I’m a Holbrook guy all day! Absolutely love the fit and feel of those frames, and I’m happy with the lens options included. I hope this frame never goes away.
Unfortunately, frames that go straight back over the ear just don’t sit well on me, which seems to be most Oakley frames. My first pair of Oakleys was the Flak 2.0 XL, which I absolutely loved, but I had to trade them in. Every single time I looked down, they’d rise off my nose and just be suspended/dangling by the temples. I tried on some other frames at the store and they seemed pretty similar to this. I couldn’t see them being fit for my active job. I’ve discussed this issue with others who had the same issue as I did, so I don’t think I’m a unique case.
I would be ecstatic if Oakley would introduce more sporty and full-coverage frames that feature temples which hook over the ear, like Holbrooks.
Radar EV Path is by far the most comfortable I’ve had. Great visual range for both cycling and running. Flak drafts (which are perfect for changing out with prescription lenses) are pretty good and the Flak 2.0 XL.

I ran a 5k and my legs are going to be sore til I run tomorrow… he ran over 20 marathons in a row
I wish Randolph would do some sort of rose tint on their aviators
To me, venting is really important in sunglasses that I use on hot days. Thanks for the video.
Hi, when you do Moscot Lemtosh Fold review? Thanks for the sunglass review!
I’m reading your comment section and you’re really active with your fans! That’s really cool! Anyways I pulled the trigger and bought Sapphire Prizm Polarized Holbrook’s with polished black frames blue icons and rivets. Pretty dope if I do say so myself (; wish I got the blue fade frame though! That one is sick af! Thanks for putting out the content (: I really enjoy it.
What’s so great about Maui Jim’s bi-gradient mirror? Last time I checked glare doesn’t selectively target just the top or bottom of a lens.
Did Oakley do away with the radar ev stride? I don’t see them on your site nor Oakley. Thanks!
Sunglass Rob you should get Under Armor Change up they are great just picked up and pair
Why did oakley stop making the Elmont? Favorite aviators, so disappointed ☹️
Hi guys and great view.
I’m in Australia and looking at buying some fishing sunnies. The split shot is looking the winner.
As I mainly sea fish from a jetty (sometimes a boat but rarely), and presume the Prizm Shallow Water sunnies would be best?
But when it means “shallow” is it still ok if water depth is around 10 metres? Or would the Deep Water ones be better?
Also, how are the lens for scratching? Thinking if salt water splashes on the lens or even a bit of sand what is best to do to clean.
Thanks for any reply mate.
Hello. Why is it required a doctor script to purchase sunglasses?, it’s not drugs, it is a sunglasses, is it again comes to the the American capitalism?
I just got a pair of flak 2.0 xl 24k edition. The prizm lenses are awesome.
Love me some Oakley, been rocking Oakley since maybe 1990. Love my Radarlock Iridium’s & Sliver w/Matte brown tortoise. My history, that i can recall Oakley Razor Blade, Half Jacket, Antix, Eyepatch 2, Cloverleaf (prescription), Mainlink.
Hi guys
Great video it got me thinking ones again.
I am a window cleaner and need a good pair of solid sunglasses. I been looking on twoface but also have holbrook and now mainlink in mind. Any of them you will recommend? Or another pair?
In my job I bow down a lot during the day, so I don’t want them to slide around. Thx guys
Are the Sutro’s available in prescription? Your website or Oakley’s?
Hi! Why you’re forget Flight jacket!? It’s all the way(multi sport) glasses too, I think. And it became my favorite for today.
Before it was a Jawbreakers! ))
Hey guys nice video! I agree with Rob and think that his favorite frame, the targetline, looks great on him. Do you know which color frame and prizm lense he’s using in this video by chance?
I have a Juliet and Radar Lock. Another favorite of mine is the Penny which I don’t have unfortunately.
Have you tried Costa? Personally, I rate them up with Maui Jim…
A 67 PD on a larger head?? I’m at 69 PD but my head is def a size medium. I wear a 71/4 hat size. Are my eyes just really far apart and I never noticed??
