a good alternative to meat (protein) would be tofu.. and the downside of tofu is that it’s flavorless, but it’s also the perk of it. i usually get firm tofu and then i drain the water, slice it, and dry it for hours with a towel or paper towels. and you can season it however you like, i love using it for indian curry! it’s very high in protein. quinoa is also a good alternative for rice, it’s also very versatile! i hope this helped someone… and i just realized this video is like 2 years old

I read labels because sometimes the generic and non generic comes from the same place. And when it comes to fresh fruits and vegetables, I try to buy those that are grown within my state so that I’m not paying extra money for transport. And farmers markets are good as well. Alot of the vendors let u sample their products. The honey I buy, comes from an actual bee keeper.

that Kroger brand peanut butter is very good. I live very close to a farmer’s market so, fresh produce from all around the world is extremely accessible and inexpensive. You have given some great tips. I just started trying food prep. For anyone who wants to do it, I find it less overwhelming to break it up. I do not cook and prep on the same days and when I do cook it is for 3 days at a time. I also find breakfast sandwiches allow me to spend more leisure time in the mornings instead of constantly running to get ready for work. It has mad all the difference in the world. I just discovered you and now I am a subscriber. Thank you for all the tips because I have over 100 pounds I want to loose to feel like my outside matches my inside. You are incredible. I just wanted to take a little time to just give you some flowers of appreciation and say Thank You.
I don’t know how you were able to lose weight eating all that. I’ve always been a carb and veggie eater as I don’t like the chewiness of meat or the smell of fish. For months now, I’ve cut my calories to 500-600 a day and can’t seem to lose a single pound. Even during the summer when I mow and edge 4 lawns a week. All done with a standard lawnmower and no electric or gas edger. (I’m 63) I don’t lose anything but lots and lots of sweat.:/ I’m glad you’ve had good results with your diet though. It’s always nice to see people reach their goals.

Make sure the eggs aren’t poor caged hens. At the very least get the barn eggs, but preferably free range, and if you can afford organic. Caged hens should be banned! Any supermarket/shop selling them are disgusting!

I’m trying to change my living style as a whole so trying to go as environment friendly as I can and trying to get healthier. So I am currently TRYING to go plant based. So, it’s a lot of Kale spinach broccoli cauliflower zucchini tomato onion legumes nuts seeds and plant based “meats” bananas berries chia seeds nutritional yeast protein powder vitamins and fortified soy milk.
It’s the food I find cheapest and I can cook differently and in large volumes for low calories. Also, I feel the vegetables that are both high in protein and fiber very feeling.

What if you have allergies to natural soy and fruits and vegetables? What can I eat to lose weight? I’ve been struggling
Here is a recipe I like that you may want to try. Snow peas, slivered almonds, olive oil, and sea salt. Rinse snow peas and cut tips on ends off. In a pan pour in a little olive oil. Turn heat to med. Add snow peas and cook until most have changed color (yellow green). Then add slivered almonds for 2 minutes stirring constantly. You want the almonds to brown but not burn. Grind a little sea salt over it and serve immediately. REALLY GOOD and fast to make.
I’m really allergic to pollen too, but if you take a tablespoon a day of local (to your area) organic honey… your allergies tend to be way less intense. I usually start taking it in the winter so by spring, I’m good!

Hi Lucy, how do you know which oats are steel cut? Instead of getting a coffee at Costa I sometimes have a porridge. I’m now wondering if the porridge isn’t that healthy?
I’d also add going to Doller Tree for frozen veggies or fruits. the thing I like alot is that there are some frozen veggies that comes in the pouch that you steam in the microwave. it’s an excellent no fuss option. for the frozen fruit I use that with plain yogurt and almond milk to make a quick smoothie. sometimes I use a protein powder if I’m gonna work out.

I live in germany and I’m currently losing about 1-1.2 pounds of fat a week(225 at 6″2) but often we don’t have sugar free ketchup oder light mayonnaise so I mostly avoid that but when I want to I do calculate the calories and use only a little and always estimate a meal’s calories on the high side even tho I got good at it
I think you should try the Dannon Oikos Fat-Free Triple Zero yogurt. Has 0 sugar and 15 grams of protein. My doctor suggested them and they taste delicious with fruit!
The it’s not butter spray has butter in it. Butter= dairy. I do love your channel though, just not much of the food you eat, like all the grains and all of the dressings, personally I dont believe in eating grains, also the sugar free maple syrup, you’d be better off getting pure maple syrup and just using less. Regular syrup has so much garbage added to it. Like corn syrup. Super inflammatory. Same with dressings, too much crap in them. Good luck, you did amazing with your weight loss.

