My medic is my fav but the best one is building your own because in time of survival u know what u need because there are compact hardcore survival escape but if u ask me I would just take a cycle and some of my gear to escape and not through mountains or rivers only u know what is best for u bit u don’t know anything about 1st aid then investing in something like this can train you and all of these forgot about a whistle and a emergency reflective mirror for help or sos
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND 2nd Skin burn patches/pads. Seriously, get them! Burned my hand one time at work and we didn’t have anything for burns except frozen popcicle sticks. For the next hour, I was in extreme pain driving around to Walmart and Rite Aide. I found them at Rite Aide along with, I believe, 2nd Skin lotion. The lotion was garbage and I was still in extreme pain. I ripped open the box of 2nd Skin patches and immediately took the pain away. I mean, it was so fast that I didn’t even feel like I burned myself at all. I always have a few boxes just in case. Then once the pain has gone away a few hours later and you feel better, then put the lotion on. That stuff is worth every penny.
Bear Grylls and Gerber Team Up
The Fire Starter is part of the Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Series of gear. This collaboration brings together Gerber’s 70+ years of knife and gear expertise with Bear Grylls’s extensive outdoor survival and adventure experience to create a one-of-a-kind line of knives, tools, and gear.
From spending time in the British SAS, to scaling Mount Everest, Bear knows what it takes to be a survivor in extreme situations and multiple environments. Now he brings that knowledge to the creation of a range of items that help you make the most of your outdoor adventures.
A medical first aid kit it’s a must have in all your outdoor trips. The Adventure Medical Kit Sportsman looks to be a well equipped first aid kit but on the same time is compact enough to fit in your backpack with no problems.
These really demonstrate the difference between a “First Aid” kit and a “Trauma” kit. Trauma kit is more towards busted bones, severe lacerations, internal injuries. Mine is 8″x6″x4″ and has two tourniquets, two splints, six pressure bandages, six coagulation packs, stuff like that. Not one band-aid or tweezers.
Liked all these choices. Very well made.
Those are all good first aid kits. Some would be great to have in your car or truck.
Others ate perfect for camping and hiking. I really like that surviveware kit!
There were 2 on the list that were completely useless. The last one had hardly any medical and I believe it was the third with guy presenting in person was also useless. I would have replaced half the crap that was in those 2. The other kits were actually pretty good even though I have never been a big fan of the Swat tourniquet and would rather a good CAT tourniquet.
For poorer people like myself, a simple red pencil case works as a quick/travel first aid pouch. Runs about $3 versus his version of $16.
As a long distant bike rider I carry a well stocked first aid kit in a bag from Condor Tactical. A medic from the army helped me build it and how to use every thing in it. Dont over think things. If some one is bleeding stop that any way you can, but be careful. Blood stopping drungs can be dangerous. But not a bad video. I keep all things divided into zip lock water proof bags, so its easy to find the right bag for what I need, and nothing can get ruined by water.
Duct tape, 4x4s, antibiotic ointment, quick clot, tweezer, q-tips. Small bottle of(cheap) vodka, pain killer. That’s all you really need.
I would recommend the Eleven Ten TEMS First Line Pouch. I carry 2 Combat gauze, 1 Celox Applicator, 2 Hyfin compact seals, 6″ NAR pressure bandage, 4″ Izzy, H&H flat packed compressed gauze, 1 NF airway, Frog med tape, Shears and a SOFT-W. Both Blue Force gear pouches, Trauma Kit Now! and the Micro are phenomenal as well.

Hi Aaron. Great review as usual. You might want to check out Blue Force Gear as well. They got some great IFAKs and med kits as well.
The Blackhawk is nearly identical to the Condor Rip-Away EMT Lite. Same Velcro tear away and handles. though the Blackhawk’s are bright red and slightly larger. I have the Condor as my trauma kit and it is stuffed. I like the design very much. After what happened in Toronto last week, I am thinking of getting a full sized condor Rip-Away EMT as a second more robust vehicle based kit.