Original radars for past 12 ish years. Radar ev’s now. I have tried a good number of Oakley glasses…radar is my jam. They just do not move and they are super durable. That 12 year old pair was my sons in travel baseball and high school baseball… and I still wear them today for mowing and rough stuff! My favorite is the Radar EV with the deep water prizm polarized. That lens is my all time favorite. I now wear them about everywhere…not just for boating and fishing.
I need some Oakleys for tennis, preferably with a clear lens so I can wear them for night play too. Prescription progressive lens. Is that possible in an Oakley?
I love my TwoFace. Is there a newer version of the pair in 2020?
Definitely the Oakley sutro just got them also just coped the jaw breaker amazing all prizm black on black
I have 3 pairs of Oakley:
X-METAL XX Plasma Ice
Pitbull Ducati
Deadbolt prizm Rose Gold Polarized
Tell us what your favorite Oakley sunglasses are in the comments below!
Almost all are magnificent. Oakley is probably nr1 sunglasses in the world. The only bad thing is high price.
Does oakley have flak jacket or flak draft style for big heads?
1 Flight Jacket, 2 Field Jacket, 3 Sutro, 4 Mercenary, 5 Gascan
I’ll stick with my Costa’s & I’m from the Sunshine state, we’re pretty serious about our sunglasses
I bought the Gascan Oakley polarized and those are amazing. It has super high quality lenses which doesnt let your view tired all day outside the sun.
I have several pairs of Oakley sunglasses but my all time favorite and go to are my M frame with the red ibis lens and Carbon fibre frame. I have several lenses but now it’s discontinued. BUMMER. My lenses are all faded and scratched but still love um
I was hoping to see the radars. Anyone got anything on those. I had half jackets. But im on the fence if i should get the flak or radar frame
I dont run, I cycle. Road biking. Crossrange Shield is my favourite.
I hate that sporty look Radar EV and Jawbreaker gives. Those frames make me look like a pro-try-hard. People give me that “did you just do a Tour de France” at every cafe stops.
Crossrange shield have adjustable nosepads and enough Unobtanium (unlike Sutro). Looks good and it works like a charm.
All time favorite pair of Oakley’s were my first pair eye jacket cobalt frame with the red iridium lens. I had three pairs of these all 3 were stolen, after lost the last pair the eye jackets were no longer being made, I’ve had several I like since then but none that I’ve loved as much as these. Maybe someday Oakley will bring these back. Love to see another cobalt frame eye jacket but this time come back with the prizm lens.
I want to inform Oakley of a defect in their PRIZM polarized sunglassses that have mirrored coatings. This is a serious issue for sunglasses at over $200 a pop. I bought the FLAK 2.0 XL PRIZM Polarized with deep water lens in August 2019. When I was driving I noticed double images of tail lights below the tail lights in the cars in front of me. Actually, for each red tail light, there were two ghosted images just beneath them. When I went to Lenscrafter to exhange for the same model, I learned to my horror that ALL of these glasses HAVE THE SAME DEFECT. I tried on a new identical pair of the same FLAKS, stared at a ceiling light in the store and saw 2 images of the light below it on either side. I even had a salesperson corroborate this finding. Then I went to Sunglass Hut, tried on other Oakley models with MIRRORED PRISM POLARIZED lenses and got the same double image effect when staring at a ceiling light. Again, I had a salesperson confirm that he could see the same defect. In addition to the double image of lights, there are also tiny flects of light baked into the lenses that move when you shift the sunglasses around on your face. I’d see these things moving alongside cars when driving and even appearing on trees when walking. Then I’d switch to my regular sunglasses and there were no issues. I tested non-mirrored Oakleys and they don’t seem to have the double image issue or the phantom reflections issue. The problem seemed to be with combining polarization, PRIZM technology AND a mirrored coating.
