I’ve been under Dr. Robert Szabo for some months now and I was a T2D and what he says works! Having been on insulin for 20 years, I now don’t need it, my blood-sugar levels are low, I’ve lost weight without really trying and I don’t feel hungry on a low-carb, high healthy fat diet. Skin problems that I’ve had have literally disappeared. I had an ulcer on a leg which I was having dressed 3 times a week for 6 months has healed all because of a low-carb diet. No pills, no surgery and it works! Simply go on a Keto diet. It is a slight life-style change but it’s really worth it and it works very quickly after starting.
I went to a Doctor that understands Keto but all of the expensive blood tests she wanted me to have done financially stopped me from seeing her. My appointment with her was around $200 also. Is there someone I can see in South Australia who can help me without needing the expensive blood tests done?
Low carb and low Antinutrient! (no Nuts, no seed oil). I abandoned also my beloved Coffee… Lot of organ meat… Epilepsy gone!
The reason there is “no reversal of diabetes” is because they want people dying and sick to depend on big pharma. This is the plan of The New World Order. Read the Georgia Guidestones. We are living in the end times. The only thing that really matters is if you have been born again. Only the blood of Jesus Christ can save you from your sins.
Why would anyone want to mutilate themselves when you can just go keto?
The problem is the blood having too much fat mixing with just enough carbohydrate. Fat is the problem there. High carb is not the problem. High fat is.
How about capitalism? Isn’t capitalism associated with type 2 DM?
What’s amazing, is that a low carbohydrate diet for diabetes is not a standard recommendation!
Using this logic, it’s saying that if a person that has a nut allergy stops eating nuts their nut allergy is reversed or cured. No it isn’t, just have some nuts and you’ll quickly find out you’re not cured.
Same with Keto and diabetes, if you think you have reversed or cured your diabetes go have at Glucose Tolerance Test which tells you how your body handles carbs and you’ll see you haven’t. In reality, Keto makes diabetics super sensitive to carbs after time making your diabetes worse. Low carb diets do help diabetics control blood sugars but Keto is just taking things to a negative extream.
when i mentioned the low carb diets to help reverse my diabetes the nurse was adamant that reversing the type 2 i have was impossible. As someone who is trying very hard to find a way to reverse my condition it has been of no help that the first 6 years i have had this condition and being told it was impossible and insulin was my future.
Thank you, I am so surprised that you did not talk about sugar, the main cause of Insulin Resistance.
lol type 2 is a complete fake disagnosis. The name is wrong, the treatment is a joke. you need to stay away from doctors they arew a joke
Normalized my A1c to 5.3, lost lots of weight, and now have a life. My only issue with VIRTA is that they consider 6.5 a success. WHY not normalize your A1c?
how can u say you dont know what causes it???? it’s called eating sugar, eating multiple times a day. this doctor is a joke.
You either die a beetus, or live long enough to see yourself, uh, not die a beetus.
Mainstream healthcare of the future: Low carb, high healthy fat (saturated), moderate quality protein, with intermittent fasting. Big Pharma read this and WEEP.
If HFLC works for you and fixes your health / obesity issues then that’s great, and yes it is a lot healthier than the standard western processed foods diet. But even Dr Jason Fung a world renound HFLC advocate reminds Sam Feltham on his “Smash the Fat” YT channel that the same health results of reversing a Fatty Liver / losing weight / improving Blood pressure etc can be achieved with a diet of mainly High Fibre Complex Carbohydrates. You have to have an understanding of how the body works in order to accept this. Evidence to support Dr Fung is that there is no scientific evidence anywhere to show a diet of mainly High Fibre Complex Carbohydrates causing any adverse health effects long term. Because the Human Body is so complex it’s important not to be too rigid in our approach to food and health, and ultimately we only need to know that it’s the high sugar Fibreless processed foods and sugary drinks / juices that are mainly the cause of the modern day obesity and Diabetes type 2 epidemic, and not Fat,Protein, and more natural healthier Carbohydrates such as High Fibre Complex Carbohydrates.
Dr. Robert Szabo Thank you for this presentation. It confirms what many of us here have experienced with low carb diets.
This is all completely true but the medical fraternity are gonna shoot you guys down in flames. Big Pharma are going to set out to destroy you. Diabetes treatment is a business worth trillions. These business models will not go down without a massive fight. Good luck you are going to need it! Subscribed from Australia.
