my ankle.. What should I do… To normal it
Welp, I have a lot to work on. I’m realizing that I have a combination of foot and lower leg issues that are affecting each other.
i have this pain due to skateboarding it hurts like a bitch in the morning
the pain normally occurs on the bottom of my heel under the foot while standing, and on the back of the heel while lying down. i havent noticed any pain while walking. i tends to get better when i walk.
Bob and Brad the two most famous physical therapists on the internet that’s a super catchy tune I got it the first time I heard it I repeated it
I’m here cause I jump from a high place and now walk with a limp.
interesting points,if anyone else wants to uncover morning heel pain try Bablim Plantar Remedy Booster (do a google search )? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my neighbor got great results with it.
I injured my achilles injury while playing soccer. My ankle rolled over the ball, and i twisted it. I thought it was a basic ankle twist, but as I recovered from that, I realized I have pain in my achilles as well.
What’s strange is the pain is only during Plantar Flexion. It doesn’t hurt when stretching. Only when it’s compressed, e.g: I’m standing on the balls of my feet, or toes pointing downward.
Not sure what this is. Local doctors haven’t given me any proper diagnosis so far. Has been about 24 days since the incident. Would appreciate if you could shed some light on this:)
sir small time I will stand, heal pain sir, the pain one small piece paper is like stone hitting to heal sensation sir, pls help me
Hurts when I face the wall. No pain in other 2 tests. Had the problem for 3 months now. Can hardly walk. Starting to hate my doctor, because he says don’t come in. I have to diagnose myself using YouTube!! Scary.
I have had this for a long time. Im using the right footwear and feeling better since I been doing rehab training for the last month. I heard that even if the pain goes away, it still can come back if I dont keep doing the excercises. My plan is to go to asia in three months for kung fu training and som thaiboxing. How much can this effect me, and can I still do hard training if I mix it with the rehab excercises?
Hold up I rested and stretched for a long time, and the pain came back one I went back to jump rope
I only have the leaning against the wall symptom. I get extreme pain doing standing calf raises but none at all doing seated.
My pain improves when i run when i stop is when the pain sets in.
I almost tore my Achilles when I was kneeling praying to God. See what I get for praying to God.
If you have ruptured your tendon do not assume that surgery is indicated. The trend is clearly towards non-operative treatments and many doctors are finding that the prognosis and recovery time is equivalent. You owe it to yourself to do some research on the topic.
I’m scared please respond can Achilles tendinitis turn into a rupture?, and I started to get mine just yesterday when I was wearing soccer cleats and there pretty tight and my right feet started feeling the pain especially today and I just wore different shoes and it helped but does it also involve with the shoe you where? Please respond
Thank you for this. I’ve been stretching my calf and leg muscles a couple times a day and my tendonitis is almost gone. Who would of thought? I just knew i would have surgery but im fine. Now i think i will supplement with calcium amd magnesium. When you said,”The brain, bless it’s little heart,” so cute! i almost choked on my coffee Lol
I tried all of these things to relieve constant pain in my Archillies Tendon, Gastron Scraping, all kinds of massage even Profesional deep tissue with elbow massages l, electric current diode, countless rubs and creams. And it all helped a little, but Notting cured it. Evwrymorning I was stiff in the tendons and I stretched and stretched and finally I got portable ultra sound wand. And one use, one damn use of it I was 5 times better the with all of those things combined together I just listed, including Antiinflematories OTCs, Ice and Tapes. So I am telling you people if you can’t get rid of your archillies pain, try Ultra Sound massage wand. The only rub that helped with it was ActivON. maybe Arnica but all others are bull. Just wanted to share this to help other struggling if they stumble along this Comment lol, cose I am so released. Slava Bogu.:)
Funny how these 2 guys keep doing videos on Achilles tendinitis wearing long socks long pants and shoes-LOL
Surely someone can give me some advice, I had a knee reconstruction about 4 years ago and haven’t really done much running since apart from all my rehab for 12 months and some running here and there, I have pain at the back and front of my lower legs both of them, to the point where I can’t walk and they blow up like twice the size, I’ve just recently started running again mostly every day, and I always get this pain, could it just be my legs getting used to the running again or could it be a sign of something a bit more serious? I’m only 19
It’s been a week with my injury after an intense weighted run workout. My pain is not between the tendon and ankle bone where you pointed out at 1:06 but just right below it on both sides. I definitely feel it on my Achilles’ tendon when I do the wall stretch. RICE is all Keep hearing but it isn’t working. What can I do?