The bottom line is I had to return my FLAK 2.0 XL PRIZM Polarized with deep water lens without getting a replacement. I LOVED THESE GLASSES these lenses were the most soothing on my eyes that I had tried and I tried on almost every pair of sunglasses with brownish lenses ever made. All I want from Oakley is to get a grip on their quality control and correct the issue. AND send me a pair of FLAK deep waters that don’t have this defect. There are whole batches of lenses out there with this serious defect. Seeing double images of lights and weird phantom reflections is a non-starter for glasses that cost over $200.
Im looking for new pair. Im a wildland firefighter so I really need something that will stick to my head and fit comfortably under a helmet. Im a fan of the sports styles. Would you have any recommendations?
Are there more lens color options other than what’s on the Oakley website for the SUTRO. I really want one but i’m not too excited about the current options. Also, would my eyes be visible while wearing them? Trying to start up a web series but want some shades that won’t be able to show my eyes (pretty big turnoff, personally)
Prism road or prism dark golf with the Targetlines? Just for everyday wear, driving, beach, casual use. Thanks
Just got my first pair of oakleys went fir Holbrook with prizm black polarized.
Oakley lens coating come off after 2 years! It’s ok if you only buy them for fashion! Don’t expect they will last, not even over 3 years.
I have many many pairs of sunglasses and polarized sunglasses are a big ripoff. Unless you are constantly on the water you don’t need them.
I’ve been wearing the Costa Rincon and it’s a little heavy and a little tight behind the ear. You recommend any Oakleys for a bigger head?
Thanks for the video my son is nearly 14 years old and his sport is middle distance, I thought the Jawbreaker might be too big for him? But having seen Shane with them on I’m thinking they would fit my son as Shane looks quite small especially his head and face, what do you guys think?
Wanted to understand more about the “high-performance” lenses.
Would you/anyone recommend a (or “thé”) best lens?
Years ago, I was gifted a fantastic pair of Oakley sport sunglasses (I forget the model and since lost them) that PERFORMED with such definition, I could literally see detail I was NOT AWARE of when driving on both sunny AND (even) OVERCAST days. I have yet to find another pair (at least one with SAME lenses!) like them. With my pursuit of finding another pair like them, I am under the impression that Oakley has compromised quality since the Luxottica buyout.
Can anyone help…
What was your clear lens Oakley aviator, looks like a low light prizm?
I’m a Sliver, Turbine and Mainlink guy. I own a lot of them in different shades. I love them all.
I just received a pair of the flak 2.0 xl and they are awesome sunglasses. But they realy annoy me how they sit on my nose. After the first day I come to the conclusion that I can’t wear them. Its so disappointing because I realy like them. Do you have any suggestions on which frame I should get? I also have a fuel cell that I like. I just want a 2nd pair other than the fuel cell.
none of those r cool man! xquizes but I refer my old ones! ole good Oakleys!!
Hi. Living in the UK would you recommend the photochromic lenses or the prizm trail. My riding is Mtb Trail and need some advice. I’m looking at the Radar path EV frame for these lenses. Many thanks.
Just want to ask where can I order for lens of oakley jupiter carbon Ferrari edition? I live here in middle east.
I’m having knee pain Everytime I go for a run, idk what to do to heal it.
Need some asian fit glasses for fishing… anything you recommend?
I just got my Maui Jims yesterday with the rose lens. Probably the most beautiful lens I’ve ever seen through. I prefer it to the lens of the persol you reviewed which I’ve also owned.
Is there any way a regular civi can buy the SI Shocktubes? I would love to order them..
Which lens would be best for me? I am a law enforcement officer and work 12 hour shifts. I do a lot of driving and work from my laptop inside of my patrol car as well.
I have a prescription pair of two face. Most uncomfortable Oakleys I have ever had. They are too tight on my head. Now I’m stuck with them.
Hey guys nice video!
can you give me a watch model metal what you wear it
Thank you
I’m a runner and have contemplated purchasing prescription running glasses but I do not sweat like a normal human being; especially in the face. Can anyone recommend a pair that won’t fog up? This is my biggest concern.
please tell Oakley to bring back the Eyepatch 2’s with the violet iridium lenses and purple icons those were the best pair I ever owned.