Havent cut bread/carbs out completely but I do substitute riced cauliflower A LOT when it comes to meals concerning rice (or add it to other things as filler). I think that’s been a huge help in my weight loss and i find no real lost in taste. Seasoning after is definitely my way to go too. Really finding your videos super inspiring. I only just found them about a week ago and definitely will keep bouncing around. I’ve been big ALL my life and just 3 months ago I started really watching my calorie intake and have dropped 40lbs. I have a long way to go still to a healthy life but I’m making the commitment for myself and my kids!

I am a professional chef and I’ve been on a weight loss journey and I’ve been getting into super healthy food recipes! For my meal prep this month my grain is quinoa and I’ve been making this quinoa cooked in 1/2 low Sodium chicken stock, 1/2 water. If you mince garlic and Soranno peppers and sauté it with mushrooms and spinach you can add that to the quinoa and it’s so delicious. It’s like a spicy quinoa medley, give it a try!

Hi, I live in Ireland and England. I went to American and fresh veg and fruit is so much more expensive. Over here it’s really cheap. I love broccoli (to a point it annoys my partner and friends) and raw carrots. When we went on holiday there when I was six, seven, etc I would beg restaurants for broccoli or little green trees. I seriously thought they would make me grow into a giant but now I find it very satiating. I also love this stuff called dukkah which is an Egyptian seasoning which the OhSo company makes with seaweed and it makes everything taste fabulous and lasts forever. Brazilian style beans or bean stews are nice and filling. As I am Irish I love porridge (breakfast of the old gods and Cúchulainn) and soft boiled eggs in the morning. But now my version of porridge is low fat yoghurt, oats, and a mix of cheap seeds from aldi and banana. Sometimes I use Alpro vegan coconut yoghurt which goes great with banana. I tend not to use artificial sweeteners because otherwise I get cravings for real sugars so I replace things with fruit. I love meat but quorn and fake meats last longer and are just handier. Koko unsweetened coconut milk or protein Irish milk are THE BOMB
I’ve been following you for a few years now and it’s exciting to see how far your business and platform has grown and for us to be apart of that❤️Love your grocery haul videos, one thing I noticed though is you buy a lot of produce packaged in plastic which costs more rather than the whole food itself…with such a large audience maybe slowly try to incorporate the whole food items to show viewers on a budget what you make with ingredients most of us buy and creating less waste

Bread is fucking great. Fills you up for long, and you don’t need that much. Needs to be proper bread (not untoasted toast ), I’m from Germany, and I only got fatter when not having bread but toast etc instead when I was in the UK.

I am not afraid to eat bread but I feel like it does not fill me up…probably from spiking my insulin with such refined carbies. Even if I eat high protein with it, a slice of bread or two always seems to make me hungrier.

I am glad I am not the only adult who uses baby food! I use baby food for topping yogurt, oatmeal, pancakes and waffles. It is also good when bananas aren’t ripe to use in recipes that require mashed banana.

I’m losing weight and I love sandwiches. The healthy bread with grains usually has more calories than regular. Slap on some gouda and smoked chicken breast and you’re set! Open faced sandwiches are great too

See if you have a winco where you are! You can get MAD olive oil for like $7, I’m talking like a gallon. Also any rice you might eat. They gave REALLY cheap good groceries. I get everything except meat from there.

Never heard of Aldi! Must be an east coast thing. To help with choosing organics check out the Clean 15/Dirty Dozen. These lists tell you which foods are low/high with pesticides. Doesn’t address gmos though.

I live overseas so sadly cannot get a lot of these specialized products u.u still just trying to eat mostly high fiber nutrient dense meals containing some protein and counting calories. I do wish frozen vegetables, almond milk, sugar free syrups, low calorie ketchup and oil/butter in a spray container were more of a thing here though. Oh well.