GREAT INTEL BROTHER PEACE&SAFE JOURNEYS BROTHER WE SEND SMOKE TO YALL THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO BROTHER PEACE
Thanks for the knowledge and tips on different first aid kits. I put a level 2 kit in my car when i go to the outdoor gun range and whenever i need it, all i have to do is reach under my seat and It’s always there.
Awesome video man! I work in EMS, and I actually just took a tactical first response course today for work! After running the CAT today, I got on NAR and bought 1 for bag, 2 for my Jeep, and 2 for both my hiking and hunting bags. We were given one full IFAK today, and I just put it on my carrier
Any idea if the Vanquest 30 liter bag (on Amazon) will hold a bullet-proof plate? Looking for a backpack that can hold a Level III plate.
That BlackHawk bag looks perfect to me, hope it comes in other colors. Nice medical kit
I am totally with you on the BLACKHAWK, I did not see that one in particular, but did find a condor with the same system set up of the BLACKHAWK.
Mahalo for tirelessly keeping your viewers updated. I carry mostly the small Vanquest pouch after watching your annual first aid kit pouch update. Let me explore the quick-detachable one a little bit.
Hi Mr Gideontactical How are ya I’m from Australia. Love all your videos and watch them all the time. Just watching this video makes me feel ordinary.another channel from the states has gone through all this already. I realize that you get what you get when you get it. BUT you said you have had the israeli bandage for a while. So upset why haven’t you shown this till now why
You have one of the best med kit vids out there Enjoy your Saturday Aaron
That Blackhawk pouch is sweet. I use a NAR pouch that is more of a dump pouch that I prefer. It fits my RF molle panel setup perfectly. I have a small FAK, Israeli, 5×9 gauze, cpr shield, space blanket, and clif bar in mine. I don’t own a gun so I have less of a need for a tourniquet. I think the versatility of an Israeli bandage is good for me. On a side note, I was in a restaurant last weekend when a lady stopped breathing. Paramedics were doing cpr for some time before she started breathing. So scary to see that, especially the reaction of the people in her party.
I use the 5×8 Vanquest FATPack, perfect size for me, and the over-built quality of Vanquest items are worth every penny IMO.
Nice video. I use a 5×8 vanquest fat pack to contain my trauma supplies. My IFAK holds a bench made safety cutter hook, six packets quick clot granules, a quick clot syringe applicator, 4 inch flat fold emergency trauma dressing from North American rescue, two-vented Hyfin chest seals, H&H flat fold compression gauze; 2 triangle bandages; 2 cat TQ, a small Kershaw folding knife, a small light stick, an Olight, and an emergency blanket and some duct tape wrapped around a plastic card. One of the TQs is pre-staged for rapid deployment.. thanks for sharing. It’s always interesting to see what others prepare.
Aaron, what is the difference between wound seal and the Celox?
In my particular situation, I work at a popular music venue. Because of dress code standards pouches hanging off of my belt is a no go. I’m also not allowed to carry a bag. So, the only IFAK option for me was something that you reviewed a couple of years ago. The WH Tactical pocket trauma kit.
https://youtu.be/ciYneKcKmbw
I bought this pocket sized kit a couple of months ago and I’ve been carrying it in my back pants pocket ever since. I did customize it a bit since then. I removed the boo boo kit. Added, medical tape rolled on a gift card, bandage scissors, and a H&H Compact Wound Seal kit (which is a non-vented 6″x8″ chest seal folded and vacuum sealed very compactly).

Living in Canad and cant find any kits available form these vids
None of those kits have any tourniquets, airway, or respiration supplies like nasopharyngeal tubes and chest seals for major trauma. In other words, all these kits would leave you screwed if somebody got shot, stabbed, impaled, or anything remotely like that.
Nice selection of first aid kits. Survieware seems to be the best brand on Amazon