I’m not sure if I have plantar fasciitis or archillies tendinitis. Radiates from back of ankle to heel?
I’ve had pain in the bottom of my heel for a while I bruised my bursa about a year ago or so and noticed a bump that was never there before a couple months ago and it’s making me not be able to walk on that foot at all
I woke up two days ago with pain in my left heel when i put weight on it. This same sensation happens when after sitting than standing.
Now today my calf also joins in this pain.
But out of the three tests I feel pain in my calf when doing two of the three. I felt nothing when pinching the side.
Also when i sit i feel a very mild pain in the heel & like a numbing feeling in tbe foot.
I know this video was posted a while back but about an hour ago I was trying to reach a box from the top shelf, I had to tip toe and as I was doing that I felt like cracking ( similar to cracking your knuckles or fingers ) and minor pain on my Achilles’ tendon (right side). Now I’m in bed with pain, it hurts to pinch the sides and the bottom of my heel hurts too. Also, the pain is going up my leg under my knee to under my thigh ( not all the way though ). It’s Saturday so my doc won’t be open tomorrow. What can I do or what happened to my leg?! Any info would help.
interesting points,if anyone else trying to find out rehab for ankle injury try Jaffacter Sprained Ankle Coach (do a google search )? Ive heard some super things about it and my partner got excellent success with it.
Hello doctor, on my right foot on the achilles tendon area (about the spot at 1:32), I get this straining pain when ever I try to stretch my foot either way, up or down. It doesn’t happen with my left foot and I need your advice on what to do with it? What should I do? I don’t know how it started but it’s been there for a little over 3 months now. I can’t run or exercise due to this. Any help is appreciated.
I think i may have it because i play baseball.my acellies doent hurt when im throwing or hiting but when i run i feel as if theres knife stabbing my acellies is it tendenitous
So, I don’t feel the pain with any of these tests. I get a burning/sharp pain if I’m seated and I stretch my leg in a concentric manner, let’s say I put my foot up against something like my desk post at work, with my toes pointed upwards. The pain seems to be bit lower between the back of the ankle and the heel. The tendon itself feels fine. Any thoughts on that? Thank you BTW.
The most understandable video I wear very hard shoes and skated a lot it was notbad at that moment but know it is so bad and thank u for letting me find my pains reason
My foot is swollen and i cant get over all the stupid doctors i have seen over the past few years who just tell me it’s nothing. I should have become a doctor to heal my pain myself.
Do you have any videos on Peroneal Tendon Subluxation? I was recently diagnosed with Achilles Tendonitis, Peroneal tendonitis, and Peroneal tendon Subluxation. I was put in a boot but it hasn’t done a whole lot. I can still feel that popping of the Peroneal tendon even when I’m wearing the boot. I play soccer and really can’t afford a whole lot of time off. Help!
Injured my ankle a few months ago but the pain is off and on but recently started getting pain when walking and running on the outside of my ankle and goes up a little bit of my calf! No bruising but mild swelling what do you think it could be?
Thanks for the Video clip! Sorry for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you considered Mackorny Feet Ahead Blueprint (search on google)? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for Relieving foot pain minus the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my work buddy after many years got excellent success with it.
Umm should i go doctors i did 100 sit ups and 5 minutes of plank and im getting so much pain in the back of my ankles but honestly im scared i might need a operation… Please answer
Even in 2010, it was known that an Achilles even could occur from calf issues. Yet some how the Warriors claimed not to know and now KDs career could be altered forever. Google could’ve diagnosed dude better.
You can have a steriod injection into the achilles tendon. But these should only be tried after appropriate conservative treatment fails.
