Made this recipe but my brownies turned out to be more cakey than fudgy like those in the video.
I make these. I use coconut oil instead of olive oil. And I use hazelnut flour instead of the almond haha
healthier brownies? Definitely a yes! Can’t wait to make this!! Can we use honey instead of maple syrup and coconut oil instead of olive oil?
Did she said 3 cups of maple syrup and 3 cups of olive oil??
Yes! Could you please do more videos like this? Sort of like baking and more complicated things rather than just sandwiches and salads (even though they look amazing) it would be really helpful!
I made these and they are really good! My favorite brownie recipe!
Recipe:
4 oz 70% Dark chocolate melted
1/3 cup 100% Pure maple syrup
1/3 cup Olive oil
1/3 cup Light brown sugar
2 eggs room temp, add 1 at a time
2 TBSP cocoa powder
Blend until smooth, then add:
1/2 tsp Baking soda
1/4 tsp Salt
Fold in:
2/3 cup Almond flour
4 oz Chopped chocolate /choco chips
1/2 cup Chopped walnuts, on top
Bake at 350° F for 30 minutes
Dear ms. Bocar,
At 1:57 you explain a common question about the difference between cocoa and cacao. But there is a number of flaws in your reasoning. Cacao beans come from the fruit that grows on the cacao plant, which isn’t called the “chocolate plant”. Cocoa butter is the fat that is squeezed out of the roasted and ground cacao beans, whereby the dark cocoa solids are left in the press. This comes out as a big disk, which is then ground into the familiar cocoa powder. The cocoa butter seeps out and is collected separately. Cocoa butter is solid at room temperature, but it’s a fat and not the “solids found in dark chocolate, milk chocolate” as you say. In white chocolate, however, the main ingredient is cocoa butter, as it is a yellowy pale colour naturally.
It’s been over 3 years since this video was uploaded, so I’m hopeful you have since received similar feedback to this and learned about the process of producing cocoa powder/cocoa butter and chocolate.
That being said, I love your recipes!
You know, it would be useful to clarify the degrees because I just tried cooking this and set my oven to 350 Celsius-burnt!
What’s a healthy substitute for almond flour if im allergic to nuts?
Gluten free is not “healthy”. This is a fattening desert, it’s just a fattening desert that’s safe for people with Celiac Disease. It won’t help someone lose weight, it isn’t nutrient-dense, it’s just Celiac safe. Unless you have Celiac, a wheat allergy, or other documented gluten sensitivity, this is just another random brownie recipe. Calling it healthy just to cater to a recent and ill-founded diet fad really does nothing but spread misinformation. There are diabetics in the comment section who think this is A-okay for them because you advertised it as “healthy”. That’s not only irresponsible, but actually worthy of a lawsuit if anyone had the time or money to pursue it.
I made this recipe and substituted olive oil to coconut oil yesterday. It’s so delicious even during the baking period!!! Highly recommend!!
I am on free gluten diet after suffering Celiac for six months. I always consider great gluten-free recipes on internet everyday to get my wellness dessert, but it had not been an easy task to exercise and it had been maybe not delicious. I`m wonderful because it presented complately since I found the best free gluten recipes. The sweets are an easy task to cook and taste that is delicious. If you are going to cook some healthier dessert, We highly suggest to locate Delicious Desserts Perfecta Solution on google.
YES! No GF flour needed:) And I have tons of almond flour left in my freezer so this will come in handy:DDD
They look so light and fluffy. Not dense like a regular brownie.
Making these for sure, they look amazing.
I’ve made these brownies more than once now and they always turn out amazing!
I change olive oil to coconut oil and it turns great! Thanks Shira..
Too bad, not so clean after all with the brown sugar which is basically the same as white sugar.
i tried it today but there was like an after taste of olive oil.. can i instead use coconut or sunflower oil?
is this an okay brownie for a diabetic to eat or should I probably stay away?
Hey, is there any possibility that I can find the book in Finnish. I want to buy it as a gift for My mother in law she is a finn Im sure she would love it… Thx anyway…
These brownies look fantastic!! I prefer cacao over cocoa usually when I cook!
Sorry but, I followed the recipe Exactly as in video but it was a flop..!
Chocolate chunks melted and got mixed with brownie making it much more moist than required..! It looked plumped up only until I removed from oven.
Hey Sarah! This looks so delicious and I’m so eager to try this recipe, but I’m not gluten intolerant and I don’t usually have almond flour on hand so can you tell me how to substitute almond flour with whole wheat flour, please? Lots of thanks!
Any other ingredient to replace eggs? Pls help. Loved this recipe but m pure vegetarian
Thank you for the recipe, it is perfect for me. Please do more videos using GF ingredients. Love it!!!!
Could you use coconut oil instead of olive oil? I don’t love the taste of Oliver oil.
Hi everyday food team, would you mind making a playlist that is gluten free? That would be fantastic.
Next week will be the final healthy food swap video and I’m talking all about savory snacks, so don’t forget to subscribe so that you don’t miss it
I really don’t understand why she has to slowly shake the ingredients into the bowl and not just immediately dumping the ingredients into the bowl. Other then that, these brownies look amazing!
I made these and they are delicious, moist and great chocolate flavor. I did not add the chopped dark chocolat e at the end. Instead I just threw in a small handful semi sweet chocolate chips and it was still great.
This looks like an amazing book Shira……thanks for the heads up! Oh yeah…chocolate brownies, and healthy at that….thanks so much for sharing.
Could you also substitude the olive oil with coconut oil?:)
Looks yummy! I’ll definitely try to make this next week for my family