Most comfortable, Evzero Stride by far,
Best look Crossrange shield,
Wish list, Sutro
My favorites are the EvZero path sapphire iridium polarized and Flightjacket Prizm Ruby polarized
Hi From Turkey!!!! I have Optical Store!!! Is there any reason why you dont speak about Serengeti Sunglasses??? I like your videos, But If we speak about Polarisied Sunglasses! Serengeti nr 1 in the World
I have a question I have a very small baby face and most sunglasses wont fit my face cause the glasses are way to big wtf do I do or buy in my case?
Oakleys nowadays have very boring and safe look.Really prefer my old ones
Not sure why anyone would buy a OAKLEY. These glasses scratch just sitting in the store. Save yourself the bull and buy a set of glass costa del mar glasses….100 times better glasses and lenz
Where the price.did not talk price..thats important..the price.price is EVERYTHING
some sunglasses made in japan and other sunglasses with carl zeiss polarized lenses are missing
the quality was reduced to a lower line.
the products were better when manufactured in 1 Icon, Foothill Ranch, CA, MADE IN U.S.A.
Currently products manufactured in China, Italy, Brazil, etc. They are of very poor quality. It’s like buying a fake.
If you loved Oakley before Luxottica you’ll hate it now.

Thanks for the informative review of these running sunglasses. Really helps my decision making before I buy one of these!!
My favorites are the turbines with the prizm tungsten polarized lenses. I use them for both work and hanging out. I just ordered the turbine rotor with the same lenses, and I’m going to replace my current turbine lenses with the prizm polarized deep water. I also love the Crosshairs.
How sunglasses cause eye cancer explained by Dr. Andreas Moritz
https://youtu.be/KKD5ywgdNT0
Rob looks the best in Turbine. Personally, it’s Gascan and Turbine for me, anytime.
I love my Eyepatch 2’s:)
I may have to pick up those “Latch” sunglasses definitely.:)>
great review maui jim and oakley for me been here for a while and it just keeps getting better and better remember me when you blow up!
Right on! Very good & informative. Also no white sunglasses advertised. Always think when I see a guy wearing white sunglasses, nice sunglasses, you borrow them from your sister.
I’m finding it so difficult to find some glasses that I can use for running, biking and other general outdoor sports. I’m wanting some glasses that have lots of wrap around the back of my head. I’m quite a bouncy runner and glasses that have straight-ish arms just don’t seem to stay on my face. It’s driving me crazy!
I tried the Smith Tempo Max and whilst I loved the look of them, I went on a run with them and every 5 mins I was pushing them back up onto my face. I have some older cheap cycling glasses that felt like they seemed to curve around the back of my head and they’ve been perfect for years but they need replacing.
Please help!:(
Flak 2.0 XL. I have run marathons in them, ridden fondos, untold miles of training. Even with a challenging prescription, I could have solid sports sunglasses.
Yoooo rx! I’m looking at a pair of Oakley’s that pop and fit my somewhat big head. I’d be wearing them out while hiking, skating and fishing, driving. Thinking about Holbrook, ridgeline, batwing, radars. Help me narrow it down? Lol
i’ve been using nike bandit for running since i saw your video a year or so ago. great sunglasses
Don’t NEED polarized lensed sunglasses. Non-polarized lensed shades work too. I wear my non-polarized Ray-Ban New Wayferer more than my Oakley’s with Prizm Polarized, Costa’s (they are all polarized). Marketing tech.:) Excuse for manufacturers to ask for another $20.00:)
I bought both the SunGod Classics and SunGod Renegades last year based on your review of both they are both awesome!
Did he say Sunglide or Suncloud on the last pair? I can’t find Sunglide?
I think could be in this video a Serengeti pair. From these persol.
I got a stupid question. I looked up Randolphs and many said like 23 K gold or 22 K gold. I don’t know enough to know if this means they are real gold or it means something else. I only know of 24 K gold and also they seem cheap for gold? Please explain