So, I’ve got one or two symptoms of this, plantar fasciitis and tendinitis, my pain is on the inside base of the heel, what can it be? It started 10 days ago after a night shift (I work at the information desk at an airport, not walking much, but more than I am used to) and it prevents me from walking! On medical leave already and it doesn’t get any better, nothing works
Mine only hurts when I get up in the morning or been sitting down for a long time. Once I worm up it feels better.
I have it. After surgery on my tibia and fibula. It hurts bad.
I’ve had reoccurring Achilles pain for the past 2 years, I took off the first 7 weeks of summer workouts(football) to rest/ice it. It felt good as new. Now school has started and after a full week of football practice the pain is back…I have a great range of motion because I have stretched it everyday for the past year, and I ice it after every practice…what else can I do besides take off more time from exercise??? Any response will be greatly appreciated
I’ve been injured since August 2015 (9 months roughly) and on September 2015 I went to a therapist and he prescribed footbeds or whatever they are called to put into my shoe. the pain gone away from 10 to 3. But I still felt the pain. so on November-december i went to another therapist and he just took a look at my tendon and said “ahhhh wait 6 weeks and do eccentric heeldrops” and wrote my onto a physiotherapist. who then used like a wave mashine. I got it 2 times a week for 5 weeks and my Achilles tendon got better and better. thrn physio therapy stopped. and the pain wouldn’t go away. it’s may now and I still have this fucking sickening injury. I play soccer, or let’s say played because I didnt do any of it for 9 months.
I have a question if their is a mark on your achilles tendon since birth but never had any problems with it what does it mean????
@ashleyco07 Yes, massage to the whole ankle area, including the calf muscles, achilles and the damaged ligaments. This will help regain full ankle motion, break down scar tissue and return them to normal function.
Hey so my Achilles has been hurting for a few months now. It has been on and off but has been worsening over time. I do go to the gym, but I took a 2-3 month break because of it. It is still worsening. I’ve tried ice, elevation, massages (hurts), stretches and everything. One thing is is I have super mobility in my ankles so when I try to lean up and stretch it, it doesn’t stretch. The PT at my gym are looking for doctors in my area. There doesn’t seem to be any inflammation by physically looking at it and there’s no swelling or bruising but it’s excruciating almost and it’s hard to walk. What could it be?
I`m able to achieve 95% pain alleviation on the 2nd day of my plantar fasciitis treatment solution “Sαnzοkα Mula” (Google it). Walking as well as jogging is now simple and comfortable for me. I am sure that I`ll be able to do soccer by the end of the week. I reckon that my coach is wrong about stating that it is not possible to ease plantar fasciitis in days.
I just got diagnosed with a stress fracture (right above right ankle) and Achilles tendonosis. I was in process of training for an ironman which is now out of question due to it being 6 weeks away. What would you recommend doing as far as rehab at this point for the tendon and would do you think it is ok to swim and cycle (easy) still while rehabbing it. As an FYI they have put me in a boot for 2-3 weeks. Thanks
I just had my Achilles tendon ruptured today and I’m so scared for surgery I just can’t imagine my foot all exposed like that
Great video! hmmm..i might have to review my videos and the editing technique
My pain is lower on the back of the foot and it does hurt badly in the morning and when I am sitting and get up. When I did the wall test it hurt badly but did not hurt in the area you pinched; it was lower. Could this still be achilles tendonitis?
My Achilles tendonitis is in pain..Is there any medicine I can take to help.. thank u
I’ve done all the exercises necessary to strengthen this, I even went to physical therapy to stretch the tendon out. my Achilles has been this way for about 4 months now. It hurts to kick in anyway it hurts to fast walk and my calves cramp up. keeping in mind I properly warm up and stretch before and after any physically activity, I’ve also given it time to heal and have taken it easy in and out of the gym, I’m a football player so it is imperative that I fix this soon, is their anything I can do to relieve the pain on my heel?
I did a jump stop in basketball and my foot slid and the back of my foot behind the ankle hurts but I can walk fine but cannot jump and when i pinch the sides it does not hurt so what is wrong
Hello, my right heel hurts, right where you said the tendon connects to the heel, when I put pressure. I can’t stand on it or else it feels like it locks up/ hurts and I have to quickly shift my weight to my left leg. Sometimes I’m able to walk for a good minute then it starts to hurt. Any help with massaging it or stretching that? I want to get back into running asap.