What is the disconnect with the medical profession? Arguably doctors are among the highest IQ folk in society, are taught that insulin turns sugar/carbohydrates into sugar, consuming carbs spike your insulin, but still recommend we eat plenty of carbs. Doctors also must be aware that carbohydrates is the one macro nutrient that is not essential to life, so why are these very high IQ folk not getting the fact that if you eat too many carbs most folk are going to end up with diabetes/insulin resistance.
I am starting to think the medical profession are either trained parrots, good at memorizing and repeating information, have too much trust and are just too lazy to engage critical thinking. I think I will go with the trained parrot theory, regurgitating whatever information they were taught without any ability to apply critical thinking. The exception of doctors that start searching other answers, seem to be those that experience their own medical problems and finally realize the advice they have been giving is junk.
You were not a ‘big’ boy. You were a fat boy. And now a fat man. I give up on you.
How wrong is this dr. He is actually dangerous. Treatment is worse than the illness. Remove an extremely important part of your body to treat diabetes???? So wrong.
nawh what a sweetie:-) awesome to you for all your hard work and change of lifestyle:-)
working with and writing books with Dr. Jason Fung makes this man very credible.!
Jimmy, I love your LLLC Podcast, but if you’re going to represent the low carb community credibly? You need to lose weight. i’m not trying to be mean. Just realistic. You can’t be an ambassador for a healthy lifestyle when you’re looking so unhealthy.
I think a lot of people are afraid of the word “keto”. I try to advise people to consider low carb. My Mom is a type 2. I think she is trying low carb. I think my Dad may be benefiting more than she from her LC experimenting. Her health is a bit more on the frail side than my Dad. Other folks cringe at the sound of intermittent fasting. As a low carber I have found IF works pretty well. I am hoping to avoid becoming a diabetic. I am also hoping that low carb will also reduce heart disease risks. All the info is very bewildering.
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and was put on metformin. That was it. I think I was supposed to accept that I’ll be on pills forever. All my complaints of depression, addiction, weight gain, anaemia, breathlessness, racing heart, high blood pressure, bad back, abdominal pain and not being able to walk more than two minutes without collapsing was dismissed as ‘ bad general health’.
I started researching hard about diets that can help and went keto carnivore….a few months in and the results have been miraculous! Every symptom has been improved or cured, including mental illness and addiction problems. My body has changed completely, for the better. I’m going back to have my blood sugar tested again, so I’m hoping that has improved as well.
one thing i dont understand is if carbs are so bad, how are asians so slim with the amount of rice they eat?
Seems like he is just talking to a cameraman…no audience. Is that what we have come to?
Do we have to spend money on” tests ” Before we fast longer than 7 days. female 77 excellent health. no med’s etc
These LCHF guys mean well but its all a big scam its not the preferred human diet and never will be. Every now and then i go back and look at these type of vids and have a laugh at how wrong it is and how brainwashing it is for genuinely good intended people who are looking for answers. Ive studied health and nutrition for years now and believe me this diet is ‘effective’ at some things but a very short term temporary solution. I hope all that think I’m wrong will be open minded enough to keep learning about the ACTUAL truth.
I don’t feel good on a high fat diet.. Does it mean that my digestion isn’t good or that I’m a carb type (Nutritional Typing)?
All you are doing by going on a low carb diet is masking the insulin resistance.
Sarah Hallberg when asked by a woman who had been on a low carb diet for 2 years and got her A1C down to 5.9 why the reversal of her diabetes doesn’t work when she eats some toast.
Sarah’s answer was I did not say its a cure and you should not be going off Metformin. See the video at
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjmceG2QkBs
It is not the sugar that is the cause of type 2 diabetes. Studies dating back nearly a century noted a striking finding: If you take young, healthy people and split
them up into two groups—half on a fat-rich diet and half on a carbohydrate-rich diet—we find that within just two days, glucose intolerance skyrockets in the fat group.
The group that had been shoveling fat in ended up with twice the blood sugar. As the amount of fat in the diet goes up, so does one’s blood sugar. This experiment has been replicated
numerous times.
Why would eating fat lead to higher blood sugar levels? The reason is fat in the bloodstream can build up inside the muscle cells, creating toxic fatty breakdown products and free
radicals that block the insulin signaling process. No matter how much insulin we have in our blood, it’s not able to sufficiently open the glucose gates,
and blood sugar levels build up in the blood.
