Wow, you guys’ gym is insane!!! I furnished a home gym last year as my present to myself for finishing grad school. I went with a Sorinex Base Camp rack with an Elite FTS high/low cable set-up. Best decision ever!!!

If I were to build a gym in my garage, I would have to get rid of my eight bicycles, three canoes, two lawn mowers, set of four snow tires and toolshop work table. That’s why I have only a small combination (from 20 to 40 lb) of dumbbells and a bench in my basement.

If i say no to a cookie or any other junk food ( sweets spesifically ) is it called depriving? because I’m afraid of saying to anything because i don’t want to end up binging later! and it doesn’t make sense to make that every time i see chocolate i take a square or less, that’ll sabotage my efforts basically. I hear diffrent theories and none of it work for me and as I came across this video as if right now!!! I have a home gym and this video is so true. I wish I had known this when I first started, but I learned along the way and have a killer set up based on these essentials.
For me the essentials are:
Barbell + Plates
Adjustable Dumbells
Adjustable Bench
Rack (with Pullup+Dip bars)
Cable/Pulley system.
Dont really need anything else.
It would be a shame if you did not bulk up when these people accomplish it so easily with Ripped X Beast (Look it up on Google).
women who lift heavy weight frequently will NOT develope huge muscles.. unless they follow a specific diet to do so. neither will men. huge muscles = huge amounts of food. without the food ur muscles cannot grow. ull just lose body fat and get more toned looking. prooffemale olympic weightlifters in lighter weight classes.

The first item I bought for myself was yoga mat about 1,5 years ago. This year I bought sport shorts first, then sports bra and trainers (and I have no idea how I could train without good trainers!!! That is absolute must have). Now I am thinking about investing in dumbbells 😉

Lol you do not need all of this this would be a cool setup to have all 7 but you only really need the rack bar bench iron weights and a couple of stall mats. I made due with that for a long time before upgrading. Or just a set of dumbells and a bench.

Quality flooring (horse stall mats)
Adjustable bench
Olympic Barbell bar
Olympic plates 5-45 lbs
Jump rope (Amazon $22) bearings, weight and length adjustable.
Power rack (not a cage). The ones rated for 500-600 lbs. with safety arms. More than enough for a beginner.
You did not mention a weightlifting belt, wrist straps, dip belt, gloves or skipping rope…..or creatine.
All the tips are useful and up to the point but please make another vid on “how much weights a woman should lift” for both weight gain and fat loss..
Just spent thousands of dollars on a home gym then seconds later found this clip, happy to say I bought exactly what is suggested here but still wish I found this earlier.

My gurage gym started with a yoga mat and a 55lb bag of dog food. Now I got my first real piece of equipment to work with, my sand bag.
Making my own.
1. Good shoes
2. Whatever keeps your junk in place
3. Compress, if you f up and injure yourself instant compression can take weeks off recovery
4. Stainless shaker, keeps fresh, dishwasher safe and you can go ham on the shaking
5. Chalk
You „need“ 3 things: towel, bottle of water and motivation. Thats it.
the protein thing depends on what type of protein supplement you take. most doesn’t have to be right after your workout.

First, I love your channel much! All the advice I find here, it’s all great. And this list of fitness essentials is pretty much complete IMHO. I can’t agree more on 4 kilos dumbbells!
Second what would I add? Depending on one’s goals, like when you don’t really have much weight to lose, but you really want to reshape or even “enlarge” certain body parts and.. Okay, getting ankle weights is GREAT idea then. And not the lightest ones too. I got 11 pounds each recently, and I can already tell usual butt isolation routine totally feels different now. In a good way. Wish I got them earlier! I’m sure these weights are useful for some other exercises as well making things challenging, in a good way again. (even though thinking of getting 20 Ibs ones is scary 11 make me exhausted enough lol)

You don’t have to get really big if you don’t want to, besides the only time you would look horrible in a dress is if you had just finished a workout and your muscles are flexed. Otherwise you don’t always look flexed and pumped up, when you are relaxed you pretty much look like she does in the video.

Muscle does not weigh more than fat. A pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat. What you’re trying to say is muscle is more dense, therefore you can fit more of it in a smaller space. That’s why the scale can go up when weight training, even though we’re getting smaller. It also has to do with water retention after a good workout, perfectly normal.

These are some really good tips! Ever since I have been weight training I have gained 10lbs and still gaining… Also my appetite has increased is that normal? I have had trainers say it is and I should in take more protein?