Is it possible to have torn, or have Achilles tendinitis in your Achilles if you feel no significant pain? I have been playing basketball and noticed it is a bit difficult for me to walk and my Achilles is tense and flexed as well as my calf..However, there is no major or severe pain that could point to those. I checked my tendon and noticed a little hole or two bumps you might say along the middle of the back of the tendon. i don’t know if this could indicate a tear or it is swollen. I would like to know if this could be any Achilles issue or maybe something else because I don’t really feel any pain and there was no “snap” moment
There are several tips for cures for plantar fasciitis
Make sure you rest your feet
Consider Wearing supportive footwear
Use ice on your heel
Take ibuprofen or another nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug to reduce pain and inflammation
Wear night splints
Do stretching and strengthening exercises.
(I discovered these and the reasons they work on Rohon foot care website )
My left heel just started hurting about a week ago and when I stand up I’ve been sitting for awhile and stand up I can feel it more but when I’ve been walking a little bit I’m going to try exercise thank you
I’ve got Plantar Fasciitis and now this Achilles tendinitis as starting to develop on the same foot. Is that normal? Jeez this thing has persisted for about 2 months it’s getting discouraging I need to pass my pt test my jobs on the line if I don’t. F my life.
I read that a rupture in the Achilles may happen when their is a simultaneous eccentric and concentric muscle contraction? Is this true? Thanks for the video though!:D
Thank you! I am 99% sure this is what I have. I saw my doctor last week about my ankle and he had no idea what was wrong and referred me to an orthopaedic surgeon. I’m now going to go and get a second opinion before I waste time and money seeing Dr Bones!
I never did anything physical I just woke up this morning feeling pain in that area the Achilles tendinitis…so why is that?
hey i have this symptoms and goes all the way to my lower calf. Is this the problem I am having? And this problem has occured since a week ago. I have no problems walking but just when jogging it hurts and I dont jog anymore.
How long do you think this will heal?
Cheers
Hey do you think that the kT Tape would help I am thinking of buying it.
Please help me. How the fuck did this happen? My leg is killing me right now.
I’m only 13 and I went to the doctors and found out I have Achilles tendinitis
I sprung my Achilles in 2014 and never was the same. Its inflamed randomly, will it ever be the same?
I had a heel injury playing football and it was where my Achilles and bone connect at the bottom of my ankle, I went to a doctor to get X-rays and there was a bubble in my growth plate but I think that was from a while ago. I was on crutches for about 4 days and in a boot for 1 and a half weeks. After about 2 weeks I felt decent, and I walked around for Halloween but since then I’ve not been able to really run around and the wall stretch hurts a ton. What do you think is best

My pain is on the back of my heel. Most days I can’t put any pressure on that foot. I have the hardest time first thing in the morning and after work.
What you analyse in this video has a lot in common with my problems though tightness and the orher symptoms you mention are spread all over my body.
I’ve been taking supplements according to blood tests results, I’ve stopped exercising,I’ve tried massages and stretches but the problem is still there.
Could you help in any way?
For many years I have suffered with mid insertional tendonitis. Also developed plantar fasciitis and a bone spur all on the right ankle/foot. Had 2 varicose veins removed previous to all that. I’m a walker not a runner. 6 months ago I was diagnosed with acute hypermobility. I had a brostrum gould reconstruction with a ligament tear and tendon repair. I’ve had numerous sessions with my physio. However despite all of this my original insertional tendonitis is now back. Nothing seems to help it and It’s effecting my mental health. My surgeon said my achillies was fine on the mri. It hurt because it was overloaded due to the hypermobility. At 6 months post op shouldn’t this be fixed now?
Hello doctors I’m experiencing horrible pain at the “back of the calcaneus bone” bilaterally and it’s horrible right after I get up from either sitting or lying down. Is it Achilles tendinitis?
Hi, I have a sore and tender tendon on my right leg and a painful heel on the left side where perhaps the tendon attaches. I am still running everyday very gently. What do you think of scraping the tendon and the calf muscle before and after running?
What do you recommend to relax the calf, massage?
Thanks