So you want to reverse type 2 diabetes watch

You not only reverse your diabetes, you lower your cholesterol and blood pressure, reverse heart disease, arthritis and if you are a guy erectile dysfunction
can anyone tell me one essential carbohydrate? we all can agree healthy fats are essential for many reasons. we all can agree protein is essential. are carbohydrates essential?
16 mins, ‘what paleo people think about LCHF’ is utter bollocks. The talk itself is ok but this fabrication just renders the whole thing a pointless strawman.
Of course, ‘diet’ means what you eat. Moore, like most of us, is misusing the word to mean a weight loss diet.
the eighth letter of the alphabet is pronounced aitch not haitch get a bloody dictionary what school did you go to you are a doctor for christs sake great video of course keto has saved my life
I know Jimmy… we all got trapped in the Refined-Carbohydrate Disease. References to “The Saccharine Disease” started in 1956. A clue and Irony emerged Interestingly: In the 1930’s, food scientists realized that refined grains were not providing enough nutrients. Consumers, particularly children, were developing symptoms of malnutrition. Thus, grain enrichment and fortification became standard.
And Industry still does it and we think it is OK… Fifty Shades of “Dumb and Dumber”.
And the real sad thing is the AMA has failed the patient. Physicians have abandoned the nutritional approach to patient diagnostics and medicine, simply because they are not trained in nutrition. A key part of the Hippocratic Oath… “I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure… “, has been forgotten …
70 Going On 100.
Why is Bill Cowher telling about keto and paleo? Are we going to win The Superbowl?
I was diagnosed Jan ‘19 with glucose 7.9… no A1c. I went very low carb eating 2 meals and taking 2 metformin 500mg daily since then. Result is diabetes reversed…. A1c 5.9 on April 27, 5.7 on Sept 10. I go for walks 2hr+ everyday.
Also got many other improvements as shown in blood test, + blood pressure normalised (back to 15 years ago) with medicine reduced over half, + 12% weight loss. Anger management is also improved compared to ‘17 / ‘18….. can resolve situations with a calm mind!!
A very low carb diet can reverse diabetes. I dare say that traditional medicine idea of it being a progressive disease is quite wrong.
This poor guy still hasn’t figured out that abusing his own body and exploiting and killing animals while destroying the planet isn’t the best way to combat the obesity epidemic. Only the most lazy, selfish and ignorant would choose this path to health. It’s just another path to destruction.
An obese Creationist lectures on the use of a Paleolithic diet to lose weight.
I discovered in 1999 that T2D was reversible. My wife had a botched bariatric surgery in June. She became unable to eat. Literally could not stand even the thought of eating. I had to eat away from home, it was that bad. Withing 2 weeks of the surgery she took her last injection. Granted, extreme conditions, but proved the concept.
This is a very good talk, that I recommend, but be aware that he does not mention the obvious and maybe most effective strategy; intermittent fasting and prolonged fasting, before the last 2 minutes. Personally I use Intermittent fasting (17 hrs), moderate low carb diet and no seed oils. For people with more progressed disease the prolonged fast or the roux-en-y procedure might be the only alternative, or the disease might not be reversible for them.
Is this a true reversal or are you still leaving the inflamation behind by simply taking away the carbs, thus treating the symptom and not the disease? Ive read, Keto make the actual disease of diabetes worse. And if you add back sugars, you will not have reversed or cured anything, your body is still diabetic.
Back to empty supermarket shelves WHOPPPPPEEEEE.. FILLL EM WITH EM WITH THE GOOD STUFF.
I have been on Keto for 5 months now. Previously on insulin+metoformin+othershit and an A1c of 42+mmol/mol (6+ in american).
Now I have been totally off insulin for 5 months, and totally off metformin+othershit for 3 months. And got my A1c checked. And it’s 32 mmol/mol (5.1 in american).
But the sad part, my diabetic nurse had never even herd of Keto:(
Tbh, I’m angry that my Dr did not bring up diet or recommend going low carb. It’s such a small simple thing that gives amazing results. It’s such an obvious answer that it’s hidden in plain sight. Diet effects everything and should be the first thing to be looked at, yet it’s only when you get very sick and are suffering that you start to look into it.
Great presentation. If it weren’t for you tube we wouldn’t be able to recieve these excellent nutrition information from all the great doctors and even bio chemical engineers (Ivor Cummins). Dr. Jeff Volek is a must watch.
Deja vu. I was diagnosed about 4 years ago with type 2 diabetes. I was told I needed to go on a low fat diet, excercise, and that it was all going to be very, very hard with likely further progressive conditions related to T2 diabetes. That very negative prognosis by my former doctor inspired me to look into a low carb diet (Ketogenic) recommended by a friend. Within 3 months my A1c was normal and has been ever since. Off 5 medications. Lost 55 lbs. All labs are normal except for LDL cholesterol which went up. Blood pressure remained high until most recently and now is still high or elevated at times but more often is normal. I was encouraged by the same doctor who said to go on a low fat diet to continue the low carb diet after seeing these dramatic improvements. He asked me if I thought low carb was sustainable. For certain it is, it’s a lifestyle, not a diet. What’s not sustainable is the recommendations by traditional medical professionals after a type 2 diagnosis.
It’s always all about Jimmy. He has tried to coattail on several of the hardworking, science-and-medicine folks working in the field, and when they became tired of his me-me-me approach, they sought to part company. What did Jimmy do? He badmouthed them and blamed them for severing their relationships with him, and he did it consistently, in a whiny voice, and as publicly as possible. This is not a representative of either the learning and background or the science of ketogenic diets.
I also agree with combo low carb (enabling doubling of fat burning), and less frequent eating (utilising fat we wish to lose) as again it bumps up important growth hormone, noradrenaline pathways. To lose weight, spend less time in the absorptive stage and give your digestive system a rest. Dietitians have been known to encourage 5-6 x eating a day: in business philosophy terms this is “market making”
This is really a story of being poisoned by Big Corporations and their Carbage. And getting your nutritional information from Parade magazine which has been co-opted by Big Ag and faulty science.
How long should one fast? Ibdid for 5 days. Can I do for 2 weeks?
Not extraordinary, I feel like an alien everywhere I go! Proud 10 to 15%! Keto/carnivore (very low carb) three or four years now… still working on memory ; )
I went to a dr. that studied medicine in Argentina, she said me literally that keto was a suicide attempt and that I need to use metformin and eventually insulin. Although I was totally uneducated about this issue, I did’t believe in her and search a lot in the famous dr. Google. He saved my life, I just get rid with type 2 diabetes (glucose 250 when I discovered it) by using some supplements and doing keto. Recently I did a test. One mouth eating lots of sugar and my glucose level was 83, 86, 88 not even above 90. I suppose it means that I get rid with the insulin resistance too.
after 20+ yrs i am a T 1 started out as a T2 but am down to 6 to 12 insulin to keep below 1B. readings 40!!
People need to get real. Going whole food plant based seems daunting, but at least understanding that whole plant foods are what contributes to good health and refined, processed foods and animal products harm health, one can start to moderate their intake of the harmful foods even if they aren’t perfect. This type of diet has some people eating butter for breakfast. Butter! Good grief.
too much like a teacher.. sorry. message probably good, but really how many people have tried this or that and put your hand up? He needs to ditch this in my opinion at least.. this is not a class room setting any more..
Food environments have become really poor.It appears its easy to buy high sugar and carb
I find it difficult to find tasty low carb in café or bar.No wonder there is an epidemic of T2
Excellent talk from some one who has first hand knowledge.
I eat a keto-paleo hybrid, and it’s a nuclear storm on my fat cells. 😉
I don’t understand how Mr. Moore can see himself as a credible proponent of his nutrition philosophy when he is so clearly very overweight. This is the elephant in the room (if you’ll pardon the pun) that is never addressed.
Good presentation… congrats you have mentioned carbs are the real cause for DM. But its the refinement abd processing that makes things worse… I have been using whole food plant based diet in hundreds of people abd reversed in many of them….
I reversed my pre T2D and fatty liver with LC diet with IF. Been doing LCIF for 22 months now.
LCHF/Keto reversed my pre T2D and it’s stayed ‘gone’ after staying LCHF for 2 years now. Zero meds. It works.
Now all we’ve got to do is get rid of the billions of acres of land all over the planet that’s growing all this garbage and replace with the good stuff. The healthy veg and green grass for the animals to eat. You wouldn’t believe the amount of land in use for wheat, maize, potatoes, millet, rice etc. well you know… corn and all that garbage that the oils are made from.
And we get the blame for chopping down trees so that the animals can feed. What a damn cheek. The trees will be cut down anyway to make furniture. We need to grow more tree on much of this land as well. There is so much land wasted of grains that just turn into sugar.
I thought in the early 1900s didn’t they use diet to manage Diabetes the days before manufactured insulin and metformin.
